א1 תְּפִלָּה לְמֹשֶׁה אִֽישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִים אֲֽדֹנָי מָעוֹן אַתָּה הָיִיתָ לָּנוּ בְּדֹר וָדֹֽר׃ tefilah lemosheh ish-haelohim adonay maon atah hayita lanu bedor vadorA Prayer of Moses the man of G-d. L-rd, Thou hast been our dwelling-place in all generations. ב2 בְּטֶרֶם ׀ הָרִים יֻלָּדוּ וַתְּחוֹלֵֽל אֶרֶץ וְתֵבֵל וּֽמֵעוֹלָם עַד־עוֹלָם אַתָּה אֵֽל׃ beterem ׀ harim yuladu vatcholel eretz vetevel umeolam ad-olam atah elBefore the mountains were brought forth, or ever Thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art G-d. ג3 תָּשֵׁב אֱנוֹשׁ עַד־דַּכָּא וַתֹּאמֶר שׁוּבוּ בְנֵי־אָדָֽם׃ tashev enosh ad-daka vatomer shuvu venei-adamThou turnest man to contrition; and sayest: 'Return, ye children of men.' ד4 כִּי אֶלֶף שָׁנִים בְּֽעֵינֶיךָ כְּיוֹם אֶתְמוֹל כִּי יַעֲבֹר וְאַשְׁמוּרָה בַלָּֽיְלָה׃ ki elef shanim beeineikha keyom etmol ki yaavor veashmurah valayelahFor a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. ה5 זְרַמְתָּם שֵׁנָה יִהְיוּ בַּבֹּקֶר כֶּחָצִיר יַחֲלֹֽף׃ zeramtam shenah yihyu baboker kechatzir yachalofThou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. ו6 בַּבֹּקֶר יָצִיץ וְחָלָף לָעֶרֶב יְמוֹלֵל וְיָבֵֽשׁ׃ baboker yatzitz vechalaf laerev yemolel veyaveshIn the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. ז7 כִּֽי־כָלִינוּ בְאַפֶּךָ וּֽבַחֲמָתְךָ נִבְהָֽלְנוּ׃ ki-khalinu veapekha uvachamatkha nivhalnuFor we are consumed in Thine anger, and by Thy wrath are we hurried away. ח8 שת עֲוֺנֹתֵינוּ לְנֶגְדֶּךָ עֲלֻמֵנוּ לִמְאוֹר פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ sht aonoteinu lenegdekha alumenu limor paneikhaThou hast set our iniquities before Thee, our secret sins in the light of Thy countenance. ט9 כִּי כָל־יָמֵינוּ פָּנוּ בְעֶבְרָתֶךָ כִּלִּינוּ שָׁנֵינוּ כְמוֹ־הֶֽגֶה׃ ki khal-yameinu panu veevratekha kilinu shaneinu khemo-hegehFor all our days are passed away in Thy wrath; we bring our years to an end as a tale that is told. י10 יְמֵֽי־שְׁנוֹתֵינוּ בָהֶם שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה וְאִם בִּגְבוּרֹת ׀ שְׁמוֹנִים שָׁנָה וְרָהְבָּם עָמָל וָאָוֶן כִּי־גָז חִישׁ וַנָּעֻֽפָה׃ yemei-shenoteinu vahem shivim shanah veim bigevurot ׀ shemonim shanah verahbam amal vaaven ki-gaz chish vanaufahThe days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years; yet is their pride but travail and vanity; for it is speedily gone, and we fly away. יא11 מִֽי־יוֹדֵעַ עֹז אַפֶּךָ וּכְיִרְאָתְךָ עֶבְרָתֶֽךָ׃ mi-yodea oz apekha ukhyiratkha evratekhaWho knoweth the power of Thine anger, and Thy wrath according to the fear that is due unto Thee? יב12 לִמְנוֹת יָמֵינוּ כֵּן הוֹדַע וְנָבִא לְבַב חָכְמָֽה׃ limnot yameinu ken hoda venavi levav chakhmahSo teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom. יג13 שׁוּבָה יְיָ עַד־מָתָי וְהִנָּחֵם עַל־עֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃ shuvah Adonai ad-matay vehinachem al-avadeikhaReturn, O HaShem; how long? And let it repent