א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל־שׁוּשַׁן עֵדוּת מִכְתָּם לְדָוִד לְלַמֵּֽד׃ lamnatzecha al-shushan edut mikhtam ledavid lelamedFor the Leader; upon Shushan Eduth; Michtam of David, to teach; ב2 בְּהַצּוֹתוֹ ׀ אֶת אֲרַם נַהֲרַיִם וְאֶת־אֲרַם צוֹבָה וַיָּשָׁב יוֹאָב וַיַּךְ אֶת־אֱדוֹם בְּגֵיא־מֶלַח שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר אָֽלֶף׃ behatzoto ׀ et aram naharayim veet-aram tzovah vayashav yoav vayakhe et-edom begei-melach sheneim asar alefwhen he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt twelve thousand. ג3 אֱלֹהִים זְנַחְתָּנוּ פְרַצְתָּנוּ אָנַפְתָּ תְּשׁוֹבֵב לָֽנוּ׃ Elohim zenachtanu feratztanu anafta teshovev lanuO G-d, Thou hast cast us off, Thou hast broken us down; Thou hast been angry; O restore us. ד4 הִרְעַשְׁתָּה אֶרֶץ פְּצַמְתָּהּ רְפָה שְׁבָרֶיהָ כִי־מָֽטָה׃ hirashtah eretz petzamtah refah shevareiha khi-matahThou hast made the land to shake, Thou hast cleft it; heal the breaches thereof; for it tottereth. ה5 הִרְאִיתָה עַמְּךָ קָשָׁה הִשְׁקִיתָנוּ יַיִן תַּרְעֵלָֽה׃ hiritah amkha kashah hishkitanu yayin tareelahThou hast made Thy people to see hard things; Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering. ו6 נָתַתָּה לִּירֵאֶיךָ נֵּס לְהִתְנוֹסֵס מִפְּנֵי קֹשֶׁט סֶֽלָה׃ natatah lireeikha nes lehitnoses mipnei koshet selahThou hast given a banner to them that fear Thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah ז7 לְמַעַן יֵחָלְצוּן יְדִידֶיךָ הוֹשִׁיעָה יְמִֽינְךָ ועננו׃ lemaan yechaltzun yedideikha hoshiyah yeminkha vnnvThat Thy beloved may be delivered, save with Thy right hand, and answer me. ח8 אֱלֹהִים ׀ דִּבֶּר בְּקָדְשׁוֹ אֶעְלֹזָה אֲחַלְּקָה שְׁכֶם וְעֵמֶק סֻכּוֹת אֲמַדֵּֽד׃ Elohim ׀ diber bekadsho elozah achalkah shekhem veemek sukot amadedG-d spoke in His holiness, that I would exult; that I would divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. ט9 לִי גִלְעָד ׀ וְלִי מְנַשֶּׁה וְאֶפְרַיִם מָעוֹז רֹאשִׁי יְהוּדָה מְחֹֽקְקִי׃ li gilad ׀ veli menasheh veefrayim maoz roshi yehudah mechokkiGilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of my head; Judah is my sceptre. י10 מוֹאָב ׀ סִיר רַחְצִי עַל־אֱדוֹם אַשְׁלִיךְ נַעֲלִי עָלַי פְּלֶשֶׁת הִתְרֹעָֽעִֽי׃ moav ׀ sir rachtzi al-edom ashlikh naali alay peleshet hitroaiMoab is my washpot; upon Edom do I cast my shoe; Philistia, cry aloud because of me! יא11 מִי יֹבִלֵנִי עִיר מָצוֹר מִי נָחַנִי עַד־אֱדֽוֹם׃ mi yovileni ir matzor mi nachani ad-edomWho will bring me into the fortified city? Who will lead me unto Edom? יב12 הֲלֹֽא־אַתָּה אֱלֹהִים זְנַחְתָּנוּ וְֽלֹא־תֵצֵא אֱלֹהִים בְּצִבְאוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ halo-atah Elohim zenachtanu velo-tetze Elohim betzivoteinuHast not Thou, O G-d, cast us off? And Thou goest not forth, O G-d, with our hosts. יג13 הָֽבָה־לָּנוּ עֶזְרָת מִצָּר וְשָׁוְא תְּשׁוּעַת אָדָם׃ havah-lanu ezrat mitzar veshav teshuat adamGive us help against the adversary; for vain is the help of man. יד14 בֵּֽאלֹהִים נַעֲשֶׂה־חָיִל וְהוּא יָבוּס צָרֵֽינוּ׃ belohim naaseh-chayil vehu yavus tzareinuThrough G-d we shall do valiantly; for He it is that will tread down our adversaries.

