A Psalm of David; ב2 בְּֽבוֹא־אֵלָיו נָתָן הַנָּבִיא כַּֽאֲשֶׁר־בָּא אֶל־בַּת־שָֽׁבַע׃ bevo-elayv natan hanavi kaasher-ba el-bat-shavaWhen Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. ג3 חָנֵּנִי אֱלֹהִים כְּחַסְדֶּךָ כְּרֹב רַחֲמֶיךָ מְחֵה פְשָׁעָֽי׃ chaneni Elohim kechasdekha kerov rachameikha mecheh feshaayBe gracious unto me, O G-d, according to Thy mercy; according to the multitude of Thy compassions blot out my transgressions. ד4 הרבה כַּבְּסֵנִי מֵעֲוֺנִי וּֽמֵחַטָּאתִי טַהֲרֵֽנִי׃ hrvh kabeseni meaoni umechatati tahareniWash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. ה5 כִּֽי־פְשָׁעַי אֲנִי אֵדָע וְחַטָּאתִי נֶגְדִּי תָמִֽיד׃ ki-feshaay ani eda vechatati negdi tamidFor I know my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me. ו6 לְךָ לְבַדְּךָ ׀ חָטָאתִי וְהָרַע בְּעֵינֶיךָ עָשִׂיתִי לְמַעַן תִּצְדַּק בְּדָבְרֶךָ תִּזְכֶּה בְשָׁפְטֶֽךָ׃ lekha levadkha ׀ chatati vehara beeineikha asiti lemaan titzedak bedavrekha tizekeh veshaftekhaAgainst Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in Thy sight; that Thou mayest be justified when Thou speakest, and be in the right when Thou judgest. ז7 הֵן־בְּעָווֹן חוֹלָלְתִּי וּבְחֵטְא יֶֽחֱמַתְנִי אִמִּֽי׃ hen-beavon cholalti uvchet yechematni imiBehold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. ח8 הֵן־אֱמֶת חָפַצְתָּ בַטֻּחוֹת וּבְסָתֻם חָכְמָה תוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃ hen-emet chafatzta vatuchot uvsatum chakhmah todiyeniBehold, Thou desirest truth in the inward parts; make me, therefore, to know wisdom in mine inmost heart. ט9 תְּחַטְּאֵנִי בְאֵזוֹב וְאֶטְהָר תְּכַבְּסֵנִי וּמִשֶּׁלֶג אַלְבִּֽין׃ techateni veezov veethar tekhabseni umisheleg albinPurge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. י10 תַּשְׁמִיעֵנִי שָׂשׂוֹן וְשִׂמְחָה תָּגֵלְנָה עֲצָמוֹת דִּכִּֽיתָ׃ tashemiyeni sason vesimchah tagelnah atzamot dikitaMake me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which Thou hast crushed may rejoice. יא11 הַסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מֵחֲטָאָי וְֽכָל־עֲוֺנֹתַי מְחֵֽה׃ haster paneikha mechataay vekhal-aonotay mechehHide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. יב12 לֵב טָהוֹר בְּרָא־לִי אֱלֹהִים וְרוּחַ נָכוֹן חַדֵּשׁ בְּקִרְבִּֽי׃ lev tahor bera-li Elohim verucha nakhon chadesh bekirbiCreate me a clean heart, O G-d; and renew a stedfast spirit within me. יג13 אַל־תַּשְׁלִיכֵנִי מִלְּפָנֶיךָ וְרוּחַ קָדְשְׁךָ אַל־תִּקַּח מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ al-tashelikheni milfaneikha verucha kadshkha al-tikach mimeniCast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy holy spirit from me. יד14 הָשִׁיבָה לִּי שְׂשׂוֹן יִשְׁעֶךָ וְרוּחַ נְדִיבָה תִסְמְכֵֽנִי׃ hashivah li seson yishekha verucha nedivah tismkheniRestore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and let a willing spirit uphold me. טו15 אֲלַמְּדָה פֹשְׁעִים דְּרָכֶיךָ וְחַטָּאִים אֵלֶיךָ יָשֽׁוּבוּ׃ alamdah foshim derakheikha vechataim eleikha yashuvuThen will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners shall return unto Thee. טז16 הַצִּילֵנִי מִדָּמִים ׀ אֱֽלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵי תְּשׁוּעָתִי תְּרַנֵּן לְשׁוֹנִי צִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ hatzileni midamim ׀ elohim Elohei teshuati teranen leshoni tzidkatekhaDeliver me from bloodguiltiness, O G-d, Thou G-d of my salvation; so shall my tongue sing aloud of Thy righteousness. יז17 אֲדֹנָי שְׂפָתַי תִּפְתָּח וּפִי יַגִּיד תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ Adonai sefatay tifetach ufi yagid tehilatekhaO L-rd, open Thou my lips; and my mouth shall declare Thy praise. יח18 כִּי ׀ לֹא־תַחְפֹּץ זֶבַח וְאֶתֵּנָה עוֹלָה לֹא תִרְצֶֽה׃ ki ׀ lo-tachpotz zevach veetenah olah lo tirtzehFor Thou delightest not in sacrifice, else would I give it; Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering. יט19 זִֽבְחֵי אֱלֹהִים רוּחַ נִשְׁבָּרָה לֵב־נִשְׁבָּר וְנִדְכֶּה אֱלֹהִים לֹא תִבְזֶֽה׃ zivchei Elohim rucha nishbarah lev-nishbar venidkeh Elohim lo tivzehThe sacrifices of G-d are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O G-d, Thou wilt not despise. כ20 הֵיטִיבָה בִרְצוֹנְךָ אֶת־צִיּוֹן תִּבְנֶה חוֹמוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ heitivah virtzonkha et-tziyon tiveneh chomot yerushalaimDo good in Thy favour unto Zion; build Thou the walls of Jerusalem. כא21 אָז תַּחְפֹּץ זִבְחֵי־צֶדֶק עוֹלָה וְכָלִיל אָז יַעֲלוּ עַל־מִזְבַּחֲךָ פָרִֽים׃ az tachepotz zivchei-tzedek olah vekhalil az yaalu al-mizbachakha farimThen wilt Thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt-offering and whole offering; then will they offer bullocks upon Thine altar.