Thee concerning Thy servants. יד14 שַׂבְּעֵנוּ בַבֹּקֶר חַסְדֶּךָ וּֽנְרַנְּנָה וְנִשְׂמְחָה בְּכָל־יָמֵֽינוּ׃ sabenu vaboker chasdekha unrannah venismchah bekhal-yameinuO satisfy us in the morning with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. טו15 שַׂמְּחֵנוּ כִּימוֹת עִנִּיתָנוּ שְׁנוֹת רָאִינוּ רָעָֽה׃ samchenu kimot initanu shenot rainu raahMake us glad according to the days wherein Thou hast afflicted us, according to the years wherein we have seen evil. טז16 יֵרָאֶה אֶל־עֲבָדֶיךָ פָעֳלֶךָ וַהֲדָרְךָ עַל־בְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ yeraeh el-avadeikha faolekha vahadarkha al-beneihemLet Thy work appear unto Thy servants, and Thy glory upon their children. יז17 וִיהִי ׀ נֹעַם אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהֵינוּ עָלֵינוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנָה עָלֵינוּ וּֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנֵֽהוּ׃ vihi ׀ noam Adonai eloheinu aleinu umaaseh yadeinu konnah aleinu umaaseh yadeinu konnehuAnd let the graciousness of the L-rd our G-d be upon us; establish Thou also upon us the work of our hands; yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it.

א1 יֹשֵׁב בְּסֵתֶר עֶלְיוֹן בְּצֵל שַׁדַּי יִתְלוֹנָֽן׃ yoshev beseter elyon betzel shaday yitlonanO thou that dwellest in the covert of the Most High, and abidest in the shadow of the Almighty; ב2 אֹמַר לַֽיהוָה מַחְסִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אֱלֹהַי אֶבְטַח־בּֽוֹ׃ omar layhvah machsi umtzudati elohay evtach-boI will say of HaShem, who is my refuge and my fortress, my G-d, in whom I trust, ג3 כִּי הוּא יַצִּֽילְךָ מִפַּח יָקוּשׁ מִדֶּבֶר הַוּֽוֹת׃ ki hu yatzilkha mipach yakush midever hauotThat He will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. ד4 בְּאֶבְרָתוֹ ׀ יָסֶךְ לָךְ וְתַֽחַת־כְּנָפָיו תֶּחְסֶה צִנָּה וְֽסֹחֵרָה אֲמִתּֽוֹ׃ beevrato ׀ yasekh lakh vetachat-kenafayv techeseh tzinah vesocherah amitoHe will cover thee with His pinions, and under His wings shalt thou take refuge; His truth is a shield and a buckler. ה5 לֹא־תִירָא מִפַּחַד לָיְלָה מֵחֵץ יָעוּף יוֹמָֽם׃ lo-tira mipachad laylah mechetz yauf yomamThou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flieth by day; ו6 מִדֶּבֶר בָּאֹפֶל יַהֲלֹךְ מִקֶּטֶב יָשׁוּד צָהֳרָֽיִם׃ midever baofel yahalokh miketev yashud tzahorayimOf the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor of the destruction that wasteth at noonday. ז7 יִפֹּל מִצִּדְּךָ ׀ אֶלֶף וּרְבָבָה מִימִינֶךָ אֵלֶיךָ לֹא יִגָּֽשׁ׃ yipol mitzidekha ׀ elef urvavah miminekha eleikha lo yigashA thousand may fall at Thy side, and ten thousand at Thy right hand; it shall not come nigh thee. ח8 רַק בְּעֵינֶיךָ תַבִּיט וְשִׁלֻּמַת רְשָׁעִים תִּרְאֶֽה׃ rak beeineikha tabit veshilumat reshaim tireehOnly with thine eyes shalt thou behold, and see the recompense of the wicked. ט9 כִּֽי־אַתָּה יְיָ מַחְסִי עֶלְיוֹן שַׂמְתָּ מְעוֹנֶֽךָ׃ ki-atah Adonai machsi elyon samta meonekhaFor thou hast