א1 בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְיָ יְיָ אֱלֹהַי גָּדַלְתָּ מְּאֹד הוֹד וְהָדָר לָבָֽשְׁתָּ׃ barakhi nafshi et-Adonai Adonai elohay gadalta meod hod vehadar lavashtaBless HaShem, O my soul. O HaShem my G-d, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with glory and majesty. ב2 עֹֽטֶה־אוֹר כַּשַּׂלְמָה נוֹטֶה שָׁמַיִם כַּיְרִיעָֽה׃ oteh-or kasalemah noteh shamayim kayeriyahWho coverest Thyself with light as with a garment, who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain; ג3 הַמְקָרֶֽה בַמַּיִם עֲֽלִיּוֹתָיו הַשָּׂם־עָבִים רְכוּבוֹ הַֽמְהַלֵּךְ עַל־כַּנְפֵי־רֽוּחַ׃ hamkareh vamayim aliyotayv hasam-avim rekhuvo hamhalekhe al-kanefei-ruchaWho layest the beams of Thine upper chambers in the waters, who makest the clouds Thy chariot, who walkest upon the wings of the wind; ד4 עֹשֶׂה מַלְאָכָיו רוּחוֹת מְשָׁרְתָיו אֵשׁ לֹהֵֽט׃ oseh malakhayv ruchot meshartayv esh lohetWho makest winds Thy messengers, the flaming fire Thy ministers. ה5 יָֽסַד־אֶרֶץ עַל־מְכוֹנֶיהָ בַּל־תִּמּוֹט עוֹלָם וָעֶֽד׃ yasad-eretz al-mekhoneiha bal-timot olam vaedWho didst establish the earth upon its foundations, that it should not be moved for ever and ever; ו6 תְּהוֹם כַּלְּבוּשׁ כִּסִּיתוֹ עַל־הָרִים יַֽעַמְדוּ־מָֽיִם׃ tehom kalevush kisito al-harim yaamdu-mayimThou didst cover it with the deep as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains. ז7 מִן־גַּעֲרָתְךָ יְנוּסוּן מִן־קוֹל רַֽעַמְךָ יֵחָפֵזֽוּן׃ min-gaaratkha yenusun min-kol raamkha yechafezunAt Thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of Thy thunder they hasted away-- ח8 יַעֲלוּ הָרִים יֵרְדוּ בְקָעוֹת אֶל־מְקוֹם זֶה ׀ יָסַדְתָּ לָהֶֽם׃ yaalu harim yerdu vekaot el-mekom zeh ׀ yasadta lahemThe mountains rose, the valleys sank down--unto the place which Thou hadst founded for them; ט9 גְּֽבוּל־שַׂמְתָּ בַּל־יַֽעֲבֹרוּן בַּל־יְשׁוּבוּן לְכַסּוֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃ gevul-samta bal-yaavorun bal-yeshuvun lekhasot haaretzThou didst set a bound which they should not pass over, that they might not return to cover the earth. י10 הַֽמְשַׁלֵּחַ מַעְיָנִים בַּנְּחָלִים בֵּין הָרִים יְהַלֵּכֽוּן׃ hamshalecha mayanim banechalim bein harim yehalekhunWho sendest forth springs into the valleys; they run between the mountains; יא11 יַשְׁקוּ כָּל־חַיְתוֹ שָׂדָי יִשְׁבְּרוּ פְרָאִים צְמָאָֽם׃ yashku kal-chayto saday yishbru feraim tzemaamThey give drink to every beast of the field, the wild asses quench their thirst. יב12 עֲלֵיהֶם עוֹף־הַשָּׁמַיִם יִשְׁכּוֹן מִבֵּין עֳפָאיִם יִתְּנוּ־קֽוֹל׃ aleihem of-hashamayim yishkon mibein ofayim yitnu-kolBeside them dwell the fowl of the heaven, from among the branches they sing. יג13 מַשְׁקֶה הָרִים מֵעֲלִיּוֹתָיו