פרק א׳Psalm 1
א1 אַשְֽׁרֵי־הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר ׀ לֹא הָלַךְ בַּעֲצַת רְשָׁעִים וּבְדֶרֶךְ חַטָּאִים לֹא עָמָד וּבְמוֹשַׁב לֵצִים לֹא יָשָֽׁב׃ ashrei-haish asher ׀ lo halakh baatzat reshaim uvderekh chataim lo amad uvmoshav letzim lo yashavHAPPY IS the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of the scornful. ב2 כִּי אִם בְּתוֹרַת יְיָ חֶפְצוֹ וּֽבְתוֹרָתוֹ יֶהְגֶּה יוֹמָם וָלָֽיְלָה׃ ki im betorat Adonai cheftzo uvtorato yehgeh yomam valaylahBut his delight is in the law of HaShem; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. ג3 וְֽהָיָה כְּעֵץ שָׁתוּל עַֽל־פַּלְגֵי מָיִם אֲשֶׁר פִּרְיוֹ ׀ יִתֵּן בְּעִתּוֹ וְעָלֵהוּ לֹֽא־יִבּוֹל וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂה יַצְלִֽיחַ׃ vehayah keetz shatul al-palegei mayim asher pireyo ׀ yiten beito vealehu lo-yibol vekhol asher-yaaseh yatzlichaAnd he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf doth not wither; and in whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper. ד4 לֹא־כֵן הָרְשָׁעִים כִּי אִם־כַּמֹּץ אֲֽשֶׁר־תִּדְּפֶנּוּ רֽוּחַ׃ lo-khen harshaim ki im-kamotz asher-tidefenu ruchaNot so the wicked; but they are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. ה5 עַל־כֵּן ׀ לֹא־יָקֻמוּ רְשָׁעִים בַּמִּשְׁפָּט וְחַטָּאִים בַּעֲדַת צַדִּיקִֽים׃ al-ken ׀ lo-yakumu reshaim bamishepat vechataim baadat tzadikimTherefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. ו6 כִּֽי־יוֹדֵעַ יְיָ דֶּרֶךְ צַדִּיקִים וְדֶרֶךְ רְשָׁעִים תֹּאבֵֽד׃ ki-yodea Adonai derekh tzadikim vederekh reshaim tovedFor HaShem regardeth the way of the righteous; but the way of the wicked shall perish.
פרק ב׳Psalm 2
א1 לָמָּה רָגְשׁוּ גוֹיִם וּלְאֻמִּים יֶהְגּוּ־רִֽיק׃ lamah ragshu goyim ulumim yehgu-rikWhy are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain? ב2 יִתְיַצְּבוּ ׀ מַלְכֵי־אֶרֶץ וְרוֹזְנִים נֽוֹסְדוּ־יָחַד עַל־יְיָ וְעַל־מְשִׁיחֽוֹ׃ yityatzvu ׀ malkhei-eretz veroznim nosdu-yachad al-Adonai veal-meshichoThe kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together, against HaShem, and against His anointed: ג3 נְֽנַתְּקָה אֶת־מֽוֹסְרוֹתֵימוֹ וְנַשְׁלִיכָה מִמֶּנּוּ עֲבֹתֵֽימוֹ׃ nenatkah et-mosroteimo venashlikhah mimenu avoteimo'Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.' ד4 יוֹשֵׁב בַּשָּׁמַיִם יִשְׂחָק אֲדֹנָי יִלְעַג־לָֽמוֹ׃ yoshev bashamayim yischak Adonai yilag-lamoHe that sitteth in heaven laugheth, the L-rd hath them in derision. ה5 אָז יְדַבֵּר אֵלֵימוֹ בְאַפּוֹ וּֽבַחֲרוֹנוֹ יְבַהֲלֵֽמוֹ׃ az yedaber eleimo veapo uvacharono yevahalemoThen will He speak unto them in His wrath, and affright them in His sore displeasure: ו6 וַאֲנִי נָסַכְתִּי מַלְכִּי עַל־צִיּוֹן הַר־קָדְשִֽׁי׃ vaani nasakhti malki al-tziyon har-kadshi'Truly it is I that have established My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.' ז7 אֲסַפְּרָה אֶֽל חֹק יְֽהוָה אָמַר אֵלַי בְּנִי אַתָּה אֲנִי הַיּוֹם יְלִדְתִּֽיךָ׃ asaprah el chok Adonai amar elay beni atah ani hayom yelidtikhaI will tell of the decree: HaShem said unto me: 'Thou art My son, this day have I begotten thee. ח8 שְׁאַל מִמֶּנִּי וְאֶתְּנָה גוֹיִם נַחֲלָתֶךָ וַאֲחֻזָּתְךָ אַפְסֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ sheal mimeni veetnah goyim nachalatekha vaachuzatekha afsei-aretzAsk of Me, and I will give the nations for thine inheritance, and the ends of the earth for thy possession. ט9 תְּרֹעֵם בְּשֵׁבֶט בַּרְזֶל כִּכְלִי יוֹצֵר תְּנַפְּצֵֽם׃ teroem beshevet barezel kikheli yotzer tenaptzemThou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.' י10 וְעַתָּה מְלָכִים הַשְׂכִּילוּ הִוָּסְרוּ שֹׁפְטֵי אָֽרֶץ׃ veatah melakhim haskilu hivaseru shoftei aretzNow therefore, O ye kings, be wise; be admonished, ye judges of the earth. יא11 עִבְדוּ אֶת־יְיָ בְּיִרְאָה וְגִילוּ בִּרְעָדָֽה׃ ivdu et-Adonai beyirah vegilu bireadahServe HaShem with fear, and rejoice with trembling. יב12 נַשְּׁקוּ־בַר פֶּן־יֶאֱנַף ׀ וְתֹאבְדוּ דֶרֶךְ כִּֽי־יִבְעַר כִּמְעַט אַפּוֹ אַשְׁרֵי כָּל־חוֹסֵי בֽוֹ׃ nashku-var pen-yeenaf ׀ vetovdu derekh ki-yivar kimeat apo ashrei kal-chosei voDo homage in purity, lest He be angry, and ye perish in the way, when suddenly His wrath is kindled. Happy are all they that take refuge in Him.
פרק ג׳Psalm 3
א1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד בְּבָרְחוֹ מִפְּנֵי ׀ אַבְשָׁלוֹם בְּנֽוֹ׃ mizmor ledavid bevarcho mipnei ׀ avshalom benoA Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. ב2 יְיָ מָֽה־רַבּוּ צָרָי רַבִּים קָמִים עָלָֽי׃ Adonai mah-rabu tzaray rabim kamim alayHaShem, how many are mine adversaries become! Many are they that rise up against me. ג3 רַבִּים אֹמְרִים לְנַפְשִׁי אֵין יְֽשׁוּעָתָה לּוֹ בֵֽאלֹהִים סֶֽלָה׃ rabim omrim lenafshi ein yeshuatah lo velohim selahMany there are that say of my soul: 'There is no salvation for him in G-d.' Selah ד4 וְאַתָּה יְיָ מָגֵן בַּעֲדִי כְּבוֹדִי וּמֵרִים רֹאשִֽׁי׃ veatah Adonai magen baadi kevodi umerim roshiBut thou, O HaShem, art a shield about me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head. ה5 קוֹלִי אֶל־יְיָ אֶקְרָא וַיַּֽעֲנֵנִי מֵהַר קָדְשׁוֹ סֶֽלָה׃ koli el-Adonai ekra vayaaneni mehar kadsho selahWith my voice I call unto HaShem, and He answereth me out of His holy mountain. Selah ו6 אֲנִי שָׁכַבְתִּי וָֽאִישָׁנָה הֱקִיצוֹתִי כִּי יְיָ יִסְמְכֵֽנִי׃ ani shakhavti vaishanah hekitzoti ki Adonai yismkheniI lay me down, and I sleep; I awake, for HaShem sustaineth me. ז7 לֹֽא־אִירָא מֵרִבְבוֹת עָם אֲשֶׁר סָבִיב שָׁתוּ עָלָֽי׃ lo-ira merivvot am asher saviv shatu alayI am not afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. ח8 קוּמָה יְיָ ׀ הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי אֱלֹהַי כִּֽי־הִכִּיתָ אֶת־כָּל־אֹיְבַי לֶחִי שִׁנֵּי רְשָׁעִים שִׁבַּֽרְתָּ׃ kumah Adonai ׀ hoshiyeni elohay ki-hikita et-kal-oyvay lechi shinei reshaim shibaretaArise, O HaShem; save me, O my G-d; for Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek, Thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked. ט9 לַיהוָה הַיְשׁוּעָה עַֽל־עַמְּךָ בִרְכָתֶךָ סֶּֽלָה׃ layhvah hayshuah al-amkha virkhatekha selahSalvation belongeth unto HaShem; Thy blessing be upon Thy people. פרק ד׳Psalm 4
א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ בִּנְגִינוֹת מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha bineginot mizmor ledavidFor the Leader; with string-music. A Psalm of David. ב2 בְּקָרְאִי עֲנֵנִי ׀ אֱלֹהֵי צִדְקִי בַּצָּר הִרְחַבְתָּ לִּי חָנֵּנִי וּשְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃ bekari aneni ׀ Elohei tzidki batzar hirchavta li chaneni ushma tefilatiAnswer me when I call, O G-d of my righteousness, Thou who didst set me free when I was in distress; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer. ג3 בְּנֵי אִישׁ עַד־מֶה כְבוֹדִי לִכְלִמָּה תֶּאֱהָבוּן רִיק תְּבַקְשׁוּ כָזָב סֶֽלָה׃ benei ish ad-meh khevodi likhlimah teehavun rik tevakshu khazav selahO ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame, in that ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah ד4 וּדְעוּ כִּֽי־הִפְלָה יְיָ חָסִיד לוֹ יְיָ יִשְׁמַע בְּקָרְאִי אֵלָֽיו׃ udu ki-hiflah Adonai chasid lo Adonai yishma bekari elayvBut know that HaShem hath set apart the godly man as His own; HaShem will hear when I call unto Him. ה5 רִגְזוּ וְֽאַל־תֶּחֱטָאוּ אִמְרוּ בִלְבַבְכֶם עַֽל־מִשְׁכַּבְכֶם וְדֹמּוּ סֶֽלָה׃ rigzu veal-techetau imru vilvavkhem al-mishkavekhem vedomu selahTremble, and sin not; commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah ו6 זִבְחוּ זִבְחֵי־צֶדֶק וּבִטְחוּ אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃ zivchu zivchei-tzedek uvitchu el-AdonaiOffer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in HaShem. ז7 רַבִּים אֹמְרִים מִֽי־יַרְאֵנוּ טוֹב נְֽסָה־עָלֵינוּ אוֹר פָּנֶיךָ יְהוָֽה׃ rabim omrim mi-yarenu tov nesah-aleinu or paneikha AdonaiMany there are that say: 'Oh that we could see some good!' HaShem, lift Thou up the light of Thy countenance upon us. ח8 נָתַתָּה שִׂמְחָה בְלִבִּי מֵעֵת דְּגָנָם וְתִֽירוֹשָׁם רָֽבּוּ׃ natatah simchah velibi meet deganam vetirosham rabuThou hast put gladness in my heart, more than when their corn and their wine increase. ט9 בְּשָׁלוֹם יַחְדָּו אֶשְׁכְּבָה וְאִישָׁן כִּֽי־אַתָּה יְיָ לְבָדָד לָבֶטַח תּוֹשִׁיבֵֽנִי׃ beshalom yachdav eshkvah veishan ki-atah Adonai levadad lavetach toshiveniIn peace will I both lay me down and sleep; for Thou, HaShem, makest me dwell alone in safety.
פרק ה׳Psalm 5
א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ אֶֽל־הַנְּחִילוֹת מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha el-hanchilot mizmor ledavidFor the Leader; upon the Nehiloth. A Psalm of David. ב2 אֲמָרַי הַאֲזִינָה ׀ יְיָ בִּינָה הֲגִֽיגִי׃ amaray haazinah ׀ Adonai binah hagigiGive ear to my words, O HaShem, consider my meditation. ג3 הַקְשִׁיבָה ׀ לְקוֹל שַׁוְעִי מַלְכִּי וֵאלֹהָי כִּֽי־אֵלֶיךָ אֶתְפַּלָּֽל׃ hakshivah ׀ lekol shavi malki velohay ki-eleikha etpalalHearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my G-d; for unto Thee do I pray. ד4 יְֽהוָה בֹּקֶר תִּשְׁמַע קוֹלִי בֹּקֶר אֶֽעֱרָךְ־לְךָ וַאֲצַפֶּֽה׃ Adonai boker tishema koli boker eerakh-lekha vaatzapehO HaShem, in the morning shalt Thou hear my voice; in the morning will I order my prayer unto Thee, and will look forward. ה5 כִּי ׀ לֹא אֵֽל־חָפֵץ רֶשַׁע ׀ אָתָּה לֹא יְגֻרְךָ רָֽע׃ ki ׀ lo el-chafetz resha ׀ atah lo yegurkha raFor Thou art not a G-d that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with Thee. ו6 לֹֽא־יִתְיַצְּבוּ הֽוֹלְלִים לְנֶגֶד עֵינֶיךָ שָׂנֵאתָ כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ lo-yityatzvu hollim leneged eineikha saneta kal-poalei avenThe boasters shall not stand in Thy sight; Thou hatest all workers of iniquity. ז7 תְּאַבֵּד דֹּבְרֵי כָזָב אִישׁ־דָּמִים וּמִרְמָה יְתָעֵב ׀ יְהוָֽה׃ teabed doverei khazav ish-damim umirmah yetaev ׀ AdonaiThou destroyest them that speak falsehood; HaShem abhorreth the man of blood and of deceit. ח8 וַאֲנִי בְּרֹב חַסְדְּךָ אָבוֹא בֵיתֶךָ אֶשְׁתַּחֲוֶה אֶל־הֵֽיכַל־קָדְשְׁךָ בְּיִרְאָתֶֽךָ׃ vaani berov chasdkha avo veitekha eshtachaveh el-heikhal-kadshkha beyiratekhaBut as for me, in the abundance of Thy lovingkindness will I come into Thy house; I will bow down toward Thy holy temple in the fear of Thee. ט9 יְיָ ׀ נְחֵנִי בְצִדְקָתֶךָ לְמַעַן שׁוֹרְרָי הושר לְפָנַי דַּרְכֶּֽךָ׃ Adonai ׀ necheni vetzidkatekha lemaan shorray hvshr lefanay darekekhaO HaShem, lead me in Thy righteousness because of them that lie in wait for me; make Thy way straight before my face. י10 כִּי אֵין בְּפִיהוּ נְכוֹנָה קִרְבָּם הַוּוֹת קֶֽבֶר־פָּתוּחַ גְּרוֹנָם לְשׁוֹנָם יַחֲלִֽיקוּן׃ ki ein befihu nekhonah kirbam hauot kever-patucha geronam leshonam yachalikunFor there is no sincerity in their mouth; their inward part is a yawning gulf, their throat is an open sepulchre; they make smooth their tongue. יא11 הַֽאֲשִׁימֵם ׀ אֱֽלֹהִים יִפְּלוּ מִֽמֹּעֲצוֹתֵיהֶם בְּרֹב פִּשְׁעֵיהֶם הַדִּיחֵמוֹ כִּי־מָרוּ בָֽךְ׃ haashimem ׀ elohim yiplu mimoatzoteihem berov pisheeihem hadichemo ki-maru vakhHold them guilty, O G-d, let them fall by their own counsels; cast them down in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against Thee. יב12 וְיִשְׂמְחוּ כָל־חוֹסֵי בָךְ לְעוֹלָם יְרַנֵּנוּ וְתָסֵךְ עָלֵימוֹ וְֽיַעְלְצוּ בְךָ אֹהֲבֵי שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ veyismchu khal-chosei vakh leolam yeranenu vetasekh aleimo veyaltzu vekha ohavei shemekhaSo shall all those that take refuge in Thee rejoice, they shall ever shout for joy, and Thou shalt shelter them; let them also that love Thy name exult in Thee. יג13 כִּֽי־אַתָּה תְּבָרֵךְ צַדִּיק יְיָ כַּצִּנָּה רָצוֹן תַּעְטְרֶֽנּוּ׃ ki-atah tevarekh tzadik Adonai katzinah ratzon taetrenuFor Thou dost bless the righteous; O HaShem, Thou dost encompass him with favour as with a shield.
