א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ בִּנְגִינֹת מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha bineginot maskil ledavidFor the Leader; with string-music. Maschil of David. ב2 הַאֲזִינָה אֱלֹהִים תְּפִלָּתִי וְאַל־תִּתְעַלַּם מִתְּחִנָּתִֽי׃ haazinah Elohim tefilati veal-titealam mitchinatiGive ear, O G-d, to my prayer; and hide not Thyself from my supplication. ג3 הַקְשִׁיבָה לִּי וַעֲנֵנִי אָרִיד בְּשִׂיחִי וְאָהִֽימָה׃ hakshivah li vaaneni arid besichi veahimahAttend unto me, and hear me; I am distraught in my complaint, and will moan; ד4 מִקּוֹל אוֹיֵב מִפְּנֵי עָקַת רָשָׁע כִּי־יָמִיטוּ עָלַי אָוֶן וּבְאַף יִשְׂטְמֽוּנִי׃ mikol oyev mipnei akat rasha ki-yamitu alay aven uvaf yistmuniBecause of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked; for they cast mischief upon me, and in anger they persecute me. ה5 לִבִּי יָחִיל בְּקִרְבִּי וְאֵימוֹת מָוֶת נָפְלוּ עָלָֽי׃ libi yachil bekirbi veeimot mavet naflu alayMy heart doth writhe within me; and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. ו6 יִרְאָה וָרַעַד יָבֹא בִי וַתְּכַסֵּנִי פַּלָּצֽוּת׃ yirah varaad yavo vi vatkhaseni palatzutFear and trembling come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me. ז7 וָאֹמַר מִֽי־יִתֶּן־לִּי אֵבֶר כַּיּוֹנָה אָעוּפָה וְאֶשְׁכֹּֽנָה׃ vaomar mi-yiten-li ever kayonah aufah veeshkonahAnd I said: 'Oh that I had wings like a dove! then would I fly away, and be at rest. ח8 הִנֵּה אַרְחִיק נְדֹד אָלִין בַּמִּדְבָּר סֶֽלָה׃ hineh archik nedod alin bamidebar selahLo, then would I wander far off, I would lodge in the wilderness. Selah ט9 אָחִישָׁה מִפְלָט לִי מֵרוּחַ סֹעָה מִסָּֽעַר׃ achishah miflat li merucha soah misaarI would haste me to a shelter from the stormy wind and tempest.' י10 בַּלַּע אֲדֹנָי פַּלַּג לְשׁוֹנָם כִּֽי־רָאִיתִי חָמָס וְרִיב בָּעִֽיר׃ bala Adonai palag leshonam ki-raiti chamas veriv bairDestroy, O L-rd, and divide their tongue; for I have seen violence and strife in the city. יא11 יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה יְסוֹבְבֻהָ עַל־חוֹמֹתֶיהָ וְאָוֶן וְעָמָל בְּקִרְבָּֽהּ׃ yomam valaylah yesovvuha al-chomoteiha veaven veamal bekirbahDay and night they go about it upon the walls thereof; iniquity also and mischief are in the midst of it. יב12 הַוּוֹת בְּקִרְבָּהּ וְֽלֹא־יָמִישׁ מֵרְחֹבָהּ תֹּךְ וּמִרְמָֽה׃ hauot bekirbah velo-yamish merchovah tokhe umirmahWickedness is in the midst thereof; oppression and guile depart not from her broad place. יג13 כִּי לֹֽא־אוֹיֵב יְחָֽרְפֵנִי וְאֶשָּׂא לֹֽא־מְשַׂנְאִי עָלַי הִגְדִּיל וְאֶסָּתֵר מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ ki lo-oyev yecharfeni veesa lo-mesani alay higdil veesater mimenuFor it was not an enemy that taunted me, then I could have borne it; neither was it mine adversary that did magnify himself against me, then I would