פרק ק״ז Psalm 107

א1 הֹדוּ לַיהוָה כִּי־טוֹב כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃ hodu layhvah ki-tov ki leolam chasdo'O give thanks unto HaShem, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.' ב2 יֹאמְרוּ גְּאוּלֵי יְיָ אֲשֶׁר גְּאָלָם מִיַּד־צָֽר׃ yomru geulei Adonai asher gealam miyad-tzarSo let the redeemed of HaShem say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary; ג3 וּֽמֵאֲרָצוֹת קִבְּצָם מִמִּזְרָח וּמִֽמַּעֲרָב מִצָּפוֹן וּמִיָּֽם׃ umearatzot kibtzam mimizerach umimaarav mitzafon umiyamAnd gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea. ד4 תָּעוּ בַמִּדְבָּר בִּישִׁימוֹן דָּרֶךְ עִיר מוֹשָׁב לֹא מָצָֽאוּ׃ tau vamidebar bishimon darekh ir moshav lo matzauThey wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation. ה5 רְעֵבִים גַּם־צְמֵאִים נַפְשָׁם בָּהֶם תִּתְעַטָּֽף׃ reevim gam-tzemeim nafsham bahem titeatafHungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. ו6 וַיִּצְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְיָ בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֽוּקוֹתֵיהֶם יַצִּילֵֽם׃ vayitzeaku el-Adonai batzar lahem mimtzukoteihem yatzilemThen they cried unto HaShem in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. ז7 וַיַּֽדְרִיכֵם בְּדֶרֶךְ יְשָׁרָה לָלֶכֶת אֶל־עִיר מוֹשָֽׁב׃ vayaderikhem bederekh yesharah lalekhet el-ir moshavAnd He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation. ח8 יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ yodu layhvah chasdo veniflotayv livnei adamLet them give thanks unto HaShem for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! ט9 כִּי־הִשְׂבִּיעַ נֶפֶשׁ שֹׁקֵקָה וְנֶפֶשׁ רְעֵבָה מִלֵּא־טֽוֹב׃ ki-hisbiya nefesh shokekah venefesh reevah mile-tovFor He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good. י10 יֹשְׁבֵי חֹשֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָוֶת אֲסִירֵי עֳנִי וּבַרְזֶֽל׃ yoshvei choshekh vetzalmavet asirei oni uvarzelSuch as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron-- יא11 כִּֽי־הִמְרוּ אִמְרֵי־אֵל וַעֲצַת עֶלְיוֹן נָאָֽצוּ׃ ki-himru imrei-el vaatzat elyon naatzuBecause they rebelled against the words of G-d, and contemned the counsel of the Most High. יב12 וַיַּכְנַע בֶּעָמָל לִבָּם כָּשְׁלוּ וְאֵין עֹזֵֽר׃ vayakhena beamal libam kashelu veein ozerTherefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help-- יג13 וַיִּזְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְיָ בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃ vayizeaku el-Adonai batzar lahem mimtzukoteihem yoshiyemThey cried unto HaShem in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. יד14 יֽוֹצִיאֵם מֵחֹשֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָוֶת וּמוֹסְרוֹתֵיהֶם יְנַתֵּֽק׃ yotziyem mechoshekh vetzalmavet umosroteihem yenatekHe brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder. טו15 יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ yodu layhvah chasdo veniflotayv livnei adamLet them give thanks unto HaShem for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! טז16 כִּֽי־שִׁבַּר דַּלְתוֹת נְחֹשֶׁת וּבְרִיחֵי בַרְזֶל גִּדֵּֽעַ׃ ki-shibar daletot nechoshet uvrichei varzel gideaFor He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. יז17 אֱוִלִים מִדֶּרֶךְ פִּשְׁעָם וּֽמֵעֲוֺֽנֹתֵיהֶם יִתְעַנּֽוּ׃ evilim miderekh pisheam umeaonoteihem yitanuCrazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities-- יח18 כָּל־אֹכֶל תְּתַעֵב נַפְשָׁם וַיַּגִּיעוּ עַד־שַׁעֲרֵי מָֽוֶת׃ kal-okhel tetaev nafsham vayagiyu ad-shaarei mavetTheir soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death-- יט19 וַיִּזְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְיָ בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃ vayizeaku el-Adonai batzar lahem mimtzukoteihem yoshiyemThey cried unto HaShem in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses; כ20 יִשְׁלַח דְּבָרוֹ וְיִרְפָּאֵם וִֽימַלֵּט מִשְּׁחִיתוֹתָֽם׃ yishlach devaro veyirpaem vimalet mishchitotamHe sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves. כא21 יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ yodu layhvah chasdo veniflotayv livnei adamLet them give thanks