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha maskil ledavidFor the Leader. Maschil of David; ב2 בְּבוֹא ׀ דּוֹאֵג הָאֲדֹמִי וַיַּגֵּד לְשָׁאוּל וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ בָּא דָוִד אֶל־בֵּית אֲחִימֶֽלֶךְ׃ bevo ׀ doeg haadomi vayaged leshaul vayomer lo ba david el-beit achimelekhwhen Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him: 'David is come to the house of Ahimelech.' ג3 מַה־תִּתְהַלֵּל בְּרָעָה הַגִּבּוֹר חֶסֶד אֵל כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃ mah-titehalel beraah hagibor chesed el kal-hayomWhy boastest thou thyself of evil, O mighty man? The mercy of G-d endureth continually. ד4 הַוּוֹת תַּחְשֹׁב לְשׁוֹנֶךָ כְּתַעַר מְלֻטָּשׁ עֹשֵׂה רְמִיָּֽה׃ hauot tacheshov leshonekha ketaar melutash oseh remiyahThy tongue deviseth destruction; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. ה5 אָהַבְתָּ רָּע מִטּוֹב שֶׁקֶר ׀ מִדַּבֵּר צֶדֶק סֶֽלָה׃ ahavta ra mitov sheker ׀ midaber tzedek selahThou lovest evil more than good; falsehood rather than speaking righteousness. Selah ו6 אָהַבְתָּ כָֽל־דִּבְרֵי־בָלַע לְשׁוֹן מִרְמָֽה׃ ahavta khal-diverei-vala leshon mirmahThou lovest all devouring words, the deceitful tongue. ז7 גַּם־אֵל יִתָּצְךָ לָנֶצַח יַחְתְּךָ וְיִסָּחֲךָ מֵאֹהֶל וְשֵֽׁרֶשְׁךָ מֵאֶרֶץ חַיִּים סֶֽלָה׃ gam-el yitatzekha lanetzach yachtkha veyisachakha meohel veshereshkha meeretz chayim selahG-d will likewise break thee for ever, He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah ח8 וְיִרְאוּ צַדִּיקִים וְיִירָאוּ וְעָלָיו יִשְׂחָֽקוּ׃ veyiru tzadikim veyirau vealayv yischakuThe righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him: ט9 הִנֵּה הַגֶּבֶר לֹא יָשִׂים אֱלֹהִים מָֽעוּזּוֹ וַיִּבְטַח בְּרֹב עָשְׁרוֹ יָעֹז בְּהַוָּתֽוֹ׃ hineh hagever lo yasim Elohim mauzo vayivetach berov ashro yaoz behavato'Lo, this is the man that made not G-d his stronghold; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.' י10 וַאֲנִי ׀ כְּזַיִת רַעֲנָן בְּבֵית אֱלֹהִים בָּטַחְתִּי בְחֶֽסֶד־אֱלֹהִים עוֹלָם וָעֶֽד׃ vaani ׀ kezayit raanan beveit Elohim batachti vechesed-Elohim olam vaedBut as for me, I am like a leafy olive-tree in the house of G-d; I trust in the mercy of G-d for ever and ever. יא11 אוֹדְךָ לְעוֹלָם כִּי עָשִׂיתָ וַאֲקַוֶּה שִׁמְךָ כִֽי־טוֹב נֶגֶד חֲסִידֶֽיךָ׃ odkha leolam ki asita vaakaveh shimkha khi-tov neged chasideikhaI will give Thee thanks for ever, because Thou hast done it; and I will wait for Thy name, for it is good, in the presence of Thy saints.

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַֽל־מָחֲלַת מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha al-machalat maskil ledavidFor the Leader; upon Mahalath. Maschil of David. ב2 אָמַר נָבָל בְּלִבּוֹ אֵין אֱלֹהִים הִֽשְׁחִיתוּ וְהִֽתְעִיבוּ עָוֶל אֵין עֹֽשֵׂה־טֽוֹב׃ amar naval belibo ein Elohim hishchitu vehitivu avel ein oseh-tovThe fool hath said in his heart: 'There is no G-d'; they have dealt corruptly, and have done abominable iniquity; there is none that doeth good. ג3 אֱֽלֹהִים מִשָּׁמַיִם הִשְׁקִיף עַֽל־בְּנֵי אָדָם לִרְאוֹת הֲיֵשׁ מַשְׂכִּיל דֹּרֵשׁ אֶת־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ elohim mishamayim hishkif al-benei adam lirot hayesh maskil doresh et-elohimG-d looked forth from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any man of understanding, that did seek after G-d. ד4 כֻּלּוֹ סָג יַחְדָּו נֶאֱלָחוּ אֵין עֹֽשֵׂה־טוֹב אֵין גַּם־אֶחָֽד׃ kulo sag yachdav neelachu ein oseh-tov ein gam-echadEvery one of them is unclean, they are together become impure; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. ה5 הֲלֹא יָדְעוּ פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן אֹכְלֵי עַמִּי אָכְלוּ לֶחֶם אֱלֹהִים לֹא קָרָֽאוּ׃ halo yadu poalei aven okhlei ami akhlu lechem Elohim lo karau'Shall not the workers of iniquity know it, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and call not upon G-d?' ו6 שָׁם ׀ פָּֽחֲדוּ־פַחַד לֹא־הָיָה פָחַד כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים פִּזַּר עַצְמוֹת חֹנָךְ הֱבִשֹׁתָה כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים מְאָסָֽם׃ sham ׀ pachadu-fachad lo-hayah fachad ki-Elohim pizar atzmot chonakh hevishotah ki-Elohim measamThere are they in great fear, where no fear was; for G-d hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee; Thou hast put them to shame, because G-d hath rejected them. ז7 מִי יִתֵּן מִצִּיּוֹן יְשֻׁעוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּשׁוּב אֱלֹהִים שְׁבוּת עַמּוֹ יָגֵל יַעֲקֹב יִשְׂמַח יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ mi yiten mitziyon yeshuot yisrael beshuv Elohim shevut amo yagel yaakov yismach yisraelOh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When G-d turneth the captivity of His people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.

Maschil of David: ב2 בְּבוֹא הַזִּיפִים וַיֹּאמְרוּ לְשָׁאוּל הֲלֹא דָוִד מִסְתַּתֵּר עִמָּֽנוּ׃ bevo hazifim vayomru leshaul halo david mistater imanuwhen the Ziphites came and said to Saul: 'Doth not David hide himself with us?' ג3 אֱלֹהִים בְּשִׁמְךָ הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי וּבִגְבוּרָתְךָ תְדִינֵֽנִי׃ Elohim beshimkha hoshiyeni uvigvuratkha tedineniO G-d, save me by Thy name, and right me by Thy might. ד4 אֱלֹהִים שְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה לְאִמְרֵי־פִֽי׃ Elohim shema tefilati haazinah leimrei-fiO G-d, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth. ה5 כִּי זָרִים ׀ קָמוּ עָלַי וְֽעָרִיצִים בִּקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי לֹא שָׂמוּ אֱלֹהִים לְנֶגְדָּם סֶֽלָה׃ ki zarim ׀ kamu alay vearitzim bikeshu nafshi lo samu Elohim lenegdam selahFor strangers are risen up against me, and violent men have sought after my soul; they have not set G-d before them. Selah ו6 הִנֵּה אֱלֹהִים עֹזֵר לִי אֲדֹנָי בְּֽסֹמְכֵי נַפְשִֽׁי׃ hineh Elohim ozer li Adonai besomkhei nafshiBehold, G-d is my helper; the L-rd is for me as the upholder of my soul. ז7 ישוב הָרַע לְשֹׁרְרָי בַּאֲמִתְּךָ הַצְמִיתֵֽם׃ yshvv hara leshorray baamitkha hatzmitemHe will requite the evil unto them that lie in wait for me; destroy Thou them in Thy truth. ח8 בִּנְדָבָה אֶזְבְּחָה־לָּךְ אוֹדֶה שִּׁמְךָ יְיָ כִּי־טֽוֹב׃ binedavah ezbchah-lakhe odeh shimekha Adonai ki-tovWith a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto Thee; I will give thanks unto Thy name, O HaShem, for it is good. ט9 כִּי מִכָּל־צָרָה הִצִּילָנִי וּבְאֹיְבַי רָאֲתָה עֵינִֽי׃ ki mikal-tzarah hitzilani uvoyvay raatah einiFor He hath delivered me out of all trouble; and mine eye hath gazed upon mine enemies.