A Psalm of David. ב2 שִׁמְעָה אֱלֹהִים רִנָּתִי הַקְשִׁיבָה תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃ shimah Elohim rinati hakshivah tefilatiHear my cry, O G-d; attend unto my prayer. ג3 מִקְצֵה הָאָרֶץ ׀ אֵלֶיךָ אֶקְרָא בַּעֲטֹף לִבִּי בְּצוּר־יָרוּם מִמֶּנִּי תַנְחֵֽנִי׃ miktzeh haaretz ׀ eleikha ekra baatof libi betzur-yarum mimeni tancheniFrom the end of the earth will I call unto Thee, when my heart fainteth; lead me to a rock that is too high for me. ד4 כִּֽי־הָיִיתָ מַחְסֶה לִי מִגְדַּל־עֹז מִפְּנֵי אוֹיֵֽב׃ ki-hayita machseh li migdal-oz mipnei oyevFor Thou hast been a refuge for me, a tower of strength in the face of the enemy. ה5 אָגוּרָה בְאָהָלְךָ עוֹלָמִים אֶֽחֱסֶה בְסֵתֶר כְּנָפֶיךָ סֶּֽלָה׃ agurah veahalkha olamim echeseh veseter kenafeikha selahI will dwell in Thy Tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of Thy wings. May his years be as many generations! ח8 יֵשֵׁב עוֹלָם לִפְנֵי אֱלֹהִים חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת מַן יִנְצְרֻֽהוּ׃ yeshev olam lifnei Elohim chesed veemet man yintzruhuMay he be enthroned before G-d for ever! Appoint mercy and truth, that they may preserve him. ט9 כֵּן אֲזַמְּרָה שִׁמְךָ לָעַד לְֽשַׁלְּמִי נְדָרַי יוֹם ׀ יֽוֹם׃ ken azamrah shimkha laad leshalmi nedaray yom ׀ yomSo will I sing praise unto Thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

A Psalm of David. ב2 אַךְ אֶל־אֱלֹהִים דּֽוּמִיָּה נַפְשִׁי מִמֶּנּוּ יְשׁוּעָתִֽי׃ akh el-Elohim dumiyah nafshi mimenu yeshuatiOnly for G-d doth my soul wait in stillness; from Him cometh my salvation. ג3 אַךְ־הוּא צוּרִי וִֽישׁוּעָתִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי לֹא־אֶמּוֹט רַבָּֽה׃ akh-hu tzuri vishuati misgabi lo-emot rabahHe only is my rock and my salvation, my high tower, I shall not be greatly moved. ד4 עַד־אָנָה ׀ תְּהֽוֹתְתוּ עַל אִישׁ תְּרָצְּחוּ כֻלְּכֶם כְּקִיר נָטוּי גָּדֵר הַדְּחוּיָֽה׃ ad-anah ׀ tehottu al ish teratzchu khulkhem kekir natuy gader hadchuyahHow long will ye set upon a man, that ye may slay him, all of you, as a leaning wall, a tottering fence? ה5 אַךְ מִשְּׂאֵתוֹ ׀ יָעֲצוּ לְהַדִּיחַ יִרְצוּ כָזָב בְּפִיו יְבָרֵכוּ וּבְקִרְבָּם יְקַלְלוּ־סֶֽלָה׃ akh miseto ׀ yaatzu lehadicha yirtzu khazav befiv yevarekhu uvkirbam yekallu-selahThey only devise to thrust him down from his height, delighting in lies; they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah ו6 אַךְ לֵאלֹהִים דּוֹמִּי נַפְשִׁי כִּי־מִמֶּנּוּ תִּקְוָתִֽי׃ akh lelohim domi nafshi ki-mimenu tikevatiOnly for G-d wait thou in stillness, my soul; for from Him cometh my hope. ז7 אַךְ־הוּא צוּרִי וִֽישׁוּעָתִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי לֹא אֶמּֽוֹט׃ akh-hu tzuri vishuati misgabi lo emotHe only is my rock and my salvation, my high tower, I shall not be moved. ח8 עַל־אֱלֹהִים יִשְׁעִי וּכְבוֹדִי צוּר־עֻזִּי מַחְסִי בֵּֽאלֹהִֽים׃ al-Elohim yishi ukhvodi tzur-uzi machsi belohimUpon G-d resteth my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in G-d. ט9 בִּטְחוּ בוֹ בְכָל־עֵת ׀ עָם שִׁפְכֽוּ־לְפָנָיו לְבַבְכֶם אֱלֹהִים מַחֲסֶה־לָּנוּ סֶֽלָה׃ bitechu vo vekhal-et ׀ am shifkhu-lefanayv levavkhem Elohim machaseh-lanu selahTrust in