מִפְּרִי מַעֲשֶׂיךָ תִּשְׂבַּע הָאָֽרֶץ׃ mashkeh harim mealiyotayv mipri maaseikha tiseba haaretzWho waterest the mountains from Thine upper chambers; the earth is full of the fruit of Thy works. יד14 מַצְמִיחַ חָצִיר ׀ לַבְּהֵמָה וְעֵשֶׂב לַעֲבֹדַת הָאָדָם לְהוֹצִיא לֶחֶם מִן־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ matzmicha chatzir ׀ labhemah veesev laavodat haadam lehotzi lechem min-haaretzWho causeth the grass to spring up for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; to bring forth bread out of the earth, טו15 וְיַיִן ׀ יְשַׂמַּח לְֽבַב־אֱנוֹשׁ לְהַצְהִיל פָּנִים מִשָּׁמֶן וְלֶחֶם לְֽבַב־אֱנוֹשׁ יִסְעָֽד׃ veyayin ׀ yesamach levav-enosh lehatzhil panim mishamen velechem levav-enosh yisadAnd wine that maketh glad the heart of man, making the face brighter than oil, and bread that stayeth man's heart. טז16 יִשְׂבְּעוּ עֲצֵי יְיָ אַֽרְזֵי לְבָנוֹן אֲשֶׁר נָטָֽע׃ yisbu atzei Adonai arzei levanon asher nataThe trees of HaShem have their fill, the cedars of Lebanon, which He hath planted; יז17 אֲשֶׁר־שָׁם צִפֳּרִים יְקַנֵּנוּ חֲסִידָה בְּרוֹשִׁים בֵּיתָֽהּ׃ asher-sham tziporim yekanenu chasidah beroshim beitahWherein the birds make their nests; as for the stork, the fir-trees are her house. יח18 הָרִים הַגְּבֹהִים לַיְּעֵלִים סְלָעִים מַחְסֶה לַֽשְׁפַנִּֽים׃ harim hagvohim layelim selaim machseh lashfanimThe high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the conies. יט19 עָשָׂה יָרֵחַ לְמוֹעֲדִים שֶׁמֶשׁ יָדַע מְבוֹאֽוֹ׃ asah yarecha lemoadim shemesh yada mevooWho appointedst the moon for seasons; the sun knoweth his going down. כ20 תָּֽשֶׁת־חֹשֶׁךְ וִיהִי לָיְלָה בּֽוֹ־תִרְמֹשׂ כָּל־חַיְתוֹ־יָֽעַר׃ tashet-choshekh vihi laylah bo-tirmos kal-chayto-yaarThou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth. כא21 הַכְּפִירִים שֹׁאֲגִים לַטָּרֶף וּלְבַקֵּשׁ מֵאֵל אָכְלָֽם׃ hakfirim shoagim lataref ulvakesh meel akhlamThe young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from G-d. כב22 תִּזְרַח הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יֵאָסֵפוּן וְאֶל־מְעוֹנֹתָם יִרְבָּצֽוּן׃ tizerach hashemesh yeasefun veel-meonotam yirbatzunThe sun ariseth, they slink away, and couch in their dens. כג23 יֵצֵא אָדָם לְפָעֳלוֹ וְֽלַעֲבֹדָתוֹ עֲדֵי־עָֽרֶב׃ yetze adam lefaolo velaavodato adei-arevMan goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening. כד24 מָֽה־רַבּוּ מַעֲשֶׂיךָ ׀ יְֽהוָה כֻּלָּם בְּחָכְמָה עָשִׂיתָ מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ קִנְיָנֶֽךָ׃ mah-rabu maaseikha ׀ Adonai kulam bechakhmah asita malah haaretz kinyanekhaHow manifold are Thy works, O HaShem! In wisdom hast Thou made them all; the earth is full of Thy creatures. כה25 זֶה ׀ הַיָּם גָּדוֹל וּרְחַב יָדָיִם שָֽׁם־רֶמֶשׂ וְאֵין