Maschil of David. ב2 הַאֲזִינָה אֱלֹהִים תְּפִלָּתִי וְאַל־תִּתְעַלַּם מִתְּחִנָּתִֽי׃ haazinah Elohim tefilati veal-titealam mitchinatiGive ear, O G-d, to my prayer; and hide not Thyself from my supplication. ג3 הַקְשִׁיבָה לִּי וַעֲנֵנִי אָרִיד בְּשִׂיחִי וְאָהִֽימָה׃ hakshivah li vaaneni arid besichi veahimahAttend unto me, and hear me; I am distraught in my complaint, and will moan; ד4 מִקּוֹל אוֹיֵב מִפְּנֵי עָקַת רָשָׁע כִּי־יָמִיטוּ עָלַי אָוֶן וּבְאַף יִשְׂטְמֽוּנִי׃ mikol oyev mipnei akat rasha ki-yamitu alay aven uvaf yistmuniBecause of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked; for they cast mischief upon me, and in anger they persecute me. ה5 לִבִּי יָחִיל בְּקִרְבִּי וְאֵימוֹת מָוֶת נָפְלוּ עָלָֽי׃ libi yachil bekirbi veeimot mavet naflu alayMy heart doth writhe within me; and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. ו6 יִרְאָה וָרַעַד יָבֹא בִי וַתְּכַסֵּנִי פַּלָּצֽוּת׃ yirah varaad yavo vi vatkhaseni palatzutFear and trembling come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me. ז7 וָאֹמַר מִֽי־יִתֶּן־לִּי אֵבֶר כַּיּוֹנָה אָעוּפָה וְאֶשְׁכֹּֽנָה׃ vaomar mi-yiten-li ever kayonah aufah veeshkonahAnd I said: 'Oh that I had wings like a dove! then would I fly away, and be at rest. ח8 הִנֵּה אַרְחִיק נְדֹד אָלִין בַּמִּדְבָּר סֶֽלָה׃ hineh archik nedod alin bamidebar selahLo, then would I wander far off, I would lodge in the wilderness. A Psalm of David. ב2 שְׁמַע־אֱלֹהִים קוֹלִי בְשִׂיחִי מִפַּחַד אוֹיֵב תִּצֹּר חַיָּֽי׃ shema-Elohim koli vesichi mipachad oyev titzor chayayHear my voice, O G-d, in my complaint; preserve my life from the terror of the enemy. ג3 תַּסְתִּירֵנִי מִסּוֹד מְרֵעִים מֵרִגְשַׁת פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ tasetireni misod mereim merigshat poalei avenHide me from the council of evil-doers; from the tumult of the workers of iniquity; ד4 אֲשֶׁר שָׁנְנוּ כַחֶרֶב לְשׁוֹנָם דָּרְכוּ חִצָּם דָּבָר מָֽר׃ asher shannu khacherev leshonam darekhu chitzam davar marWho have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a poisoned word; ה5 לִירוֹת בַּמִּסְתָּרִים תָּם פִּתְאֹם יֹרֻהוּ וְלֹא יִירָֽאוּ׃ lirot bamisetarim tam piteom yoruhu velo yirauThat they may shoot in secret places at the blameless; suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. ו6 יְחַזְּקוּ־לָמוֹ ׀ דָּבָר רָע יְֽסַפְּרוּ לִטְמוֹן מוֹקְשִׁים אָמְרוּ מִי יִרְאֶה־לָּֽמוֹ׃ yechazku-lamo ׀ davar ra yesapru litmon mokshim amru mi yireh-lamoThey encourage one another in an evil matter; they converse of laying snares secretly; they ask, who would see them. ז7 יַֽחְפְּֽשׂוּ־עוֹלֹת תַּמְנוּ חֵפֶשׂ מְחֻפָּשׂ וְקֶרֶב אִישׁ וְלֵב עָמֹֽק׃ yachpsu-olot tamenu chefes mechupas vekerev ish velev amokThey search out iniquities, they have accomplished a diligent search; even in the inward thought of every one, and the deep heart. ח8 וַיֹּרֵם אֱלֹהִים חֵץ פִּתְאוֹם הָיוּ מַכּוֹתָֽם׃ vayorem Elohim chetz piteom hayu makotamBut G-d doth shoot at them with an arrow suddenly; thence are their wounds. ט9 וַיַּכְשִׁילוּהוּ עָלֵימוֹ לְשׁוֹנָם יִתְנֹדֲדוּ כָּל־רֹאֵה בָֽם׃ vayakheshiluhu aleimo leshonam yitnodadu kal-roeh vamSo they make their own tongue a stumbling unto themselves; all that see them shake the head. י10 וַיִּֽירְאוּ כָּל־אָדָם וַיַּגִּידוּ פֹּעַל אֱלֹהִים וּֽמַעֲשֵׂהוּ הִשְׂכִּֽילוּ׃ vayiru kal-adam vayagidu poal Elohim umaasehu hiskiluAnd all men fear; and they declare the work of G-d, and understand His doing. יא11 יִשְׂמַח צַדִּיק בַּיהוָה וְחָסָה בוֹ וְיִתְהַֽלְלוּ כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵֽב׃ yismach tzadik bayhvah vechasah vo veyithallu kal-yishrei-levThe righteous shall be glad in HaShem, and shall take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

A Song of David. ב2 לְךָ דֻֽמִיָּה תְהִלָּה אֱלֹהִים בְּצִיּוֹן וּלְךָ יְשֻׁלַּם־נֶֽדֶר׃ lekha dumiyah tehilah Elohim betziyon ulkha yeshulam-nederPraise waiteth for Thee, O G-d, in Zion; and unto Thee the vow is performed. ג3 שֹׁמֵעַ תְּפִלָּה עָדֶיךָ כָּל־בָּשָׂר יָבֹֽאוּ׃ shomea tefilah adeikha kal-basar yavouO Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee doth all flesh come. ד4 דִּבְרֵי עֲוֺנֹת גָּבְרוּ מֶנִּי פְּשָׁעֵינוּ אַתָּה תְכַפְּרֵֽם׃ diverei aonot gaveru meni peshaeinu atah tekhapremThe tale of iniquities is too heavy for me; as for our transgressions, Thou wilt pardon them. ה5 אַשְׁרֵי ׀ תִּֽבְחַר וּתְקָרֵב יִשְׁכֹּן חֲצֵרֶיךָ נִשְׂבְּעָה בְּטוּב בֵּיתֶךָ קְדֹשׁ הֵיכָלֶֽךָ׃ ashrei ׀ tivechar utkarev yishkon chatzereikha nisbah betuv beitekha kedosh heikhalekhaHappy is the man whom Thou choosest, and bringest near, that he may dwell in Thy courts; may we be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, the holy place of Thy temple! ו6 נוֹרָאוֹת ׀ בְּצֶדֶק תַּעֲנֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ מִבְטָח כָּל־קַצְוֵי־אֶרֶץ וְיָם רְחֹקִֽים׃ noraot ׀ betzedek taanenu Elohei yishenu mivtach kal-katzvei-eretz veyam rechokimWith wondrous works dost Thou answer us in righteousness, O G-d of our salvation; Thou the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of the far distant seas; ז7 מֵכִין הָרִים בְּכֹחוֹ נֶאְזָר בִּגְבוּרָֽה׃ mekhin harim bekhocho nezar bigevurahWho by Thy strength settest fast the mountains, who art girded about with might; ח8 מַשְׁבִּיחַ ׀ שְׁאוֹן יַמִּים שְׁאוֹן גַּלֵּיהֶם וַהֲמוֹן לְאֻמִּֽים׃ mashbicha ׀ sheon yamim sheon galeihem vahamon leumimWho stillest the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples; ט9 וַיִּירְאוּ ׀ יֹשְׁבֵי קְצָוֺת מֵאוֹתֹתֶיךָ מוֹצָֽאֵי־בֹקֶר וָעֶרֶב תַּרְנִֽין׃ vayiru ׀ yoshvei ketzaot meototeikha motzaei-voker vaerev tareninSo that they that dwell in the uttermost parts stand in awe of Thy signs; Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice. י10 פָּקַדְתָּ הָאָרֶץ ׀ וַתְּשֹׁקְקֶהָ רַבַּת תַּעְשְׁרֶנָּה פֶּלֶג אֱלֹהִים מָלֵא מָיִם תָּכִין דְּגָנָם כִּי־כֵן תְּכִינֶֽהָ׃ pakadta haaretz ׀ vatshokkeha rabat taeshrenah peleg Elohim male mayim takhin deganam ki-khen tekhinehaThou hast remembered the earth, and watered her, greatly enriching her, with the river of G-d that is full of water; Thou preparest them corn, for so preparest Thou her. יא11 תְּלָמֶיהָ רַוֵּה נַחֵת גְּדוּדֶיהָ בִּרְבִיבִים תְּמֹגְגֶנָּה צִמְחָהּ תְּבָרֵֽךְ׃ telameiha raveh nachet gedudeiha birevivim temoggenah tzimchah tevarekhWatering her ridges abundantly, settling down the furrows thereof, Thou makest her soft with showers; Thou blessest the growth thereof. יב12 עִטַּרְתָּ שְׁנַת טוֹבָתֶךָ וּמַעְגָּלֶיךָ יִרְעֲפוּן דָּֽשֶׁן׃ itareta shenat tovatekha umagaleikha yirafun dashenThou crownest the year with Thy goodness; and Thy paths drop fatness. יג13 יִרְעֲפוּ נְאוֹת מִדְבָּר וְגִיל גְּבָעוֹת תַּחְגֹּֽרְנָה׃ yirafu neot midbar vegil gevaot tachegorenahThe pastures of the wilderness do drop; and the hills are girded with joy. יד14 לָבְשׁוּ כָרִים ׀ הַצֹּאן וַעֲמָקִים יַֽעַטְפוּ־בָר יִתְרוֹעֲעוּ אַף־יָשִֽׁירוּ׃ lavshu kharim ׀ hatzon vaamakim yaatfu-var yitroau af-yashiruThe meadows are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, yea, they sing.

