א1 אָהַבְתִּי כִּֽי־יִשְׁמַע ׀ יְיָ אֶת־קוֹלִי תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃ ahavti ki-yishma ׀ Adonai et-koli tachanunayI love that HaShem should hear my voice and my supplications. ב2 כִּֽי־הִטָּה אָזְנוֹ לִי וּבְיָמַי אֶקְרָֽא׃ ki-hitah azno li uvyamay ekraBecause He hath inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him all my days. ג3 אֲפָפוּנִי ׀ חֶבְלֵי־מָוֶת וּמְצָרֵי שְׁאוֹל מְצָאוּנִי צָרָה וְיָגוֹן אֶמְצָֽא׃ afafuni ׀ chevlei-mavet umtzarei sheol metzauni tzarah veyagon emtzaThe cords of death compassed me, and the straits of the nether-world got hold upon me; I found trouble and sorrow. ד4 וּבְשֵֽׁם־יְיָ אֶקְרָא אָנָּה יְיָ מַלְּטָה נַפְשִֽׁי׃ uvshem-Adonai ekra anah Adonai maltah nafshiBut I called upon the name of HaShem: 'I beseech thee, O HaShem, deliver my soul.' ה5 חַנּוּן יְהֹוָה וְצַדִּיק וֵאלֹהֵינוּ מְרַחֵֽם׃ chanun Adonai vetzadik veloheinu merachemGracious is HaShem, and righteous; yea, our G-d is compassionate. ו6 שֹׁמֵר פְּתָאיִם יְהֹוָה דַּלּוֹתִי וְלִי יְהוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ shomer petayim Adonai daloti veli yehoshiyaHaShem preserveth the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. ז7 שׁוּבִי נַפְשִׁי לִמְנוּחָיְכִי כִּֽי־יְיָ גָּמַל עָלָֽיְכִי׃ shuvi nafshi limnuchaykhi ki-Adonai gamal alaykhiReturn, O my soul, unto Thy rest; for HaShem hath dealt bountifully with thee. ח8 כִּי חִלַּצְתָּ נַפְשִׁי מִמָּוֶת אֶת־עֵינִי מִן־דִּמְעָה אֶת־רַגְלִי מִדֶּֽחִי׃ ki chilatzeta nafshi mimavet et-eini min-dimeah et-ragli midechiFor thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling. ט9 אֶתְהַלֵּךְ לִפְנֵי יְיָ בְּאַרְצוֹת הַֽחַיִּֽים׃ ethalekhe lifnei Adonai beartzot hachayimI shall walk before HaShem in the lands of the living. י10 הֶאֱמַנְתִּי כִּי אֲדַבֵּר אֲנִי עָנִיתִי מְאֹֽד׃ heemanti ki adaber ani aniti meodI trusted even when I spoke: 'I am greatly afflicted.' יא11 אֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי בְחָפְזִי כָּֽל־הָאָדָם כֹּזֵֽב׃ ani amarti vechafzi kal-haadam kozevI said in my haste: 'All men are liars.' יב12 מָֽה־אָשִׁיב לַיהוָה כָּֽל־תַּגְמוּלוֹהִי עָלָֽי׃ mah-ashiv layhvah kal-tagemulohi alayHow can I repay unto HaShem all His bountiful dealings toward me? יג13 כּוֹס־יְשׁוּעוֹת אֶשָּׂא וּבְשֵׁם יְיָ אֶקְרָֽא׃ kos-yeshuot esa uvshem Adonai ekraI will lift up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of HaShem. יד14 נְדָרַי לַיהוָה אֲשַׁלֵּם נֶגְדָה־נָּא לְכָל־עַמּֽוֹ׃ nedaray layhvah ashalem negdah-na lekhal-amoMy vows will I pay unto HaShem, yea, in the presence of all His people. טו15 יָקָר בְּעֵינֵי יְיָ הַמָּוְתָה לַחֲסִידָֽיו׃ yakar beeinei Adonai hamavetah lachasidayvPrecious in the sight of HaShem is the death of His saints. טז16 אָֽנָּה יְיָ כִּֽי־אֲנִי עַבְדֶּךָ אֲֽנִי־עַבְדְּךָ בֶּן־אֲמָתֶךָ פִּתַּחְתָּ לְמוֹסֵרָֽי׃ anah Adonai ki-ani avdekha ani-avdkha ben-amatekha pitacheta lemoserayI beseech Thee, O HaShem, for I am Thy servant; I am Thy servant, the son of Thy handmaid; Thou hast loosed my bands. יז17 לְֽךָ־אֶזְבַּח זֶבַח תּוֹדָה וּבְשֵׁם יְיָ אֶקְרָֽא׃ lekha-ezbach zevach todah uvshem Adonai ekraI will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of HaShem. יח18 נְדָרַי לַיהוָה אֲשַׁלֵּם נֶגְדָה־נָּא לְכָל־עַמּֽוֹ׃ nedaray layhvah ashalem negdah-na lekhal-amoI will pay my vows unto HaShem, yea, in the presence of all His people; יט19 בְּחַצְרוֹת ׀ בֵּית יְיָ בְּֽתוֹכֵכִי יְֽרוּשָׁלִָם הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ bechatzrot ׀ beit Adonai betokhekhi yerushalaim hallu-yahIn the courts of HaShem'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