have hid myself from him. יד14 וְאַתָּה אֱנוֹשׁ כְּעֶרְכִּי אַלּוּפִי וּמְיֻדָּֽעִי׃ veatah enosh keerki alufi umyudaiBut it was thou, a man mine equal, my companion, and my familiar friend; טו15 אֲשֶׁר יַחְדָּו נַמְתִּיק סוֹד בְּבֵית אֱלֹהִים נְהַלֵּךְ בְּרָֽגֶשׁ׃ asher yachdav namtik sod beveit Elohim nehalekhe berageshWe took sweet counsel together, in the house of G-d we walked with the throng. טז16 ישימות עָלֵימוֹ יֵרְדוּ שְׁאוֹל חַיִּים כִּֽי־רָעוֹת בִּמְגוּרָם בְּקִרְבָּֽם׃ yshymvt aleimo yerdu sheol chayim ki-raot bimeguram bekirbamMay He incite death against them, let them go down alive into the nether-world; for evil is in their dwelling, and within them. יז17 אֲנִי אֶל־אֱלֹהִים אֶקְרָא וַיהוָה יוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃ ani el-Elohim ekra vayhvah yoshiyeniAs for me, I will call upon G-d; and HaShem shall save me. יח18 עֶרֶב וָבֹקֶר וְצָהֳרַיִם אָשִׂיחָה וְאֶהֱמֶה וַיִּשְׁמַע קוֹלִֽי׃ erev vavoker vetzahorayim asichah veehemeh vayishema koliEvening, and morning, and at noon, will I complain, and moan; and He hath heard my voice. יט19 פָּדָה בְשָׁלוֹם נַפְשִׁי מִקֲּרָב־לִי כִּֽי־בְרַבִּים הָיוּ עִמָּדִֽי׃ padah veshalom nafshi mikarav-li ki-verabim hayu imadiHe hath redeemed my soul in peace so that none came nigh me; for they were many that strove with me. כ20 יִשְׁמַע ׀ אֵל ׀ וְֽיַעֲנֵם וְיֹשֵׁב קֶדֶם סֶלָה אֲשֶׁר אֵין חֲלִיפוֹת לָמוֹ וְלֹא יָרְאוּ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ yishma ׀ el ׀ veyaanem veyoshev kedem selah asher ein chalifot lamo velo yaru elohimG-d shall hear, and humble them, even He that is enthroned of old, Selah, such as have no changes, and fear not G-d. כא21 שָׁלַח יָדָיו בִּשְׁלֹמָיו חִלֵּל בְּרִיתֽוֹ׃ shalach yadayv bishelomayv chilel beritoHe hath put forth his hands against them that were at peace with him; he hath profaned his covenant. כב22 חָלְקוּ ׀ מַחְמָאֹת פִּיו וּֽקֲרָב־לִבּוֹ רַכּוּ דְבָרָיו מִשֶּׁמֶן וְהֵמָּה פְתִחֽוֹת׃ chalku ׀ machmaot piv ukarav-libo raku devarayv mishemen vehemah fetichotSmoother than cream were the speeches of his mouth, but his heart was war; his words were softer than oil, yet were they keen-edged swords. כג23 הַשְׁלֵךְ עַל־יְיָ ׀ יְהָבְךָ וְהוּא יְכַלְכְּלֶךָ לֹא־יִתֵּן לְעוֹלָם מוֹט לַצַּדִּֽיק׃ hashlekh al-Adonai ׀ yehavkha vehu yekhalklekha lo-yiten leolam mot latzadikCast thy burden upon HaShem, and He will sustain thee; He will never suffer the righteous to be moved. כד24 וְאַתָּה אֱלֹהִים ׀ תּוֹרִדֵם ׀ לִבְאֵר שַׁחַת אַנְשֵׁי דָמִים וּמִרְמָה לֹא־יֶחֱצוּ יְמֵיהֶם וַאֲנִי אֶבְטַח־בָּֽךְ׃ veatah Elohim ׀ toridem ׀ liver shachat anshei damim umirmah lo-yechetzu yemeihem vaani evtach-bakheBut Thou, O G-d, wilt bring them down into the nethermost pit; men of blood and deceit shall not live out half their days; but as for me, I will trust in Thee.