Shout unto G-d, all the earth; ב2 זַמְּרוּ כְבֽוֹד־שְׁמוֹ שִׂימוּ כָבוֹד תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃ zamru khevod-shemo simu khavod tehilatoSing praises unto the glory of His name; make His praise glorious. ג3 אִמְרוּ לֵאלֹהִים מַה־נּוֹרָא מַעֲשֶׂיךָ בְּרֹב עֻזְּךָ יְֽכַחֲשׁוּ לְךָ אֹיְבֶֽיךָ׃ imru lelohim mah-nora maaseikha berov uzkha yekhachashu lekha oyveikhaSay unto G-d: 'How tremendous is Thy work! Yea, HaShem will dwell therein for ever. יח18 רֶכֶב אֱלֹהִים רִבֹּתַיִם אַלְפֵי שִׁנְאָן אֲדֹנָי בָם סִינַי בַּקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ rekhev Elohim ribotayim alfei shinan Adonai vam sinay bakodeshThe chariots of G-d are myriads, even thousands upon thousands; the L-rd is among them, as in Sinai, in holiness. יט19 עָלִיתָ לַמָּרוֹם ׀ שָׁבִיתָ שֶּׁבִי לָקַחְתָּ מַתָּנוֹת בָּאָדָם וְאַף סוֹרְרִים לִשְׁכֹּן ׀ יָהּ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ alita lamarom ׀ shavita shevi lakachta matanot baadam veaf sorrim lishkon ׀ yah elohimThou hast ascended on high, Thou hast led captivity captive; Thou hast received gifts among men, yea, among the rebellious also, that HaShem G-d might dwell there. כ20 בָּרוּךְ אֲדֹנָי יוֹם ׀ יוֹם יַֽעֲמָס־לָנוּ הָאֵל יְֽשׁוּעָתֵנוּ סֶֽלָה׃ barukh Adonai yom ׀ yom yaamas-lanu hael yeshuatenu selahBlessed be the L-rd, day by day He beareth our burden, even the G-d who is our salvation. Selah כא21 הָאֵל ׀ לָנוּ אֵל לְֽמוֹשָׁעוֹת וְלֵיהוִה אֲדֹנָי לַמָּוֶת תּוֹצָאֽוֹת׃ hael ׀ lanu el lemoshaot veleihvih Adonai lamavet totzaotG-d is unto us a G-d of deliverances; and unto GOD the L-rd belong the issues of death. כב22 אַךְ־אֱלֹהִים יִמְחַץ רֹאשׁ אֹיְבָיו קָדְקֹד שֵׂעָר מִתְהַלֵּךְ בַּאֲשָׁמָֽיו׃ akh-Elohim yimchatz rosh oyvayv kadkod sear mithalekhe baashamayvSurely G-d will smite through the head of His enemies, the hairy scalp of him that goeth about in his guiltiness. כג23 אָמַר אֲדֹנָי מִבָּשָׁן אָשִׁיב אָשִׁיב מִֽמְּצֻלוֹת יָֽם׃ amar Adonai mibashan ashiv ashiv mimtzulot yamThe L-rd said: 'I will bring back from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea; כד24 לְמַעַן ׀ תִּֽמְחַץ רַגְלְךָ בְּדָם לְשׁוֹן כְּלָבֶיךָ מֵאֹיְבִים מִנֵּֽהוּ׃ lemaan ׀ timechatz raglkha bedam leshon kelaveikha meoyvim minehuThat thy foot may wade through blood, that the tongue of thy dogs may have its portion from thine enemies.' כה25 רָאוּ הֲלִיכוֹתֶיךָ אֱלֹהִים הֲלִיכוֹת אֵלִי מַלְכִּי בַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ rau halikhoteikha Elohim halikhot eli malki vakodeshThey see Thy goings, O G-d, even the goings of my G-d, my King, in holiness. כו26 קִדְּמוּ שָׁרִים אַחַר נֹגְנִים בְּתוֹךְ עֲלָמוֹת תּוֹפֵפֽוֹת׃ kidmu sharim achar nognim betokh alamot tofefotThe singers go before, the minstrels follow after, in the midst of damsels playing upon timbrels. כז27 בְּֽמַקְהֵלוֹת בָּרְכוּ אֱלֹהִים יְיָ מִמְּקוֹר יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ bemakhelot barekhu Elohim Adonai mimkor yisrael'Bless ye G-d in full assemblies, even the L-rd, ye that are from the fountain of Israel.' כח28 שָׁם בִּנְיָמִן ׀ צָעִיר רֹדֵם שָׂרֵי יְהוּדָה רִגְמָתָם שָׂרֵי זְבֻלוּן שָׂרֵי נַפְתָּלִֽי׃ sham bineyamin ׀ tzair rodem sarei yehudah rigmatam sarei zevulun sarei naftaliThere is Benjamin, the youngest, ruling them, the princes of Judah their council, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali. כט29 צִוָּה אֱלֹהֶיךָ עֻזֶּךָ עוּזָּה אֱלֹהִים זוּ פָּעַלְתָּ לָּֽנוּ׃ tzivah eloheikha uzekha uzah Elohim zu paalta lanuThy G-d hath commanded thy strength; be strong, O G-d, Thou that hast wrought for us ל30 מֵֽהֵיכָלֶךָ עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִָם לְךָ יוֹבִילוּ מְלָכִים שָֽׁי׃ meheikhalekha al-yerushalaim lekha yovilu melakhim shayOut of Thy temple at Jerusalem, whither kings shall bring presents unto Thee. לא31 גְּעַר חַיַּת קָנֶה עֲדַת אַבִּירִים ׀ בְּעֶגְלֵי עַמִּים מִתְרַפֵּס בְּרַצֵּי־כָסֶף בִּזַּר עַמִּים קְרָבוֹת יֶחְפָּֽצוּ׃ gear chayat kaneh adat abirim ׀ beeglei amim mitrapes beratzei-khasef bizar amim keravot yechpatzuRebuke the wild beast of the reeds, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the peoples, every one submitting himself with pieces of silver; He hath scattered the peoples that delight in war! לב32 יֶאֱתָיוּ חַשְׁמַנִּים מִנִּי מִצְרָיִם כּוּשׁ תָּרִיץ יָדָיו לֵאלֹהִֽים׃ yeetayu chashmanim mini mitzrayim kush taritz yadayv lelohimNobles shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall hasten to stretch out her hands unto G-d. לג33 מַמְלְכוֹת הָאָרֶץ שִׁירוּ לֵאלֹהִים זַמְּרוּ אֲדֹנָי סֶֽלָה׃ mamlkhot haaretz shiru lelohim zamru Adonai selahSing unto G-d, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the L-rd; Selah לד34 לָרֹכֵב בִּשְׁמֵי שְׁמֵי־קֶדֶם הֵן יִתֵּן בְּקוֹלוֹ קוֹל עֹֽז׃ larokhev bishemei shemei-kedem hen yiten bekolo kol ozTo Him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which are of old; lo, He uttereth His voice, a mighty voice. לה35 תְּנוּ עֹז לֵֽאלֹהִים עַֽל־יִשְׂרָאֵל גַּאֲוָתוֹ וְעֻזּוֹ בַּשְּׁחָקִֽים׃ tenu oz lelohim al-yisrael gaavato veuzo bashechakimAscribe ye strength unto G-d; His majesty is over Israel, and His strength is in the skies. לו36 נוֹרָא אֱלֹהִים מִֽמִּקְדָּשֶׁיךָ אֵל יִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא נֹתֵן ׀ עֹז וְתַעֲצֻמוֹת לָעָם בָּרוּךְ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ nora Elohim mimikedasheikha el yisrael hu noten ׀ oz vetaatzumot laam barukh elohimAwful is G-d out of thy holy places; the G-d of Israel, He giveth strength and power unto the people; blessed be G-d.