made HaShem who is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation. י10 לֹֽא־תְאֻנֶּה אֵלֶיךָ רָעָה וְנֶגַע לֹא־יִקְרַב בְּאָהֳלֶֽךָ׃ lo-teuneh eleikha raah venega lo-yikrav beaholekhaThere shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent. יא11 כִּי מַלְאָכָיו יְצַוֶּה־לָּךְ לִשְׁמָרְךָ בְּכָל־דְּרָכֶֽיךָ׃ ki malakhayv yetzaveh-lakhe lishmarkha bekhal-derakheikhaFor He will give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. יב12 עַל־כַּפַּיִם יִשָּׂאוּנְךָ פֶּן־תִּגֹּף בָּאֶבֶן רַגְלֶֽךָ׃ al-kapayim yisaunkha pen-tigof baeven raglekhaThey shall bear thee upon their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. יג13 עַל־שַׁחַל וָפֶתֶן תִּדְרֹךְ תִּרְמֹס כְּפִיר וְתַנִּֽין׃ al-shachal vafeten tiderokh tiremos kefir vetaninThou shalt tread upon the lion and asp; the young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under feet. יד14 כִּי בִי חָשַׁק וַאֲפַלְּטֵהוּ אֲשַׂגְּבֵהוּ כִּֽי־יָדַע שְׁמִֽי׃ ki vi chashak vaafaltehu asagvehu ki-yada shemi'Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. טו15 יִקְרָאֵנִי ׀ וְֽאֶעֱנֵהוּ עִמּֽוֹ־אָנֹכִי בְצָרָה אֲחַלְּצֵהוּ וַֽאֲכַבְּדֵֽהוּ׃ yikraeni ׀ veenehu imo-anokhi vetzarah achaltzehu vaakhabdehuHe shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and bring him to honour. טז16 אֹרֶךְ יָמִים אַשְׂבִּיעֵהוּ וְאַרְאֵהוּ בִּֽישׁוּעָתִֽי׃ orekh yamim asbiyehu vearehu bishuatiWith long life will I satisfy him, and make Him to behold My salvation.'

א1 מִזְמוֹר שִׁיר לְיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ mizmor shir leyom hashabatA Psalm, a Song. For the sabbath day. ב2 טוֹב לְהֹדוֹת לַיהוָה וּלְזַמֵּר לְשִׁמְךָ עֶלְיֽוֹן׃ tov lehodot layhvah ulzamer leshimkha elyonIt is a good thing to give thanks unto HaShem, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High; ג3 לְהַגִּיד בַּבֹּקֶר חַסְֽדֶּךָ וֶאֱמֽוּנָתְךָ בַּלֵּילֽוֹת׃ lehagid baboker chasdekha veemunatkha baleilotTo declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness in the night seasons, ד4 עֲֽלֵי־עָשׂוֹר וַעֲלֵי־נָבֶל עֲלֵי הִגָּיוֹן בְּכִנּֽוֹר׃ alei-asor vaalei-navel alei higayon bekhinorWith an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; with a solemn sound upon the harp. ה5 כִּי שִׂמַּחְתַּנִי יְיָ בְּפָעֳלֶךָ בְּֽמַעֲשֵׂי יָדֶיךָ אֲרַנֵּֽן׃ ki simachetani Adonai befaolekha bemaasei yadeikha aranenFor Thou, HaShem, hast made me glad through Thy work; I will exult in the works of Thy hands. ו6 מַה־גָּדְלוּ מַעֲשֶׂיךָ יְיָ מְאֹד עָמְקוּ מַחְשְׁבֹתֶֽיךָ׃ mah-gadelu maaseikha Adonai meod amku machshvoteikhaHow great are Thy works, O HaShem! Thy thoughts are very deep. ז7 אִֽישׁ־בַּעַר לֹא יֵדָע וּכְסִיל לֹא־יָבִין אֶת־זֹֽאת׃ ish-baar lo yeda ukhsil lo-yavin et-zotA brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand this. ח8 בִּפְרֹחַ רְשָׁעִים ׀ כְּמוֹ עֵשֶׂב וַיָּצִיצוּ כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן לְהִשָּֽׁמְדָם עֲדֵי־עַֽד׃ biferocha reshaim ׀ kemo esev vayatzitzu kal-poalei aven