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ ׀ עַל־יוֹנַת אֵלֶם רְחֹקִים לְדָוִד מִכְתָּם בֶּֽאֱחֹז אֹתוֹ פְלִשְׁתִּים בְּגַֽת׃ lamnatzecha ׀ al-yonat elem rechokim ledavid mikhtam beechoz oto felishtim begatFor the Leader; upon Jonath-elem-rehokim. A Psalm of David; Michtam; when the Philistines took him in Gath. ב2 חָנֵּנִי אֱלֹהִים כִּֽי־שְׁאָפַנִי אֱנוֹשׁ כָּל־הַיּוֹם לֹחֵם יִלְחָצֵֽנִי׃ chaneni Elohim ki-sheafani enosh kal-hayom lochem yilchatzeniBe gracious unto me, O G-d, for man would swallow me up; all the day he fighting oppresseth me. ג3 שָׁאֲפוּ שׁוֹרְרַי כָּל־הַיּוֹם כִּֽי־רַבִּים לֹחֲמִים לִי מָרֽוֹם׃ shaafu shorray kal-hayom ki-rabim lochamim li maromThey that lie in wait for me would swallow me up all the day; for they are many that fight against me, O Most High, ד4 יוֹם אִירָא אֲנִי אֵלֶיךָ אֶבְטָֽח׃ yom ira ani eleikha evtachIn the day that I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee. ה5 בֵּאלֹהִים אֲהַלֵּל דְּבָרוֹ בֵּאלֹהִים בָּטַחְתִּי לֹא אִירָא מַה־יַּעֲשֶׂה בָשָׂר לִֽי׃ belohim ahalel devaro belohim batachti lo ira mah-yaaseh vasar liIn G-d--I will praise His word--in G-d do I trust, I will not be afraid; what can flesh do unto me? ו6 כָּל־הַיּוֹם דְּבָרַי יְעַצֵּבוּ עָלַי כָּל־מַחְשְׁבֹתָם לָרָֽע׃ kal-hayom devaray yeatzevu alay kal-machshvotam laraAll the day they trouble mine affairs; all their thoughts are against me for evil. ז7 יָגוּרוּ ׀ יצפינו הֵמָּה עֲקֵבַי יִשְׁמֹרוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר קִוּוּ נַפְשִֽׁי׃ yaguru ׀ ytzfynv hemah akevay yishmoru kaasher kiuu nafshiThey gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps; according as they have waited for my soul. ח8 עַל־אָוֶן פַּלֶּט־לָמוֹ בְּאַף עַמִּים ׀ הוֹרֵד אֱלֹהִֽים׃ al-aven palet-lamo beaf amim ׀ hored elohimBecause of iniquity cast them out; in anger bring down the peoples, O G-d. ט9 נֹדִי סָפַרְתָּה אָתָּה שִׂימָה דִמְעָתִי בְנֹאדֶךָ הֲלֹא בְּסִפְרָתֶֽךָ׃ nodi safartah atah simah dimati venodekha halo besifratekhaThou has counted my wanderings; put Thou my tears into Thy bottle; are they not in Thy book? י10 אָז יָשׁוּבוּ אוֹיְבַי אָחוֹר בְּיוֹם אֶקְרָא זֶה־יָדַעְתִּי כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים לִֽי׃ az yashuvu oyvay achor beyom ekra zeh-yadati ki-Elohim liThen shall mine enemies turn back in the day that I call; this I know, that G-d is for me. יא11 בֵּֽאלֹהִים אֲהַלֵּל דָּבָר בַּיהוָה אֲהַלֵּל דָּבָֽר׃ belohim ahalel davar bayhvah ahalel davarIn G-d--I will praise His word--in HaShem--I will praise His word-- יב12 בֵּֽאלֹהִים בָּטַחְתִּי לֹא אִירָא מַה־יַּעֲשֶׂה אָדָם לִֽי׃ belohim batachti lo ira mah-yaaseh adam liIn G-d do I trust, I will not be afraid; what can man do unto me? יג13 עָלַי אֱלֹהִים נְדָרֶיךָ אֲשַׁלֵּם תּוֹדֹת לָֽךְ׃ alay Elohim nedareikha ashalem todot lakhThy vows are upon me, O G-d; I will render thank-offerings unto Thee. יד14 כִּי הִצַּלְתָּ נַפְשִׁי מִמָּוֶת הֲלֹא רַגְלַי מִדֶּחִי לְהִֽתְהַלֵּךְ לִפְנֵי אֱלֹהִים בְּאוֹר הַֽחַיִּֽים׃ ki hitzaleta nafshi mimavet halo raglay midechi lehithalekhe lifnei Elohim beor hachayimFor thou hast delivered my soul from death; hast Thou not delivered my feet from stumbling? that I may walk before G-d in the light of the living?

