א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַֽל־שׁוֹשַׁנִּים לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha al-shoshanim ledavidFor the Leader; upon Shoshannim. A Psalm of David. ב2 הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי אֱלֹהִים כִּי בָאוּ מַיִם עַד־נָֽפֶשׁ׃ hoshiyeni Elohim ki vau mayim ad-nafeshSave me, O G-d; for the waters are come in even unto the soul. ג3 טָבַעְתִּי ׀ בִּיוֵן מְצוּלָה וְאֵין מָעֳמָד בָּאתִי בְמַעֲמַקֵּי־מַיִם וְשִׁבֹּלֶת שְׁטָפָֽתְנִי׃ tavati ׀ biven metzulah veein maomad bati vemaamakei-mayim veshibolet shetafatniI am sunk in deep mire, where there is no standing; I am come into deep waters, and the flood overwhelmeth me. ד4 יָגַעְתִּי בְקָרְאִי נִחַר גְּרוֹנִי כָּלוּ עֵינַי מְיַחֵל לֵאלֹהָֽי׃ yagati vekari nichar geroni kalu einay meyachel lelohayI am weary of my crying; my throat is dried; mine eyes fail while I wait for my G-d. ה5 רַבּוּ ׀ מִשַּׂעֲרוֹת רֹאשִׁי שֹׂנְאַי חִנָּם עָצְמוּ מַצְמִיתַי אֹיְבַי שֶׁקֶר אֲשֶׁר לֹא־גָזַלְתִּי אָז אָשִֽׁיב׃ rabu ׀ misaarot roshi sonay chinam atzmu matzmitay oyvay sheker asher lo-gazalti az ashivThey that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that would cut me off, being mine enemies wrongfully, are many; should I restore that which I took not away? ו6 אֱֽלֹהִים אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ לְאִוַּלְתִּי וְאַשְׁמוֹתַי מִמְּךָ לֹא־נִכְחָֽדוּ׃ elohim atah yadata leivaleti veashmotay mimkha lo-nikhchaduO G-d, Thou knowest my folly; and my trespasses are not hid from Thee. ז7 אַל־יֵבֹשׁוּ בִי ׀ קֹוֶיךָ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה צְבָאוֹת אַל־יִכָּלְמוּ בִי מְבַקְשֶׁיךָ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ al-yevoshu vi ׀ koveikha Adonai Adonai tzevaot al-yikalemu vi mevaksheikha Elohei yisraelLet not them that wait for Thee be ashamed through me, O L-rd GOD of hosts; let not those that seek Thee be brought to confusion through me, O G-d of Israel. ח8 כִּֽי־עָלֶיךָ נָשָׂאתִי חֶרְפָּה כִּסְּתָה כְלִמָּה פָנָֽי׃ ki-aleikha nasati cherpah kisetah khelimah fanayBecause for Thy sake I have borne reproach; confusion hath covered my face. ט9 מוּזָר הָיִיתִי לְאֶחָי וְנָכְרִי לִבְנֵי אִמִּֽי׃ muzar hayiti leechay venakhri livnei imiI am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children. י10 כִּֽי־קִנְאַת בֵּיתְךָ אֲכָלָתְנִי וְחֶרְפּוֹת חוֹרְפֶיךָ נָפְלוּ עָלָֽי׃ ki-kinat beitkha akhalatni vecherpot chorfeikha naflu alayBecause zeal for Thy house hath eaten me up, and the reproaches of them that reproach Thee are fallen upon me. יא11 וָאֶבְכֶּה בַצּוֹם נַפְשִׁי וַתְּהִי לַחֲרָפוֹת לִֽי׃ vaevkeh vatzom nafshi vathi lacharafot liAnd I wept with my soul with fasting, and that became unto me a reproach. יב12 וָאֶתְּנָה לְבוּשִׁי שָׂק וָאֱהִי לָהֶם לְמָשָֽׁל׃ vaetnah levushi sak vaehi lahem lemashalI made sackcloth also my garment, and I