תהילים פרק קכ״ז · Psalm 127

א1 שִׁיר הַֽמַּֽעֲלוֹת לִשְׁלֹמֹה אִם־יְיָ ׀ לֹא־יִבְנֶה בַיִת שָׁוְא ׀ עָמְלוּ בוֹנָיו בּוֹ אִם־יְיָ לֹֽא־יִשְׁמָר־עִיר שָׁוְא ׀ שָׁקַד שׁוֹמֵֽר׃ shir hamaalot lishlomoh im-Adonai ׀ lo-yivneh vayit shav ׀ amlu vonayv bo im-Adonai lo-yishmar-ir shav ׀ shakad shomerA Song of Ascents; of Solomon. Except HaShem build the house, they labour in vain that build it; except HaShem keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. ב2 שָׁוְא לָכֶם ׀ מַשְׁכִּימֵי קוּם מְאַֽחֲרֵי־שֶׁבֶת אֹכְלֵי לֶחֶם הָעֲצָבִים כֵּן יִתֵּן לִֽידִידוֹ שֵׁנָֽא׃ shav lakhem ׀ mashkimei kum meacharei-shevet okhlei lechem haatzavim ken yiten lidido shenaIt is vain for you that ye rise early, and sit up late, ye that eat the bread of toil; so He giveth unto His beloved in sleep. ג3 הִנֵּה נַחֲלַת יְיָ בָּנִים שָׂכָר פְּרִי הַבָּֽטֶן׃ hineh nachalat Adonai banim sakhar peri habatenLo, children are a heritage of HaShem; the fruit of the womb is a reward. ד4 כְּחִצִּים בְּיַד־גִּבּוֹר כֵּן בְּנֵי הַנְּעוּרִֽים׃ kechitzim beyad-gibor ken benei hanurimAs arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of one's youth. ה5 אַשְׁרֵי הַגֶּבֶר אֲשֶׁר מִלֵּא אֶת־אַשְׁפָּתוֹ מֵהֶם לֹֽא־יֵבֹשׁוּ כִּֽי־יְדַבְּרוּ אֶת־אוֹיְבִים בַּשָּֽׁעַר׃ ashrei hagever asher mile et-ashpato mehem lo-yevoshu ki-yedabru et-oyvim bashaarHappy is the man that hath his quiver full of them; they shall not be put to shame, when they speak with their enemies in the gate.