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ אַל־תַּשְׁחֵת לְדָוִד מִכְתָּם בְּבָרְחוֹ מִפְּנֵי־שָׁאוּל בַּמְּעָרָֽה׃ lamnatzecha al-tashechet ledavid mikhtam bevarcho mipnei-shaul bamearahFor the Leader; Al-tashheth. A Psalm of David; Michtam; when he fled from Saul, in the cave. ב2 חָנֵּנִי אֱלֹהִים ׀ חָנֵּנִי כִּי בְךָ חָסָיָה נַפְשִׁי וּבְצֵֽל־כְּנָפֶיךָ אֶחְסֶה עַד יַעֲבֹר הַוּֽוֹת׃ chaneni Elohim ׀ chaneni ki vekha chasayah nafshi uvtzel-kenafeikha echseh ad yaavor hauotBe gracious unto me, O G-d, be gracious unto me, for in Thee hath my soul taken refuge; yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I take refuge, until calamities be overpast. ג3 אֶקְרָא לֵֽאלֹהִים עֶלְיוֹן לָאֵל גֹּמֵר עָלָֽי׃ ekra lelohim elyon lael gomer alayI will cry unto G-d Most high; unto G-d that accomplisheth it for me. ד4 יִשְׁלַח מִשָּׁמַיִם ׀ וְֽיוֹשִׁיעֵנִי חֵרֵף שֹׁאֲפִי סֶלָה יִשְׁלַח אֱלֹהִים חַסְדּוֹ וַאֲמִתּֽוֹ׃ yishlach mishamayim ׀ veyoshiyeni cheref shoafi selah yishlach Elohim chasdo vaamitoHe will send from heaven, and save me, when he that would swallow me up taunteth; Selah; G-d shall send forth His mercy and His truth. ה5 נַפְשִׁי ׀ בְּתוֹךְ לְבָאִם אֶשְׁכְּבָה לֹהֲטִים בְּֽנֵי־אָדָם שִׁנֵּיהֶם חֲנִית וְחִצִּים וּלְשׁוֹנָם חֶרֶב חַדָּֽה׃ nafshi ׀ betokh levaim eshkvah lohatim benei-adam shineihem chanit vechitzim ulshonam cherev chadahMy soul is among lions, I do lie down among them that are aflame; even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. ו6 רוּמָה עַל־הַשָּׁמַיִם אֱלֹהִים עַל כָּל־הָאָרֶץ כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ rumah al-hashamayim Elohim al kal-haaretz kevodekhaBe Thou exalted, O G-d, above the heavens; Thy glory be above all the earth. ז7 רֶשֶׁת ׀ הֵכִינוּ לִפְעָמַי כָּפַף נַפְשִׁי כָּרוּ לְפָנַי שִׁיחָה נָפְלוּ בְתוֹכָהּ סֶֽלָה׃ reshet ׀ hekhinu lifamay kafaf nafshi karu lefanay shichah naflu vetokhah selahThey have prepared a net for my steps, my soul is bowed down; they have digged a pit before me, they are fallen into the midst thereof themselves. Selah ח8 נָכוֹן לִבִּי אֱלֹהִים נָכוֹן לִבִּי אָשִׁירָה וַאֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃ nakhon libi Elohim nakhon libi ashirah vaazamerahMy heart is stedfast, O G-d, my heart is stedfast; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises. ט9 עוּרָה כְבוֹדִי עוּרָֽה הַנֵּבֶל וְכִנּוֹר אָעִירָה שָּֽׁחַר׃ urah khevodi urah hanevel vekhinor airah shacharAwake, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp; I will awake the dawn. י10 אוֹדְךָ בָעַמִּים ׀ אֲדֹנָי אֲזַמֶּרְךָ בַּל־אֻמִּֽים׃ odkha vaamim ׀ Adonai azamerekha bal-umimI will give thanks unto Thee, O L-rd, among the peoples; I will sing praises