unto HaShem for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! כב22 וְיִזְבְּחוּ זִבְחֵי תוֹדָה וִֽיסַפְּרוּ מַעֲשָׂיו בְּרִנָּֽה׃ veyizbchu zivchei todah visapru maasayv berinahAnd let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing. כג23 יוֹרְדֵי הַיָּם בָּאֳנִיּוֹת עֹשֵׂי מְלָאכָה בְּמַיִם רַבִּֽים׃ yordei hayam baoniyot osei melakhah bemayim rabimThey that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters-- כד24 הֵמָּה רָאוּ מַעֲשֵׂי יְיָ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו בִּמְצוּלָֽה׃ hemah rau maasei Adonai veniflotayv bimetzulahThese saw the works of HaShem, and His wonders in the deep; כה25 וַיֹּאמֶר וַֽיַּעֲמֵד רוּחַ סְעָרָה וַתְּרוֹמֵם גַּלָּֽיו׃ vayomer vayaamed rucha searah vatromem galayvFor He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof; כו26 יַעֲלוּ שָׁמַיִם יֵרְדוּ תְהוֹמוֹת נַפְשָׁם בְּרָעָה תִתְמוֹגָֽג׃ yaalu shamayim yerdu tehomot nafsham beraah titmogagThey mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble; כז27 יָחוֹגּוּ וְיָנוּעוּ כַּשִּׁכּוֹר וְכָל־חָכְמָתָם תִּתְבַּלָּֽע׃ yachogu veyanuu kashikor vekhal-chakhmatam titebalaThey reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up-- כח28 וַיִּצְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְיָ בַּצַּר לָהֶם וּֽמִמְּצֽוּקֹתֵיהֶם יוֹצִיאֵֽם׃ vayitzeaku el-Adonai batzar lahem umimtzukoteihem yotziyemThey cried unto HaShem in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses. כט29 יָקֵם סְעָרָה לִדְמָמָה וַיֶּחֱשׁוּ גַּלֵּיהֶֽם׃ yakem searah lidmamah vayecheshu galeihemHe made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still. ל30 וַיִּשְׂמְחוּ כִֽי־יִשְׁתֹּקוּ וַיַּנְחֵם אֶל־מְחוֹז חֶפְצָֽם׃ vayisemchu khi-yishtoku vayanechem el-mechoz cheftzamThen were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven. לא31 יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ yodu layhvah chasdo veniflotayv livnei adamLet them give thanks unto HaShem for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! לב32 וִֽירֹמְמוּהוּ בִּקְהַל־עָם וּבְמוֹשַׁב זְקֵנִים יְהַלְלֽוּהוּ׃ virommuhu bikehal-am uvmoshav zekenim yehalluhuLet them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders. לג33 יָשֵׂם נְהָרוֹת לְמִדְבָּר וּמֹצָאֵי מַיִם לְצִמָּאֽוֹן׃ yasem neharot lemidbar umotzaei mayim letzimaonHe turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground; לד34 אֶרֶץ פְּרִי לִמְלֵחָה מֵרָעַת יֹשְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ eretz peri limlechah meraat yoshvei vahA fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. לה35 יָשֵׂם מִדְבָּר לַֽאֲגַם־מַיִם וְאֶרֶץ צִיָּה לְמֹצָאֵי מָֽיִם׃ yasem midbar laagam-mayim veeretz tziyah lemotzaei mayimHe turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings. לו36 וַיּוֹשֶׁב שָׁם רְעֵבִים וַיְכוֹנְנוּ עִיר מוֹשָֽׁב׃ vayoshev sham reevim vaykhonnu ir moshavAnd there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation; לז37 וַיִּזְרְעוּ שָׂדוֹת וַיִּטְּעוּ כְרָמִים וַיַּעֲשׂוּ פְּרִי תְבֽוּאָה׃ vayizeru sadot vayiteu kheramim vayaasu peri tevuahAnd sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase. לח38 וַיְבָרֲכֵם וַיִּרְבּוּ מְאֹד וּבְהֶמְתָּם לֹא יַמְעִֽיט׃ vayvarakhem vayirebu meod uvhemtam lo yamitHe blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. לט39 וַיִּמְעֲטוּ וַיָּשֹׁחוּ מֵעֹצֶר רָעָה וְיָגֽוֹן׃ vayimeatu vayashochu meotzer raah veyagonAgain, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow. מ40 שֹׁפֵךְ בּוּז עַל־נְדִיבִים וַיַּתְעֵם בְּתֹהוּ לֹא־דָֽרֶךְ׃ shofekh buz al-nedivim vayateem betohu lo-darekhHe poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way. מא41 וַיְשַׂגֵּב אֶבְיוֹן מֵעוֹנִי וַיָּשֶׂם כַּצֹּאן מִשְׁפָּחֽוֹת׃ vaysagev evyon meoni vayasem katzon mishpachotYet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock. מב42 יִרְאוּ יְשָׁרִים וְיִשְׂמָחוּ וְכָל־עַוְלָה קָפְצָה פִּֽיהָ׃ yiru yesharim veyismachu vekhal-avlah kaftzah pihaThe upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth. מג43 מִי־חָכָם וְיִשְׁמָר־אֵלֶּה וְיִתְבּֽוֹנְנוּ חַֽסְדֵי יְהוָֽה׃ mi-chakham veyishmar-eleh veyitbonnu chasdei AdonaiWhoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of HaShem.
