א1 הַֽלְלוּ יָהּ ׀ הוֹדוּ לַיהוָה כִּי־טוֹב כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃ hallu yah ׀ hodu layhvah ki-tov ki leolam chasdoHallelujah. O give thanks unto HaShem; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever. ב2 מִי יְמַלֵּל גְּבוּרוֹת יְיָ יַשְׁמִיעַ כָּל־תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃ mi yemalel gevurot Adonai yashmiya kal-tehilatoWho can express the mighty acts of HaShem, or make all His praise to be heard? ג3 אַשְׁרֵי שֹׁמְרֵי מִשְׁפָּט עֹשֵׂה צְדָקָה בְכָל־עֵֽת׃ ashrei shomrei mishpat oseh tzedakah vekhal-etHappy are they that keep justice, that do righteousness at all times. ד4 זָכְרֵנִי יְיָ בִּרְצוֹן עַמֶּךָ פָּקְדֵנִי בִּישׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃ zakhreni Adonai biretzon amekha pakedeni bishuatekhaRemember me, O HaShem, when Thou favourest Thy people; O think of me at Thy salvation; ה5 לִרְאוֹת ׀ בְּטוֹבַת בְּחִירֶיךָ לִשְׂמֹחַ בְּשִׂמְחַת גּוֹיֶךָ לְהִתְהַלֵּל עִם־נַחֲלָתֶֽךָ׃ lirot ׀ betovat bechireikha lismocha besimchat goyekha lehithalel im-nachalatekhaThat I may behold the prosperity of Thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Thy nation, that I may glory with Thine inheritance. ו6 חָטָאנוּ עִם־אֲבוֹתֵינוּ הֶעֱוִינוּ הִרְשָֽׁעְנוּ׃ chatanu im-avoteinu heevinu hirshanuWe have sinned with our fathers, we have done iniquitously, we have dealt wickedly. ז7 אֲבוֹתֵינוּ בְמִצְרַיִם ׀ לֹא־הִשְׂכִּילוּ נִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ לֹא זָכְרוּ אֶת־רֹב חֲסָדֶיךָ וַיַּמְרוּ עַל־יָם בְּיַם־סֽוּף׃ avoteinu vemitzrayim ׀ lo-hiskilu nifloteikha lo zakhru et-rov chasadeikha vayameru al-yam beyam-sufOur fathers in Egypt gave no heed unto Thy wonders; they remembered not the multitude of Thy mercies; but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea. ח8 וַֽיּוֹשִׁיעֵם לְמַעַן שְׁמוֹ לְהוֹדִיעַ אֶת־גְּבוּרָתֽוֹ׃ vayoshiyem lemaan shemo lehodiya et-gevuratoNevertheless He saved them for His name's sake, that He might make His mighty power to be known. ט9 וַיִּגְעַר בְּיַם־סוּף וַֽיֶּחֱרָב וַיּוֹלִיכֵם בַּתְּהֹמוֹת כַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ vayigear beyam-suf vayecherav vayolikhem batehomot kamidebarAnd He rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up; and He led them through the depths, as through a wilderness. י10 וַֽיּוֹשִׁיעֵם מִיַּד שׂוֹנֵא וַיִּגְאָלֵם מִיַּד אוֹיֵֽב׃ vayoshiyem miyad sone vayigealem miyad oyevAnd He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. יא11 וַיְכַסּוּ־מַיִם צָרֵיהֶם אֶחָד מֵהֶם לֹא נוֹתָֽר׃ vaykhasu-mayim tzareihem echad mehem lo notarAnd the waters covered their adversaries; there was not one of them left. יב12 וַיַּאֲמִינוּ בִדְבָרָיו יָשִׁירוּ תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃ vayaaminu vidvarayv yashiru tehilatoThen believed they His words; they sang His praise. יג13 מִֽהֲרוּ שָׁכְחוּ מַעֲשָׂיו לֹֽא־חִכּוּ לַעֲצָתֽוֹ׃ miharu shakhchu maasayv lo-chiku laatzatoThey soon forgot His works; they waited not for His counsel; יד14 וַיִּתְאַוּוּ תַאֲוָה בַּמִּדְבָּר וַיְנַסּוּ־אֵל בִּֽישִׁימֽוֹן׃ vayiteauu taavah bamidebar vaynasu-el bishimonBut lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tried