became a byword unto them. יג13 יָשִׂיחוּ בִי יֹשְׁבֵי שָׁעַר וּנְגִינוֹת שׁוֹתֵי שֵׁכָֽר׃ yasichu vi yoshvei shaar unginot shotei shekharThey that sit in the gate talk of me; and I am the song of the drunkards. יד14 וַאֲנִי תְפִלָּתִֽי־לְךָ ׀ יְיָ עֵת רָצוֹן אֱלֹהִים בְּרָב־חַסְדֶּךָ עֲנֵנִי בֶּאֱמֶת יִשְׁעֶֽךָ׃ vaani tefilati-lekha ׀ Adonai et ratzon Elohim berav-chasdekha aneni beemet yishekhaBut as for me, let my prayer be unto Thee, O HaShem, in an acceptable time; O G-d, in the abundance of Thy mercy, answer me with the truth of Thy salvation. טו15 הַצִּילֵנִי מִטִּיט וְאַל־אֶטְבָּעָה אִנָּצְלָה מִשֹּֽׂנְאַי וּמִמַּֽעֲמַקֵּי־מָֽיִם׃ hatzileni mitit veal-etbaah inatzelah misoneay umimaamakei-mayimDeliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. טז16 אַל־תִּשְׁטְפֵנִי ׀ שִׁבֹּלֶת מַיִם וְאַל־תִּבְלָעֵנִי מְצוּלָה וְאַל־תֶּאְטַר־עָלַי בְּאֵר פִּֽיהָ׃ al-tishetfeni ׀ shibolet mayim veal-tivelaeni metzulah veal-teetar-alay beer pihaLet not the waterflood overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. יז17 עֲנֵנִי יְיָ כִּי־טוֹב חַסְדֶּךָ כְּרֹב רַחֲמֶיךָ פְּנֵה אֵלָֽי׃ aneni Adonai ki-tov chasdekha kerov rachameikha peneh elayAnswer me, O HaShem, for Thy mercy is good; according to the multitude of Thy compassions turn Thou unto me. יח18 וְאַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מֵֽעַבְדֶּךָ כִּֽי־צַר־לִי מַהֵר עֲנֵֽנִי׃ veal-taseter paneikha meavdekha ki-tzar-li maher aneniAnd hide not Thy face from Thy servant; for I am in distress; answer me speedily. יט19 קָרְבָה אֶל־נַפְשִׁי גְאָלָהּ לְמַעַן אֹיְבַי פְּדֵֽנִי׃ karvah el-nafshi gealah lemaan oyvay pedeniDraw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it; ransom me because of mine enemies. כ20 אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ חֶרְפָּתִי וּבָשְׁתִּי וּכְלִמָּתִי נֶגְדְּךָ כָּל־צוֹרְרָֽי׃ atah yadata cherpati uvashti ukhlimati negdkha kal-tzorrayThou knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my confusion; mine adversaries are all before Thee. כא21 חֶרְפָּה ׀ שָֽׁבְרָה לִבִּי וָֽאָנוּשָׁה וָאֲקַוֶּה לָנוּד וָאַיִן וְלַמְנַחֲמִים וְלֹא מָצָֽאתִי׃ cherpah ׀ shavrah libi vaanushah vaakaveh lanud vaayin velamnachamim velo matzatiReproach hath broken my heart; and I am sore sick; and I looked for some to show compassion, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. כב22 וַיִּתְּנוּ בְּבָרוּתִי רֹאשׁ וְלִצְמָאִי יַשְׁקוּנִי חֹֽמֶץ׃ vayitenu bevaruti rosh velitzmai yashkuni chometzYea, they put poison into my food; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. כג23 יְהִֽי־שֻׁלְחָנָם לִפְנֵיהֶם לְפָח וְלִשְׁלוֹמִים לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃ yehi-shulchanam lifneihem lefach velishlomim lemokeshLet their table before them become a snare; and when they are in peace, let it become a trap. כד24 תֶּחְשַׁכְנָה עֵינֵיהֶם מֵרְאוֹת וּמָתְנֵיהֶם תָּמִיד