מִסְפָּר חַיּוֹת קְטַנּוֹת עִם־גְּדֹלֽוֹת׃ zeh ׀ hayam gadol urchav yadayim sham-remes veein mispar chayot ketanot im-gedolotYonder sea, great and wide, therein are creeping things innumerable, living creatures, both small and great. כו26 שָׁם אֳנִיּוֹת יְהַלֵּכוּן לִוְיָתָן זֶֽה־יָצַרְתָּ לְשַֽׂחֶק־בּֽוֹ׃ sham oniyot yehalekhun livyatan zeh-yatzarta lesachek-boThere go the ships; there is leviathan, whom Thou hast formed to sport therein. כז27 כֻּלָּם אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּן לָתֵת אָכְלָם בְּעִתּֽוֹ׃ kulam eleikha yesaberun latet akhlam beitoAll of them wait for Thee, that Thou mayest give them their food in due season. כח28 תִּתֵּן לָהֶם יִלְקֹטוּן תִּפְתַּח יָֽדְךָ יִשְׂבְּעוּן טֽוֹב׃ titen lahem yilkotun tifetach yadkha yisbun tovThou givest it unto them, they gather it; Thou openest Thy hand, they are satisfied with good. כט29 תַּסְתִּיר פָּנֶיךָ יִֽבָּהֵלוּן תֹּסֵף רוּחָם יִגְוָעוּן וְֽאֶל־עֲפָרָם יְשׁוּבֽוּן׃ tasetir paneikha yibahelun tosef rucham yigvaun veel-afaram yeshuvunThou hidest Thy face, they vanish; Thou withdrawest their breath, they perish, and return to their dust. ל30 תְּשַׁלַּח רוּחֲךָ יִבָּרֵאוּן וּתְחַדֵּשׁ פְּנֵי אֲדָמָֽה׃ teshalach ruchakha yibareun utchadesh penei adamahThou sendest forth Thy spirit, they are created; and Thou renewest the face of the earth. לא31 יְהִי כְבוֹד יְיָ לְעוֹלָם יִשְׂמַח יְיָ בְּמַעֲשָֽׂיו׃ yehi khevod Adonai leolam yismach Adonai bemaasayvMay the glory of HaShem endure for ever; let HaShem rejoice in His works! לב32 הַמַּבִּיט לָאָרֶץ וַתִּרְעָד יִגַּע בֶּהָרִים וְֽיֶעֱשָֽׁנוּ׃ hamabit laaretz vatiread yiga beharim veyeeshanuWho looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; He toucheth the mountains, and they smoke. לג33 אָשִׁירָה לַיהוָה בְּחַיָּי אֲזַמְּרָה לֵאלֹהַי בְּעוֹדִֽי׃ ashirah layhvah bechayay azamrah lelohay beodiI will sing unto HaShem as long as I live; I will sing praise to my G-d while I have any being. לד34 יֶעֱרַב עָלָיו שִׂיחִי אָנֹכִי אֶשְׂמַח בַּיהוָֽה׃ yeerav alayv sichi anokhi esmach bayhvahLet my musing be sweet unto Him; as for me, I will rejoice in HaShem. לה35 יִתַּמּוּ חַטָּאִים ׀ מִן־הָאָרֶץ וּרְשָׁעִים ׀ עוֹד אֵינָם בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְיָ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ yitamu chataim ׀ min-haaretz urshaim ׀ od einam barakhi nafshi et-Adonai hallu-yahLet sinners cease out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless HaShem, O my soul. Hallelujah.