G-d in the desert. טו15 וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם שֶׁאֱלָתָם וַיְשַׁלַּח רָזוֹן בְּנַפְשָֽׁם׃ vayiten lahem sheelatam vayshalach razon benafshamAnd He gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. טז16 וַיְקַנְאוּ לְמֹשֶׁה בַּֽמַּחֲנֶה לְאַהֲרֹן קְדוֹשׁ יְהוָֽה׃ vaykanu lemosheh bamachaneh leaharon kedosh AdonaiThey were jealous also of Moses in the camp, and of Aaron the holy one of HaShem. יז17 תִּפְתַּח־אֶרֶץ וַתִּבְלַע דָּתָן וַתְּכַס עַל־עֲדַת אֲבִירָֽם׃ tifetach-eretz vativela datan vatkhas al-adat aviramThe earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. יח18 וַתִּבְעַר־אֵשׁ בַּעֲדָתָם לֶהָבָה תְּלַהֵט רְשָׁעִֽים׃ vativear-esh baadatam lehavah telahet reshaimAnd a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. יט19 יַעֲשׂוּ־עֵגֶל בְּחֹרֵב וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְמַסֵּכָֽה׃ yaasu-egel bechorev vayishetachavu lemasekhahThey made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped a molten image. כ20 וַיָּמִירוּ אֶת־כְּבוֹדָם בְּתַבְנִית שׁוֹר אֹכֵל עֵֽשֶׂב׃ vayamiru et-kevodam betavnit shor okhel esevThus they exchanged their glory for the likeness of an ox that eateth grass. כא21 שָׁכְחוּ אֵל מוֹשִׁיעָם עֹשֶׂה גְדֹלוֹת בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃ shakhchu el moshiyam oseh gedolot bemitzrayimThey forgot G-d their saviour, who had done great things in Egypt; כב22 נִפְלָאוֹת בְּאֶרֶץ חָם נוֹרָאוֹת עַל־יַם־סֽוּף׃ niflaot beeretz cham noraot al-yam-sufWondrous works in the land of Ham, terrible things by the Red Sea. כג23 וַיֹּאמֶר לְֽהַשְׁמִידָם לוּלֵי מֹשֶׁה בְחִירוֹ עָמַד בַּפֶּרֶץ לְפָנָיו לְהָשִׁיב חֲמָתוֹ מֵֽהַשְׁחִֽית׃ vayomer lehashmidam lulei mosheh vechiro amad baperetz lefanayv lehashiv chamato mehashchitTherefore He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses His chosen stood before Him in the breach, to turn back His wrath, lest He should destroy them. כד24 וַֽיִּמְאֲסוּ בְּאֶרֶץ חֶמְדָּה לֹֽא־הֶאֱמִינוּ לִדְבָרֽוֹ׃ vayimeasu beeretz chemdah lo-heeminu lidvaroMoreover, they scorned the desirable land, they believed not His word; כה25 וַיֵּרָגְנוּ בְאָהֳלֵיהֶם לֹא שָׁמְעוּ בְּקוֹל יְהוָֽה׃ vayeragnu veaholeihem lo shamu bekol AdonaiAnd they murmured in their tents, they hearkened not unto the voice of HaShem. כו26 וַיִּשָּׂא יָדוֹ לָהֶם לְהַפִּיל אוֹתָם בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ vayisa yado lahem lehapil otam bamidebarTherefore He swore concerning them, that He would overthrow them in the wilderness; כז27 וּלְהַפִּיל זַרְעָם בַּגּוֹיִם וּלְזָרוֹתָם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ ulhapil zaram bagoyim ulzarotam baaratzotAnd that He would cast out their seed among the nations, and scatter them in the lands. כח28 וַיִּצָּמְדוּ לְבַעַל פְּעוֹר וַיֹּאכְלוּ זִבְחֵי מֵתִֽים׃ vayitzamedu levaal peor vayokhlu zivchei metimThey joined themselves also unto Baal of Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. כט29 וַיַּכְעִיסוּ בְּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶם וַתִּפְרָץ־בָּם מַגֵּפָֽה׃ vayakheisu bemaalleihem vatiferatz-bam magefahThus they provoked Him with their