A Psalm of David. ב2 הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי אֱלֹהִים כִּי בָאוּ מַיִם עַד־נָֽפֶשׁ׃ hoshiyeni Elohim ki vau mayim ad-nafeshSave me, O G-d; for the waters are come in even unto the soul. ג3 טָבַעְתִּי ׀ בִּיוֵן מְצוּלָה וְאֵין מָעֳמָד בָּאתִי בְמַעֲמַקֵּי־מַיִם וְשִׁבֹּלֶת שְׁטָפָֽתְנִי׃ tavati ׀ biven metzulah veein maomad bati vemaamakei-mayim veshibolet shetafatniI am sunk in deep mire, where there is no standing; I am come into deep waters, and the flood overwhelmeth me. ד4 יָגַעְתִּי בְקָרְאִי נִחַר גְּרוֹנִי כָּלוּ עֵינַי מְיַחֵל לֵאלֹהָֽי׃ yagati vekari nichar geroni kalu einay meyachel lelohayI am weary of my crying; my throat is dried; mine eyes fail while I wait for my G-d. ה5 רַבּוּ ׀ מִשַּׂעֲרוֹת רֹאשִׁי שֹׂנְאַי חִנָּם עָצְמוּ מַצְמִיתַי אֹיְבַי שֶׁקֶר אֲשֶׁר לֹא־גָזַלְתִּי אָז אָשִֽׁיב׃ rabu ׀ misaarot roshi sonay chinam atzmu matzmitay oyvay sheker asher lo-gazalti az ashivThey that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that would cut me off, being mine enemies wrongfully, are many; should I restore that which I took not away? ו6 אֱֽלֹהִים אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ לְאִוַּלְתִּי וְאַשְׁמוֹתַי מִמְּךָ לֹא־נִכְחָֽדוּ׃ elohim atah yadata leivaleti veashmotay mimkha lo-nikhchaduO G-d, Thou knowest my folly; and my trespasses are not hid from Thee. ז7 אַל־יֵבֹשׁוּ בִי ׀ קֹוֶיךָ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה צְבָאוֹת אַל־יִכָּלְמוּ בִי מְבַקְשֶׁיךָ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ al-yevoshu vi ׀ koveikha Adonai Adonai tzevaot al-yikalemu vi mevaksheikha Elohei yisraelLet not them that wait for Thee be ashamed through me, O L-rd GOD of hosts; let not those that seek Thee be brought to confusion through me, O G-d of Israel. ח8 כִּֽי־עָלֶיךָ נָשָׂאתִי חֶרְפָּה כִּסְּתָה כְלִמָּה פָנָֽי׃ ki-aleikha nasati cherpah kisetah khelimah fanayBecause for Thy sake I have borne reproach; confusion hath covered my face. ט9 מוּזָר הָיִיתִי לְאֶחָי וְנָכְרִי לִבְנֵי אִמִּֽי׃ muzar hayiti leechay venakhri livnei imiI am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children. י10 כִּֽי־קִנְאַת בֵּיתְךָ אֲכָלָתְנִי וְחֶרְפּוֹת חוֹרְפֶיךָ נָפְלוּ עָלָֽי׃ ki-kinat beitkha akhalatni vecherpot chorfeikha naflu alayBecause zeal for Thy house hath eaten me up, and the reproaches of them that reproach Thee are fallen upon me. יא11 וָאֶבְכֶּה בַצּוֹם נַפְשִׁי וַתְּהִי לַחֲרָפוֹת לִֽי׃ vaevkeh vatzom nafshi vathi lacharafot liAnd I wept with my soul with fasting, and that became unto me a reproach. יב12 וָאֶתְּנָה לְבוּשִׁי שָׂק וָאֱהִי לָהֶם לְמָשָֽׁל׃ vaetnah levushi sak vaehi lahem lemashalI made sackcloth also my garment, and I became a byword unto them. יג13 יָשִׂיחוּ בִי יֹשְׁבֵי שָׁעַר וּנְגִינוֹת שׁוֹתֵי שֵׁכָֽר׃ yasichu vi yoshvei shaar unginot shotei shekharThey that sit in the gate talk of me; and I am the song of the drunkards. יד14 וַאֲנִי תְפִלָּתִֽי־לְךָ ׀ יְיָ עֵת רָצוֹן אֱלֹהִים בְּרָב־חַסְדֶּךָ עֲנֵנִי בֶּאֱמֶת יִשְׁעֶֽךָ׃ vaani tefilati-lekha ׀ Adonai et ratzon Elohim berav-chasdekha aneni beemet yishekhaBut as for me, let my prayer be unto Thee, O HaShem, in an acceptable time; O G-d, in the abundance of Thy mercy, answer me with the truth of Thy salvation. טו15 הַצִּילֵנִי מִטִּיט וְאַל־אֶטְבָּעָה אִנָּצְלָה מִשֹּֽׂנְאַי וּמִמַּֽעֲמַקֵּי־מָֽיִם׃ hatzileni mitit veal-etbaah inatzelah misoneay umimaamakei-mayimDeliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. טז16 אַל־תִּשְׁטְפֵנִי ׀ שִׁבֹּלֶת מַיִם וְאַל־תִּבְלָעֵנִי מְצוּלָה וְאַל־תֶּאְטַר־עָלַי בְּאֵר פִּֽיהָ׃ al-tishetfeni ׀ shibolet mayim veal-tivelaeni metzulah veal-teetar-alay beer pihaLet not the waterflood overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. יז17 עֲנֵנִי יְיָ כִּי־טוֹב חַסְדֶּךָ כְּרֹב רַחֲמֶיךָ פְּנֵה אֵלָֽי׃ aneni Adonai ki-tov chasdekha kerov rachameikha peneh elayAnswer me, O HaShem, for Thy mercy is good; according to the multitude of Thy compassions turn Thou unto me. יח18 וְאַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מֵֽעַבְדֶּךָ כִּֽי־צַר־לִי מַהֵר עֲנֵֽנִי׃ veal-taseter paneikha meavdekha ki-tzar-li maher aneniAnd hide not Thy face from Thy servant; for I am in distress; answer me speedily. יט19 קָרְבָה אֶל־נַפְשִׁי גְאָלָהּ לְמַעַן אֹיְבַי פְּדֵֽנִי׃ karvah el-nafshi gealah lemaan oyvay pedeniDraw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it; ransom me because of mine enemies. כ20 אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ חֶרְפָּתִי וּבָשְׁתִּי וּכְלִמָּתִי נֶגְדְּךָ כָּל־צוֹרְרָֽי׃ atah yadata cherpati uvashti ukhlimati negdkha kal-tzorrayThou knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my confusion; mine adversaries are all before Thee. כא21 חֶרְפָּה ׀ שָֽׁבְרָה לִבִּי וָֽאָנוּשָׁה וָאֲקַוֶּה לָנוּד וָאַיִן וְלַמְנַחֲמִים וְלֹא מָצָֽאתִי׃ cherpah ׀ shavrah libi vaanushah vaakaveh lanud vaayin velamnachamim velo matzatiReproach hath broken my heart; and I am sore sick; and I looked for some