lehishamedam adei-adWhen the wicked spring up as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they may be destroyed for ever. ט9 וְאַתָּה מָרוֹם לְעֹלָם יְהוָֽה׃ veatah marom leolam AdonaiBut Thou, O HaShem, art on high for evermore. י10 כִּי הִנֵּה אֹיְבֶיךָ ׀ יְֽהוָה כִּֽי־הִנֵּה אֹיְבֶיךָ יֹאבֵדוּ יִתְפָּרְדוּ כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ ki hineh oyveikha ׀ Adonai ki-hineh oyveikha yovedu yitparedu kal-poalei avenFor, lo, Thine enemies, O HaShem, for, lo, Thine enemies shall perish: all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. יא11 וַתָּרֶם כִּרְאֵים קַרְנִי בַּלֹּתִי בְּשֶׁמֶן רַעֲנָֽן׃ vatarem kireeim karni baloti beshemen raananBut my horn hast Thou exalted like the horn of the wild-ox; I am anointed with rich oil. יב12 וַתַּבֵּט עֵינִי בְּשׁוּרָי בַּקָּמִים עָלַי מְרֵעִים תִּשְׁמַעְנָה אָזְנָֽי׃ vatabet eini beshuray bakamim alay mereim tishemanah aznayMine eye also hath gazed on them that lie in wait for me, mine ears have heard my desire of the evil-doers that rise up against me. יג13 צַדִּיק כַּתָּמָר יִפְרָח כְּאֶרֶז בַּלְּבָנוֹן יִשְׂגֶּֽה׃ tzadik katamar yifrach keerez balevanon yisgehThe righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. יד14 שְׁתוּלִים בְּבֵית יְיָ בְּחַצְרוֹת אֱלֹהֵינוּ יַפְרִֽיחוּ׃ shetulim beveit Adonai bechatzrot eloheinu yafrichuPlanted in the house of HaShem, they shall flourish in the courts of our G-d. טו15 עוֹד יְנוּבוּן בְּשֵׂיבָה דְּשֵׁנִים וְרַֽעֲנַנִּים יִהְיֽוּ׃ od yenuvun beseivah deshenim veraananim yihyuThey shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and richness; טז16 לְהַגִּיד כִּֽי־יָשָׁר יְיָ צוּרִי וְֽלֹא־עלתה בּֽוֹ׃ lehagid ki-yashar Adonai tzuri velo-lth boTo declare that HaShem is upright, my Rock, in whom there is no unrighteousness.

א1 יְיָ מָלָךְ גֵּאוּת לָבֵשׁ לָבֵשׁ יְיָ עֹז הִתְאַזָּר אַף־תִּכּוֹן תֵּבֵל בַּל־תִּמּֽוֹט׃ Adonai malakh geut lavesh lavesh Adonai oz hitazar af-tikon tevel bal-timotHaShem reigneth; He is clothed in majesty; HaShem is clothed, He hath girded Himself with strength; yea, the world is established, that it cannot be moved. ב2 נָכוֹן כִּסְאֲךָ מֵאָז מֵֽעוֹלָם אָֽתָּה׃ nakhon kiseakha meaz meolam atahThy throne is established of old; Thou art from everlasting. ג3 נָשְׂאוּ נְהָרוֹת ׀ יְֽהוָה נָשְׂאוּ נְהָרוֹת קוֹלָם יִשְׂאוּ נְהָרוֹת דָּכְיָֽם׃ nasu neharot ׀ Adonai nasu neharot kolam yisu neharot dakheyamThe floods have lifted up, O HaShem, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. ד4 מִקֹּלוֹת ׀ מַיִם רַבִּים אַדִּירִים מִשְׁבְּרֵי־יָם אַדִּיר בַּמָּרוֹם יְהוָֽה׃ mikolot ׀ mayim rabim adirim mishbrei-yam adir bamarom AdonaiAbove the voices of many waters, the mighty breakers of the sea, HaShem on high is mighty. ה5 עֵֽדֹתֶיךָ ׀ נֶאֶמְנוּ מְאֹד לְבֵיתְךָ נַאֲוָה־קֹדֶשׁ יְיָ לְאֹרֶךְ יָמִֽים׃ edoteikha ׀ neemnu meod leveitkha naavah-kodesh Adonai leorekh yamimThy testimonies are very sure, holiness becometh Thy house, O HaShem, for evermore.