doings, and the plague broke in upon them. ל30 וַיַּעֲמֹד פִּֽינְחָס וַיְפַלֵּל וַתֵּעָצַר הַמַּגֵּפָֽה׃ vayaamod pinchas vayfalel vateatzar hamagefahThen stood up Phinehas, and wrought judgment, and so the plague was stayed. לא31 וַתֵּחָשֶׁב לוֹ לִצְדָקָה לְדֹר וָדֹר עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ vatechashev lo litzdakah ledor vador ad-olamAnd that was counted unto him for righteousness, unto all generations for ever. לב32 וַיַּקְצִיפוּ עַל־מֵי מְרִיבָה וַיֵּרַע לְמֹשֶׁה בַּעֲבוּרָֽם׃ vayaketzifu al-mei merivah vayera lemosheh baavuramThey angered Him also at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses because of them; לג33 כִּֽי־הִמְרוּ אֶת־רוּחוֹ וַיְבַטֵּא בִּשְׂפָתָֽיו׃ ki-himru et-rucho vayvate bisefatayvFor they embittered his spirit, and he spoke rashly with his lips. לד34 לֹֽא־הִשְׁמִידוּ אֶת־הָֽעַמִּים אֲשֶׁר אָמַר יְיָ לָהֶֽם׃ lo-hishmidu et-haamim asher amar Adonai lahemThey did not destroy the peoples, as HaShem commanded them; לה35 וַיִּתְעָרְבוּ בַגּוֹיִם וַֽיִּלְמְדוּ מַֽעֲשֵׂיהֶֽם׃ vayitearvu vagoyim vayilemdu maaseihemBut mingled themselves with the nations, and learned their works; לו36 וַיַּעַבְדוּ אֶת־עֲצַבֵּיהֶם וַיִּהְיוּ לָהֶם לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃ vayaavdu et-atzabeihem vayiheyu lahem lemokeshAnd they served their idols, which became a snare unto them; לז37 וַיִּזְבְּחוּ אֶת־בְּנֵיהֶם וְאֶת־בְּנֽוֹתֵיהֶם לַשֵּֽׁדִים׃ vayizebchu et-beneihem veet-benoteihem lashedimYea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons, לח38 וַיִּֽשְׁפְּכוּ דָם נָקִי דַּם־בְּנֵיהֶם וּֽבְנוֹתֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר זִבְּחוּ לַעֲצַבֵּי כְנָעַן וַתֶּחֱנַף הָאָרֶץ בַּדָּמִֽים׃ vayishepkhu dam naki dam-beneihem uvnoteihem asher zibchu laatzabei khenaan vatechenaf haaretz badamimAnd shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with blood. לט39 וַיִּטְמְאוּ בְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶם וַיִּזְנוּ בְּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ vayitemu vemaaseihem vayizenu bemaalleihemThus were they defiled with their works, and went astray in their doings. מ40 וַיִּֽחַר־אַף יְיָ בְּעַמּוֹ וַיְתָעֵב אֶת־נַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃ vayichar-af Adonai beamo vaytaev et-nachalatoTherefore was the wrath of HaShem kindled against His people, and He abhorred His inheritance. מא41 וַיִּתְּנֵם בְּיַד־גּוֹיִם וַֽיִּמְשְׁלוּ בָהֶם שֹׂנְאֵיהֶֽם׃ vayitenem beyad-goyim vayimeshlu vahem soneihemAnd He gave them into the hand of the nations; and they that hated them ruled over them. מב42 וַיִּלְחָצוּם אוֹיְבֵיהֶם וַיִּכָּנְעוּ תַּחַת יָדָֽם׃ vayilechatzum oyveihem vayikaneu tachat yadamTheir enemies also oppressed them, and they were subdued under their hand. מג43 פְּעָמִים רַבּוֹת יַצִּילֵם וְהֵמָּה יַמְרוּ בַעֲצָתָם וַיָּמֹכּוּ בַּעֲוֺנָֽם׃ peamim rabot yatzilem vehemah yamru vaatzatam vayamoku baaonamMany times did He deliver them; but they were rebellious in their counsel, and sank low through their iniquity. מד44 וַיַּרְא בַּצַּר לָהֶם בְּשָׁמְעוֹ אֶת־רִנָּתָֽם׃ vayare batzar lahem beshamo et-rinatamNevertheless He looked upon their