א1 הוֹדוּ לַיהוָה קִרְאוּ בִּשְׁמוֹ הוֹדִיעוּ בָעַמִּים עֲלִילוֹתָֽיו׃ hodu layhvah kiru bishemo hodiyu vaamim alilotayvO give thanks unto HaShem, call upon His name; make known His doings among the peoples. ב2 שִֽׁירוּ־לוֹ זַמְּרוּ־לוֹ שִׂיחוּ בְּכָל־נִפְלְאוֹתָֽיו׃ shiru-lo zamru-lo sichu bekhal-niflotayvSing unto Him, sing praises unto Him; speak ye of all His marvellous works. ג3 הִֽתְהַלְלוּ בְּשֵׁם קָדְשׁוֹ יִשְׂמַח לֵב ׀ מְבַקְשֵׁי יְהוָֽה׃ hithallu beshem kadsho yismach lev ׀ mevakshei AdonaiGlory ye in His holy name; let the heart of them rejoice that seek HaShem. ד4 דִּרְשׁוּ יְיָ וְעֻזּוֹ בַּקְּשׁוּ פָנָיו תָּמִֽיד׃ direshu Adonai veuzo bakeshu fanayv tamidSeek ye HaShem and His strength; seek His face continually. ה5 זִכְרוּ נִפְלְאוֹתָיו אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה מֹפְתָיו וּמִשְׁפְּטֵי־פִֽיו׃ zikhru niflotayv asher-asah moftayv umishptei-fivRemember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth; ו6 זֶרַע אַבְרָהָם עַבְדּוֹ בְּנֵי יַעֲקֹב בְּחִירָֽיו׃ zera avraham avdo benei yaakov bechirayvO ye seed of Abraham His servant, ye children of Jacob, His chosen ones. ז7 הוּא יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ בְּכָל־הָאָרֶץ מִשְׁפָּטָֽיו׃ hu Adonai eloheinu bekhal-haaretz mishpatayvHe is HaShem our G-d; His judgments are in all the earth. ח8 זָכַר לְעוֹלָם בְּרִיתוֹ דָּבָר צִוָּה לְאֶלֶף דּֽוֹר׃ zakhar leolam berito davar tzivah leelef dorHe hath remembered His covenant for ever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations; ט9 אֲשֶׁר כָּרַת אֶת־אַבְרָהָם וּשְׁבוּעָתוֹ לְיִשְׂחָֽק׃ asher karat et-avraham ushvuato leyischakThe covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath unto Isaac; י10 וַיַּֽעֲמִידֶהָ לְיַעֲקֹב לְחֹק לְיִשְׂרָאֵל בְּרִית עוֹלָֽם׃ vayaamideha leyaakov lechok leyisrael berit olamAnd He established it unto Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant; יא11 לֵאמֹר לְךָ אֶתֵּן אֶת־אֶֽרֶץ־כְּנָעַן חֶבֶל נַחֲלַתְכֶֽם׃ lemor lekha eten et-eretz-kenaan chevel nachalatkhemSaying: 'Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.' יב12 בִּֽהְיוֹתָם מְתֵי מִסְפָּר כִּמְעַט וְגָרִים בָּֽהּ׃ biheyotam metei mispar kimeat vegarim bahWhen they were but a few men in number. Yea, very few, and sojourners in it, יג13 וַֽיִּתְהַלְּכוּ מִגּוֹי אֶל־גּוֹי מִמַּמְלָכָה אֶל־עַם אַחֵֽר׃ vayitehalkhu migoy el-goy mimamelakhah el-am acherAnd when they went about from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, יד14 לֹֽא־הִנִּיחַ אָדָם לְעָשְׁקָם וַיּוֹכַח עֲלֵיהֶם מְלָכִֽים׃ lo-hinicha adam leashkam vayokhach aleihem melakhimHe suffered no man to do them wrong, yea, for their sake He reproved kings: טו15 אַֽל־תִּגְּעוּ בִמְשִׁיחָי וְלִנְבִיאַי אַל־תָּרֵֽעוּ׃ al-tigeu vimshichay velinviyay al-tareu'Touch not Mine anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.' טז16 וַיִּקְרָא רָעָב עַל־הָאָרֶץ כָּֽל־מַטֵּה־לֶחֶם שָׁבָֽר׃ vayikera raav al-haaretz kal-mateh-lechem