פרק ו׳Psalm 6
א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ בִּנְגִינוֹת עַֽל־הַשְּׁמִינִית מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha bineginot al-hashminit mizmor ledavidFor the Leader; with string-music; on the Sheminith. A Psalm of David. ב2 יְֽהוָה אַל־בְּאַפְּךָ תוֹכִיחֵנִי וְֽאַל־בַּחֲמָתְךָ תְיַסְּרֵֽנִי׃ Adonai al-beapkha tokhicheni veal-bachamatkha teyasreniO HaShem, rebuke me not in Thine anger, neither chasten me in Thy wrath. ג3 חָנֵּנִי יְיָ כִּי אֻמְלַל אָנִי רְפָאֵנִי יְיָ כִּי נִבְהֲלוּ עֲצָמָֽי׃ chaneni Adonai ki umlal ani refaeni Adonai ki nivhalu atzamayBe gracious unto me, O HaShem, for I languish away; heal me, O HaShem, for my bones are affrighted. ד4 וְנַפְשִׁי נִבְהֲלָה מְאֹד ואת יְיָ עַד־מָתָֽי׃ venafshi nivhalah meod vt Adonai ad-matayMy soul also is sore affrighted; and Thou, O HaShem, how long? ה5 שׁוּבָה יְיָ חַלְּצָה נַפְשִׁי הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי לְמַעַן חַסְדֶּֽךָ׃ shuvah Adonai chaltzah nafshi hoshiyeni lemaan chasdekhaReturn, O HaShem, deliver my soul; save me for Thy mercy's sake. ו6 כִּי אֵין בַּמָּוֶת זִכְרֶךָ בִּשְׁאוֹל מִי יֽוֹדֶה־לָּֽךְ׃ ki ein bamavet zikhrekha bisheol mi yodeh-lakheFor in death there is no remembrance of Thee; in the nether-world who will give Thee thanks? ז7 יָגַעְתִּי ׀ בְּֽאַנְחָתִי אַשְׂחֶה בְכָל־לַיְלָה מִטָּתִי בְּדִמְעָתִי עַרְשִׂי אַמְסֶֽה׃ yagati ׀ beanchati ascheh vekhal-laylah mitati bedimati arsi amsehI am weary with my groaning; every night make I my bed to swim; I melt away my couch with my tears. ח8 עָֽשְׁשָׁה מִכַּעַס עֵינִי עָֽתְקָה בְּכָל־צוֹרְרָֽי׃ ashshah mikaas eini atkah bekhal-tzorrayMine eye is dimmed because of vexation; it waxeth old because of all mine adversaries. ט9 סוּרוּ מִמֶּנִּי כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן כִּֽי־שָׁמַע יְיָ קוֹל בִּכְיִֽי׃ suru mimeni kal-poalei aven ki-shama Adonai kol bikheyiDepart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for HaShem hath heard the voice of my weeping. י10 שָׁמַע יְיָ תְּחִנָּתִי יְיָ תְּֽפִלָּתִי יִקָּֽח׃ shama Adonai techinati Adonai tefilati yikachHaShem hath heard my supplication; HaShem receiveth my prayer. יא11 יֵבֹשׁוּ ׀ וְיִבָּהֲלוּ מְאֹד כָּל־אֹיְבָי יָשֻׁבוּ יֵבֹשׁוּ רָֽגַע׃ yevoshu ׀ veyibahalu meod kal-oyvay yashuvu yevoshu ragaAll mine enemies shall be ashamed and sore affrighted; they shall turn back, they shall be ashamed suddenly.
פרק ז׳Psalm 7
א1 שִׁגָּיוֹן לְדָוִד אֲשֶׁר־שָׁר לַיהוָה עַל־דִּבְרֵי־כוּשׁ בֶּן־יְמִינִֽי׃ shigayon ledavid asher-shar layhvah al-diverei-khush ben-yeminiShiggaion of David, which he sang unto HaShem, concerning Cush a Benjamite. ב2 יְיָ אֱלֹהַי בְּךָ חָסִיתִי הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי מִכָּל־רֹדְפַי וְהַצִּילֵֽנִי׃ Adonai elohay bekha chasiti hoshiyeni mikal-rodfay vehatzileniO HaShem my G-d, in Thee have I taken refuge; save me from all them that pursue me, and deliver me; ג3 פֶּן־יִטְרֹף כְּאַרְיֵה נַפְשִׁי פֹּרֵק וְאֵין מַצִּֽיל׃ pen-yitrof kearyeh nafshi porek veein matzilLest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver. ד4 יְיָ אֱלֹהַי אִם־עָשִׂיתִי זֹאת אִֽם־יֶשׁ־עָוֶל בְּכַפָּֽי׃ Adonai elohay im-asiti zot im-yesh-avel bekhapayO HaShem my G-d, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands; ה5 אִם־גָּמַלְתִּי שֽׁוֹלְמִי רָע וָאֲחַלְּצָה צוֹרְרִי רֵיקָֽם׃ im-gamalti sholmi ra vaachaltzah tzorri reikamIf I have requited him that did evil unto me, or spoiled mine adversary unto emptiness; ו6 יִֽרַדֹּף אוֹיֵב ׀ נַפְשִׁי וְיַשֵּׂג וְיִרְמֹס לָאָרֶץ חַיָּי וּכְבוֹדִי ׀ לֶעָפָר יַשְׁכֵּן סֶֽלָה׃ yiradof oyev ׀ nafshi veyaseg veyirmos laaretz chayay ukhvodi ׀ leafar yashken selahLet the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it, and tread my life down to the earth; yea, let him lay my glory in the dust. Selah ז7 קוּמָה יְיָ ׀ בְּאַפֶּךָ הִנָּשֵׂא בְּעַבְרוֹת צוֹרְרָי וְעוּרָה אֵלַי מִשְׁפָּט צִוִּֽיתָ׃ kumah Adonai ׀ beapekha hinase beavrot tzorray veurah elay mishpat tzivitaArise, O HaShem, in Thine anger, lift up Thyself in indignation against mine adversaries; yea, awake for me at the judgment which Thou hast commanded. ח8 וַעֲדַת לְאֻמִּים תְּסוֹבְבֶךָּ וְעָלֶיהָ לַמָּרוֹם שֽׁוּבָה׃ vaadat leumim tesovveka vealeiha lamarom shuvahAnd let the congregation of the peoples compass Thee about, and over them return Thou on high. ט9 יְיָ יָדִין עַמִּים שָׁפְטֵנִי יְיָ כְּצִדְקִי וּכְתֻמִּי עָלָֽי׃ Adonai yadin amim shafteni Adonai ketzidki ukhtumi alayO HaShem, who ministerest judgment to the peoples, judge me, O HaShem, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me. י10 יִגְמָר־נָא רַע ׀ רְשָׁעִים וּתְכוֹנֵן צַדִּיק וּבֹחֵן לִבּוֹת וּכְלָיוֹת אֱלֹהִים צַדִּֽיק׃ yigmar-na ra ׀ reshaim utkhonen tzadik uvochen libot ukhlayot Elohim tzadikOh that a full measure of evil might come upon the wicked, and that Thou wouldest establish the righteous; for the righteous G-d trieth the heart and reins. יא11 מָֽגִנִּי עַל־אֱלֹהִים מוֹשִׁיעַ יִשְׁרֵי־לֵֽב׃ magini al-Elohim moshiya yishrei-levMy shield is with G-d, who saveth the upright in heart. יב12 אֱלֹהִים שׁוֹפֵט צַדִּיק וְאֵל זֹעֵם בְּכָל־יֽוֹם׃ Elohim shofet tzadik veel zoem bekhal-yomG-d is a righteous judge, yea, a G-d that hath indignation every day: יג13 אִם־לֹא יָשׁוּב חַרְבּוֹ יִלְטוֹשׁ קַשְׁתּוֹ דָרַךְ וַֽיְכוֹנְנֶֽהָ׃ im-lo yashuv charbo yiltosh kashto darakh vaykhonnehaIf a man turn not, He will whet His sword, He hath bent His bow, and made it ready; יד14 וְלוֹ הֵכִין כְּלֵי־מָוֶת חִצָּיו לְֽדֹלְקִים יִפְעָֽל׃ velo hekhin kelei-mavet chitzayv ledolkim yifalHe hath also prepared for him the weapons of death, yea, His arrows which He made sharp. טו15 הִנֵּה יְחַבֶּל־אָוֶן וְהָרָה עָמָל וְיָלַד שָֽׁקֶר׃ hineh yechabel-aven veharah amal veyalad shakerBehold, he travaileth with iniquity; yea, he conceiveth mischief, and bringeth forth falsehood. טז16 בּוֹר כָּרָֽה וַֽיַּחְפְּרֵהוּ וַיִּפֹּל בְּשַׁחַת יִפְעָֽל׃ bor karah vayacheprehu vayipol beshachat yifalHe hath digged a pit, and hollowed it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made. יז17 יָשׁוּב עֲמָלוֹ בְרֹאשׁוֹ וְעַל קָדְקֳדוֹ חֲמָסוֹ יֵרֵֽד׃ yashuv amalo verosho veal kadkodo chamaso yeredHis mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violence shall come down upon his own pate. יח18 אוֹדֶה יְיָ כְּצִדְקוֹ וַאֲזַמְּרָה שֵֽׁם־יְיָ עֶלְיֽוֹן׃ odeh Adonai ketzidko vaazamrah shem-Adonai elyonI will give thanks unto HaShem according to His righteousness; and will sing praise to the name of HaShem Most High.

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַֽל־הַגִּתִּית מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha al-hagitit mizmor ledavidFor the Leader; upon the Gittith. A Psalm of David. ב2 יְיָ אֲדֹנֵינוּ מָֽה־אַדִּיר שִׁמְךָ בְּכָל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר תְּנָה הוֹדְךָ עַל־הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ Adonai adoneinu mah-adir shimkha bekhal-haaretz asher tenah hodkha al-hashamayimO HaShem, our L-rd, how glorious is Thy name in all the earth! whose majesty is rehearsed above the heavens. ג3 מִפִּי עֽוֹלְלִים ׀ וְֽיֹנְקִים יִסַּדְתָּ עֹז לְמַעַן צוֹרְרֶיךָ לְהַשְׁבִּית אוֹיֵב וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם׃ mipi ollim ׀ veyonkim yisadeta oz lemaan tzorreikha lehashbit oyev umitnakemOut of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast Thou founded strength, because of Thine adversaries; that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. ד4 כִּֽי־אֶרְאֶה שָׁמֶיךָ מַעֲשֵׂי אֶצְבְּעֹתֶיךָ יָרֵחַ וְכוֹכָבִים אֲשֶׁר כּוֹנָֽנְתָּה׃ ki-ereh shameikha maasei etzboteikha yarecha vekhokhavim asher konantahWhen I behold Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast established; ה5 מָֽה־אֱנוֹשׁ כִּֽי־תִזְכְּרֶנּוּ וּבֶן־אָדָם כִּי תִפְקְדֶֽנּוּ׃ mah-enosh ki-tizkrenu uven-adam ki tifkdenuWhat is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou thinkest of him? ו6 וַתְּחַסְּרֵהוּ מְּעַט מֵאֱלֹהִים וְכָבוֹד וְהָדָר תְּעַטְּרֵֽהוּ׃ vatchasrehu meat meelohim vekhavod vehadar teatrehuYet Thou hast made him but little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. ז7 תַּמְשִׁילֵהוּ בְּמַעֲשֵׂי יָדֶיךָ כֹּל שַׁתָּה תַֽחַת־רַגְלָֽיו׃ tameshilehu bemaasei yadeikha kol shatah tachat-raglayvThou hast made him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under His feet: ח8 צֹנֶה וַאֲלָפִים כֻּלָּם וְגַם בַּהֲמוֹת שָׂדָֽי׃ tzoneh vaalafim kulam vegam bahamot sadaySheep and oxen, all of them, yea, and the beasts of the field; ט9 צִפּוֹר שָׁמַיִם וּדְגֵי הַיָּם עֹבֵר אָרְחוֹת יַמִּֽים׃ tzipor shamayim udgei hayam over archot yamimThe fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea; whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. י10 יְיָ אֲדֹנֵינוּ מָֽה־אַדִּיר שִׁמְךָ בְּכָל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Adonai adoneinu mah-adir shimkha bekhal-haaretzO HaShem, our L-rd, how glorious is Thy name in all the earth!