Him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before Him; G-d is a refuge for us. Selah י10 אַךְ ׀ הֶבֶל בְּנֵֽי־אָדָם כָּזָב בְּנֵי אִישׁ בְּמֹאזְנַיִם לַעֲלוֹת הֵמָּה מֵהֶבֶל יָֽחַד׃ akh ׀ hevel benei-adam kazav benei ish bemoznayim laalot hemah mehevel yachadMen of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie; if they be laid in the balances, they are together lighter than vanity. יא11 אַל־תִּבְטְחוּ בְעֹשֶׁק וּבְגָזֵל אַל־תֶּהְבָּלוּ חַיִל ׀ כִּֽי־יָנוּב אַל־תָּשִׁיתוּ לֵֽב׃ al-tivetchu veoshek uvgazel al-tehebalu chayil ׀ ki-yanuv al-tashitu levTrust not in oppression, and put not vain hope in robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart thereon. יב12 אַחַת ׀ דִּבֶּר אֱלֹהִים שְׁתַּֽיִם־זוּ שָׁמָעְתִּי כִּי עֹז לֵאלֹהִֽים׃ achat ׀ diber Elohim shetayim-zu shamati ki oz lelohimG-d hath spoken once, twice have I heard this: that strength belongeth unto G-d; יג13 וּלְךָֽ־אֲדֹנָי חָסֶד כִּֽי־אַתָּה תְשַׁלֵּם לְאִישׁ כְּֽמַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃ ulkha-Adonai chased ki-atah teshalem leish kemaasehuAlso unto Thee, O L-rd, belongeth mercy; for Thou renderest to every man according to his work.

א1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד בִּהְיוֹתוֹ בְּמִדְבַּר יְהוּדָֽה׃ mizmor ledavid biheyoto bemidbar yehudahA Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. ב2 אֱלֹהִים ׀ אֵלִי אַתָּה אֲֽשַׁחֲרֶךָּ צָמְאָה לְךָ ׀ נַפְשִׁי כָּמַהּ לְךָ בְשָׂרִי בְּאֶֽרֶץ־צִיָּה וְעָיֵף בְּלִי־מָֽיִם׃ Elohim ׀ eli atah ashachareka tzamah lekha ׀ nafshi kamah lekha vesari beeretz-tziyah veayef beli-mayimO G-d, Thou art my G-d, earnestly will I seek Thee; my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee, in a dry and weary land, where no water is. ג3 כֵּן בַּקֹּדֶשׁ חֲזִיתִיךָ לִרְאוֹת עֻזְּךָ וּכְבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ ken bakodesh chazitikha lirot uzkha ukhvodekhaSo have I looked for Thee in the sanctuary, to see Thy power and Thy glory. ד4 כִּי־טוֹב חַסְדְּךָ מֵֽחַיִּים שְׂפָתַי יְשַׁבְּחֽוּנְךָ׃ ki-tov chasdkha mechayim sefatay yeshabchunkhaFor Thy lovingkindness is better than life; my lips shall praise Thee. ה5 כֵּן אֲבָרֶכְךָ בְחַיָּי בְּשִׁמְךָ אֶשָּׂא כַפָּֽי׃ ken avarekhkha vechayay beshimkha esa khapaySo will I bless Thee as long as I live; in Thy name will I lift up my hands. ו6 כְּמוֹ חֵלֶב וָדֶשֶׁן תִּשְׂבַּע נַפְשִׁי וְשִׂפְתֵי רְנָנוֹת יְהַלֶּל־פִּֽי׃ kemo chelev vadeshen tiseba nafshi vesiftei renanot yehalel-piMy soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth doth praise Thee with joyful lips; ז7 אִם־זְכַרְתִּיךָ עַל־יְצוּעָי בְּאַשְׁמֻרוֹת אֶהְגֶּה־בָּֽךְ׃ im-zekhartikha al-yetzuay beashmurot ehgeh-bakheWhen I remember Thee upon my couch, and meditate on Thee in the night-watches. ח8 כִּֽי־הָיִיתָ עֶזְרָתָה לִּי וּבְצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ אֲרַנֵּֽן׃ ki-hayita ezratah li uvtzel kenafeikha aranenFor Thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of Thy wings do I rejoice. ט9 דָּבְקָה נַפְשִׁי אַחֲרֶיךָ בִּי תָּמְכָה יְמִינֶֽךָ׃ davekah nafshi achareikha bi tamekhah yeminekhaMy soul cleaveth unto Thee; Thy right hand holdeth me fast. י10 וְהֵמָּה לְשׁוֹאָה יְבַקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי יָבֹאוּ בְּֽתַחְתִּיּוֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃ vehemah leshoah yevakshu nafshi yavou betachtiyot haaretzBut those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the nethermost parts of the earth. יא11 יַגִּירֻהוּ עַל־יְדֵי־חָרֶב מְנָת שֻׁעָלִים יִהְיֽוּ׃ yagiruhu al-yedei-charev menat shualim yihyuThey shall be hurled to the power of the sword; they shall be a portion for foxes. יב12 וְהַמֶּלֶךְ יִשְׂמַח בֵּאלֹהִים יִתְהַלֵּל כָּל־הַנִּשְׁבָּע בּוֹ כִּי יִסָּכֵר פִּי דֽוֹבְרֵי־שָֽׁקֶר׃ vehamelekh yismach belohim yithalel kal-hanisheba bo ki yisakher pi dovrei-shakerBut the king shall rejoice in G-d; every one that sweareth by Him shall glory; for the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

A Psalm of David. ב2 שְׁמַע־אֱלֹהִים קוֹלִי בְשִׂיחִי מִפַּחַד אוֹיֵב תִּצֹּר חַיָּֽי׃ shema-Elohim koli vesichi mipachad oyev titzor chayayHear my voice, O G-d, in my complaint; preserve my life from the terror of the enemy. ג3 תַּסְתִּירֵנִי מִסּוֹד מְרֵעִים מֵרִגְשַׁת פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ tasetireni misod mereim merigshat poalei avenHide me from the council of evil-doers; from the tumult of the workers of iniquity; ד4 אֲשֶׁר שָׁנְנוּ כַחֶרֶב לְשׁוֹנָם דָּרְכוּ חִצָּם דָּבָר מָֽר׃ asher shannu khacherev leshonam darekhu chitzam davar marWho have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a poisoned word; ה5 לִירוֹת בַּמִּסְתָּרִים תָּם פִּתְאֹם יֹרֻהוּ וְלֹא יִירָֽאוּ׃ lirot bamisetarim tam piteom yoruhu velo yirauThat they may shoot in secret places at the blameless; suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. ו6 יְחַזְּקוּ־לָמוֹ ׀ דָּבָר רָע יְֽסַפְּרוּ לִטְמוֹן מוֹקְשִׁים אָמְרוּ מִי יִרְאֶה־לָּֽמוֹ׃ yechazku-lamo ׀ davar ra yesapru litmon mokshim amru mi yireh-lamoThey encourage one another in an evil matter; they converse of laying snares secretly; they ask, who would see them. ז7 יַֽחְפְּֽשׂוּ־עוֹלֹת תַּמְנוּ חֵפֶשׂ מְחֻפָּשׂ וְקֶרֶב אִישׁ וְלֵב עָמֹֽק׃ yachpsu-olot tamenu chefes mechupas vekerev ish velev amokThey search out iniquities, they have accomplished a diligent search; even in the inward thought of every one, and the deep heart. ח8 וַיֹּרֵם אֱלֹהִים חֵץ פִּתְאוֹם הָיוּ מַכּוֹתָֽם׃ vayorem Elohim chetz piteom hayu makotamBut G-d doth shoot at them with an arrow suddenly; thence are their wounds. ט9 וַיַּכְשִׁילוּהוּ עָלֵימוֹ לְשׁוֹנָם יִתְנֹדֲדוּ כָּל־רֹאֵה בָֽם׃ vayakheshiluhu aleimo leshonam yitnodadu kal-roeh vamSo they make their own tongue a stumbling unto themselves; all that see them shake the head. י10 וַיִּֽירְאוּ כָּל־אָדָם וַיַּגִּידוּ פֹּעַל אֱלֹהִים וּֽמַעֲשֵׂהוּ הִשְׂכִּֽילוּ׃ vayiru kal-adam vayagidu poal Elohim umaasehu hiskiluAnd all men fear; and they declare the work of G-d, and understand His doing. יא11 יִשְׂמַח צַדִּיק בַּיהוָה וְחָסָה בוֹ וְיִתְהַֽלְלוּ כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵֽב׃ yismach tzadik bayhvah vechasah vo veyithallu kal-yishrei-levThe righteous shall be glad in HaShem, and shall take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