unto Thee among the nations. יא11 כִּֽי־גָדֹל עַד־שָׁמַיִם חַסְדֶּךָ וְֽעַד־שְׁחָקִים אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ ki-gadol ad-shamayim chasdekha vead-shechakim amitekhaFor Thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and Thy truth unto the skies. יב12 רוּמָה עַל־שָׁמַיִם אֱלֹהִים עַל כָּל־הָאָרֶץ כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ rumah al-shamayim Elohim al kal-haaretz kevodekhaBe Thou exalted, O G-d, above the heavens; Thy glory be above all the earth.

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ אַל־תַּשְׁחֵת לְדָוִד מִכְתָּֽם׃ lamnatzecha al-tashechet ledavid mikhtamFor the Leader; Al-tashheth. A Psalm of David; Michtam. ב2 הַֽאֻמְנָם אֵלֶם צֶדֶק תְּדַבֵּרוּן מֵישָׁרִים תִּשְׁפְּטוּ בְּנֵי אָדָֽם׃ haumnam elem tzedek tedaberun meisharim tisheptu benei adamDo ye indeed speak as a righteous company? Do ye judge with equity the sons of men? ג3 אַף־בְּלֵב עוֹלֹת תִּפְעָלוּן בָּאָרֶץ חֲמַס יְדֵיכֶם תְּפַלֵּֽסֽוּן׃ af-belev olot tifealun baaretz chamas yedeikhem tefalesunYea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh out in the earth the violence of your hands. ד4 זֹרוּ רְשָׁעִים מֵרָחֶם תָּעוּ מִבֶּטֶן דֹּבְרֵי כָזָֽב׃ zoru reshaim merachem tau mibeten doverei khazavThe wicked are estranged from the womb; the speakers of lies go astray as soon as they are born. ה5 חֲמַת־לָמוֹ כִּדְמוּת חֲמַת־נָחָשׁ כְּמוֹ־פֶתֶן חֵרֵשׁ יַאְטֵם אָזְנֽוֹ׃ chamat-lamo kidemut chamat-nachash kemo-feten cheresh yatem aznoTheir venom is like the venom of a serpent; they are like the deaf asp that stoppeth her ear; ו6 אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יִשְׁמַע לְקוֹל מְלַחֲשִׁים חוֹבֵר חֲבָרִים מְחֻכָּֽם׃ asher lo-yishma lekol melachashim chover chavarim mechukamWhich hearkeneth not to the voice of charmers, or of the most cunning binder of spells. ז7 אֱֽלֹהִים הֲרָס־שִׁנֵּימוֹ בְּפִימוֹ מַלְתְּעוֹת כְּפִירִים נְתֹץ ׀ יְהוָֽה׃ elohim haras-shineimo befimo maltot kefirim netotz ׀ AdonaiBreak their teeth, O G-d, in their mouth; break out the cheek-teeth of the young lions, O HaShem. ח8 יִמָּאֲסוּ כְמוֹ־מַיִם יִתְהַלְּכוּ־לָמוֹ יִדְרֹךְ חצו כְּמוֹ יִתְמֹלָֽלוּ׃ yimaasu khemo-mayim yithalkhu-lamo yidrokh chtzv kemo yitmolaluLet them melt away as water that runneth apace; when he aimeth his arrows, let them be as though they were cut off. ט9 כְּמוֹ שַׁבְּלוּל תֶּמֶס יַהֲלֹךְ נֵפֶל אֵשֶׁת בַּל־חָזוּ שָֽׁמֶשׁ׃ kemo shablul temes yahalokh nefel eshet bal-chazu shameshLet them be as a snail which melteth and passeth away; like the untimely births of a woman, that have not seen the sun. י10 בְּטֶרֶם יָבִינוּ סִּֽירֹתֵיכֶם אָטָד כְּמוֹ־חַי כְּמוֹ־חָרוֹן יִשְׂעָרֶֽנּוּ׃ beterem yavinu siroteikhem