to show compassion, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. כב22 וַיִּתְּנוּ בְּבָרוּתִי רֹאשׁ וְלִצְמָאִי יַשְׁקוּנִי חֹֽמֶץ׃ vayitenu bevaruti rosh velitzmai yashkuni chometzYea, they put poison into my food; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. כג23 יְהִֽי־שֻׁלְחָנָם לִפְנֵיהֶם לְפָח וְלִשְׁלוֹמִים לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃ yehi-shulchanam lifneihem lefach velishlomim lemokeshLet their table before them become a snare; and when they are in peace, let it become a trap. כד24 תֶּחְשַׁכְנָה עֵינֵיהֶם מֵרְאוֹת וּמָתְנֵיהֶם תָּמִיד הַמְעַֽד׃ techeshakhnah eineihem merot umatneihem tamid hamadLet their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to totter. כה25 שְׁפָךְ־עֲלֵיהֶם זַעְמֶךָ וַחֲרוֹן אַפְּךָ יַשִּׂיגֵֽם׃ shefakh-aleihem zamekha vacharon apkha yasigemPour out Thine indignation upon them, and let the fierceness of Thine anger overtake them. כו26 תְּהִי־טִֽירָתָם נְשַׁמָּה בְּאָהֳלֵיהֶם אַל־יְהִי יֹשֵֽׁב׃ tehi-tiratam neshamah beaholeihem al-yehi yoshevLet their encampment be desolate; let none dwell in their tents. כז27 כִּֽי־אַתָּה אֲשֶׁר־הִכִּיתָ רָדָפוּ וְאֶל־מַכְאוֹב חֲלָלֶיךָ יְסַפֵּֽרוּ׃ ki-atah asher-hikita radafu veel-makhov chalaleikha yesaperuFor they persecute him whom Thou hast smitten; and they tell of the pain of those whom Thou hast wounded. כח28 תְּֽנָה־עָוֺן עַל־עֲוֺנָם וְאַל־יָבֹאוּ בְּצִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ tenah-aon al-aonam veal-yavou betzidkatekhaAdd iniquity unto their iniquity; and let them not come into Thy righteousness. כט29 יִמָּחֽוּ מִסֵּפֶר חַיִּים וְעִם צַדִּיקִים אַל־יִכָּתֵֽבוּ׃ yimachu misefer chayim veim tzadikim al-yikatevuLet them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. ל30 וַאֲנִי עָנִי וְכוֹאֵב יְשׁוּעָתְךָ אֱלֹהִים תְּשַׂגְּבֵֽנִי׃ vaani ani vekhoev yeshuatkha Elohim tesagveniBut I am afflicted and in pain; let Thy salvation, O G-d, set me up on high. לא31 אֲהַֽלְלָה שֵׁם־אֱלֹהִים בְּשִׁיר וַאֲגַדְּלֶנּוּ בְתוֹדָֽה׃ ahallah shem-Elohim beshir vaagadlenu vetodahI will praise the name of G-d with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. לב32 וְתִיטַב לַֽיהוָה מִשּׁוֹר פָּר מַקְרִן מַפְרִֽיס׃ vetitav layhvah mishor par makrin mafrisAnd it shall please HaShem better than a bullock that hath horns and hoofs. לג33 רָאוּ עֲנָוִים יִשְׂמָחוּ דֹּרְשֵׁי אֱלֹהִים וִיחִי לְבַבְכֶֽם׃ rau anavim yismachu doreshei Elohim vichi levavkhemThe humble shall see it, and be glad; ye that seek after G-d, let your heart revive. לד34 כִּֽי־שֹׁמֵעַ אֶל־אֶבְיוֹנִים יְיָ וְאֶת־אֲסִירָיו לֹא בָזָֽה׃ ki-shomea el-evyonim Adonai veet-asirayv lo vazahFor HaShem hearkeneth unto the needy, and despiseth not His prisoners. לה35 יְֽהַלְלוּהוּ שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ יַמִּים וְֽכָל־רֹמֵשׂ בָּֽם׃ yehalluhu shamayim vaaretz yamim vekhal-romes bamLet heaven and earth praise Him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein. לו36 כִּי אֱלֹהִים ׀ יוֹשִׁיעַ צִיּוֹן וְיִבְנֶה עָרֵי יְהוּדָה וְיָשְׁבוּ שָׁם וִירֵשֽׁוּהָ׃ ki Elohim ׀ yoshiya tziyon veyivneh arei yehudah veyashvu sham vireshuhaFor G-d will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah; and they shall abide there, and have it in possession. לז37 וְזֶרַע עֲבָדָיו יִנְחָלוּהָ וְאֹהֲבֵי שְׁמוֹ יִשְׁכְּנוּ־בָֽהּ׃ vezera avadayv yinchaluha veohavei shemo yishknu-vahThe seed also of His servants shall inherit it; and they that love His name shall dwell therein.

A Psalm of David; to make memorial. ב2 אֱלֹהִים לְהַצִּילֵנִי יְיָ לְעֶזְרָתִי חֽוּשָֽׁה׃ Elohim lehatzileni Adonai leezrati chushahO G-d, to deliver me, O HaShem, to help me, make haste. ג3 יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיַחְפְּרוּ מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי יִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר וְיִכָּלְמוּ חֲפֵצֵי רָעָתִֽי׃ yevoshu veyachpru mevakshei nafshi yisogu achor veyikalemu chafetzei raatiLet them be ashamed and abashed that seek after my soul; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that delight in my hurt. ד4 יָשׁוּבוּ עַל־עֵקֶב בָּשְׁתָּם הָאֹמְרִים הֶאָח ׀ הֶאָֽח׃ yashuvu al-ekev bashetam haomrim heach ׀ heachLet them be turned back by reason of their shame that say: 'Aha, aha.' ה5 יָשִׂישׂוּ וְיִשְׂמְחוּ ׀ בְּךָ כָּֽל־מְבַקְשֶׁיךָ וְיֹאמְרוּ תָמִיד יִגְדַּל אֱלֹהִים אֹהֲבֵי יְשׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃ yasisu veyismchu ׀ bekha kal-mevaksheikha veyomru tamid yigdal Elohim ohavei yeshuatekhaLet all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; and let such as love Thy salvation say continually: 'Let G-d be magnified.' ו6 וַאֲנִי ׀ עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן אֱלֹהִים חֽוּשָׁה־לִּי עֶזְרִי וּמְפַלְטִי אַתָּה יְיָ אַל־תְּאַחַֽר׃ vaani ׀ ani veevyon Elohim chushah-li ezri umfalti atah Adonai al-teacharBut I am poor and needy; O G-d, make haste unto me; Thou art my help and my deliverer; O HaShem, tarry not.