shavarAnd He called a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread. יז17 שָׁלַח לִפְנֵיהֶם אִישׁ לְעֶבֶד נִמְכַּר יוֹסֵֽף׃ shalach lifneihem ish leeved nimkar yosefHe sent a man before them; Joseph was sold for a servant; יח18 עִנּוּ בַכֶּבֶל רגליו בַּרְזֶל בָּאָה נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ inu vakevel rglyv barezel baah nafshoHis feet they hurt with fetters, his person was laid in iron; יט19 עַד־עֵת בֹּֽא־דְבָרוֹ אִמְרַת יְיָ צְרָפָֽתְהוּ׃ ad-et bo-devaro imrat Adonai tzerafathuUntil the time that his word came to pass, the word of HaShem tested him. כ20 שָׁלַח מֶלֶךְ וַיַּתִּירֵהוּ מֹשֵׁל עַמִּים וַֽיְפַתְּחֵֽהוּ׃ shalach melekh vayatirehu moshel amim vayfatchehuThe king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the peoples, and set him free. כא21 שָׂמוֹ אָדוֹן לְבֵיתוֹ וּמֹשֵׁל בְּכָל־קִנְיָנֽוֹ׃ samo adon leveito umoshel bekhal-kinyanoHe made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possessions; כב22 לֶאְסֹר שָׂרָיו בְּנַפְשׁוֹ וּזְקֵנָיו יְחַכֵּֽם׃ lesor sarayv benafsho uzkenayv yechakemTo bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom. כג23 וַיָּבֹא יִשְׂרָאֵל מִצְרָיִם וְיַעֲקֹב גָּר בְּאֶֽרֶץ־חָֽם׃ vayavo yisrael mitzrayim veyaakov gar beeretz-chamIsrael also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. כד24 וַיֶּפֶר אֶת־עַמּוֹ מְאֹד וַיַּֽעֲצִמֵהוּ מִצָּרָֽיו׃ vayefer et-amo meod vayaatzimehu mitzarayvAnd He increased His people greatly, and made them too mighty for their adversaries. כה25 הָפַךְ לִבָּם לִשְׂנֹא עַמּוֹ לְהִתְנַכֵּל בַּעֲבָדָֽיו׃ hafakh libam lisno amo lehitnakel baavadayvHe turned their heart to hate His people, to deal craftily with His servants. כו26 שָׁלַח מֹשֶׁה עַבְדּוֹ אַהֲרֹן אֲשֶׁר בָּֽחַר־בּֽוֹ׃ shalach mosheh avdo aharon asher bachar-boHe sent Moses His servant, and Aaron whom He had chosen. כז27 שָֽׂמוּ־בָם דִּבְרֵי אֹתוֹתָיו וּמֹפְתִים בְּאֶרֶץ חָֽם׃ samu-vam diverei ototayv umoftim beeretz chamThey wrought among them His manifold signs, and wonders in the land of Ham. כח28 שָׁלַֽח חֹשֶׁךְ וַיַּחְשִׁךְ וְלֹֽא־מָרוּ אֶת־דברוו׃ shalach choshekh vayacheshikh velo-maru et-dvrvvHe sent darkness, and it was dark; and they rebelled not against His word. כט29 הָפַךְ אֶת־מֵימֵיהֶם לְדָם וַיָּמֶת אֶת־דְּגָתָֽם׃ hafakh et-meimeihem ledam vayamet et-degatamHe turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish. ל30 שָׁרַץ אַרְצָם צְפַרְדְּעִים בְּחַדְרֵי מַלְכֵיהֶֽם׃ sharatz artzam tzefardim bechadrei malkheihemTheir land swarmed with frogs, in the chambers of their kings. לא31 אָמַר וַיָּבֹא עָרֹב כִּנִּים בְּכָל־גְּבוּלָֽם׃ amar vayavo arov kinim bekhal-gevulamHe spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats in all their borders. לב32 נָתַן