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַלְמוּת לַבֵּן מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha almut laben mizmor ledavidFor the Leader; upon Muthlabben. A Psalm of David. ב2 אוֹדֶה יְיָ בְּכָל־לִבִּי אֲסַפְּרָה כָּל־נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ odeh Adonai bekhal-libi asaprah kal-nifloteikhaI will give thanks unto HaShem with my whole heart; I will tell of all Thy marvellous works. ג3 אֶשְׂמְחָה וְאֶעֶלְצָה בָךְ אֲזַמְּרָה שִׁמְךָ עֶלְיֽוֹן׃ esmchah veeltzah vakh azamrah shimkha elyonI will be glad and exult in Thee; I will sing praise to Thy name, O Most High: ד4 בְּשׁוּב־אוֹיְבַי אָחוֹר יִכָּשְׁלוּ וְיֹאבְדוּ מִפָּנֶֽיךָ׃ beshuv-oyvay achor yikashelu veyovdu mipaneikhaWhen mine enemies are turned back, they stumble and perish at Thy presence; ה5 כִּֽי־עָשִׂיתָ מִשְׁפָּטִי וְדִינִי יָשַׁבְתָּ לְכִסֵּא שׁוֹפֵט צֶֽדֶק׃ ki-asita mishpati vedini yashavta lekhise shofet tzedekFor Thou hast maintained my right and my cause; Thou sattest upon the throne as the righteous Judge. ו6 גָּעַרְתָּ גוֹיִם אִבַּדְתָּ רָשָׁע שְׁמָם מָחִיתָ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶֽד׃ gaarta goyim ibadeta rasha shemam machita leolam vaedThou hast rebuked the nations, Thou hast destroyed the wicked, Thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever. ז7 הָֽאוֹיֵב ׀ תַּמּוּ חֳרָבוֹת לָנֶצַח וְעָרִים נָתַשְׁתָּ אָבַד זִכְרָם הֵֽמָּה׃ haoyev ׀ tamu choravot lanetzach vearim natashta avad zikhram hemahO thou enemy, the waste places are come to an end for ever; and the cities which thou didst uproot, their very memorial is perished. ח8 וַֽיהוָה לְעוֹלָם יֵשֵׁב כּוֹנֵן לַמִּשְׁפָּט כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ vayhvah leolam yeshev konen lamishepat kiseoBut HaShem is enthroned for ever; He hath established His throne for judgment. ט9 וְהוּא יִשְׁפֹּֽט־תֵּבֵל בְּצֶדֶק יָדִין לְאֻמִּים בְּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ vehu yishpot-tevel betzedek yadin leumim bemeisharimAnd He will judge the world in righteousness, He will minister judgment to the peoples with equity. י10 וִיהִי יְיָ מִשְׂגָּב לַדָּךְ מִשְׂגָּב לְעִתּוֹת בַּצָּרָֽה׃ vihi Adonai misgav ladakhe misgav leitot batzarahHaShem also will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble; יא11 וְיִבְטְחוּ בְךָ יוֹדְעֵי שְׁמֶךָ כִּי לֹֽא־עָזַבְתָּ דֹרְשֶׁיךָ יְהוָֽה׃ veyivtchu vekha yodei shemekha ki lo-azavta dorsheikha AdonaiAnd they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; for thou, HaShem, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee. יב12 זַמְּרוּ לַיהוָה יֹשֵׁב צִיּוֹן הַגִּידוּ בָעַמִּים עֲלִֽילוֹתָֽיו׃ zamru layhvah yoshev tziyon hagidu vaamim alilotayvSing praises to HaShem, who dwelleth in Zion; declare among the peoples His doings. יג13 כִּֽי־דֹרֵשׁ דָּמִים אוֹתָם זָכָר לֹֽא־שָׁכַח צַעֲקַת עניים׃ ki-doresh damim otam zakhar lo-shakhach tzaakat nyymFor He that avengeth blood hath remembered them; He hath not forgotten the cry of the humble. יד14 חָֽנְנֵנִי יְיָ רְאֵה עָנְיִי מִשֹּׂנְאָי מְרוֹמְמִי מִשַּׁעֲרֵי מָֽוֶת׃ channeni Adonai reeh anyi misoneay merommi mishaarei mavetBe gracious unto me, O HaShem, behold mine affliction at the hands of them that hate me; Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death; טו15 לְמַעַן אֲסַפְּרָה כָּֽל־תְּהִלָּתֶיךָ בְּשַֽׁעֲרֵי בַת־צִיּוֹן אָגִילָה בִּישׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃ lemaan asaprah kal-tehilateikha beshaarei vat-tziyon agilah bishuatekhaThat I may tell of all Thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion, that I may rejoice in Thy salvation. טז16 טָבְעוּ גוֹיִם בְּשַׁחַת עָשׂוּ בְּרֶֽשֶׁת־זוּ טָמָנוּ נִלְכְּדָה רַגְלָֽם׃ tavu goyim beshachat asu bereshet-zu tamanu nilkdah raglamThe nations are sunk down in the pit that they made; in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. יז17 נוֹדַע ׀ יְיָ מִשְׁפָּט עָשָׂה בְּפֹעַל כַּפָּיו נוֹקֵשׁ רָשָׁע הִגָּיוֹן סֶֽלָה׃ noda ׀ Adonai mishpat asah befoal kapayv nokesh rasha higayon selahHaShem hath made Himself known, He hath executed judgment, the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Selah יח18 יָשׁוּבוּ רְשָׁעִים לִשְׁאוֹלָה כָּל־גּוֹיִם שְׁכֵחֵי אֱלֹהִֽים׃ yashuvu reshaim lisholah kal-goyim shekhechei elohimThe wicked shall return to the nether-world, even all the nations that forget G-d. יט19 כִּי לֹא לָנֶצַח יִשָּׁכַח אֶבְיוֹן תִּקְוַת ענוים תֹּאבַד לָעַֽד׃ ki lo lanetzach yishakhach evyon tikevat nvym tovad laadFor the needy shall not alway be forgotten, nor the expectation of the poor perish for ever. כ20 קוּמָה יְיָ אַל־יָעֹז אֱנוֹשׁ יִשָּׁפְטוּ גוֹיִם עַל־פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ kumah Adonai al-yaoz enosh yishafetu goyim al-paneikhaArise, O HaShem, let not man prevail; let the nations be judged in Thy sight. כא21 שִׁיתָה יְיָ ׀ מוֹרָה לָהֶם יֵדְעוּ גוֹיִם אֱנוֹשׁ הֵמָּה סֶּֽלָה׃ shitah Adonai ׀ morah lahem yedu goyim enosh hemah selahSet terror over them, O HaShem; let the nations know they are but men. פרק י׳Psalm 10
א1 לָמָה יְיָ תַּעֲמֹד בְּרָחוֹק תַּעְלִים לְעִתּוֹת בַּצָּרָֽה׃ lamah Adonai taamod berachok taelim leitot batzarahWhy standest Thou afar off, O HaShem? Why hidest Thou Thyself in times of trouble? ב2 בְּגַאֲוַת רָשָׁע יִדְלַק עָנִי יִתָּפְשׂוּ ׀ בִּמְזִמּוֹת זוּ חָשָֽׁבוּ׃ begaavat rasha yidlak ani yitafesu ׀ bimezimot zu chashavuThrough the pride of the wicked the poor is hotly pursued, they are taken in the devices that they have imagined. ג3 כִּֽי־הִלֵּל רָשָׁע עַל־תַּאֲוַת נַפְשׁוֹ וּבֹצֵעַ בֵּרֵךְ נִאֵץ ׀ יְהוָֽה׃ ki-hilel rasha al-taavat nafsho uvotzea berekh nietz ׀ AdonaiFor the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and the covetous vaunteth himself, though he contemn HaShem. ד4 רָשָׁע כְּגֹבַהּ אַפּוֹ בַּל־יִדְרֹשׁ אֵין אֱלֹהִים כָּל־מְזִמּוֹתָֽיו׃ rasha kegovah apo bal-yidrosh ein Elohim kal-mezimotayvThe wicked, in the pride of his countenance, saith: 'He will not require'; all his thoughts are: 'There is no G-d.' ה5 יָחִילוּ דרכו ׀ בְּכָל־עֵת מָרוֹם מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ מִנֶּגְדּוֹ כָּל־צוֹרְרָיו יָפִיחַ בָּהֶֽם׃ yachilu drkhv ׀ bekhal-et marom mishpateikha minegedo kal-tzorrayv yaficha bahemHis ways prosper at all times; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight; as for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them. ו6 אָמַר בְּלִבּוֹ בַּל־אֶמּוֹט לְדֹר וָדֹר אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא־בְרָֽע׃ amar belibo bal-emot ledor vador asher lo-veraHe saith in his heart: 'I shall not be moved, I who to all generations shall not be in adversity.' ז7 אָלָה פִּיהוּ מָלֵא וּמִרְמוֹת וָתֹךְ תַּחַת לְשׁוֹנוֹ עָמָל וָאָֽוֶן׃ alah pihu male umirmot vatokh tachat leshono amal vaavenHis mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity. ח8 יֵשֵׁב ׀ בְּמַאְרַב חֲצֵרִים בַּֽמִּסְתָּרִים יַהֲרֹג נָקִי עֵינָיו לְֽחֵלְכָה יִצְפֹּֽנוּ׃ yeshev ׀ bemarav chatzerim bamisetarim yaharog naki einayv lechelkhah yitzponuHe sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in secret places doth he slay the innocent; his eyes are on the watch for the helpless. ט9 יֶאֱרֹב בַּמִּסְתָּר ׀ כְּאַרְיֵה בְסֻכֹּה יֶאֱרֹב לַחֲטוֹף עָנִי יַחְטֹף עָנִי בְּמָשְׁכוֹ בְרִשְׁתּֽוֹ׃ yeerov bamisetar ׀ kearyeh vesukoh yeerov lachatof ani yachtof ani bemashkho verishtoHe lieth in wait in a secret place as a lion in his lair, he lieth in wait to catch the poor; he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him up in his net. י10 ודכה יָשֹׁחַ וְנָפַל בַּעֲצוּמָיו חלכאים׃ vdkhh yashocha venafal baatzumayv chlkhymHe croucheth, he boweth down, and the helpless fall into his mighty claws. יא11 אָמַר בְּלִבּוֹ שָׁכַֽח אֵל הִסְתִּיר פָּנָיו בַּל־רָאָה לָנֶֽצַח׃ amar belibo shakhach el histir panayv bal-raah lanetzachHe hath said in his heart: 'G-d hath forgotten; He hideth His face; He will never see.' יב12 קוּמָה יְיָ אֵל נְשָׂא יָדֶךָ אַל־תִּשְׁכַּח עניים׃ kumah Adonai el nesa yadekha al-tishekach nyymArise, O HaShem; O G-d, lift up Thy hand; forget not the humble. יג13 עַל־מֶה ׀ נִאֵץ רָשָׁע ׀ אֱלֹהִים אָמַר בְּלִבּוֹ לֹא תִּדְרֹֽשׁ׃ al-meh ׀ nietz rasha ׀ Elohim amar belibo lo tideroshWherefore doth the wicked contemn G-d, and say in his heart: 'Thou wilt not require'? יד14 רָאִתָה כִּֽי־אַתָּה ׀ עָמָל וָכַעַס ׀ תַּבִּיט לָתֵת בְּיָדֶךָ עָלֶיךָ יַעֲזֹב חֵלֶכָה יָתוֹם אַתָּה ׀ הָיִיתָ עוֹזֵֽר׃ raitah ki-atah ׀ amal vakhaas ׀ tabit latet beyadekha aleikha yaazov chelekhah yatom atah ׀ hayita ozerThou hast seen; for Thou beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite them with Thy hand; unto Thee the helpless committeth himself; Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless. טו15 שְׁבֹר זְרוֹעַ רָשָׁע וָרָע תִּֽדְרוֹשׁ־רִשְׁעוֹ בַל־תִּמְצָֽא׃ shevor zeroa rasha vara tiderosh-risho val-timetzaBreak Thou the arm of the wicked; and as for the evil man, search out his wickedness, till none be found. טז16 יְיָ מֶלֶךְ עוֹלָם וָעֶד אָבְדוּ גוֹיִם מֵֽאַרְצֽוֹ׃ Adonai melekh olam vaed avdu goyim meartzoHaShem is King for ever and ever; the nations are perished out of His land. יז17 תַּאֲוַת עֲנָוִים שָׁמַעְתָּ יְיָ תָּכִין לִבָּם תַּקְשִׁיב אָזְנֶֽךָ׃ taavat anavim shamata Adonai takhin libam takeshiv aznekhaHaShem, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt direct their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to attend; יח18 לִשְׁפֹּט יָתוֹם וָדָךְ בַּל־יוֹסִיף עוֹד לַעֲרֹץ אֱנוֹשׁ מִן־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ lishpot yatom vadakh bal-yosif od laarotz enosh min-haaretzTo right the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may be terrible no more.

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִד בַּֽיהוָה ׀ חָסִיתִי אֵיךְ תֹּאמְרוּ לְנַפְשִׁי נודו הַרְכֶם צִפּֽוֹר׃ lamnatzecha ledavid bayhvah ׀ chasiti eikh tomru lenafshi nvdv harkhem tziporFor the Leader. A Psalm of David. In HaShem have I taken refuge; how say ye to my soul: 'Flee thou! to your mountain, ye birds'? ב2 כִּי הִנֵּה הָרְשָׁעִים יִדְרְכוּן קֶשֶׁת כּוֹנְנוּ חִצָּם עַל־יֶתֶר לִירוֹת בְּמוֹ־אֹפֶל לְיִשְׁרֵי־לֵֽב׃ ki hineh harshaim yidrkhun keshet konnu chitzam al-yeter lirot bemo-ofel leyishrei-levFor, lo, the wicked bend the bow, they have made ready their arrow upon the string, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart. ג3 כִּי הַשָּׁתוֹת יֵֽהָרֵסוּן צַדִּיק מַה־פָּעָֽל׃ ki hashatot yeharesun tzadik mah-paalWhen the foundations are destroyed, what hath the righteous wrought? ד4 יְיָ ׀ בְּֽהֵיכַל קָדְשׁוֹ יְיָ בַּשָּׁמַיִם כִּסְאוֹ עֵינָיו יֶחֱזוּ עַפְעַפָּיו יִבְחֲנוּ בְּנֵי אָדָֽם׃ Adonai ׀ beheikhal kadsho Adonai bashamayim kiseo einayv yechezu afapayv yivchanu benei adamHaShem is in His holy temple, HaShem, His throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men. ה5 יְיָ צַדִּיק יִבְחָן וְרָשָׁע וְאֹהֵב חָמָס שָֽׂנְאָה נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ Adonai tzadik yivchan verasha veohev chamas sanah nafshoHaShem trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth. ו6 יַמְטֵר עַל־רְשָׁעִים פַּחִים אֵשׁ וְגָפְרִית וְרוּחַ זִלְעָפוֹת מְנָת כּוֹסָֽם׃ yamter al-reshaim pachim esh vegafrit verucha zilafot menat kosamUpon the wicked He will cause to rain coals; fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup. ז7 כִּֽי־צַדִּיק יְיָ צְדָקוֹת אָהֵב יָשָׁר יֶחֱזוּ פָנֵֽימוֹ׃ ki-tzadik Adonai tzedakot ahev yashar yechezu faneimoFor HaShem is righteous, He loveth righteousness; the upright shall behold His face.

A Psalm of David. ב2 הוֹשִׁיעָה יְיָ כִּי־גָמַר חָסִיד כִּי־פַסּוּ אֱמוּנִים מִבְּנֵי אָדָֽם׃ hoshiyah Adonai ki-gamar chasid ki-fasu emunim mibnei adamHelp, HaShem; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. ג3 שָׁוְא ׀ יְֽדַבְּרוּ אִישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵהוּ שְׂפַת חֲלָקוֹת בְּלֵב וָלֵב יְדַבֵּֽרוּ׃ shav ׀ yedabru ish et-reehu sefat chalakot belev valev yedaberuThey speak falsehood every one with his neighbour; with flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak. ד4 יַכְרֵת יְיָ כָּל־שִׂפְתֵי חֲלָקוֹת לָשׁוֹן מְדַבֶּרֶת גְּדֹלֽוֹת׃ yakhret Adonai kal-siftei chalakot lashon medaberet gedolotMay HaShem cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things! ה5 אֲשֶׁר אָֽמְרוּ ׀ לִלְשֹׁנֵנוּ נַגְבִּיר שְׂפָתֵינוּ אִתָּנוּ מִי אָדוֹן לָֽנוּ׃ asher amru ׀ lilshonenu nagbir sefateinu itanu mi adon lanuWho have said: 'Our tongue will we make mighty; our lips are with us: who is lord over us?' ו6 מִשֹּׁד עֲנִיִּים מֵאַנְקַת אֶבְיוֹנִים עַתָּה אָקוּם יֹאמַר יְיָ אָשִׁית בְּיֵשַׁע יָפִיחַֽ לֽוֹ׃ mishod aniyim meankat evyonim atah akum yomar Adonai ashit beyesha yaficha lo'For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise', saith HaShem; 'I will set him in safety at whom they puff.' ז7 אִֽמֲרוֹת יְיָ אֲמָרוֹת טְהֹרוֹת כֶּסֶף צָרוּף בַּעֲלִיל לָאָרֶץ מְזֻקָּק שִׁבְעָתָֽיִם׃ imarot Adonai amarot tehorot kesef tzaruf baalil laaretz mezukak shivatayimThe words of HaShem are pure words, as silver tried in a crucible on the earth, refined seven times. ח8 אַתָּֽה־יְיָ תִּשְׁמְרֵם תִּצְּרֶנּוּ ׀ מִן־הַדּוֹר זוּ לְעוֹלָֽם׃ atah-Adonai tishemrem titzerenu ׀ min-hador zu leolamThou wilt keep them, O HaShem; Thou wilt preserve us from this generation for ever. ט9 סָבִיב רְשָׁעִים יִתְהַלָּכוּן כְּרֻם זֻלּוּת לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃ saviv reshaim yithalakhun kerum zulut livnei adamThe wicked walk on every side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha mizmor ledavidFor the Leader. A Psalm of David. ב2 עַד־אָנָה יְיָ תִּשְׁכָּחֵנִי נֶצַח עַד־אָנָה ׀ תַּסְתִּיר אֶת־פָּנֶיךָ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ ad-anah Adonai tishekacheni netzach ad-anah ׀ tasetir et-paneikha mimeniHow long, O HaShem, wilt Thou forget me for ever? How long wilt Thou hide Thy face from me? ג3 עַד־אָנָה אָשִׁית עֵצוֹת בְּנַפְשִׁי יָגוֹן בִּלְבָבִי יוֹמָם עַד־אָנָה ׀ יָרוּם אֹיְבִי עָלָֽי׃ ad-anah ashit etzot benafshi yagon bilevavi yomam ad-anah ׀ yarum oyvi alayHow long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart by day? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? ד4 הַבִּיטָֽה עֲנֵנִי יְיָ אֱלֹהָי הָאִירָה עֵינַי פֶּן־אִישַׁן הַמָּֽוֶת׃ habitah aneni Adonai elohay hairah einay pen-ishan hamavetBehold Thou, and answer me, O HaShem my G-d; lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; ה5 פֶּן־יֹאמַר אֹיְבִי יְכָלְתִּיו צָרַי יָגִילוּ כִּי אֶמּֽוֹט׃ pen-yomar oyvi yekhaltiv tzaray yagilu ki emotLest mine enemy say: 'I have prevailed against him'; lest mine adversaries rejoice when I am moved. ו6 וַאֲנִי ׀ בְּחַסְדְּךָ בָטַחְתִּי יָגֵל לִבִּי בִּֽישׁוּעָתֶךָ אָשִׁירָה לַיהוָה כִּי גָמַל עָלָֽי׃ vaani ׀ bechasdkha vatachti yagel libi bishuatekha ashirah layhvah ki gamal alayBut as for me, in Thy mercy do I trust; my heart shall rejoice in Thy salvation. I will sing unto HaShem, because He hath dealt bountifully with me.