atad kemo-chay kemo-charon yisarenuBefore your pots can feel the thorns, He will sweep it away with a whirlwind, the raw and the burning alike. יא11 יִשְׂמַח צַדִּיק כִּי־חָזָה נָקָם פְּעָמָיו יִרְחַץ בְּדַם הָרָשָֽׁע׃ yismach tzadik ki-chazah nakam peamayv yirchatz bedam harashaThe righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. יב12 וְיֹאמַר אָדָם אַךְ־פְּרִי לַצַּדִּיק אַךְ יֵשׁ־אֱלֹהִים שֹׁפְטִים בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ veyomar adam akh-peri latzadik akh yesh-Elohim shoftim baaretzAnd men shall say: 'Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a G-d that judgeth in the earth.'

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ אַל־תַּשְׁחֵת לְדָוִד מִכְתָּם בִּשְׁלֹחַ שָׁאוּל וַֽיִּשְׁמְרוּ אֶת־הַבַּיִת לַהֲמִיתֽוֹ׃ lamnatzecha al-tashechet ledavid mikhtam bishelocha shaul vayishemru et-habayit lahamitoFor the Leader; Al-tashheth. A Psalm of David; Michtam; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. ב2 הַצִּילֵנִי מֵאֹיְבַי ׀ אֱלֹהָי מִּמִתְקוֹמְמַי תְּשַׂגְּבֵֽנִי׃ hatzileni meoyvay ׀ elohay mimitkommay tesagveniDeliver me from mine enemies, O my G-d; set me on high from them that rise up against me. ג3 הַצִּילֵנִי מִפֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן וּֽמֵאַנְשֵׁי דָמִים הוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃ hatzileni mipoalei aven umeanshei damim hoshiyeniDeliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from the men of blood. ד4 כִּי הִנֵּה אָֽרְבוּ לְנַפְשִׁי יָגוּרוּ עָלַי עַזִים לֹא־פִשְׁעִי וְלֹא־חַטָּאתִי יְהוָֽה׃ ki hineh arvu lenafshi yaguru alay azim lo-fishi velo-chatati AdonaiFor, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; the impudent gather themselves together against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O HaShem. ה5 בְּֽלִי־עָוֺן יְרוּצוּן וְיִכּוֹנָנוּ עוּרָה לִקְרָאתִי וּרְאֵה׃ beli-aon yerutzun veyikonanu urah likrati urehWithout my fault, they run and prepare themselves; awake Thou to help me, and behold. ו6 וְאַתָּה יְהוָֽה־אֱלֹהִים ׀ צְבָאוֹת אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הָקִיצָה לִפְקֹד כָּֽל־הַגּוֹיִם אַל־תָּחֹן כָּל־בֹּגְדֵי אָוֶן סֶֽלָה׃ veatah Adonai-Elohim ׀ tzevaot Elohei yisrael hakitzah lifkod kal-hagoyim al-tachon kal-bogedei aven selahThou therefore, O HaShem G-d of hosts, the G-d of Israel, arouse Thyself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to any iniquitous traitors. Selah ז7 יָשׁוּבוּ לָעֶרֶב יֶהֱמוּ כַכָּלֶב וִיסוֹבְבוּ עִֽיר׃ yashuvu laerev yehemu khakalev visovvu irThey return at evening, they howl like a dog, and go round about the city. ח8 הִנֵּה ׀ יַבִּיעוּן בְּפִיהֶם חֲרָבוֹת בְּשִׂפְתוֹתֵיהֶם כִּי־מִי שֹׁמֵֽעַ׃ hineh ׀ yabiyun