גִּשְׁמֵיהֶם בָּרָד אֵשׁ לֶהָבוֹת בְּאַרְצָֽם׃ natan gishemeihem barad esh lehavot beartzamHe gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land. לג33 וַיַּךְ גַּפְנָם וּתְאֵנָתָם וַיְשַׁבֵּר עֵץ גְּבוּלָֽם׃ vayakhe gafenam utenatam vayshaber etz gevulamHe smote their vines also and their fig-trees; and broke the trees of their borders. לד34 אָמַר וַיָּבֹא אַרְבֶּה וְיֶלֶק וְאֵין מִסְפָּֽר׃ amar vayavo arbeh veyelek veein misparHe spoke, and the locust came, and the canker-worm without number, לה35 וַיֹּאכַל כָּל־עֵשֶׂב בְּאַרְצָם וַיֹּאכַל פְּרִי אַדְמָתָֽם׃ vayokhal kal-esev beartzam vayokhal peri admatamAnd did eat up every herb in their land, and did eat up the fruit of their ground. לו36 וַיַּךְ כָּל־בְּכוֹר בְּאַרְצָם רֵאשִׁית לְכָל־אוֹנָֽם׃ vayakhe kal-bekhor beartzam reshit lekhal-onamHe smote also all the first-born in their land, the first-fruits of all their strength. לז37 וַֽיּוֹצִיאֵם בְּכֶסֶף וְזָהָב וְאֵין בִּשְׁבָטָיו כּוֹשֵֽׁל׃ vayotziyem bekhesef vezahav veein bishevatayv koshelAnd He brought them forth with silver and gold; and there was none that stumbled among His tribes. לח38 שָׂמַח מִצְרַיִם בְּצֵאתָם כִּֽי־נָפַל פַּחְדָּם עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ samach mitzrayim betzetam ki-nafal pachedam aleihemEgypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen upon them. לט39 פָּרַשׂ עָנָן לְמָסָךְ וְאֵשׁ לְהָאִיר לָֽיְלָה׃ paras anan lemasakh veesh lehair laylahHe spread a cloud for a screen; and fire to give light in the night. מ40 שָׁאַל וַיָּבֵא שְׂלָו וְלֶחֶם שָׁמַיִם יַשְׂבִּיעֵֽם׃ shaal vayave selav velechem shamayim yasbiyemThey asked, and He brought quails, and gave them in plenty the bread of heaven. מא41 פָּתַח צוּר וַיָּזוּבוּ מָיִם הָלְכוּ בַּצִּיּוֹת נָהָֽר׃ patach tzur vayazuvu mayim halkhu batziyot naharHe opened the rock, and waters gushed out; they ran, a river in the dry places. מב42 כִּֽי־זָכַר אֶת־דְּבַר קָדְשׁוֹ אֶֽת־אַבְרָהָם עַבְדּֽוֹ׃ ki-zakhar et-devar kadsho et-avraham avdoFor He remembered His holy word unto Abraham His servant; מג43 וַיּוֹצִא עַמּוֹ בְשָׂשׂוֹן בְּרִנָּה אֶת־בְּחִירָֽיו׃ vayotzi amo vesason berinah et-bechirayvAnd He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with singing. מד44 וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם אַרְצוֹת גּוֹיִם וַעֲמַל לְאֻמִּים יִירָֽשׁוּ׃ vayiten lahem artzot goyim vaamal leumim yirashuAnd He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took the labour of the peoples in possession; מה45 בַּעֲבוּר ׀ יִשְׁמְרוּ חֻקָּיו וְתוֹרֹתָיו יִנְצֹרוּ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ baavur ׀ yishmru chukayv vetorotayv yintzoru hallu-yahThat they might keep His statutes, and observe His laws. Hallelujah.