פרק י״דPsalm 14
א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִד אָמַר נָבָל בְּלִבּוֹ אֵין אֱלֹהִים הִֽשְׁחִיתוּ הִֽתְעִיבוּ עֲלִילָה אֵין עֹֽשֵׂה־טֽוֹב׃ lamnatzecha ledavid amar naval belibo ein Elohim hishchitu hitivu alilah ein oseh-tovFor the Leader. A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart: 'There is no G-d'; they have dealt corruptly, they have done abominably; there is none that doeth good. ב2 יְֽהוָה מִשָּׁמַיִם הִשְׁקִיף עַֽל־בְּנֵי־אָדָם לִרְאוֹת הֲיֵשׁ מַשְׂכִּיל דֹּרֵשׁ אֶת־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ Adonai mishamayim hishkif al-benei-adam lirot hayesh maskil doresh et-elohimHaShem looked forth from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any man of understanding, that did seek after G-d. ג3 הַכֹּל סָר יַחְדָּו נֶאֱלָחוּ אֵין עֹֽשֵׂה־טוֹב אֵין גַּם־אֶחָֽד׃ hakol sar yachdav neelachu ein oseh-tov ein gam-echadThey are all corrupt, they are together become impure; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. ד4 הֲלֹא יָדְעוּ כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן אֹכְלֵי עַמִּי אָכְלוּ לֶחֶם יְיָ לֹא קָרָֽאוּ׃ halo yadu kal-poalei aven okhlei ami akhlu lechem Adonai lo karau'Shall not all the workers of iniquity know it, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and call not upon HaShem?' ה5 שָׁם ׀ פָּחֲדוּ פָחַד כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים בְּדוֹר צַדִּֽיק׃ sham ׀ pachadu fachad ki-Elohim bedor tzadikThere are they in great fear; for G-d is with the righteous generation. ו6 עֲצַת־עָנִי תָבִישׁוּ כִּי יְיָ מַחְסֵֽהוּ׃ atzat-ani tavishu ki Adonai machsehuYe would put to shame the counsel of the poor, but HaShem is his refuge. ז7 מִי יִתֵּן מִצִּיּוֹן יְשׁוּעַת יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּשׁוּב יְיָ שְׁבוּת עַמּוֹ יָגֵל יַעֲקֹב יִשְׂמַח יִשְׂרָֽאֵל׃ mi yiten mitziyon yeshuat yisrael beshuv Adonai shevut amo yagel yaakov yismach yisraelOh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When HaShem turneth the captivity of His people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
פרק ט״וPsalm 15
א1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהֹוָה מִי־יָגוּר בְּאָהֳלֶךָ מִֽי־יִשְׁכֹּן בְּהַר קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃ mizmor ledavid Adonai mi-yagur beaholekha mi-yishkon behar kadshekhaA Psalm of David. HaShem, who shall sojourn in Thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell upon Thy holy mountain? ב2 הוֹלֵךְ תָּמִים וּפֹעֵל צֶדֶק וְדֹבֵר אֱמֶת בִּלְבָבֽוֹ׃ holekh tamim ufoel tzedek vedover emet bilevavoHe that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh truth in his heart; ג3 לֹֽא־רָגַל ׀ עַל־לְשֹׁנוֹ לֹא־עָשָׂה לְרֵעֵהוּ רָעָה וְחֶרְפָּה לֹא־נָשָׂא עַל־קְרֹֽבוֹ׃ lo-ragal ׀ al-leshono lo-asah lereehu raah vecherpah lo-nasa al-kerovoThat hath no slander upon his tongue, nor doeth evil to his fellow, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour; ד4 נִבְזֶה ׀ בְּֽעֵינָיו נִמְאָס וְאֶת־יִרְאֵי יְיָ יְכַבֵּד נִשְׁבַּע לְהָרַע וְלֹא יָמִֽר׃ nivzeh ׀ beeinayv nimas veet-yirei Adonai yekhabed nishba lehara velo yamirIn whose eyes a vile person is despised, but he honoureth them that fear HaShem; he that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not; ה5 כַּסְפּוֹ ׀ לֹא־נָתַן בְּנֶשֶׁךְ וְשֹׁחַד עַל־נָקִי לֹא לָקָח עֹֽשֵׂה־אֵלֶּה לֹא יִמּוֹט לְעוֹלָֽם׃ kasepo ׀ lo-natan beneshekh veshochad al-naki lo lakach oseh-eleh lo yimot leolamHe that putteth not out his money on interest, nor taketh a bribe against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
פרק ט״זPsalm 16
א1 מִכְתָּם לְדָוִד שָֽׁמְרֵנִי אֵל כִּֽי־חָסִיתִי בָֽךְ׃ mikhtam ledavid shamreni el ki-chasiti vakhMichtam of David. Keep me, O G-d; for I have taken refuge in Thee. ב2 אָמַרְתְּ לַֽיהוָה אֲדֹנָי אָתָּה טוֹבָתִי בַּל־עָלֶֽיךָ׃ amart layhvah Adonai atah tovati bal-aleikhaI have said unto HaShem: 'Thou art my L-rd; I have no good but in Thee'; ג3 לִקְדוֹשִׁים אֲשֶׁר־בָּאָרֶץ הֵמָּה וְאַדִּירֵי כָּל־חֶפְצִי־בָֽם׃ likdoshim asher-baaretz hemah veadirei kal-cheftzi-vamAs for the holy that are in the earth, they are the excellent in whom is all my delight. ד4 יִרְבּוּ עַצְּבוֹתָם אַחֵר מָהָרוּ בַּל־אַסִּיךְ נִסְכֵּיהֶם מִדָּם וּֽבַל־אֶשָּׂא אֶת־שְׁמוֹתָם עַל־שְׂפָתָֽי׃ yirbu atzvotam acher maharu bal-asikh niskeihem midam uval-esa et-shemotam al-sefatayLet the idols of them be multiplied that make suit unto another; their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take their names upon my lips. ה5 יְֽהוָה מְנָת־חֶלְקִי וְכוֹסִי אַתָּה תּוֹמִיךְ גּוֹרָלִֽי׃ Adonai menat-chelki vekhosi atah tomikh goraliO HaShem, the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup, Thou maintainest my lot. ו6 חֲבָלִים נָֽפְלוּ־לִי בַּנְּעִמִים אַף־נַחֲלָת שָֽׁפְרָה עָלָֽי׃ chavalim naflu-li baneimim af-nachalat shafrah alayThe lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. ז7 אֲבָרֵךְ אֶת־יְיָ אֲשֶׁר יְעָצָנִי אַף־לֵילוֹת יִסְּרוּנִי כִלְיוֹתָֽי׃ avarekh et-Adonai asher yeatzani af-leilot yisruni khilyotayI will bless HaShem, who hath given me counsel; yea, in the night seasons my reins instruct me. ח8 שִׁוִּיתִי יְיָ לְנֶגְדִּי תָמִיד כִּי מִֽימִינִי בַּל־אֶמּֽוֹט׃ shiviti Adonai lenegdi tamid ki mimini bal-emotI have set HaShem always before me; surely He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. ט9 לָכֵן ׀ שָׂמַח לִבִּי וַיָּגֶל כְּבוֹדִי אַף־בְּשָׂרִי יִשְׁכֹּן לָבֶֽטַח׃ lakhen ׀ samach libi vayagel kevodi af-besari yishkon lavetachTherefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth; my flesh also dwelleth in safety; י10 כִּי ׀ לֹא־תַעֲזֹב נַפְשִׁי לִשְׁאוֹל לֹֽא־תִתֵּן חֲסִידְךָ לִרְאוֹת שָֽׁחַת׃ ki ׀ lo-taazov nafshi lishol lo-titen chasidkha lirot shachatFor Thou wilt not abandon my soul to the nether-world; neither wilt Thou suffer Thy godly one to see the pit. יא11 תּֽוֹדִיעֵנִי אֹרַח חַיִּים שֹׂבַע שְׂמָחוֹת אֶת־פָּנֶיךָ נְעִמוֹת בִּימִינְךָ נֶֽצַח׃ todiyeni orach chayim sova semachot et-paneikha neimot biminkha netzachThou makest me to know the path of life; in Thy presence is fulness of joy, in Thy right hand bliss for evermore.

א1 תְּפִלָּה לְדָוִד שִׁמְעָה יְיָ ׀ צֶדֶק הַקְשִׁיבָה רִנָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה תְפִלָּתִי בְּלֹא שִׂפְתֵי מִרְמָֽה׃ tefilah ledavid shimah Adonai ׀ tzedek hakshivah rinati haazinah tefilati belo siftei mirmahA Prayer of David. Hear the right, O HaShem, attend unto my cry; give ear unto my prayer from lips without deceit. ב2 מִלְּפָנֶיךָ מִשְׁפָּטִי יֵצֵא עֵינֶיךָ תֶּחֱזֶינָה מֵישָׁרִֽים׃ milfaneikha mishpati yetze eineikha techezeinah meisharimLet my judgment come forth from Thy presence; let Thine eyes behold equity. ג3 בָּחַנְתָּ לִבִּי ׀ פָּקַדְתָּ לַּיְלָה צְרַפְתַּנִי בַל־תִּמְצָא זַמֹּתִי בַּל־יַעֲבָר־פִּֽי׃ bachanta libi ׀ pakadta layelah tzeraftani val-timetza zamoti bal-yaavar-piThou hast tried my heart, Thou hast visited it in the night; Thou hast tested me, and Thou findest not that I had a thought which should not pass my mouth. ד4 לִפְעֻלּוֹת אָדָם בִּדְבַר שְׂפָתֶיךָ אֲנִי שָׁמַרְתִּי אָרְחוֹת פָּרִֽיץ׃ lifulot adam bidevar sefateikha ani shamarti archot paritzAs for the doings of men, by the word of Thy lips I have kept me from the ways of the violent. ה5 תָּמֹךְ אֲשֻׁרַי בְּמַעְגְּלוֹתֶיךָ בַּל־נָמוֹטּוּ פְעָמָֽי׃ tamokh ashuray bemagloteikha bal-namotu feamayMy steps have held fast to Thy paths, my feet have not slipped. ו6 אֲנִֽי־קְרָאתִיךָ כִֽי־תַעֲנֵנִי אֵל הַֽט־אָזְנְךָ לִי שְׁמַע אִמְרָתִֽי׃ ani-keratikha khi-taaneni el hat-aznkha li shema imratiAs for me, I call upon Thee, for Thou wilt answer me, O G-d; incline Thine ear unto me, hear my speech. ז7 הַפְלֵה חֲסָדֶיךָ מוֹשִׁיעַ חוֹסִים מִמִּתְקוֹמְמִים בִּֽימִינֶֽךָ׃ hafleh chasadeikha moshiya chosim mimitekommim biminekhaMake passing great Thy mercies, O Thou that savest by Thy right hand from assailants them that take refuge in Thee. ח8 שָׁמְרֵנִי כְּאִישׁוֹן בַּת־עָיִן בְּצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ תַּסְתִּירֵֽנִי׃ shamreni keishon bat-ayin betzel kenafeikha tasetireniKeep me as the apple of the eye, hide me in the shadow of Thy wings, ט9 מִפְּנֵי רְשָׁעִים זוּ שַׁדּוּנִי אֹיְבַי בְּנֶפֶשׁ יַקִּיפוּ עָלָֽי׃ mipnei reshaim zu shaduni oyvay benefesh yakifu alayFrom the wicked that oppress, my deadly enemies, that compass me about. י10 חֶלְבָּמוֹ סָּגְרוּ פִּימוֹ דִּבְּרוּ בְגֵאֽוּת׃ chelbamo sageru pimo diberu vegeutTheir gross heart they have shut tight, with their mouth they speak proudly. יא11 אַשֻּׁרֵינוּ עַתָּה סבבוני עֵינֵיהֶם יָשִׁיתוּ לִנְטוֹת בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ ashureinu atah svvny eineihem yashitu lintot baaretzAt our every step they have now encompassed us; they set their eyes to cast us down to the earth. יב12 דִּמְיֹנוֹ כְּאַרְיֵה יִכְסוֹף לִטְרוֹף וְכִכְפִיר יֹשֵׁב בְּמִסְתָּרִֽים׃ dimeyono kearyeh yikhsof litrof vekhikhfir yoshev bemistarimHe is like a lion that is eager to tear in pieces, and like a young lion lurking in secret places. יג13 קוּמָה יְיָ קַדְּמָה פָנָיו הַכְרִיעֵהוּ פַּלְּטָה נַפְשִׁי מֵרָשָׁע חַרְבֶּֽךָ׃ kumah Adonai kadmah fanayv hakhriyehu paletah nafshi merasha charbekhaArise, O HaShem, confront him, cast him down; deliver my soul from the wicked, by Thy sword; יד14 מִֽמְתִים יָדְךָ ׀ יְיָ מִֽמְתִים מֵחֶלֶד חֶלְקָם בַּֽחַיִּים וצפינך תְּמַלֵּא בִטְנָם יִשְׂבְּעוּ בָנִים וְהִנִּיחוּ יִתְרָם לְעוֹלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ mimtim yadkha ׀ Adonai mimtim mecheled chelkam bachayim vtzfynkh temale vitnam yisbu vanim vehinichu yitram leolleihemFrom men, by Thy hand, O HaShem, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life, and whose belly Thou fillest with Thy treasure; who have children in plenty, and leave their abundance to their babes. טו15 אֲנִי בְּצֶדֶק אֶחֱזֶה פָנֶיךָ אֶשְׂבְּעָה בְהָקִיץ תְּמוּנָתֶֽךָ׃ ani betzedek echezeh faneikha esbah vehakitz temunatekhaAs for me, I shall behold Thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness.