א1 בְּךָֽ־יְיָ חָסִיתִי אַל־אֵבוֹשָׁה לְעוֹלָֽם׃ bekha-Adonai chasiti al-evoshah leolamIn Thee, O HaShem, have I taken refuge; let me never be ashamed. ב2 בְּצִדְקָתְךָ תַּצִּילֵנִי וּֽתְפַלְּטֵנִי הַטֵּֽה־אֵלַי אָזְנְךָ וְהוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃ betzidkatkha tatzileni utfalteni hateh-elay aznkha vehoshiyeniDeliver me in Thy righteousness, and rescue me; incline Thine ear unto me, and save me. ג3 הֱיֵה לִי ׀ לְצוּר מָעוֹן לָבוֹא תָּמִיד צִוִּיתָ לְהוֹשִׁיעֵנִי כִּֽי־סַלְעִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אָֽתָּה׃ heyeh li ׀ letzur maon lavo tamid tzivita lehoshiyeni ki-sali umtzudati atahBe Thou to me a sheltering rock, whereunto I may continually resort, which Thou hast appointed to save me; for Thou art my rock and my fortress. ד4 אֱֽלֹהַי פַּלְּטֵנִי מִיַּד רָשָׁע מִכַּף מְעַוֵּל וְחוֹמֵץ׃ elohay paleteni miyad rasha mikaf meavel vechometzO my G-d, rescue me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the unrighteous and ruthless man. ה5 כִּֽי־אַתָּה תִקְוָתִי אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה מִבְטַחִי מִנְּעוּרָֽי׃ ki-atah tikvati Adonai Adonai mivtachi minurayFor Thou art my hope; O L-rd GOD, my trust from my youth. ו6 עָלֶיךָ ׀ נִסְמַכְתִּי מִבֶּטֶן מִמְּעֵי אִמִּי אַתָּה גוֹזִי בְּךָ תְהִלָּתִי תָמִֽיד׃ aleikha ׀ nismakhti mibeten mimei imi atah gozi bekha tehilati tamidUpon Thee have I stayed myself from birth; Thou art he that took me out of my mother's womb; my praise is continually of Thee. ז7 כְּמוֹפֵת הָיִיתִי לְרַבִּים וְאַתָּה מַֽחֲסִי־עֹֽז׃ kemofet hayiti lerabim veatah machasi-ozI am as a wonder unto many; but Thou art my strong refuge. ח8 יִמָּלֵא פִי תְּהִלָּתֶךָ כָּל־הַיּוֹם תִּפְאַרְתֶּֽךָ׃ yimale fi tehilatekha kal-hayom tifeartekhaMy mouth shall be filled with Thy praise, and with Thy glory all the day. ט9 אַֽל־תַּשְׁלִיכֵנִי לְעֵת זִקְנָה כִּכְלוֹת כֹּחִי אַֽל־תַּעַזְבֵֽנִי׃ al-tashelikheni leet ziknah kikhelot kochi al-taazveniCast me not off in the time of old age; when my strength faileth, forsake me not. י10 כִּֽי־אָמְרוּ אוֹיְבַי לִי וְשֹׁמְרֵי נַפְשִׁי נוֹעֲצוּ יַחְדָּֽו׃ ki-amru oyvay li veshomrei nafshi noatzu yachdavFor mine enemies speak concerning me, and they that watch for my soul take counsel together, יא11 לֵאמֹר אֱלֹהִים עֲזָבוֹ רִֽדְפוּ וְתִפְשׂוּהוּ כִּי־אֵין מַצִּֽיל׃ lemor Elohim azavo ridfu vetifsuhu ki-ein matzilSaying: 'G-d hath forsaken him; pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.' יב12 אֱלֹהִים אַל־תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי אֱלֹהַי לְעֶזְרָתִי חישה׃ Elohim al-tirechak mimeni elohay leezrati chyshhO G-d, be not far from me; O my G-d, make haste to help me. יג13 יֵבֹשׁוּ יִכְלוּ שֹׂטְנֵי נַפְשִׁי יַֽעֲטוּ חֶרְפָּה וּכְלִמָּה מְבַקְשֵׁי רָעָתִֽי׃ yevoshu yikhlu sotnei nafshi yaatu cherpah ukhlimah mevakshei raatiLet them be ashamed and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and confusion that seek my hurt. יד14 וַאֲנִי תָּמִיד אֲיַחֵל וְהוֹסַפְתִּי עַל־כָּל־תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ vaani tamid ayachel vehosafti al-kal-tehilatekhaBut as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise Thee yet more and more. טו15 פִּי ׀ יְסַפֵּר צִדְקָתֶךָ כָּל־הַיּוֹם תְּשׁוּעָתֶךָ כִּי לֹא יָדַעְתִּי סְפֹרֽוֹת׃ pi ׀ yesaper tzidkatekha kal-hayom teshuatekha ki lo yadati seforotMy mouth shall tell of Thy righteousness, and of Thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. טז16 אָבוֹא בִּגְבֻרוֹת אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה אַזְכִּיר צִדְקָתְךָ לְבַדֶּֽךָ׃ avo bigevurot Adonai Adonai azkir tzidkatkha levadekhaI will come with Thy mighty acts, O L-rd GOD; I will make mention of Thy righteousness, even of Thine only. יז17 אֱֽלֹהִים לִמַּדְתַּנִי מִנְּעוּרָי וְעַד־הֵנָּה אַגִּיד נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ elohim limadetani minuray vead-henah agid nifloteikhaO G-d, Thou hast taught me from my youth; and until now do I declare Thy wondrous works. יח18 וְגַם עַד־זִקְנָה ׀ וְשֵׂיבָה אֱלֹהִים אַֽל־תַּעַזְבֵנִי עַד־אַגִּיד זְרוֹעֲךָ לְדוֹר לְכָל־יָבוֹא גְּבוּרָתֶֽךָ׃ vegam ad-ziknah ׀ veseivah Elohim al-taazveni ad-agid zeroakha ledor lekhal-yavo gevuratekhaAnd even unto old age and hoary hairs, O G-d, forsake me not; until I have declared Thy strength unto the next generation, Thy might to every one that is to come. יט19 וְצִדְקָתְךָ אֱלֹהִים עַד־מָרוֹם אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂיתָ גְדֹלוֹת אֱלֹהִים מִי כָמֽוֹךָ׃ vetzidkatkha Elohim ad-marom asher-asita gedolot Elohim mi khamokhaThy righteousness also, O G-d, which reacheth unto high heaven; Thou who hast done great things, O G-d, who is like unto Thee? כ20 אֲשֶׁר הראיתנו ׀ צָרוֹת רַבּוֹת וְרָעוֹת תָּשׁוּב תחיינו וּֽמִתְּהֹמוֹת הָאָרֶץ תָּשׁוּב תַּעֲלֵֽנִי׃ asher hrytnv ׀ tzarot rabot veraot tashuv tchyynv umithomot haaretz tashuv taaleniThou, who hast made me to see many and sore troubles, wilt quicken me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth. כא21 תֶּרֶב ׀ גְּֽדֻלָּתִי וְתִסֹּב תְּֽנַחֲמֵֽנִי׃ terev ׀ gedulati vetisov tenachameniThou wilt increase my greatness, and turn and comfort me. כב22 גַּם־אֲנִי ׀ אוֹדְךָ בִכְלִי־נֶבֶל אֲמִתְּךָ אֱלֹהָי אֲזַמְּרָה לְךָ בְכִנּוֹר קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ gam-ani ׀ odkha vikhli-nevel amitkha elohay azamrah lekha vekhinor kedosh yisraelI also will give thanks unto Thee with the psaltery, even unto Thy truth, O my G-d; I will sing praises unto Thee with the harp, O Thou Holy One of Israel. כג23 תְּרַנֵּנָּה שְׂפָתַי כִּי אֲזַמְּרָה־לָּךְ וְנַפְשִׁי אֲשֶׁר פָּדִֽיתָ׃ teranenah sefatay ki azamrah-lakhe venafshi asher paditaMy lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing praises unto Thee; and my soul, which Thou hast redeemed. כד24 גַּם־לְשׁוֹנִי כָּל־הַיּוֹם תֶּהְגֶּה צִדְקָתֶךָ כִּי־בֹשׁוּ כִֽי־חָפְרוּ מְבַקְשֵׁי רָעָתִֽי׃ gam-leshoni kal-hayom tehegeh tzidkatekha ki-voshu khi-chafru mevakshei raatiMy tongue also shall tell of Thy righteousness all the day; for they are ashamed, for they are abashed, that seek my hurt.