הַמְעַֽד׃ techeshakhnah eineihem merot umatneihem tamid hamadLet their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to totter. כה25 שְׁפָךְ־עֲלֵיהֶם זַעְמֶךָ וַחֲרוֹן אַפְּךָ יַשִּׂיגֵֽם׃ shefakh-aleihem zamekha vacharon apkha yasigemPour out Thine indignation upon them, and let the fierceness of Thine anger overtake them. כו26 תְּהִי־טִֽירָתָם נְשַׁמָּה בְּאָהֳלֵיהֶם אַל־יְהִי יֹשֵֽׁב׃ tehi-tiratam neshamah beaholeihem al-yehi yoshevLet their encampment be desolate; let none dwell in their tents. כז27 כִּֽי־אַתָּה אֲשֶׁר־הִכִּיתָ רָדָפוּ וְאֶל־מַכְאוֹב חֲלָלֶיךָ יְסַפֵּֽרוּ׃ ki-atah asher-hikita radafu veel-makhov chalaleikha yesaperuFor they persecute him whom Thou hast smitten; and they tell of the pain of those whom Thou hast wounded. כח28 תְּֽנָה־עָוֺן עַל־עֲוֺנָם וְאַל־יָבֹאוּ בְּצִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ tenah-aon al-aonam veal-yavou betzidkatekhaAdd iniquity unto their iniquity; and let them not come into Thy righteousness. כט29 יִמָּחֽוּ מִסֵּפֶר חַיִּים וְעִם צַדִּיקִים אַל־יִכָּתֵֽבוּ׃ yimachu misefer chayim veim tzadikim al-yikatevuLet them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. ל30 וַאֲנִי עָנִי וְכוֹאֵב יְשׁוּעָתְךָ אֱלֹהִים תְּשַׂגְּבֵֽנִי׃ vaani ani vekhoev yeshuatkha Elohim tesagveniBut I am afflicted and in pain; let Thy salvation, O G-d, set me up on high. לא31 אֲהַֽלְלָה שֵׁם־אֱלֹהִים בְּשִׁיר וַאֲגַדְּלֶנּוּ בְתוֹדָֽה׃ ahallah shem-Elohim beshir vaagadlenu vetodahI will praise the name of G-d with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. לב32 וְתִיטַב לַֽיהוָה מִשּׁוֹר פָּר מַקְרִן מַפְרִֽיס׃ vetitav layhvah mishor par makrin mafrisAnd it shall please HaShem better than a bullock that hath horns and hoofs. לג33 רָאוּ עֲנָוִים יִשְׂמָחוּ דֹּרְשֵׁי אֱלֹהִים וִיחִי לְבַבְכֶֽם׃ rau anavim yismachu doreshei Elohim vichi levavkhemThe humble shall see it, and be glad; ye that seek after G-d, let your heart revive. לד34 כִּֽי־שֹׁמֵעַ אֶל־אֶבְיוֹנִים יְיָ וְאֶת־אֲסִירָיו לֹא בָזָֽה׃ ki-shomea el-evyonim Adonai veet-asirayv lo vazahFor HaShem hearkeneth unto the needy, and despiseth not His prisoners. לה35 יְֽהַלְלוּהוּ שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ יַמִּים וְֽכָל־רֹמֵשׂ בָּֽם׃ yehalluhu shamayim vaaretz yamim vekhal-romes bamLet heaven and earth praise Him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein. לו36 כִּי אֱלֹהִים ׀ יוֹשִׁיעַ צִיּוֹן וְיִבְנֶה עָרֵי יְהוּדָה וְיָשְׁבוּ שָׁם וִירֵשֽׁוּהָ׃ ki Elohim ׀ yoshiya tziyon veyivneh arei yehudah veyashvu sham vireshuhaFor G-d will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah; and they shall abide there, and have it in possession. לז37 וְזֶרַע עֲבָדָיו יִנְחָלוּהָ וְאֹהֲבֵי שְׁמוֹ יִשְׁכְּנוּ־בָֽהּ׃ vezera avadayv yinchaluha veohavei shemo yishknu-vahThe seed also of His servants shall inherit it; and they that love His name shall dwell therein.