distress, when He heard their cry; מה45 וַיִּזְכֹּר לָהֶם בְּרִיתוֹ וַיִּנָּחֵם כְּרֹב חסדו׃ vayizekor lahem berito vayinachem kerov chsdvAnd He remembered for them His covenant, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies. מו46 וַיִּתֵּן אוֹתָם לְרַחֲמִים לִפְנֵי כָּל־שׁוֹבֵיהֶֽם׃ vayiten otam lerachamim lifnei kal-shoveihemHe made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captive. מז47 הוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ ׀ יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְקַבְּצֵנוּ מִֽן־הַגּוֹיִם לְהֹדוֹת לְשֵׁם קָדְשֶׁךָ לְהִשְׁתַּבֵּחַ בִּתְהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ hoshiyenu ׀ Adonai eloheinu vekabtzenu min-hagoyim lehodot leshem kadshekha lehishtabecha bitehilatekhaSave us, O HaShem our G-d, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks unto Thy holy name, that we may triumph in Thy praise. מח48 בָּרוּךְ־יְיָ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִן־הָעוֹלָם ׀ וְעַד הָעוֹלָם וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ barukh-Adonai Elohei yisrael min-haolam ׀ vead haolam veamar kal-haam amen hallu-yahBlessed be HaShem, the G-d of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting, and let all the people say: 'Amen.' א1 הֹדוּ לַיהוָה כִּי־טוֹב כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃ hodu layhvah ki-tov ki leolam chasdo'O give thanks unto HaShem, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.' ב2 יֹאמְרוּ גְּאוּלֵי יְיָ אֲשֶׁר גְּאָלָם מִיַּד־צָֽר׃ yomru geulei Adonai asher gealam miyad-tzarSo let the redeemed of HaShem say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary; ג3 וּֽמֵאֲרָצוֹת קִבְּצָם מִמִּזְרָח וּמִֽמַּעֲרָב מִצָּפוֹן וּמִיָּֽם׃ umearatzot kibtzam mimizerach umimaarav mitzafon umiyamAnd gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea. ד4 תָּעוּ בַמִּדְבָּר בִּישִׁימוֹן דָּרֶךְ עִיר מוֹשָׁב לֹא מָצָֽאוּ׃ tau vamidebar bishimon darekh ir moshav lo matzauThey wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation. ה5 רְעֵבִים גַּם־צְמֵאִים נַפְשָׁם בָּהֶם תִּתְעַטָּֽף׃ reevim gam-tzemeim nafsham bahem titeatafHungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. ו6 וַיִּצְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְיָ בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֽוּקוֹתֵיהֶם יַצִּילֵֽם׃ vayitzeaku el-Adonai batzar lahem mimtzukoteihem yatzilemThen they cried unto HaShem in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. ז7 וַיַּֽדְרִיכֵם בְּדֶרֶךְ יְשָׁרָה לָלֶכֶת אֶל־עִיר מוֹשָֽׁב׃ vayaderikhem bederekh yesharah lalekhet el-ir moshavAnd He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation. ח8 יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ yodu layhvah chasdo veniflotayv livnei adamLet them give thanks unto HaShem for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! ט9 כִּי־הִשְׂבִּיעַ נֶפֶשׁ שֹׁקֵקָה וְנֶפֶשׁ רְעֵבָה מִלֵּא־טֽוֹב׃ ki-hisbiya nefesh shokekah venefesh reevah mile-tovFor He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good. י10 יֹשְׁבֵי חֹשֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָוֶת אֲסִירֵי עֳנִי וּבַרְזֶֽל׃ yoshvei choshekh vetzalmavet asirei oni