פרק י״חPsalm 18
א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ ׀ לְעֶבֶד יְיָ לְדָוִד אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר ׀ לַיהוָה אֶת־דִּבְרֵי הַשִּׁירָה הַזֹּאת בְּיוֹם הִֽצִּיל־יְיָ אוֹתוֹ מִכַּף כָּל־אֹיְבָיו וּמִיַּד שָׁאֽוּל׃ lamnatzecha ׀ leeved Adonai ledavid asher diber ׀ layhvah et-diverei hashirah hazot beyom hitzil-Adonai oto mikaf kal-oyvayv umiyad shaulFor the Leader. A Psalm of David the servant of HaShem, who spoke unto HaShem the words of this song in the day that HaShem delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul; ב2 וַיֹּאמַר אֶרְחָמְךָ יְיָ חִזְקִֽי׃ vayomar erchamkha Adonai chizkiAnd he said: I love thee, O HaShem, my strength. ג3 יְיָ ׀ סַֽלְעִי וּמְצוּדָתִי וּמְפַלְטִי אֵלִי צוּרִי אֶֽחֱסֶה־בּוֹ מָֽגִנִּי וְקֶֽרֶן־יִשְׁעִי מִשְׂגַּבִּֽי׃ Adonai ׀ sali umtzudati umfalti eli tzuri echeseh-bo magini vekeren-yishi misgabiHaShem is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my G-d, my rock, in Him I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower. ד4 מְהֻלָּל אֶקְרָא יְיָ וּמִן־אֹיְבַי אִוָּשֵֽׁעַ׃ mehulal ekra Adonai umin-oyvay ivasheaPraised, I cry, is HaShem, and I am saved from mine enemies. ה5 אֲפָפוּנִי חֶבְלֵי־מָוֶת וְֽנַחֲלֵי בְלִיַּעַל יְבַֽעֲתֽוּנִי׃ afafuni chevlei-mavet venachalei veliyaal yevaatuniThe cords of Death compassed me, and the floods of Belial assailed me. ו6 חֶבְלֵי שְׁאוֹל סְבָבוּנִי קִדְּמוּנִי מוֹקְשֵׁי מָֽוֶת׃ chevlei sheol sevavuni kidmuni mokshei mavetThe cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of Death confronted me. ז7 בַּצַּר־לִי ׀ אֶֽקְרָא יְיָ וְאֶל־אֱלֹהַי אֲשַׁוֵּעַ יִשְׁמַע מֵהֵיכָלוֹ קוֹלִי וְשַׁוְעָתִי לְפָנָיו ׀ תָּבוֹא בְאָזְנָֽיו׃ batzar-li ׀ ekra Adonai veel-elohay ashavea yishma meheikhalo koli veshavati lefanayv ׀ tavo veaznayvIn my distress I called upon HaShem, and cried unto my G-d; out of His temple He heard my voice, and my cry came before Him unto His ears. ח8 וַתִּגְעַשׁ וַתִּרְעַשׁ ׀ הָאָרֶץ וּמוֹסְדֵי הָרִים יִרְגָּזוּ וַיִּתְגָּֽעֲשׁוּ כִּי־חָרָה לֽוֹ׃ vatigeash vatireash ׀ haaretz umosdei harim yirgazu vayitegaashu ki-charah loThen the earth did shake and quake, the foundations also of the mountains did tremble; they were shaken, because He was wroth. ט9 עָלָה עָשָׁן ׀ בְּאַפּוֹ וְאֵשׁ־מִפִּיו תֹּאכֵל גֶּחָלִים בָּעֲרוּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ alah ashan ׀ beapo veesh-mipiv tokhel gechalim baaru mimenuSmoke arose up in His nostrils, and fire out of His mouth did devour; coals flamed forth from Him. י10 וַיֵּט שָׁמַיִם וַיֵּרַד וַעֲרָפֶל תַּחַת רַגְלָֽיו׃ vayet shamayim vayerad vaarafel tachat raglayvHe bowed the heavens also, and came down; and thick darkness was under His feet. יא11 וַיִּרְכַּב עַל־כְּרוּב וַיָּעֹף וַיֵּדֶא עַל־כַּנְפֵי־רֽוּחַ׃ vayirekav al-keruv vayaof vayede al-kanefei-ruchaAnd He rode upon a cherub, and did fly; yea, He did swoop down upon the wings of the wind. יב12 יָשֶׁת חֹשֶׁךְ ׀ סִתְרוֹ סְבִֽיבוֹתָיו סֻכָּתוֹ חֶשְׁכַת־מַיִם עָבֵי שְׁחָקִֽים׃ yashet choshekh ׀ sitro sevivotayv sukato cheshkhat-mayim avei shechakimHe made darkness His hiding-place, His pavilion round about Him; hailstones and coals of fire. טו15 וַיִּשְׁלַח חִצָּיו וַיְפִיצֵם וּבְרָקִים רָב וַיְהֻמֵּֽם׃ vayishelach chitzayv vayfitzem uvrakim rav vayhumemAnd He sent out His arrows, and scattered them; and He shot forth lightnings, and discomfited them. טז16 וַיֵּרָאוּ ׀ אֲפִיקֵי מַיִם וַֽיִּגָּלוּ מוֹסְדוֹת תֵּבֵל מִגַּעֲרָתְךָ יְיָ מִנִּשְׁמַת רוּחַ אַפֶּֽךָ׃ vayerau ׀ afikei mayim vayigalu mosdot tevel migaaratkha Adonai minishemat rucha apekhaAnd the channels of waters appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare, at Thy rebuke, O HaShem, at the blast of the breath of Thy nostrils. יז17 יִשְׁלַח מִמָּרוֹם יִקָּחֵנִי יַֽמְשֵׁנִי מִמַּיִם רַבִּֽים׃ yishlach mimarom yikacheni yamsheni mimayim rabimHe sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. יח18 יַצִּילֵנִי מֵאֹיְבִי עָז וּמִשֹּׂנְאַי כִּֽי־אָמְצוּ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ yatzileni meoyvi az umisoneay ki-amtzu mimeniHe delivered me from mine enemy most strong, and from them that hated me, for they were too mighty for me. יט19 יְקַדְּמוּנִי בְיוֹם־אֵידִי וַֽיְהִי־יְיָ לְמִשְׁעָן לִֽי׃ yekadmuni veyom-eidi vayhi-Adonai lemishan liThey confronted me in the day of my calamity; but HaShem was a stay unto me. כ20 וַיּוֹצִיאֵנִי לַמֶּרְחָב יְחַלְּצֵנִי כִּי חָפֵֽץ בִּֽי׃ vayotziyeni lamerechav yechaltzeni ki chafetz biHe brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me. כא21 יִגְמְלֵנִי יְיָ כְּצִדְקִי כְּבֹר יָדַי יָשִׁיב לִֽי׃ yigmleni Adonai ketzidki kevor yaday yashiv liHaShem rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath He recompensed me. כב22 כִּֽי־שָׁמַרְתִּי דַּרְכֵי יְיָ וְלֹֽא־רָשַׁעְתִּי מֵאֱלֹהָֽי׃ ki-shamarti darekhei Adonai velo-rashati meelohayFor I have kept the ways of HaShem, and have not wickedly departed from my G-d. כג23 כִּי כָל־מִשְׁפָּטָיו לְנֶגְדִּי וְחֻקֹּתָיו לֹא־אָסִיר מֶֽנִּי׃ ki khal-mishpatayv lenegdi vechukotayv lo-asir meniFor all His ordinances were before me, and I put not away His statutes from me. כד24 וָאֱהִי תָמִים עִמּוֹ וָאֶשְׁתַּמֵּר מֵעֲוֺנִֽי׃ vaehi tamim imo vaeshtamer meaoniAnd I was single-hearted with Him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity. כה25 וַיָּֽשֶׁב־יְיָ לִי כְצִדְקִי כְּבֹר יָדַי לְנֶגֶד עֵינָֽיו׃ vayashev-Adonai li khetzidki kevor yaday leneged einayvTherefore hath HaShem recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes. כו26 עִם־חָסִיד תִּתְחַסָּד עִם־גְּבַר תָּמִים תִּתַּמָּֽם׃ im-chasid titechasad im-gevar tamim titamamWith the merciful Thou dost show Thyself merciful, with the upright man Thou dost show Thyself upright; כז27 עִם־נָבָר תִּתְבָּרָר וְעִם־עִקֵּשׁ תִּתְפַּתָּֽל׃ im-navar titebarar veim-ikesh titepatalWith the pure Thou dost show Thyself pure; and with the crooked Thou dost show Thyself subtle. כח28 כִּֽי־אַתָּה עַם־עָנִי תוֹשִׁיעַ וְעֵינַיִם רָמוֹת תַּשְׁפִּֽיל׃ ki-atah am-ani toshiya veeinayim ramot tashepilFor Thou dost save the afflicted people; but the haughty eyes Thou dost humble. כט29 כִּֽי־אַתָּה תָּאִיר נֵרִי יְיָ אֱלֹהַי יַגִּיהַּ חָשְׁכִּֽי׃ ki-atah tair neri Adonai elohay yagiha chashkiFor Thou dost light my lamp; HaShem my G-d doth lighten my darkness. ל30 כִּֽי־בְךָ אָרֻץ גְּדוּד וּבֵֽאלֹהַי אֲדַלֶּג־שֽׁוּר׃ ki-vekha arutz gedud uvelohay adaleg-shurFor by Thee I run upon a troop; and by my G-d do I scale a wall. לא31 הָאֵל תָּמִים דַּרְכּוֹ אִמְרַֽת־יְיָ צְרוּפָה מָגֵן הוּא לְכֹל ׀ הַחֹסִים בּֽוֹ׃ hael tamim dareko imrat-Adonai tzerufah magen hu lekhol ׀ hachosim boAs for G-d, His way is perfect; the word of HaShem is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in Him. לב32 כִּי מִי אֱלוֹהַּ מִבַּלְעֲדֵי יְיָ וּמִי צוּר זוּלָתִי אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ ki mi eloha mibaleadei Adonai umi tzur zulati eloheinuFor who is G-d, save HaShem? And who is a Rock, except our G-d? לג33 הָאֵל הַמְאַזְּרֵנִי חָיִל וַיִּתֵּן תָּמִים דַּרְכִּֽי׃ hael hamazreni chayil vayiten tamim darekiThe G-d that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way straight; לד34 מְשַׁוֶּה רַגְלַי כָּאַיָּלוֹת וְעַל בָּמֹתַי יַעֲמִידֵֽנִי׃ meshaveh raglay kaayalot veal bamotay yaamideniWho maketh my feet like hinds', and setteth me upon my high places; לה35 מְלַמֵּד יָדַי לַמִּלְחָמָה וְֽנִחֲתָה קֶֽשֶׁת־נְחוּשָׁה זְרוֹעֹתָֽי׃ melamed yaday lamilechamah venichatah keshet-nechushah zerootayWho traineth my hands for war, so that mine arms do bend a bow of brass. לו36 וַתִּתֶּן־לִי מָגֵן יִשְׁעֶךָ וִֽימִינְךָ תִסְעָדֵנִי וְֽעַנְוַתְךָ תַרְבֵּֽנִי׃ vatiten-li magen yishekha viminkha tisadeni veanvatkha tarbeniThou hast also given me Thy shield of salvation, and Thy right hand hath holden me up; and Thy condescension hath made me great. לז37 תַּרְחִיב צַעֲדִי תַחְתָּי וְלֹא מָעֲדוּ קַרְסֻלָּֽי׃ tarechiv tzaadi tachtay velo maadu karsulayThou hast enlarged my steps under me, and my feet have not slipped. לח38 אֶרְדּוֹף אוֹיְבַי וְאַשִּׂיגֵם וְלֹֽא־אָשׁוּב עַד־כַּלּוֹתָֽם׃ erdof oyvay veasigem velo-ashuv ad-kalotamI have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them; neither did I turn back till they were consumed. לט39 אֶמְחָצֵם וְלֹא־יֻכְלוּ קוּם יִפְּלוּ תַּחַת רַגְלָֽי׃ emchatzem velo-yukhlu kum yiplu tachat raglayI have smitten them through, so that they are not able to rise; they are fallen under my feet. מ40 וַתְּאַזְּרֵנִי חַיִל לַמִּלְחָמָה תַּכְרִיעַ קָמַי תַּחְתָּֽי׃ vatazreni chayil lamilechamah takheriya kamay tachetayFor Thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle; Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. מא41 וְֽאֹיְבַי נָתַתָּה לִּי עֹרֶף וּמְשַׂנְאַי אַצְמִיתֵֽם׃ veoyvay natatah li oref umsanay atzmitemThou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me, and I did cut off them that hate me. מב42 יְשַׁוְּעוּ וְאֵין־מוֹשִׁיעַ עַל־יְיָ וְלֹא עָנָֽם׃ yeshavu veein-moshiya al-Adonai velo anamThey cried, but there was none to save; even unto HaShem, but He answered them not. מג43 וְֽאֶשְׁחָקֵם כְּעָפָר עַל־פְּנֵי־רוּחַ כְּטִיט חוּצוֹת אֲרִיקֵֽם׃ veeshchakem keafar al-penei-rucha ketit chutzot arikemThen did I beat them small as the dust before the wind; I did cast them out as the mire of the streets. מד44 תְּפַלְּטֵנִי מֵרִיבֵי עָם תְּשִׂימֵנִי לְרֹאשׁ גּוֹיִם עַם לֹא־יָדַעְתִּי יַֽעַבְדֽוּנִי׃ tefalteni merivei am tesimeni lerosh goyim am lo-yadati yaavduniThou hast delivered me from the contentions of the people; Thou hast made me the head of the nations; a people whom I have not known serve me. מה45 לְשֵׁמַֽע אֹזֶן יִשָּׁמְעוּ לִי בְּנֵֽי־נֵכָר יְכַחֲשׁוּ־לִֽי׃ leshema ozen yishameu li benei-nekhar yekhachashu-liAs soon as they hear of me, they obey me; the sons of the stranger dwindle away before me. מו46 בְּנֵי־נֵכָר יִבֹּלוּ וְיַחְרְגוּ מִֽמִּסְגְּרֽוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ benei-nekhar yibolu veyachrgu mimisegroteihemThe sons of the stranger fade away, and come trembling out of their close places. מז47 חַי־יְיָ וּבָרוּךְ צוּרִי וְיָרוּם אֱלוֹהֵי יִשְׁעִֽי׃ chay-Adonai uvarukh tzuri veyarum elohei yishiHaShem liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the G-d of my salvation; מח48 הָאֵל הַנּוֹתֵן נְקָמוֹת לִי וַיַּדְבֵּר עַמִּים תַּחְתָּֽי׃ hael hanoten nekamot li vayadeber amim tachetayEven the G-d that executeth vengeance for me, and subdueth peoples under me. מט49 מְפַלְּטִי מֵאֹיְבָי אַף מִן־קָמַי תְּרוֹמְמֵנִי מֵאִישׁ חָמָס תַּצִּילֵֽנִי׃ mefalti meoyvay af min-kamay terommeni meish chamas tatzileniHe delivereth me from mine enemies; yea, Thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man. נ50 עַל־כֵּן ׀ אוֹדְךָ בַגּוֹיִם ׀ יְיָ וּלְשִׁמְךָ אֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃ al-ken ׀ odkha vagoyim ׀ Adonai ulshimkha azamerahTherefore I will give thanks unto Thee, O HaShem, among the nations, and will sing praises unto Thy name. נא51 מגדל יְשׁוּעוֹת מַלְכּוֹ וְעֹשֶׂה חֶסֶד ׀ לִמְשִׁיחוֹ לְדָוִד וּלְזַרְעוֹ עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ mgdl yeshuot malko veoseh chesed ׀ limshicho ledavid ulzaro ad-olamGreat salvation giveth He to His king; and showeth mercy to His anointed, to David and to his seed, for evermore.

