א1 תְּפִלָּה לְמֹשֶׁה אִֽישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִים אֲֽדֹנָי מָעוֹן אַתָּה הָיִיתָ לָּנוּ בְּדֹר וָדֹֽר׃ tefilah lemosheh ish-haelohim adonay maon atah hayita lanu bedor vadorA Prayer of Moses the man of G-d. L-rd, Thou hast been our dwelling-place in all generations. ב2 בְּטֶרֶם ׀ הָרִים יֻלָּדוּ וַתְּחוֹלֵֽל אֶרֶץ וְתֵבֵל וּֽמֵעוֹלָם עַד־עוֹלָם אַתָּה אֵֽל׃ beterem ׀ harim yuladu vatcholel eretz vetevel umeolam ad-olam atah elBefore the mountains were brought forth, or ever Thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art G-d. ג3 תָּשֵׁב אֱנוֹשׁ עַד־דַּכָּא וַתֹּאמֶר שׁוּבוּ בְנֵי־אָדָֽם׃ tashev enosh ad-daka vatomer shuvu venei-adamThou turnest man to contrition; and sayest: 'Return, ye children of men.' ד4 כִּי אֶלֶף שָׁנִים בְּֽעֵינֶיךָ כְּיוֹם אֶתְמוֹל כִּי יַעֲבֹר וְאַשְׁמוּרָה בַלָּֽיְלָה׃ ki elef shanim beeineikha keyom etmol ki yaavor veashmurah valayelahFor a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. ה5 זְרַמְתָּם שֵׁנָה יִהְיוּ בַּבֹּקֶר כֶּחָצִיר יַחֲלֹֽף׃ zeramtam shenah yihyu baboker kechatzir yachalofThou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. ו6 בַּבֹּקֶר יָצִיץ וְחָלָף לָעֶרֶב יְמוֹלֵל וְיָבֵֽשׁ׃ baboker yatzitz vechalaf laerev yemolel veyaveshIn the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. ז7 כִּֽי־כָלִינוּ בְאַפֶּךָ וּֽבַחֲמָתְךָ נִבְהָֽלְנוּ׃ ki-khalinu veapekha uvachamatkha nivhalnuFor we are consumed in Thine anger, and by Thy wrath are we hurried away. ח8 שת עֲוֺנֹתֵינוּ לְנֶגְדֶּךָ עֲלֻמֵנוּ לִמְאוֹר פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ sht aonoteinu lenegdekha alumenu limor paneikhaThou hast set our iniquities before Thee, our secret sins in the light of Thy countenance. ט9 כִּי כָל־יָמֵינוּ פָּנוּ בְעֶבְרָתֶךָ כִּלִּינוּ שָׁנֵינוּ כְמוֹ־הֶֽגֶה׃ ki khal-yameinu panu veevratekha kilinu shaneinu khemo-hegehFor all our days are passed away in Thy wrath; we bring our years to an end as a tale that is told. י10 יְמֵֽי־שְׁנוֹתֵינוּ בָהֶם שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה וְאִם בִּגְבוּרֹת ׀ שְׁמוֹנִים שָׁנָה וְרָהְבָּם עָמָל וָאָוֶן כִּי־גָז חִישׁ וַנָּעֻֽפָה׃ yemei-shenoteinu vahem shivim shanah veim bigevurot ׀ shemonim shanah verahbam amal vaaven ki-gaz chish vanaufahThe days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years; yet is their pride but travail and vanity; for it is speedily gone, and we fly away. יא11 מִֽי־יוֹדֵעַ עֹז אַפֶּךָ וּכְיִרְאָתְךָ עֶבְרָתֶֽךָ׃ mi-yodea oz apekha ukhyiratkha evratekhaWho knoweth the power of Thine anger, and Thy wrath according to the fear that is due unto Thee? יב12 לִמְנוֹת יָמֵינוּ כֵּן הוֹדַע וְנָבִא לְבַב חָכְמָֽה׃ limnot yameinu ken hoda venavi levav chakhmahSo teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom. יג13 שׁוּבָה יְיָ עַד־מָתָי וְהִנָּחֵם עַל־עֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃ shuvah Adonai ad-matay vehinachem al-avadeikhaReturn, O HaShem; how long? And let it repent Thee concerning Thy servants. יד14 שַׂבְּעֵנוּ בַבֹּקֶר חַסְדֶּךָ וּֽנְרַנְּנָה וְנִשְׂמְחָה בְּכָל־יָמֵֽינוּ׃ sabenu vaboker chasdekha unrannah venismchah bekhal-yameinuO satisfy us in the morning with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. טו15 שַׂמְּחֵנוּ כִּימוֹת עִנִּיתָנוּ שְׁנוֹת רָאִינוּ רָעָֽה׃ samchenu kimot initanu shenot rainu raahMake us glad according to the days wherein Thou hast afflicted us, according to the years wherein we have seen evil. טז16 יֵרָאֶה אֶל־עֲבָדֶיךָ פָעֳלֶךָ וַהֲדָרְךָ עַל־בְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ yeraeh el-avadeikha faolekha vahadarkha al-beneihemLet Thy work appear unto Thy servants, and Thy glory upon their children. יז17 וִיהִי ׀ נֹעַם אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהֵינוּ עָלֵינוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנָה עָלֵינוּ וּֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנֵֽהוּ׃ vihi ׀ noam Adonai eloheinu aleinu umaaseh yadeinu konnah aleinu umaaseh yadeinu konnehuAnd let the graciousness of the L-rd our G-d be upon us; establish Thou also upon us the work of our hands; yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it.