A Song of David. ב2 לְךָ דֻֽמִיָּה תְהִלָּה אֱלֹהִים בְּצִיּוֹן וּלְךָ יְשֻׁלַּם־נֶֽדֶר׃ lekha dumiyah tehilah Elohim betziyon ulkha yeshulam-nederPraise waiteth for Thee, O G-d, in Zion; and unto Thee the vow is performed. ג3 שֹׁמֵעַ תְּפִלָּה עָדֶיךָ כָּל־בָּשָׂר יָבֹֽאוּ׃ shomea tefilah adeikha kal-basar yavouO Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee doth all flesh come. ד4 דִּבְרֵי עֲוֺנֹת גָּבְרוּ מֶנִּי פְּשָׁעֵינוּ אַתָּה תְכַפְּרֵֽם׃ diverei aonot gaveru meni peshaeinu atah tekhapremThe tale of iniquities is too heavy for me; as for our transgressions, Thou wilt pardon them. ה5 אַשְׁרֵי ׀ תִּֽבְחַר וּתְקָרֵב יִשְׁכֹּן חֲצֵרֶיךָ נִשְׂבְּעָה בְּטוּב בֵּיתֶךָ קְדֹשׁ הֵיכָלֶֽךָ׃ ashrei ׀ tivechar utkarev yishkon chatzereikha nisbah betuv beitekha kedosh heikhalekhaHappy is the man whom Thou choosest, and bringest near, that he may dwell in Thy courts; may we be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, the holy place of Thy temple! ו6 נוֹרָאוֹת ׀ בְּצֶדֶק תַּעֲנֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ מִבְטָח כָּל־קַצְוֵי־אֶרֶץ וְיָם רְחֹקִֽים׃ noraot ׀ betzedek taanenu Elohei yishenu mivtach kal-katzvei-eretz veyam rechokimWith wondrous works dost Thou answer us in righteousness, O G-d of our salvation; Thou the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of the far distant seas; ז7 מֵכִין הָרִים בְּכֹחוֹ נֶאְזָר בִּגְבוּרָֽה׃ mekhin harim bekhocho nezar bigevurahWho by Thy strength settest fast the mountains, who art girded about with might; ח8 מַשְׁבִּיחַ ׀ שְׁאוֹן יַמִּים שְׁאוֹן גַּלֵּיהֶם וַהֲמוֹן לְאֻמִּֽים׃ mashbicha ׀ sheon yamim sheon galeihem vahamon leumimWho stillest the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples; ט9 וַיִּירְאוּ ׀ יֹשְׁבֵי קְצָוֺת מֵאוֹתֹתֶיךָ מוֹצָֽאֵי־בֹקֶר וָעֶרֶב תַּרְנִֽין׃ vayiru ׀ yoshvei ketzaot meototeikha motzaei-voker vaerev tareninSo that they that dwell in the uttermost parts stand in awe of Thy signs; Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice. י10 פָּקַדְתָּ הָאָרֶץ ׀ וַתְּשֹׁקְקֶהָ רַבַּת תַּעְשְׁרֶנָּה פֶּלֶג אֱלֹהִים מָלֵא מָיִם תָּכִין דְּגָנָם כִּי־כֵן תְּכִינֶֽהָ׃ pakadta haaretz ׀ vatshokkeha rabat taeshrenah peleg Elohim male mayim takhin deganam ki-khen tekhinehaThou hast remembered the earth, and watered her, greatly enriching her, with the river of G-d that is full of water; Thou preparest them corn, for so preparest Thou her. יא11 תְּלָמֶיהָ רַוֵּה נַחֵת גְּדוּדֶיהָ בִּרְבִיבִים תְּמֹגְגֶנָּה צִמְחָהּ תְּבָרֵֽךְ׃ telameiha raveh nachet gedudeiha birevivim temoggenah tzimchah tevarekhWatering her ridges abundantly, settling down the furrows thereof, Thou makest her soft with showers; Thou blessest the growth thereof. יב12 עִטַּרְתָּ שְׁנַת טוֹבָתֶךָ וּמַעְגָּלֶיךָ יִרְעֲפוּן דָּֽשֶׁן׃ itareta shenat tovatekha umagaleikha yirafun dashenThou crownest the year with Thy goodness; and Thy paths drop fatness. יג13 יִרְעֲפוּ נְאוֹת מִדְבָּר וְגִיל גְּבָעוֹת תַּחְגֹּֽרְנָה׃ yirafu neot midbar vegil gevaot tachegorenahThe pastures of the wilderness do drop; and the hills are girded with joy. יד14 לָבְשׁוּ כָרִים ׀ הַצֹּאן וַעֲמָקִים יַֽעַטְפוּ־בָר יִתְרוֹעֲעוּ אַף־יָשִֽׁירוּ׃ lavshu kharim ׀ hatzon vaamakim yaatfu-var yitroau af-yashiruThe meadows are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, yea, they sing.