א1 לִשְׁלֹמֹה ׀ אֱֽלֹהִים מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ לְמֶלֶךְ תֵּן וְצִדְקָתְךָ לְבֶן־מֶֽלֶךְ׃ lishlomoh ׀ elohim mishpateikha lemelekh ten vetzidkatkha leven-melekhA Psalm of Solomon. Give the king Thy judgments, O G-d, and Thy righteousness unto the king's son; ב2 יָדִין עַמְּךָ בְצֶדֶק וַעֲנִיֶּיךָ בְמִשְׁפָּֽט׃ yadin amkha vetzedek vaaniyeikha vemishpatThat he may judge Thy people with righteousness, and Thy poor with justice. ג3 יִשְׂאוּ הָרִים שָׁלוֹם לָעָם וּגְבָעוֹת בִּצְדָקָֽה׃ yisu harim shalom laam ugvaot bitzedakahLet the mountains bear peace to the people, and the hills, through righteousness. ד4 יִשְׁפֹּט ׀ עֲֽנִיֵּי־עָם יוֹשִׁיעַ לִבְנֵי אֶבְיוֹן וִֽידַכֵּא עוֹשֵֽׁק׃ yishpot ׀ aniyei-am yoshiya livnei evyon vidake oshekMay he judge the poor of the people, and save the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor. ה5 יִֽירָאוּךָ עִם־שָׁמֶשׁ וְלִפְנֵי יָרֵחַ דּוֹר דּוֹרִֽים׃ yiraukha im-shamesh velifnei yarecha dor dorimThey shall fear Thee while the sun endureth, and so long as the moon, throughout all generations. ו6 יֵרֵד כְּמָטָר עַל־גֵּז כִּרְבִיבִים זַרְזִיף אָֽרֶץ׃ yered kematar al-gez kirevivim zarzif aretzMay he come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth. ז7 יִֽפְרַח־בְּיָמָיו צַדִּיק וְרֹב שָׁלוֹם עַד־בְּלִי יָרֵֽחַ׃ yifrach-beyamayv tzadik verov shalom ad-beli yarechaIn his days let the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace, till the moon be no more. ח8 וְיֵרְדְּ מִיָּם עַד־יָם וּמִנָּהָר עַד־אַפְסֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ veyerd miyam ad-yam uminahar ad-afsei-aretzMay he have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the River unto the ends of the earth. ט9 לְפָנָיו יִכְרְעוּ צִיִּים וְאֹיְבָיו עָפָר יְלַחֵֽכוּ׃ lefanayv yikhru tziyim veoyvayv afar yelachekhuLet them that dwell in the wilderness bow before him; and his enemies lick the dust. י10 מַלְכֵי תַרְשִׁישׁ וְאִיִּים מִנְחָה יָשִׁיבוּ מַלְכֵי שְׁבָא וּסְבָא אֶשְׁכָּר יַקְרִֽיבוּ׃ malkhei tarshish veiyim minchah yashivu malkhei sheva usva eshkar yakrivuThe kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall render tribute; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. יא11 וְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־לוֹ כָל־מְלָכִים כָּל־גּוֹיִם יַֽעַבְדֽוּהוּ׃ veyishtachavu-lo khal-melakhim kal-goyim yaavduhuYea, all kings shall prostrate themselves before him; all nations shall serve him. יב12 כִּֽי־יַצִּיל אֶבְיוֹן מְשַׁוֵּעַ וְעָנִי וְֽאֵין־עֹזֵר לֽוֹ׃ ki-yatzil evyon meshavea veani veein-ozer loFor he will deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. יג13 יָחֹס עַל־דַּל וְאֶבְיוֹן וְנַפְשׁוֹת אֶבְיוֹנִים יוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ yachos al-dal veevyon venafshot evyonim yoshiyaHe will have pity on the poor and needy, and the souls of the needy he will save. יד14 מִתּוֹךְ וּמֵחָמָס יִגְאַל נַפְשָׁם וְיֵיקַר דָּמָם בְּעֵינָֽיו׃ mitokh umechamas yigal nafsham veyeikar damam beeinayvHe will redeem their soul from oppression and violence, and precious will their blood be in his sight. טו15 וִיחִי וְיִתֶּן־לוֹ מִזְּהַב שְׁבָא וְיִתְפַּלֵּל בַּעֲדוֹ תָמִיד כָּל־הַיּוֹם יְבָרֲכֶֽנְהֽוּ׃ vichi veyiten-lo mizhav sheva veyitpalel baado tamid kal-hayom yevarakhenhuThat they may live, and that he may give them of the gold of Sheba, that they may pray for him continually, yea, bless him all the day. טז16 יְהִי פִסַּת־בַּר ׀ בָּאָרֶץ בְּרֹאשׁ הָרִים יִרְעַשׁ כַּלְּבָנוֹן פִּרְיוֹ וְיָצִיצוּ מֵעִיר כְּעֵשֶׂב הָאָֽרֶץ׃ yehi fisat-bar ׀ baaretz berosh harim yirash kalevanon pireyo veyatzitzu meir keesev haaretzMay he be as a rich cornfield in the land upon the top of the mountains; may his fruit rustle like Lebanon; and may they blossom out of the city like grass of the earth. יז17 יְהִי שְׁמוֹ לְֽעוֹלָם לִפְנֵי־שֶׁמֶשׁ ינין שְׁמוֹ וְיִתְבָּרְכוּ בוֹ כָּל־גּוֹיִם יְאַשְּׁרֽוּהוּ׃ yehi shemo leolam lifnei-shemesh ynyn shemo veyitbarekhu vo kal-goyim yeashruhuMay his name endure for ever; may his name be continued as long as the sun; may men also bless themselves by him; may all nations call him happy. יח18 בָּרוּךְ ׀ יְיָ אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עֹשֵׂה נִפְלָאוֹת לְבַדּֽוֹ׃ barukh ׀ Adonai Elohim Elohei yisrael oseh niflaot levadoBlessed be HaShem G-d, the G-d of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things; יט19 וּבָרוּךְ ׀ שֵׁם כְּבוֹדוֹ לְעוֹלָם וְיִמָּלֵא כְבוֹדוֹ אֶת־כֹּל הָאָרֶץ אָמֵן ׀ וְאָמֵֽן׃ uvarukh ׀ shem kevodo leolam veyimale khevodo et-kol haaretz amen ׀ veamenAnd blessed be His glorious name for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