befihem charavot besiftoteihem ki-mi shomeaBehold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: 'For who doth hear?' ט9 וְאַתָּה יְיָ תִּשְׂחַק־לָמוֹ תִּלְעַג לְכָל־גּוֹיִֽם׃ veatah Adonai tisechak-lamo tileag lekhal-goyimBut Thou, O HaShem, shalt laugh at them; Thou shalt have all the nations in derision. י10 עֻזּוֹ אֵלֶיךָ אֶשְׁמֹרָה כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים מִשְׂגַּבִּֽי׃ uzo eleikha eshmorah ki-Elohim misgabiBecause of his strength, I will wait for Thee; for G-d is my high tower. יא11 אֱלֹהֵי חסדו יְקַדְּמֵנִי אֱלֹהִים יַרְאֵנִי בְשֹׁרְרָֽי׃ Elohei chsdv yekadmeni Elohim yareni veshorrayThe G-d of my mercy will come to meet me; G-d will let me gaze upon mine adversaries. יב12 אַל־תַּהַרְגֵם ׀ פֶּֽן־יִשְׁכְּחוּ עַמִּי הֲנִיעֵמוֹ בְחֵילְךָ וְהוֹרִידֵמוֹ מָֽגִנֵּנוּ אֲדֹנָֽי׃ al-tahargem ׀ pen-yishkchu ami haniyemo vecheilkha vehoridemo maginenu adonaySlay them not, lest my people forget, make them wander to and fro by Thy power, and bring them down, O L-rd our shield. יג13 חַטַּאת־פִּימוֹ דְּֽבַר־שְׂפָתֵימוֹ וְיִלָּכְדוּ בִגְאוֹנָם וּמֵאָלָה וּמִכַּחַשׁ יְסַפֵּֽרוּ׃ chatat-pimo devar-sefateimo veyilakhedu vigonam umealah umikachash yesaperuFor the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride, and for cursing and lying which they speak. יד14 כַּלֵּה בְחֵמָה כַּלֵּה וְֽאֵינֵמוֹ וְֽיֵדְעוּ כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים מֹשֵׁל בְּיַעֲקֹב לְאַפְסֵי הָאָרֶץ סֶֽלָה׃ kaleh vechemah kaleh veeinemo veyedu ki-Elohim moshel beyaakov leafsei haaretz selahConsume them in wrath, consume them, that they be no more; and let them know that G-d ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. Selah טו15 וְיָשׁוּבוּ לָעֶרֶב יֶהֱמוּ כַכָּלֶב וִיסוֹבְבוּ עִֽיר׃ veyashuvu laerev yehemu khakalev visovvu irAnd they return at evening, they howl like a dog, and go round about the city; טז16 הֵמָּה ינועון לֶאֱכֹל אִם־לֹא יִשְׂבְּעוּ וַיָּלִֽינוּ׃ hemah ynvvn leekhol im-lo yisbu vayalinuThey wander up and down to devour, and tarry all night if they have not their fill. יז17 וַאֲנִי ׀ אָשִׁיר עֻזֶּךָ וַאֲרַנֵּן לַבֹּקֶר חַסְדֶּךָ כִּֽי־הָיִיתָ מִשְׂגָּב לִי וּמָנוֹס בְּיוֹם צַר־לִֽי׃ vaani ׀ ashir uzekha vaaranen laboker chasdekha ki-hayita misgav li umanos beyom tzar-liBut as for me, I will sing of Thy strength; yea, I will sing aloud of Thy mercy in the morning; for Thou hast been my high tower, and a refuge in the day of my distress. יח18 עֻזִּי אֵלֶיךָ אֲזַמֵּרָה כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים מִשְׂגַּבִּי אֱלֹהֵי חַסְדִּֽי׃ uzi eleikha azamerah ki-Elohim misgabi Elohei chasdiO my strength, unto Thee will I sing praises; for G-d is my high tower, the G-d of my mercy.