uvarzelSuch as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron-- יא11 כִּֽי־הִמְרוּ אִמְרֵי־אֵל וַעֲצַת עֶלְיוֹן נָאָֽצוּ׃ ki-himru imrei-el vaatzat elyon naatzuBecause they rebelled against the words of G-d, and contemned the counsel of the Most High. יב12 וַיַּכְנַע בֶּעָמָל לִבָּם כָּשְׁלוּ וְאֵין עֹזֵֽר׃ vayakhena beamal libam kashelu veein ozerTherefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help-- יג13 וַיִּזְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְיָ בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃ vayizeaku el-Adonai batzar lahem mimtzukoteihem yoshiyemThey cried unto HaShem in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. יד14 יֽוֹצִיאֵם מֵחֹשֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָוֶת וּמוֹסְרוֹתֵיהֶם יְנַתֵּֽק׃ yotziyem mechoshekh vetzalmavet umosroteihem yenatekHe brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder. טו15 יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ yodu layhvah chasdo veniflotayv livnei adamLet them give thanks unto HaShem for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! טז16 כִּֽי־שִׁבַּר דַּלְתוֹת נְחֹשֶׁת וּבְרִיחֵי בַרְזֶל גִּדֵּֽעַ׃ ki-shibar daletot nechoshet uvrichei varzel gideaFor He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. יז17 אֱוִלִים מִדֶּרֶךְ פִּשְׁעָם וּֽמֵעֲוֺֽנֹתֵיהֶם יִתְעַנּֽוּ׃ evilim miderekh pisheam umeaonoteihem yitanuCrazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities-- יח18 כָּל־אֹכֶל תְּתַעֵב נַפְשָׁם וַיַּגִּיעוּ עַד־שַׁעֲרֵי מָֽוֶת׃ kal-okhel tetaev nafsham vayagiyu ad-shaarei mavetTheir soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death-- יט19 וַיִּזְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְיָ בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃ vayizeaku el-Adonai batzar lahem mimtzukoteihem yoshiyemThey cried unto HaShem in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses; כ20 יִשְׁלַח דְּבָרוֹ וְיִרְפָּאֵם וִֽימַלֵּט מִשְּׁחִיתוֹתָֽם׃ yishlach devaro veyirpaem vimalet mishchitotamHe sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves. כא21 יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ yodu layhvah chasdo veniflotayv livnei adamLet them give thanks unto HaShem for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! כב22 וְיִזְבְּחוּ זִבְחֵי תוֹדָה וִֽיסַפְּרוּ מַעֲשָׂיו בְּרִנָּֽה׃ veyizbchu zivchei todah visapru maasayv berinahAnd let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing. כג23 יוֹרְדֵי הַיָּם בָּאֳנִיּוֹת עֹשֵׂי מְלָאכָה בְּמַיִם רַבִּֽים׃ yordei hayam baoniyot osei melakhah bemayim rabimThey that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters-- כד24 הֵמָּה רָאוּ מַעֲשֵׂי יְיָ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו בִּמְצוּלָֽה׃ hemah rau maasei Adonai veniflotayv bimetzulahThese saw the works of HaShem, and His wonders in the deep; כה25 וַיֹּאמֶר וַֽיַּעֲמֵד רוּחַ סְעָרָה וַתְּרוֹמֵם גַּלָּֽיו׃ vayomer vayaamed rucha searah vatromem galayvFor He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof; כו26 יַעֲלוּ שָׁמַיִם יֵרְדוּ תְהוֹמוֹת נַפְשָׁם בְּרָעָה תִתְמוֹגָֽג׃ yaalu shamayim yerdu tehomot nafsham beraah titmogagThey mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble; כז27 יָחוֹגּוּ וְיָנוּעוּ כַּשִּׁכּוֹר וְכָל־חָכְמָתָם תִּתְבַּלָּֽע׃ yachogu veyanuu kashikor vekhal-chakhmatam titebalaThey reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up-- כח28 וַיִּצְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְיָ בַּצַּר לָהֶם וּֽמִמְּצֽוּקֹתֵיהֶם יוֹצִיאֵֽם׃ vayitzeaku el-Adonai batzar lahem umimtzukoteihem yotziyemThey cried unto HaShem in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses. כט29 יָקֵם סְעָרָה לִדְמָמָה וַיֶּחֱשׁוּ גַּלֵּיהֶֽם׃ yakem searah lidmamah vayecheshu galeihemHe made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still. ל30 וַיִּשְׂמְחוּ כִֽי־יִשְׁתֹּקוּ וַיַּנְחֵם אֶל־מְחוֹז חֶפְצָֽם׃ vayisemchu khi-yishtoku vayanechem el-mechoz cheftzamThen were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven. לא31 יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ yodu layhvah chasdo veniflotayv livnei adamLet them give thanks unto HaShem for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! לב32 וִֽירֹמְמוּהוּ בִּקְהַל־עָם וּבְמוֹשַׁב זְקֵנִים יְהַלְלֽוּהוּ׃ virommuhu bikehal-am uvmoshav zekenim yehalluhuLet them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders. לג33 יָשֵׂם נְהָרוֹת לְמִדְבָּר וּמֹצָאֵי מַיִם לְצִמָּאֽוֹן׃ yasem neharot lemidbar umotzaei mayim letzimaonHe turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground; לד34 אֶרֶץ פְּרִי לִמְלֵחָה מֵרָעַת יֹשְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ eretz peri limlechah meraat yoshvei vahA fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. לה35 יָשֵׂם מִדְבָּר לַֽאֲגַם־מַיִם וְאֶרֶץ צִיָּה לְמֹצָאֵי מָֽיִם׃ yasem midbar laagam-mayim veeretz tziyah lemotzaei mayimHe turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings. לו36 וַיּוֹשֶׁב שָׁם רְעֵבִים וַיְכוֹנְנוּ עִיר מוֹשָֽׁב׃ vayoshev sham reevim vaykhonnu ir moshavAnd there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation; לז37 וַיִּזְרְעוּ שָׂדוֹת וַיִּטְּעוּ כְרָמִים וַיַּעֲשׂוּ פְּרִי תְבֽוּאָה׃ vayizeru sadot vayiteu kheramim vayaasu peri tevuahAnd sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase. לח38 וַיְבָרֲכֵם וַיִּרְבּוּ מְאֹד וּבְהֶמְתָּם לֹא יַמְעִֽיט׃ vayvarakhem vayirebu meod uvhemtam lo yamitHe blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. לט39 וַיִּמְעֲטוּ וַיָּשֹׁחוּ מֵעֹצֶר רָעָה וְיָגֽוֹן׃ vayimeatu vayashochu meotzer raah veyagonAgain, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow. מ40 שֹׁפֵךְ בּוּז עַל־נְדִיבִים וַיַּתְעֵם בְּתֹהוּ לֹא־דָֽרֶךְ׃ shofekh buz al-nedivim vayateem betohu lo-darekhHe poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way. מא41 וַיְשַׂגֵּב אֶבְיוֹן מֵעוֹנִי וַיָּשֶׂם כַּצֹּאן מִשְׁפָּחֽוֹת׃ vaysagev evyon meoni vayasem katzon mishpachotYet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock. מב42 יִרְאוּ יְשָׁרִים וְיִשְׂמָחוּ וְכָל־עַוְלָה קָפְצָה פִּֽיהָ׃ yiru yesharim veyismachu vekhal-avlah kaftzah pihaThe upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth. מג43 מִי־חָכָם וְיִשְׁמָר־אֵלֶּה וְיִתְבּֽוֹנְנוּ חַֽסְדֵי יְהוָֽה׃ mi-chakham veyishmar-eleh veyitbonnu chasdei AdonaiWhoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of HaShem.