א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha mizmor ledavidFor the Leader. A Psalm of David. ב2 הַשָּׁמַיִם מְֽסַפְּרִים כְּבֽוֹד־אֵל וּֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו מַגִּיד הָרָקִֽיעַ׃ hashamayim mesaprim kevod-el umaaseh yadayv magid harakiyaThe heavens declare the glory of G-d, and the firmament showeth His handiwork; ג3 יוֹם לְיוֹם יַבִּיעַֽ אֹמֶר וְלַיְלָה לְּלַיְלָה יְחַוֶּה־דָּֽעַת׃ yom leyom yabiya omer velaylah lelaylah yechaveh-daatDay unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night revealeth knowledge; ד4 אֵֽין־אֹמֶר וְאֵין דְּבָרִים בְּלִי נִשְׁמָע קוֹלָֽם׃ ein-omer veein devarim beli nishma kolamThere is no speech, there are no words, neither is their voice heard. ה5 בְּכָל־הָאָרֶץ ׀ יָצָא קַוָּם וּבִקְצֵה תֵבֵל מִלֵּיהֶם לַשֶּׁמֶשׁ שָֽׂם־אֹהֶל בָּהֶֽם׃ bekhal-haaretz ׀ yatza kavam uviktzeh tevel mileihem lashemesh sam-ohel bahemTheir line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath He set a tent for the sun, ו6 וְהוּא כְּחָתָן יֹצֵא מֵחֻפָּתוֹ יָשִׂישׂ כְּגִבּוֹר לָרוּץ אֹֽרַח׃ vehu kechatan yotze mechupato yasis kegibor larutz orachWhich is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run his course. ז7 מִקְצֵה הַשָּׁמַיִם ׀ מֽוֹצָאוֹ וּתְקוּפָתוֹ עַל־קְצוֹתָם וְאֵין נִסְתָּר מֵֽחַמָּתוֹ׃ miktzeh hashamayim ׀ motzao utkufato al-ketzotam veein nistar mechamatoHis going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it; and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. ח8 תּוֹרַת יְיָ תְּמִימָה מְשִׁיבַת נָפֶשׁ עֵדוּת יְיָ נֶאֱמָנָה מַחְכִּימַת פֶּֽתִי׃ torat Adonai temimah meshivat nafesh edut Adonai neemanah machkimat petiThe law of HaShem is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of HaShem is sure, making wise the simple. ט9 פִּקּוּדֵי יְיָ יְשָׁרִים מְשַׂמְּחֵי־לֵב מִצְוַת יְיָ בָּרָה מְאִירַת עֵינָֽיִם׃ pikudei Adonai yesharim mesamchei-lev mitzvat Adonai barah meirat einayimThe precepts of HaShem are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of HaShem is pure, enlightening the eyes. י10 יִרְאַת יְיָ ׀ טְהוֹרָה עוֹמֶדֶת לָעַד מִֽשְׁפְּטֵי־יְיָ אֱמֶת צָֽדְקוּ יַחְדָּֽו׃ yirat Adonai ׀ tehorah omedet laad mishptei-Adonai emet tzadku yachdavThe fear of HaShem is clean, enduring for ever; the ordinances of HaShem are true, they are righteous altogether; יא11 הַֽנֶּחֱמָדִים מִזָּהָב וּמִפַּז רָב וּמְתוּקִים מִדְּבַשׁ וְנֹפֶת צוּפִֽים׃ hanechemadim mizahav umipaz rav umtukim midvash venofet tzufimMore to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. יב12 גַּֽם־עַבְדְּךָ נִזְהָר בָּהֶם בְּשָׁמְרָם עֵקֶב רָֽב׃ gam-avdkha nizhar bahem beshamram ekev ravMoreover by them is Thy servant warned; in keeping of them there is great reward. יג13 שְׁגִיאוֹת מִֽי־יָבִין מִֽנִּסְתָּרוֹת נַקֵּֽנִי׃ shegiyot mi-yavin minisetarot nakeniWho can discern his errors? Clear Thou me from hidden faults. יד14 גַּם מִזֵּדִים ׀ חֲשֹׂךְ עַבְדֶּךָ אַֽל־יִמְשְׁלוּ־בִי אָז אֵיתָם וְנִקֵּיתִי מִפֶּשַֽׁע רָֽב׃ gam mizedim ׀ chasokh avdekha al-yimshlu-vi az eitam venikeiti mipesha ravKeep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins, that they may not have dominion over me; then shall I be faultless, and I shall be clear from great transgression. טו15 יִֽהְיוּ לְרָצוֹן ׀ אִמְרֵי־פִי וְהֶגְיוֹן לִבִּי לְפָנֶיךָ יְיָ צוּרִי וְגֹאֲלִֽי׃ yihyu leratzon ׀ imrei-fi vehegyon libi lefaneikha Adonai tzuri vegoaliLet the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before Thee, O HaShem, my Rock, and my Redeemer.

A Psalm of David. ב2 יַֽעַנְךָ יְיָ בְּיוֹם צָרָה יְשַׂגֶּבְךָ שֵׁם ׀ אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹֽב׃ yaankha Adonai beyom tzarah yesagevekha shem ׀ Elohei yaakovHaShem answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the G-d of Jacob set thee up on high; ג3 יִשְׁלַֽח־עֶזְרְךָ מִקֹּדֶשׁ וּמִצִּיּוֹן יִסְעָדֶֽךָּ׃ yishlach-ezrkha mikodesh umitziyon yisadekaSend forth thy help from the sanctuary, and support thee out of Zion; ד4 יִזְכֹּר כָּל־מִנְחֹתֶךָ וְעוֹלָתְךָ יְדַשְּׁנֶה סֶֽלָה׃ yizkor kal-minchotekha veolatkha yedashneh selahReceive the memorial of all thy meal-offerings, and accept the fat of thy burnt-sacrifice; Selah ה5 יִֽתֶּן־לְךָ כִלְבָבֶךָ וְֽכָל־עֲצָתְךָ יְמַלֵּֽא׃ yiten-lekha khilvavekha vekhal-atzatkha yemaleGrant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. ו6 נְרַנְּנָה ׀ בִּישׁוּעָתֶךָ וּבְשֵֽׁם־אֱלֹהֵינוּ נִדְגֹּל יְמַלֵּא יְיָ כָּל־מִשְׁאֲלוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ nerannah ׀ bishuatekha uvshem-eloheinu nidgol yemale Adonai kal-mishaloteikhaWe will shout for joy in thy victory, and in the name of our G-d we will set up our standards; HaShem fulfil all thy petitions. ז7 עַתָּה יָדַעְתִּי כִּי הוֹשִׁיעַ ׀ יְיָ מְשִׁיחוֹ יַעֲנֵהוּ מִשְּׁמֵי קָדְשׁוֹ בִּגְבֻרוֹת יֵשַׁע יְמִינֽוֹ׃ atah yadati ki hoshiya ׀ Adonai meshicho yaanehu mishmei kadsho bigevurot yesha yeminoNow know I that HaShem saveth His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the mighty acts of His saving right hand. ח8 אֵלֶּה בָרֶכֶב וְאֵלֶּה בַסּוּסִים וַאֲנַחְנוּ ׀ בְּשֵׁם־יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ נַזְכִּֽיר׃ eleh varekhev veeleh vasusim vaanachnu ׀ beshem-Adonai eloheinu nazkirSome trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will make mention of the name of HaShem our G-d. ט9 הֵמָּה כָּרְעוּ וְנָפָלוּ וַאֲנַחְנוּ קַּמְנוּ וַנִּתְעוֹדָֽד׃ hemah kareu venafalu vaanachnu kamenu vaniteodadThey are bowed down and fallen; but we are risen, and stand upright. י10 יְיָ הוֹשִׁיעָה הַמֶּלֶךְ יַעֲנֵנוּ בְיוֹם־קָרְאֵֽנוּ׃ Adonai hoshiyah hamelekh yaanenu veyom-karenuSave, HaShem; let the King answer us in the day that we call.

A Psalm of David. ב2 יְֽהוָה בְּעָזְּךָ יִשְׂמַח־מֶלֶךְ וּבִישׁוּעָתְךָ מַה־יגיל מְאֹֽד׃ Adonai beazkha yismach-melekh uvishuatkha mah-ygyl meodO HaShem, in Thy strength the king rejoiceth; and in Thy salvation how greatly doth he exult! ג3 תַּאֲוַת לִבּוֹ נָתַתָּה לּוֹ וַאֲרֶשֶׁת שְׂפָתָיו בַּל־מָנַעְתָּ סֶּֽלָה׃ taavat libo natatah lo vaareshet sefatayv bal-manata selahThou hast given him his heart's desire, and the request of his lips Thou hast not withholden. Selah ד4 כִּֽי־תְקַדְּמֶנּוּ בִּרְכוֹת טוֹב תָּשִׁית לְרֹאשׁוֹ עֲטֶרֶת פָּֽז׃ ki-tekadmenu birekhot tov tashit lerosho ateret pazFor Thou meetest him with choicest blessings; Thou settest a crown of fine gold on his head. ה5 חַיִּים ׀ שָׁאַל מִמְּךָ נָתַתָּה לּוֹ אֹרֶךְ יָמִים עוֹלָם וָעֶֽד׃ chayim ׀ shaal mimkha natatah lo orekh yamim olam vaedHe asked life of Thee, Thou gavest it him; even length of days for ever and ever. ו6 גָּדוֹל כְּבוֹדוֹ בִּישׁוּעָתֶךָ הוֹד וְהָדָר תְּשַׁוֶּה עָלָֽיו׃ gadol kevodo bishuatekha hod vehadar teshaveh alayvHis glory is great through Thy salvation; honour and majesty dost Thou lay upon him. ז7 כִּֽי־תְשִׁיתֵהוּ בְרָכוֹת לָעַד תְּחַדֵּהוּ בְשִׂמְחָה אֶת־פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ ki-teshitehu verakhot laad techadehu vesimchah et-paneikhaFor Thou makest him most blessed for ever; Thou makest him glad with joy in Thy presence. ח8 כִּֽי־הַמֶּלֶךְ בֹּטֵחַ בַּיהוָה וּבְחֶסֶד עֶלְיוֹן בַּל־יִמּֽוֹט׃ ki-hamelekh botecha bayhvah uvchesed elyon bal-yimotFor the king trusteth in HaShem, yea, in the mercy of the Most High; he shall not be moved. ט9 תִּמְצָא יָדְךָ לְכָל־אֹיְבֶיךָ יְמִֽינְךָ תִּמְצָא שֹׂנְאֶֽיךָ׃ timetza yadkha lekhal-oyveikha yeminkha timetza soneikhaThy hand shall be equal to all thine enemies; thy right hand shall overtake those that hate thee. י10 תְּשִׁיתֵמוֹ ׀ כְּתַנּוּר אֵשׁ לְעֵת פָּנֶיךָ יְיָ בְּאַפּוֹ יְבַלְּעֵם וְֽתֹאכְלֵם אֵֽשׁ׃ teshitemo ׀ ketanur esh leet paneikha Adonai beapo yevalem vetokhlem eshThou shalt make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thine anger; HaShem shall swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire shall devour them. יא11 פִּרְיָמוֹ מֵאֶרֶץ תְּאַבֵּד וְזַרְעָם מִבְּנֵי אָדָֽם׃ pireyamo meeretz teabed vezaram mibnei adamTheir fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men. יב12 כִּי־נָטוּ עָלֶיךָ רָעָה חָֽשְׁבוּ מְזִמָּה בַּל־יוּכָֽלוּ׃ ki-natu aleikha raah chashvu mezimah bal-yukhaluFor they intended evil against thee, they imagined a device, wherewith they shall not prevail. יג13 כִּי תְּשִׁיתֵמוֹ שֶׁכֶם בְּמֵֽיתָרֶיךָ תְּכוֹנֵן עַל־פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ ki teshitemo shekhem bemeitareikha tekhonen al-peneihemFor thou shalt make them turn their back, thou shalt make ready with thy bowstrings against the face of them. יד14 רוּמָה יְיָ בְּעֻזֶּךָ נָשִׁירָה וּֽנְזַמְּרָה גְּבוּרָתֶֽךָ׃ rumah Adonai beuzekha nashirah unzamrah gevuratekhaBe Thou exalted, O HaShem, in Thy strength; so will we sing and praise Thy power.

A Psalm of David. ב2 אֵלִי אֵלִי לָמָה עֲזַבְתָּנִי רָחוֹק מִֽישׁוּעָתִי דִּבְרֵי שַׁאֲגָתִֽי׃ eli eli lamah azavtani rachok mishuati diverei shaagatiMy G-d, my G-d, why hast Thou forsaken me, and art far from my help at the words of my cry? ג3 אֱֽלֹהַי אֶקְרָא יוֹמָם וְלֹא תַעֲנֶה וְלַיְלָה וְֽלֹא־דֽוּמִיָּה לִֽי׃ elohay ekra yomam velo taaneh velaylah velo-dumiyah liO my G-d, I call by day, but Thou answerest not; and at night, and there is no surcease for me. ד4 וְאַתָּה קָדוֹשׁ יוֹשֵׁב תְּהִלּוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ veatah kadosh yoshev tehilot yisraelYet Thou art holy, O Thou that art enthroned upon the praises of Israel. ה5 בְּךָ בָּטְחוּ אֲבֹתֵינוּ בָּטְחוּ וַֽתְּפַלְּטֵֽמוֹ׃ bekha batechu avoteinu batechu vatfaltemoIn Thee did our fathers trust; they trusted, and Thou didst deliver them. ו6 אֵלֶיךָ זָעֲקוּ וְנִמְלָטוּ בְּךָ בָטְחוּ וְלֹא־בֽוֹשׁוּ׃ eleikha zaaku venimlatu bekha vatchu velo-voshuUnto Thee they cried, and escaped; in Thee did they trust, and were not ashamed. ז7 וְאָנֹכִי תוֹלַעַת וְלֹא־אִישׁ חֶרְפַּת אָדָם וּבְזוּי עָֽם׃ veanokhi tolaat velo-ish cherpat adam uvzuy amBut I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. ח8 כָּל־רֹאַי יַלְעִגוּ לִי יַפְטִירוּ בְשָׂפָה יָנִיעוּ רֹֽאשׁ׃ kal-roay yaligu li yaftiru vesafah yaniyu roshAll they that see me laugh me to scorn; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head: ט9 גֹּל אֶל־יְיָ יְפַלְּטֵהוּ יַצִּילֵהוּ כִּי חָפֵֽץ בּֽוֹ׃ gol el-Adonai yefaltehu yatzilehu ki chafetz bo'Let him commit himself unto HaShem! let Him rescue him; let Him deliver him, seeing He delighteth in him.' י10 כִּֽי־אַתָּה גֹחִי מִבָּטֶן מַבְטִיחִי עַל־שְׁדֵי אִמִּֽי׃ ki-atah gochi mibaten mavtichi al-shedei imiFor Thou art He that took me out of the womb; Thou madest me trust when I was upon my mother's breasts. יא11 עָלֶיךָ הָשְׁלַכְתִּי מֵרָחֶם מִבֶּטֶן אִמִּי אֵלִי אָֽתָּה׃ aleikha hashlakhti merachem mibeten imi eli atahUpon Thee I have been cast from my birth; Thou art my G-d from my mother's womb. יב12 אַל־תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי כִּי־צָרָה קְרוֹבָה כִּי־אֵין עוֹזֵֽר׃ al-tirechak mimeni ki-tzarah kerovah ki-ein ozerBe not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. יג13 סְבָבוּנִי פָּרִים רַבִּים אַבִּירֵי בָשָׁן כִּתְּרֽוּנִי׃ sevavuni parim rabim abirei vashan kiteruniMany bulls have encompassed me; strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. יד14 פָּצוּ עָלַי פִּיהֶם אַרְיֵה טֹרֵף וְשֹׁאֵֽג׃ patzu alay pihem aryeh toref veshoegThey open wide their mouth against me, as a ravening and a roaring lion. טו15 כַּמַּיִם נִשְׁפַּכְתִּי וְהִתְפָּֽרְדוּ כָּֽל־עַצְמוֹתָי הָיָה לִבִּי כַּדּוֹנָג נָמֵס בְּתוֹךְ מֵעָֽי׃ kamayim nishpakheti vehitparedu kal-atzmotay hayah libi kadonag names betokh meayI am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is become like wax; it is melted in mine inmost parts. טז16 יָבֵשׁ כַּחֶרֶשׂ ׀ כֹּחִי וּלְשׁוֹנִי מֻדְבָּק מַלְקוֹחָי וְֽלַעֲפַר־מָוֶת תִּשְׁפְּתֵֽנִי׃ yavesh kacheres ׀ kochi ulshoni mudbak malkochay velaafar-mavet tishepteniMy strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my throat; and Thou layest me in the dust of death. יז17 כִּי סְבָבוּנִי כְּלָבִים עֲדַת מְרֵעִים הִקִּיפוּנִי כָּאֲרִי יָדַי וְרַגְלָֽי׃ ki sevavuni kelavim adat mereim hikifuni kaari yaday veraglayFor dogs have encompassed me; a company of evil-doers have inclosed me; like a lion, they are at my hands and my feet. יח18 אֲסַפֵּר כָּל־עַצְמוֹתָי הֵמָּה יַבִּיטוּ יִרְאוּ־בִֽי׃ asaper kal-atzmotay hemah yabitu yiru-viI may count all my bones; they look and gloat over me. יט19 יְחַלְּקוּ בְגָדַי לָהֶם וְעַל־לְבוּשִׁי יַפִּילוּ גוֹרָֽל׃ yechalku vegaday lahem veal-levushi yapilu goralThey part my garments among them, and for my vesture do they cast lots. כ20 וְאַתָּה יְיָ אַל־תִּרְחָק אֱיָלוּתִי לְעֶזְרָתִי חֽוּשָׁה׃ veatah Adonai al-tirechak eyaluti leezrati chushahBut Thou, O HaShem, be not far off; O Thou my strength, hasten to help me. כא21 הַצִּילָה מֵחֶרֶב נַפְשִׁי מִיַּד־כֶּלֶב יְחִידָתִֽי׃ hatzilah mecherev nafshi miyad-kelev yechidatiDeliver my soul from the sword; mine only one from the power of the dog. כב22 הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי מִפִּי אַרְיֵה וּמִקַּרְנֵי רֵמִים עֲנִיתָֽנִי׃ hoshiyeni mipi aryeh umikarenei remim anitaniSave me from the lion's mouth; yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen do Thou answer me. כג23 אֲסַפְּרָה שִׁמְךָ לְאֶחָי בְּתוֹךְ קָהָל אֲהַלְלֶֽךָּ׃ asaprah shimkha leechay betokh kahal ahallekaI will declare Thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise Thee. כד24 יִרְאֵי יְיָ ׀ הַֽלְלוּהוּ כָּל־זֶרַע יַעֲקֹב כַּבְּדוּהוּ וְגוּרוּ מִמֶּנּוּ כָּל־זֶרַע יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ yirei Adonai ׀ halluhu kal-zera yaakov kabeduhu veguru mimenu kal-zera yisrael'Ye that fear HaShem, praise Him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and stand in awe of Him, all ye the seed of Israel. כה25 כִּי לֹֽא־בָזָה וְלֹא שִׁקַּץ עֱנוּת עָנִי וְלֹא־הִסְתִּיר פָּנָיו מִמֶּנּוּ וּֽבְשַׁוְּעוֹ אֵלָיו שָׁמֵֽעַ׃ ki lo-vazah velo shikatz enut ani velo-histir panayv mimenu uvshavo elayv shameaFor He hath not despised nor abhorred the lowliness of the poor; neither hath He hid His face from him; but when he cried unto Him, He heard.' כו26 מֵאִתְּךָ תְֽהִלָּתִי בְּקָהָל רָב נְדָרַי אֲשַׁלֵּם נֶגֶד יְרֵאָֽיו׃ meitkha tehilati bekahal rav nedaray ashalem neged yereayvFrom Thee cometh my praise in the great congregation; I will pay my vows before them that fear Him. כז27 יֹאכְלוּ עֲנָוִים ׀ וְיִשְׂבָּעוּ יְהַֽלְלוּ יְיָ דֹּרְשָׁיו יְחִי לְבַבְכֶם לָעַֽד׃ yokhlu anavim ׀ veyisbau yehallu Adonai doreshayv yechi levavkhem laadLet the humble eat and be satisfied; let them praise HaShem that seek after Him; may your heart be quickened for ever! כח28 יִזְכְּרוּ ׀ וְיָשֻׁבוּ אֶל־יְיָ כָּל־אַפְסֵי־אָרֶץ וְיִֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְפָנֶיךָ כָּֽל־מִשְׁפְּחוֹת גּוֹיִֽם׃ yizkru ׀ veyashuvu el-Adonai kal-afsei-aretz veyishtachavu lefaneikha kal-mishpchot goyimAll the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto HaShem; and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before Thee. כט29 כִּי לַיהוָה הַמְּלוּכָה וּמֹשֵׁל בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ ki layhvah hamlukhah umoshel bagoyimFor the kingdom is HaShem'S; and He is the ruler over the nations. ל30 אָכְלוּ וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּוּ ׀ כָּֽל־דִּשְׁנֵי־אֶרֶץ לְפָנָיו יִכְרְעוּ כָּל־יוֹרְדֵי עָפָר וְנַפְשׁוֹ לֹא חִיָּֽה׃ akhlu vayishetachauu ׀ kal-dishenei-eretz lefanayv yikhru kal-yordei afar venafsho lo chiyahAll the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship; all they that go down to the dust shall kneel before Him, even he that cannot keep his soul alive. לא31 זֶרַע יַֽעַבְדֶנּוּ יְסֻפַּר לַֽאדֹנָי לַדּֽוֹר׃ zera yaavdenu yesupar ladonay ladorA seed shall serve him; it shall be told of the L-rd unto the next generation. לב32 יָבֹאוּ וְיַגִּידוּ צִדְקָתוֹ לְעַם נוֹלָד כִּי עָשָֽׂה׃ yavou veyagidu tzidkato leam nolad ki asahThey shall come and shall declare His righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that He hath done it.

א1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְיָ רֹעִי לֹא אֶחְסָֽר׃ mizmor ledavid Adonai roi lo echsarA Psalm of David. HaShem is my shepherd; I shall not want. ב2 בִּנְאוֹת דֶּשֶׁא יַרְבִּיצֵנִי עַל־מֵי מְנֻחוֹת יְנַהֲלֵֽנִי׃ bineot deshe yarbitzeni al-mei menuchot yenahaleniHe maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. ג3 נַפְשִׁי יְשׁוֹבֵב יַֽנְחֵנִי בְמַעְגְּלֵי־צֶדֶק לְמַעַן שְׁמֽוֹ׃ nafshi yeshovev yancheni vemaglei-tzedek lemaan shemoHe restoreth my soul; He guideth me in straight paths for His name's sake. ד4 גַּם כִּֽי־אֵלֵךְ בְּגֵיא צַלְמָוֶת לֹא־אִירָא רָע כִּי־אַתָּה עִמָּדִי שִׁבְטְךָ וּמִשְׁעַנְתֶּךָ הֵמָּה יְנַֽחֲמֻֽנִי׃ gam ki-elekh begei tzalmavet lo-ira ra ki-atah imadi shivtkha umishantekha hemah yenachamuniYea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. ה5 תַּעֲרֹךְ לְפָנַי ׀ שֻׁלְחָן נֶגֶד צֹרְרָי דִּשַּׁנְתָּ בַשֶּׁמֶן רֹאשִׁי כּוֹסִי רְוָיָֽה׃ taarokh lefanay ׀ shulchan neged tzorray dishaneta vashemen roshi kosi revayahThou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over. ו6 אַךְ ׀ טוֹב וָחֶסֶד יִרְדְּפוּנִי כָּל־יְמֵי חַיָּי וְשַׁבְתִּי בְּבֵית־יְיָ לְאֹרֶךְ יָמִֽים׃ akh ׀ tov vachesed yirdfuni kal-yemei chayay veshavti beveit-Adonai leorekh yamimSurely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of HaShem for ever.

א1 לְדָוִד מִזְמוֹר לַֽיהוָה הָאָרֶץ וּמְלוֹאָהּ תֵּבֵל וְיֹשְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ ledavid mizmor layhvah haaretz umloah tevel veyoshvei vahA Psalm of David. The earth is HaShem'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. ב2 כִּי־הוּא עַל־יַמִּים יְסָדָהּ וְעַל־נְהָרוֹת יְכוֹנְנֶֽהָ׃ ki-hu al-yamim yesadah veal-neharot yekhonnehaFor He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. ג3 מִֽי־יַעֲלֶה בְהַר־יְיָ וּמִי־יָקוּם בִּמְקוֹם קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ mi-yaaleh vehar-Adonai umi-yakum bimekom kadshoWho shall ascend into the mountain of HaShem? and who shall stand in His holy place? ד4 נְקִי כַפַּיִם וּֽבַר־לֵבָב אֲשֶׁר ׀ לֹא־נָשָׂא לַשָּׁוְא נַפְשִׁי וְלֹא נִשְׁבַּע לְמִרְמָֽה׃ neki khapayim uvar-levav asher ׀ lo-nasa lashave nafshi velo nishba lemirmahHe that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not taken My name in vain, and hath not sworn deceitfully. ה5 יִשָּׂא בְרָכָה מֵאֵת יְיָ וּצְדָקָה מֵאֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֽוֹ׃ yisa verakhah meet Adonai utzdakah meelohei yishoHe shall receive a blessing from HaShem, and righteousness from the G-d of his salvation. ו6 זֶה דּוֹר דרשו מְבַקְשֵׁי פָנֶיךָ יַעֲקֹב סֶֽלָה׃ zeh dor drshv mevakshei faneikha yaakov selahSuch is the generation of them that seek after Him, that seek Thy face, even Jacob. Selah ז7 שְׂאוּ שְׁעָרִים ׀ רָֽאשֵׁיכֶם וְֽהִנָּשְׂאוּ פִּתְחֵי עוֹלָם וְיָבוֹא מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבֽוֹד׃ seu shearim ׀ rasheikhem vehinaseu pitechei olam veyavo melekh hakavodLift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; that the King of glory may come in. ח8 מִי זֶה מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד יְיָ עִזּוּז וְגִבּוֹר יְיָ גִּבּוֹר מִלְחָמָֽה׃ mi zeh melekh hakavod Adonai izuz vegibor Adonai gibor milchamah'Who is the King of glory?' Unto Thee, O HaShem, do I lift up my soul. ב2 אֱֽלֹהַי בְּךָ בָטַחְתִּי אַל־אֵבוֹשָׁה אַל־יַֽעַלְצוּ אֹיְבַי לִֽי׃ elohay bekha vatachti al-evoshah al-yaaltzu oyvay liO my G-d, in Thee have I trusted, let me not be ashamed; let not mine enemies triumph over me. ג3 גַּם כָּל־קֹוֶיךָ לֹא יֵבֹשׁוּ יֵבֹשׁוּ הַבּוֹגְדִים רֵיקָֽם׃ gam kal-koveikha lo yevoshu yevoshu habogdim reikamYea, none that wait for Thee shall be ashamed; they shall be ashamed that deal treacherously without cause. ד4 דְּרָכֶיךָ יְיָ הוֹדִיעֵנִי אֹרְחוֹתֶיךָ לַמְּדֵֽנִי׃ derakheikha Adonai hodiyeni orchoteikha lamdeniShow me Thy ways, O HaShem; teach me Thy paths. ה5 הַדְרִיכֵנִי בַאֲמִתֶּךָ ׀ וְֽלַמְּדֵנִי כִּֽי־אַתָּה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעִי אוֹתְךָ קִוִּיתִי כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃ hadrikheni vaamitekha ׀ velamdeni ki-atah Elohei yishi otkha kiviti kal-hayomGuide me in Thy truth, and teach me; for Thou art the G-d of my salvation; for Thee do I wait all the day. ו6 זְכֹר־רַחֲמֶיךָ יְיָ וַחֲסָדֶיךָ כִּי מֵעוֹלָם הֵֽמָּה׃ zekhor-rachameikha Adonai vachasadeikha ki meolam hemahRemember, O HaShem, Thy compassions and Thy mercies; for they have been from of old. ז7 חַטֹּאות נְעוּרַי ׀ וּפְשָׁעַי אַל־תִּזְכֹּר כְּחַסְדְּךָ זְכָר־לִי־אַתָּה לְמַעַן טוּבְךָ יְהוָֽה׃ chatovt neuray ׀ ufshaay al-tizekor kechasdkha zekhar-li-atah lemaan tuvkha AdonaiRemember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to Thy mercy remember Thou me, for Thy goodness' sake, O HaShem. ח8 טוֹב־וְיָשָׁר יְיָ עַל־כֵּן יוֹרֶה חַטָּאִים בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ tov-veyashar Adonai al-ken yoreh chataim badarekhGood and upright is HaShem; therefore doth He instruct sinners in the way. ט9 יַדְרֵךְ עֲנָוִים בַּמִּשְׁפָּט וִֽילַמֵּד עֲנָוִים דַּרְכּֽוֹ׃ yadrekh anavim bamishepat vilamed anavim darekoHe guideth The humble in justice; and He teacheth the humble His way. י10 כָּל־אָרְחוֹת יְיָ חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת לְנֹצְרֵי בְרִיתוֹ וְעֵדֹתָֽיו׃ kal-archot Adonai chesed veemet lenotzrei verito veedotayvAll the paths of HaShem are mercy and truth unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. יא11 לְמַֽעַן־שִׁמְךָ יְיָ וְֽסָלַחְתָּ לַעֲוֺנִי כִּי רַב־הֽוּא׃ lemaan-shimkha Adonai vesalachta laaoni ki rav-huFor Thy name's sake, O HaShem, pardon mine iniquity, for it is great. יב12 מִי־זֶה הָאִישׁ יְרֵא יְיָ יוֹרֶנּוּ בְּדֶרֶךְ יִבְחָֽר׃ mi-zeh haish yere Adonai yorenu bederekh yivcharWhat man is he that feareth HaShem? him will He instruct in the way that He should choose. יג13 נַפְשׁוֹ בְּטוֹב תָּלִין וְזַרְעוֹ יִירַשׁ אָֽרֶץ׃ nafsho betov talin vezaro yirash aretzHis soul shall abide in prosperity; and his seed shall inherit the land. יד14 סוֹד יְיָ לִירֵאָיו וּבְרִיתוֹ לְהוֹדִיעָֽם׃ sod Adonai lireayv uvrito lehodiyamThe counsel of HaShem is with them that fear Him; and His covenant, to make them know it. טו15 עֵינַי תָּמִיד אֶל־יְיָ כִּי הֽוּא־יוֹצִיא מֵרֶשֶׁת רַגְלָֽי׃ einay tamid el-Adonai ki hu-yotzi mereshet raglayMine eyes are ever toward HaShem; for He will bring forth my feet out of the net. טז16 פְּנֵה־אֵלַי וְחָנֵּנִי כִּֽי־יָחִיד וְעָנִי אָֽנִי׃ peneh-elay vechaneni ki-yachid veani aniTurn Thee unto me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted. יז17 צָרוֹת לְבָבִי הִרְחִיבוּ מִמְּצֽוּקוֹתַי הוֹצִיאֵֽנִי׃ tzarot levavi hirchivu mimtzukotay hotziyeniThe troubles of my heart are enlarged; O bring Thou me out of my distresses. יח18 רְאֵה עָנְיִי וַעֲמָלִי וְשָׂא לְכָל־חַטֹּאותָֽי׃ reeh anyi vaamali vesa lekhal-chatovtaySee mine affliction and my travail; and forgive all my sins. יט19 רְאֵֽה־אוֹיְבַי כִּי־רָבּוּ וְשִׂנְאַת חָמָס שְׂנֵאֽוּנִי׃ reeh-oyvay ki-rabu vesinat chamas seneuniConsider how many are mine enemies, and the cruel hatred wherewith they hate me. כ20 שָׁמְרָה נַפְשִׁי וְהַצִּילֵנִי אַל־אֵבוֹשׁ כִּֽי־חָסִיתִי בָֽךְ׃ shamrah nafshi vehatzileni al-evosh ki-chasiti vakhO keep my soul, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I have taken refuge in Thee. כא21 תֹּם־וָיֹשֶׁר יִצְּרוּנִי כִּי קִוִּיתִֽיךָ׃ tom-vayosher yitzruni ki kivitikhaLet integrity and uprightness preserve me, because I wait for Thee. כב22 פְּדֵה אֱלֹהִים אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל מִכֹּל צָֽרוֹתָיו׃ pedeh Elohim et-yisrael mikol tzarotayvRedeem Israel, O G-d, out of all his troubles.
