א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ אֶל־שֹׁשַׁנִּים עֵדוּת לְאָסָף מִזְמֽוֹר׃ lamnatzecha el-shoshanim edut leasaf mizmorFor the Leader; upon Shoshannim. A testimony. A Psalm of Asaph. ב2 רֹעֵה יִשְׂרָאֵל ׀ הַאֲזִינָה נֹהֵג כַּצֹּאן יוֹסֵף יֹשֵׁב הַכְּרוּבִים הוֹפִֽיעָה׃ roeh yisrael ׀ haazinah noheg katzon yosef yoshev hakruvim hofiyahGive ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; Thou that art enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth. ג3 לִפְנֵי אֶפְרַיִם ׀ וּבִנְיָמִן וּמְנַשֶּׁה עוֹרְרָה אֶת־גְּבֽוּרָתֶךָ וּלְכָה לִישֻׁעָתָה לָּֽנוּ׃ lifnei efrayim ׀ uvinyamin umnasheh orrah et-gevuratekha ulkhah lishuatah lanuBefore Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up Thy might, and come to save us. ד4 אֱלֹהִים הֲשִׁיבֵנוּ וְהָאֵר פָּנֶיךָ וְנִוָּשֵֽׁעָה׃ Elohim hashivenu vehaer paneikha venivasheahO G-d, restore us; and cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. ה5 יְיָ אֱלֹהִים צְבָאוֹת עַד־מָתַי עָשַׁנְתָּ בִּתְפִלַּת עַמֶּֽךָ׃ Adonai Elohim tzevaot ad-matay ashanta bitefilat amekhaO HaShem G-d of hosts, how long wilt Thou be angry against the prayer of Thy people? ו6 הֶאֱכַלְתָּם לֶחֶם דִּמְעָה וַתַּשְׁקֵמוֹ בִּדְמָעוֹת שָׁלִֽישׁ׃ heekhaltam lechem dimeah vatashekemo bidemaot shalishThou hast fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure. ז7 תְּשִׂימֵנוּ מָדוֹן לִשְׁכֵנֵינוּ וְאֹיְבֵינוּ יִלְעֲגוּ־לָֽמוֹ׃ tesimenu madon lishkheneinu veoyveinu yilagu-lamoThou makest us a strife unto our neighbours; and our enemies mock as they please. ח8 אֱלֹהִים צְבָאוֹת הֲשִׁיבֵנוּ וְהָאֵר פָּנֶיךָ וְנִוָּשֵֽׁעָה׃ Elohim tzevaot hashivenu vehaer paneikha venivasheahO G-d of hosts, restore us; and cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. ט9 גֶּפֶן מִמִּצְרַיִם תַּסִּיעַ תְּגָרֵשׁ גּוֹיִם וַתִּטָּעֶֽהָ׃ gefen mimitzerayim tasiya tegaresh goyim vatitaehaThou didst pluck up a vine out of Egypt; Thou didst drive out the nations, and didst plant it. י10 פִּנִּיתָ לְפָנֶיהָ וַתַּשְׁרֵשׁ שָׁרָשֶׁיהָ וַתְּמַלֵּא־אָֽרֶץ׃ pinita lefaneiha vatasheresh sharasheiha vatmale-aretzThou didst clear a place before it, and it took deep root, and filled the land. יא11 כָּסּוּ הָרִים צִלָּהּ וַעֲנָפֶיהָ אַֽרְזֵי־אֵֽל׃ kasu harim tzilah vaanafeiha arzei-elThe mountains were covered with the shadow of it, and the mighty cedars with the boughs thereof. יב12 תְּשַׁלַּח קְצִירֶהָ עַד־יָם וְאֶל־נָהָר יֽוֹנְקוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ teshalach ketzireha ad-yam veel-nahar yonkoteihaShe sent out her branches unto the sea, and her shoots unto the River. יג13 לָמָּה פָּרַצְתָּ גְדֵרֶיהָ וְאָרוּהָ כָּל־עֹבְרֵי דָֽרֶךְ׃ lamah paratzta gedereiha vearuha kal-ovrei darekhWhy hast Thou broken down her fences, so that all they that pass by the way do pluck her? יד14 יְכַרְסְמֶנָּֽה חֲזִיר מִיָּעַר וְזִיז שָׂדַי יִרְעֶֽנָּה׃ yekharsmenah chazir miyaar veziz saday yirenahThe boar out of the wood doth ravage it, that which moveth in the field feedeth on it. טו15 אֱלֹהִים צְבָאוֹת שֽׁוּב־נָא הַבֵּט מִשָּׁמַיִם וּרְאֵה וּפְקֹד גֶּפֶן זֹֽאת׃ Elohim tzevaot shuv-na habet mishamayim ureh ufkod gefen zotO G-d of hosts, return, we beseech Thee; look from heaven, and behold, and be mindful of this vine, טז16 וְכַנָּה אֲשֶׁר־נָטְעָה יְמִינֶךָ וְעַל־בֵּן אִמַּצְתָּה לָּֽךְ׃ vekhanah asher-natah yeminekha veal-ben imatzetah lakheAnd of the stock which Thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that Thou madest strong for Thyself. יז17 שְׂרֻפָה בָאֵשׁ כְּסוּחָה מִגַּעֲרַת פָּנֶיךָ יֹאבֵֽדוּ׃ serufah vaesh kesuchah migaarat paneikha yoveduIt is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of Thy countenance. יח18 תְּֽהִי־יָדְךָ עַל־אִישׁ יְמִינֶךָ עַל־בֶּן־אָדָם אִמַּצְתָּ לָּֽךְ׃ tehi-yadkha al-ish yeminekha al-ben-adam imatzeta lakheLet Thy hand be upon the man of Thy right hand, upon the son of man whom Thou madest strong for Thyself. יט19 וְלֹא־נָסוֹג מִמֶּךָּ תְּחַיֵּנוּ וּבְשִׁמְךָ נִקְרָֽא׃ velo-nasog mimeka techayenu uvshimkha nikraSo shall we not turn back from Thee; quicken Thou us, and we will call upon Thy name. כ20 יְיָ אֱלֹהִים צְבָאוֹת הֲשִׁיבֵנוּ הָאֵר פָּנֶיךָ וְנִוָּשֵֽׁעָה׃ Adonai Elohim tzevaot hashivenu haer paneikha venivasheahO HaShem G-d of hosts, restore us; cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
