א1 לָמָּה רָגְשׁוּ גוֹיִם וּלְאֻמִּים יֶהְגּוּ־רִֽיק׃ lamah ragshu goyim ulumim yehgu-rikWhy are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain? ב2 יִתְיַצְּבוּ ׀ מַלְכֵי־אֶרֶץ וְרוֹזְנִים נֽוֹסְדוּ־יָחַד עַל־יְיָ וְעַל־מְשִׁיחֽוֹ׃ yityatzvu ׀ malkhei-eretz veroznim nosdu-yachad al-Adonai veal-meshichoThe kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together, against HaShem, and against His anointed: ג3 נְֽנַתְּקָה אֶת־מֽוֹסְרוֹתֵימוֹ וְנַשְׁלִיכָה מִמֶּנּוּ עֲבֹתֵֽימוֹ׃ nenatkah et-mosroteimo venashlikhah mimenu avoteimo'Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.' ד4 יוֹשֵׁב בַּשָּׁמַיִם יִשְׂחָק אֲדֹנָי יִלְעַג־לָֽמוֹ׃ yoshev bashamayim yischak Adonai yilag-lamoHe that sitteth in heaven laugheth, the L-rd hath them in derision. ה5 אָז יְדַבֵּר אֵלֵימוֹ בְאַפּוֹ וּֽבַחֲרוֹנוֹ יְבַהֲלֵֽמוֹ׃ az yedaber eleimo veapo uvacharono yevahalemoThen will He speak unto them in His wrath, and affright them in His sore displeasure: ו6 וַאֲנִי נָסַכְתִּי מַלְכִּי עַל־צִיּוֹן הַר־קָדְשִֽׁי׃ vaani nasakhti malki al-tziyon har-kadshi'Truly it is I that have established My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.' ז7 אֲסַפְּרָה אֶֽל חֹק יְֽהוָה אָמַר אֵלַי בְּנִי אַתָּה אֲנִי הַיּוֹם יְלִדְתִּֽיךָ׃ asaprah el chok Adonai amar elay beni atah ani hayom yelidtikhaI will tell of the decree: HaShem said unto me: 'Thou art My son, this day have I begotten thee. ח8 שְׁאַל מִמֶּנִּי וְאֶתְּנָה גוֹיִם נַחֲלָתֶךָ וַאֲחֻזָּתְךָ אַפְסֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ sheal mimeni veetnah goyim nachalatekha vaachuzatekha afsei-aretzAsk of Me, and I will give the nations for thine inheritance, and the ends of the earth for thy possession. ט9 תְּרֹעֵם בְּשֵׁבֶט בַּרְזֶל כִּכְלִי יוֹצֵר תְּנַפְּצֵֽם׃ teroem beshevet barezel kikheli yotzer tenaptzemThou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.' י10 וְעַתָּה מְלָכִים הַשְׂכִּילוּ הִוָּסְרוּ שֹׁפְטֵי אָֽרֶץ׃ veatah melakhim haskilu hivaseru shoftei aretzNow therefore, O ye kings, be wise; be admonished, ye judges of the earth. יא11 עִבְדוּ אֶת־יְיָ בְּיִרְאָה וְגִילוּ בִּרְעָדָֽה׃ ivdu et-Adonai beyirah vegilu bireadahServe HaShem with fear, and rejoice with trembling. יב12 נַשְּׁקוּ־בַר פֶּן־יֶאֱנַף ׀ וְתֹאבְדוּ דֶרֶךְ כִּֽי־יִבְעַר כִּמְעַט אַפּוֹ אַשְׁרֵי כָּל־חוֹסֵי בֽוֹ׃ nashku-var pen-yeenaf ׀ vetovdu derekh ki-yivar kimeat apo ashrei kal-chosei voDo homage in purity, lest He be angry, and ye perish in the way, when suddenly His wrath is kindled. Happy are all they that take refuge in Him.