פרק כ״וPsalm 26
א1 לְדָוִד ׀ שָׁפְטֵנִי יְיָ כִּֽי־אֲנִי בְּתֻמִּי הָלַכְתִּי וּבַיהוָה בָּטַחְתִּי לֹא אֶמְעָֽד׃ ledavid ׀ shafteni Adonai ki-ani betumi halakhti uvayhvah batachti lo emadA Psalm of David. Judge me, O HaShem, for I have walked in mine integrity, and I have trusted in HaShem without wavering. ב2 בְּחָנֵנִי יְיָ וְנַסֵּנִי צרופה כִלְיוֹתַי וְלִבִּֽי׃ bechaneni Adonai venaseni tzrvfh khilyotay velibiExamine me, O HaShem, and try me; test my reins and my heart. ג3 כִּֽי־חַסְדְּךָ לְנֶגֶד עֵינָי וְהִתְהַלַּכְתִּי בַּאֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ ki-chasdkha leneged einay vehithalakheti baamitekhaFor Thy mercy is before mine eyes; and I have walked in Thy truth. ד4 לֹא־יָשַׁבְתִּי עִם־מְתֵי־שָׁוְא וְעִם נַעֲלָמִים לֹא אָבֽוֹא׃ lo-yashavti im-metei-shav veim naalamim lo avoI have not sat with men of falsehood; neither will I go in with dissemblers. ה5 שָׂנֵאתִי קְהַל מְרֵעִים וְעִם־רְשָׁעִים לֹא אֵשֵֽׁב׃ saneti kehal mereim veim-reshaim lo eshevI hate the gathering of evil doers, and will not sit with the wicked. ו6 אֶרְחַץ בְּנִקָּיוֹן כַּפָּי וַאֲסֹבְבָה אֶת־מִזְבַּחֲךָ יְהוָֽה׃ erchatz benikayon kapay vaasovvah et-mizbachakha AdonaiI will wash my hands in innocency; so will I compass Thine altar, O HaShem, ז7 לַשְׁמִעַ בְּקוֹל תּוֹדָה וּלְסַפֵּר כָּל־נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ lashmia bekol todah ulsaper kal-nifloteikhaThat I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard, and tell of all Thy wondrous works. ח8 יְֽהוָה אָהַבְתִּי מְעוֹן בֵּיתֶךָ וּמְקוֹם מִשְׁכַּן כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ Adonai ahavti meon beitekha umkom mishkan kevodekhaHaShem, I love the habitation of Thy house, and the place where Thy glory dwelleth. ט9 אַל־תֶּאֱסֹף עִם־חַטָּאִים נַפְשִׁי וְעִם־אַנְשֵׁי דָמִים חַיָּֽי׃ al-teesof im-chataim nafshi veim-anshei damim chayayGather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with men of blood; י10 אֲשֶׁר־בִּידֵיהֶם זִמָּה וִֽימִינָם מָלְאָה שֹּֽׁחַד׃ asher-bideihem zimah viminam malah shochadIn whose hands is craftiness, and their right hand is full of bribes. יא11 וַאֲנִי בְּתֻמִּי אֵלֵךְ פְּדֵנִי וְחָנֵּֽנִי׃ vaani betumi elekh pedeni vechaneniBut as for me, I will walk in mine integrity; redeem me, and be gracious unto me. יב12 רַגְלִי עָֽמְדָה בְמִישׁוֹר בְּמַקְהֵלִים אֲבָרֵךְ יְהוָֽה׃ ragli amdah vemishor bemakhelim avarekh AdonaiMy foot standeth in an even place; in the congregations will I bless HaShem.
פרק כ״זPsalm 27
א1 לְדָוִד ׀ יְיָ ׀ אוֹרִי וְיִשְׁעִי מִמִּי אִירָא יְיָ מָֽעוֹז־חַיַּי מִמִּי אֶפְחָֽד׃ ledavid ׀ Adonai ׀ ori veyishi mimi ira Adonai maoz-chayay mimi efchadA Psalm of David. HaShem is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? HaShem is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ב2 בִּקְרֹב עָלַי ׀ מְרֵעִים לֶאֱכֹל אֶת־בְּשָׂרִי צָרַי וְאֹיְבַי לִי הֵמָּה כָשְׁלוּ וְנָפָֽלוּ׃ bikerov alay ׀ mereim leekhol et-besari tzaray veoyvay li hemah khashlu venafaluWhen evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, even mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. ג3 אִם־תַּחֲנֶה עָלַי ׀ מַחֲנֶה לֹֽא־יִירָא לִבִּי אִם־תָּקוּם עָלַי מִלְחָמָה בְּזֹאת אֲנִי בוֹטֵֽחַ׃ im-tachaneh alay ׀ machaneh lo-yira libi im-takum alay milchamah bezot ani votechaThough a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise up against me, even then will I be confident. ד4 אַחַת ׀ שָׁאַלְתִּי מֵֽאֵת־יְיָ אוֹתָהּ אֲבַקֵּשׁ שִׁבְתִּי בְּבֵית־יְיָ כָּל־יְמֵי חַיַּי לַחֲזוֹת בְּנֹֽעַם־יְיָ וּלְבַקֵּר בְּהֵיכָלֽוֹ׃ achat ׀ shaalti meet-Adonai otah avakesh shivti beveit-Adonai kal-yemei chayay lachazot benoam-Adonai ulvaker beheikhaloOne thing have I asked of HaShem, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of HaShem all the days of my life, to behold the graciousness of HaShem, and to visit early in His temple. ה5 כִּי יִצְפְּנֵנִי ׀ בְּסֻכֹּה בְּיוֹם רָעָה יַסְתִּרֵנִי בְּסֵתֶר אָהֳלוֹ בְּצוּר יְרוֹמְמֵֽנִי׃ ki yitzpneni ׀ besukoh beyom raah yastireni beseter aholo betzur yerommeniFor He concealeth me in His pavilion in the day of evil; He hideth me in the covert of His tent; He lifteth me up upon a rock. ו6 וְעַתָּה יָרוּם רֹאשִׁי עַל אֹֽיְבַי סְֽבִיבוֹתַי וְאֶזְבְּחָה בְאָהֳלוֹ זִבְחֵי תְרוּעָה אָשִׁירָה וַאֲזַמְּרָה לַיהוָֽה׃ veatah yarum roshi al oyvay sevivotay veezbchah veaholo zivchei teruah ashirah vaazamrah layhvahAnd now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in His tabernacle sacrifices with trumpet-sound; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto HaShem. ז7 שְׁמַע־יְיָ קוֹלִי אֶקְרָא וְחָנֵּנִי וַעֲנֵֽנִי׃ shema-Adonai koli ekra vechaneni vaaneniHear, O HaShem, when I call with my voice, and be gracious unto me, and answer me. ח8 לְךָ ׀ אָמַר לִבִּי בַּקְּשׁוּ פָנָי אֶת־פָּנֶיךָ יְיָ אֲבַקֵּֽשׁ׃ lekha ׀ amar libi bakeshu fanay et-paneikha Adonai avakeshIn Thy behalf my heart hath said: 'Seek ye My face'; Thy face, HaShem, will I seek. ט9 אַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ ׀ מִמֶּנִּי אַֽל־תַּט־בְּאַף עַבְדֶּךָ עֶזְרָתִי הָיִיתָ אַֽל־תִּטְּשֵׁנִי וְאַל־תַּֽעַזְבֵנִי אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעִֽי׃ al-taseter paneikha ׀ mimeni al-tat-beaf avdekha ezrati hayita al-titesheni veal-taazveni Elohei yishiHide not Thy face far from me; put not Thy servant away in anger; Thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O G-d of my salvation. י10 כִּי־אָבִי וְאִמִּי עֲזָבוּנִי וַֽיהוָה יַֽאַסְפֵֽנִי׃ ki-avi veimi azavuni vayhvah yaasfeniFor though my father and my mother have forsaken me, HaShem will take me up. יא11 הוֹרֵנִי יְיָ דַּרְכֶּךָ וּנְחֵנִי בְּאֹרַח מִישׁוֹר לְמַעַן שׁוֹרְרָֽי׃ horeni Adonai darekekha uncheni beorach mishor lemaan shorrayTeach me Thy way, O HaShem; and lead me in an even path, because of them that lie in wait for me. יב12 אַֽל־תִּתְּנֵנִי בְּנֶפֶשׁ צָרָי כִּי קָֽמוּ־בִי עֵֽדֵי־שֶׁקֶר וִיפֵחַ חָמָֽס׃ al-titeneni benefesh tzaray ki kamu-vi edei-sheker vifecha chamasDeliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out violence. יג13 לׅׄוּלֵׅׄאׅׄ הֶאֱמַנְתִּי לִרְאוֹת בְּֽטוּב־יְיָ בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּֽים׃ lule heemanti lirot betuv-Adonai beeretz chayimIf I had not believed to look upon the goodness of HaShem in the land of the living!-- יד14 קַוֵּה אֶל־יְיָ חֲזַק וְיַאֲמֵץ לִבֶּךָ וְקַוֵּה אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃ kaveh el-Adonai chazak veyaametz libekha vekaveh el-AdonaiWait on HaShem; be strong, and let thy heart take courage; yea, wait thou for HaShem.
פרק כ״חPsalm 28
א1 לְדָוִד אֵלֶיךָ יְיָ ׀ אֶקְרָא צוּרִי אַֽל־תֶּחֱרַשׁ מִמֶּנִּי פֶּן־תֶּֽחֱשֶׁה מִמֶּנִּי וְנִמְשַׁלְתִּי עִם־יוֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃ ledavid eleikha Adonai ׀ ekra tzuri al-techerash mimeni pen-techesheh mimeni venimshalti im-yordei vorA Psalm of David. Unto thee, O HaShem, do I call; my Rock, be not Thou deaf unto me; lest, if Thou be silent unto me, I become like them that go down into the pit. ב2 שְׁמַע קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנַי בְּשַׁוְּעִי אֵלֶיךָ בְּנָשְׂאִי יָדַי אֶל־דְּבִיר קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃ shema kol tachanunay beshavi eleikha benasi yaday el-devir kadshekhaHear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto Thee, when I lift up my hands toward Thy holy Sanctuary. ג3 אַל־תִּמְשְׁכֵנִי עִם־רְשָׁעִים וְעִם־פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן דֹּבְרֵי שָׁלוֹם עִם־רֵֽעֵיהֶם וְרָעָה בִּלְבָבָֽם׃ al-timeshkheni im-reshaim veim-poalei aven doverei shalom im-reeihem veraah bilevavamDraw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity; who speak peace with their neighbours, but evil is in their hearts. ד4 תֶּן־לָהֶם כְּפָעֳלָם וּכְרֹעַ מַֽעַלְלֵיהֶם כְּמַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵיהֶם תֵּן לָהֶם הָשֵׁב גְּמוּלָם לָהֶֽם׃ ten-lahem kefaolam ukhroa maalleihem kemaaseh yedeihem ten lahem hashev gemulam lahemGive them according to their deeds, and according to the evil of their endeavours; give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. ה5 כִּי לֹא יָבִינוּ אֶל־פְּעֻלֹּת יְיָ וְאֶל־מַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו יֶהֶרְסֵם וְלֹא יִבְנֵֽם׃ ki lo yavinu el-peulot Adonai veel-maaseh yadayv yehersem velo yivnemBecause they give no heed to the works of HaShem, nor to the operation of His hands; He will break them down and not build them up. ו6 בָּרוּךְ יְיָ כִּי־שָׁמַע קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃ barukh Adonai ki-shama kol tachanunayBlessed be HaShem, because He hath heard the voice of my supplications. ז7 יְיָ ׀ עֻזִּי וּמָגִנִּי בּוֹ בָטַח לִבִּי וְֽנֶעֱזָרְתִּי וַיַּעֲלֹז לִבִּי וּֽמִשִּׁירִי אֲהוֹדֶֽנּוּ׃ Adonai ׀ uzi umagini bo vatach libi veneezarti vayaaloz libi umishiri ahodenuHaShem is my strength and my shield, in Him hath my heart trusted, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth, and with my song will I praise Him. ח8 יְיָ עֹֽז־לָמוֹ וּמָעוֹז יְשׁוּעוֹת מְשִׁיחוֹ הֽוּא׃ Adonai oz-lamo umaoz yeshuot meshicho huHaShem is a strength unto them; and He is a stronghold of salvation to His anointed. ט9 הוֹשִׁיעָה ׀ אֶת־עַמֶּךָ וּבָרֵךְ אֶת־נַחֲלָתֶךָ וּֽרְעֵם וְנַשְּׂאֵם עַד־הָעוֹלָֽם׃ hoshiyah ׀ et-amekha uvarekh et-nachalatekha urem venasem ad-haolamSave Thy people, and bless Thine inheritance; and tend them, and carry them for ever.
פרק כ״טPsalm 29
א1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד הָבוּ לַֽיהוָה בְּנֵי אֵלִים הָבוּ לַיהוָה כָּבוֹד וָעֹֽז׃ mizmor ledavid havu layhvah benei elim havu layhvah kavod vaozA Psalm of David. Ascribe unto HaShem, O ye sons of might, ascribe unto HaShem glory and strength. ב2 הָבוּ לַֽיהוָה כְּבוֹד שְׁמוֹ הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַיהוָה בְּהַדְרַת־קֹֽדֶשׁ׃ havu layhvah kevod shemo hishtachavu layhvah behadrat-kodeshAscribe unto HaShem the glory due unto His name; worship HaShem in the beauty of holiness. ג3 קוֹל יְיָ עַל־הַמָּיִם אֵֽל־הַכָּבוֹד הִרְעִים יְיָ עַל־מַיִם רַבִּֽים׃ kol Adonai al-hamayim el-hakavod hirim Adonai al-mayim rabimThe voice of HaShem is upon the waters; the G-d of glory thundereth, even HaShem upon many waters. ד4 קוֹל־יְיָ בַּכֹּחַ קוֹל יְיָ בֶּהָדָֽר׃ kol-Adonai bakocha kol Adonai behadarThe voice of HaShem is powerful; the voice of HaShem is full of majesty. ה5 קוֹל יְיָ שֹׁבֵר אֲרָזִים וַיְשַׁבֵּר יְיָ אֶת־אַרְזֵי הַלְּבָנֽוֹן׃ kol Adonai shover arazim vayshaber Adonai et-arzei halvanonThe voice of HaShem breaketh the cedars; yea, HaShem breaketh in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. ו6 וַיַּרְקִידֵם כְּמוֹ־עֵגֶל לְבָנוֹן וְשִׂרְיֹן כְּמוֹ בֶן־רְאֵמִֽים׃ vayarekidem kemo-egel levanon vesiryon kemo ven-reemimHe maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox. ז7 קוֹל־יְיָ חֹצֵב לַהֲבוֹת אֵֽשׁ׃ kol-Adonai chotzev lahavot eshThe voice of HaShem heweth out flames of fire. ח8 קוֹל יְיָ יָחִיל מִדְבָּר יָחִיל יְיָ מִדְבַּר קָדֵֽשׁ׃ kol Adonai yachil midbar yachil Adonai midbar kadeshThe voice of HaShem shaketh the wilderness; HaShem shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. ט9 קוֹל יְיָ ׀ יְחוֹלֵל אַיָּלוֹת וַֽיֶּחֱשֹׂף יְעָרוֹת וּבְהֵיכָלוֹ כֻּלּוֹ אֹמֵר כָּבֽוֹד׃ kol Adonai ׀ yecholel ayalot vayechesof yearot uvheikhalo kulo omer kavodThe voice of HaShem maketh the hinds to calve, and strippeth the forests bare; and in His temple all say: 'Glory.' י10 יְיָ לַמַּבּוּל יָשָׁב וַיֵּשֶׁב יְיָ מֶלֶךְ לְעוֹלָֽם׃ Adonai lamabul yashav vayeshev Adonai melekh leolamHaShem sat enthroned at the flood; yea, HaShem sitteth as King for ever. יא11 יְֽהוָה עֹז לְעַמּוֹ יִתֵּן יְיָ ׀ יְבָרֵךְ אֶת־עַמּוֹ בַשָּׁלֽוֹם׃ Adonai oz leamo yiten Adonai ׀ yevarekh et-amo vashalomHaShem will give strength unto His people; HaShem will bless his people with peace.