א1 אֵל־נְקָמוֹת יְיָ אֵל נְקָמוֹת הוֹפִֽיַע׃ el-nekamot Adonai el nekamot hofiyaO HaShem, Thou G-d to whom vengeance belongeth, Thou G-d to whom vengeance belongeth, shine forth. ב2 הִנָּשֵׂא שֹׁפֵט הָאָרֶץ הָשֵׁב גְּמוּל עַל־גֵּאִֽים׃ hinase shofet haaretz hashev gemul al-geimLift up Thyself, Thou Judge of the earth; render to the proud their recompense. ג3 עַד־מָתַי רְשָׁעִים ׀ יְיָ עַד־מָתַי רְשָׁעִים יַעֲלֹֽזוּ׃ ad-matay reshaim ׀ Adonai ad-matay reshaim yaalozuHaShem, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult? ד4 יַבִּיעוּ יְדַבְּרוּ עָתָק יִֽתְאַמְּרוּ כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ yabiyu yedabru atak yitamru kal-poalei avenThey gush out, they speak arrogancy; all the workers of iniquity bear themselves loftily. ה5 עַמְּךָ יְיָ יְדַכְּאוּ וְֽנַחֲלָתְךָ יְעַנּֽוּ׃ amkha Adonai yedaku venachalatkha yeanuThey crush Thy people, O HaShem, and afflict Thy heritage. ו6 אַלְמָנָה וְגֵר יַהֲרֹגוּ וִֽיתוֹמִים יְרַצֵּֽחוּ׃ almanah veger yaharogu vitomim yeratzechuThey slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. ז7 וַיֹּאמְרוּ לֹא יִרְאֶה־יָּהּ וְלֹא־יָבִין אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹֽב׃ vayomru lo yireh-yah velo-yavin Elohei yaakovAnd they say: 'The HaShem will not see, neither will the G-d of Jacob give heed.' ח8 בִּינוּ בֹּעֲרִים בָּעָם וּכְסִילִים מָתַי תַּשְׂכִּֽילוּ׃ binu boarim baam ukhsilim matay tasekiluConsider, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye understand? ט9 הֲנֹטַֽע אֹזֶן הֲלֹא יִשְׁמָע אִֽם־יֹצֵֽר עַיִן הֲלֹא יַבִּֽיט׃ hanota ozen halo yishma im-yotzer ayin halo yabitHe that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eye, shall He not see? י10 הֲיֹסֵר גּוֹיִם הֲלֹא יוֹכִיחַ הַֽמְלַמֵּד אָדָם דָּֽעַת׃ hayoser goyim halo yokhicha hamlamed adam daatHe that instructeth nations, shall not He correct? even He that teacheth man knowledge? יא11 יְֽהוָה יֹדֵעַ מַחְשְׁבוֹת אָדָם כִּי־הֵמָּה הָֽבֶל׃ Adonai yodea machshvot adam ki-hemah havelHaShem knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. יב12 אַשְׁרֵי ׀ הַגֶּבֶר אֲשֶׁר־תְּיַסְּרֶנּוּ יָּהּ וּֽמִתּוֹרָתְךָ תְלַמְּדֶֽנּוּ׃ ashrei ׀ hagever asher-teyasrenu yah umitoratkha telamdenuHappy is the man whom Thou instructest, O HaShem, and teachest out of Thy law; יג13 לְהַשְׁקִיט לוֹ מִימֵי רָע עַד יִכָּרֶה לָרָשָׁע שָֽׁחַת׃ lehashkit lo mimei ra ad yikareh larasha shachatThat Thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked. יד14 כִּי ׀ לֹא־יִטֹּשׁ יְיָ עַמּוֹ וְנַחֲלָתוֹ לֹא יַעֲזֹֽב׃ ki ׀ lo-yitosh Adonai amo venachalato lo yaazovFor HaShem will not cast off His people, neither will He forsake His inheritance. טו15 כִּֽי־עַד־צֶדֶק יָשׁוּב מִשְׁפָּט וְאַחֲרָיו כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵֽב׃ ki-ad-tzedek yashuv mishpat veacharayv kal-yishrei-levFor right shall return unto justice, and all the upright in heart shall follow it. טז16 מִֽי־יָקוּם לִי עִם־מְרֵעִים מִֽי־יִתְיַצֵּב לִי עִם־פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ mi-yakum li im-mereim mi-yityatzev li im-poalei avenWho will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? יז17 לוּלֵי יְיָ עֶזְרָתָה לִּי כִּמְעַט ׀ שָֽׁכְנָה דוּמָה נַפְשִֽׁי׃ lulei Adonai ezratah li kimeat ׀ shakhnah dumah nafshiUnless HaShem had been my help, my soul had soon dwelt in silence. יח18 אִם־אָמַרְתִּי מָטָה רַגְלִי חַסְדְּךָ יְיָ יִסְעָדֵֽנִי׃ im-amarti matah ragli chasdkha Adonai yisadeniIf I say: 'My foot slippeth', Thy mercy, O HaShem, holdeth me up. יט19 בְּרֹב שַׂרְעַפַּי בְּקִרְבִּי תַּנְחוּמֶיךָ יְֽשַׁעַשְׁעוּ נַפְשִֽׁי׃ berov sarapay bekirbi tanechumeikha yeshaashu nafshiWhen my cares are many within me, Thy comforts delight my soul. כ20 הַֽיְחָבְרְךָ כִּסֵּא הַוּוֹת יֹצֵר עָמָל עֲלֵי־חֹֽק׃ haychavrkha kise hauot yotzer amal alei-chokShall the seat of wickedness have fellowship with Thee, which frameth mischief by statute? כא21 יָגוֹדּוּ עַל־נֶפֶשׁ צַדִּיק וְדָם נָקִי יַרְשִֽׁיעוּ׃ yagodu al-nefesh tzadik vedam naki yarshiyuThey gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. כב22 וַיְהִי יְיָ לִי לְמִשְׂגָּב וֵאלֹהַי לְצוּר מַחְסִֽי׃ vayhi Adonai li lemisgav velohay letzur machsiBut HaShem hath been my high tower, and my G-d the rock of my refuge. כג23 וַיָּשֶׁב עֲלֵיהֶם ׀ אֶת־אוֹנָם וּבְרָעָתָם יַצְמִיתֵם יַצְמִיתֵם יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ vayashev aleihem ׀ et-onam uvraatam yatzmitem yatzmitem Adonai eloheinuAnd He hath brought upon them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil; HaShem our G-d will cut them off.

א1 לְכוּ נְרַנְּנָה לַיהוָה נָרִיעָה לְצוּר יִשְׁעֵֽנוּ׃ lekhu nerannah layhvah nariyah letzur yishenuO come, let us sing unto HaShem; let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation. ב2 נְקַדְּמָה פָנָיו בְּתוֹדָה בִּזְמִרוֹת נָרִיעַֽ לֽוֹ׃ nekadmah fanayv betodah bizemirot nariya loLet us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout for joy unto Him with psalms. ג3 כִּי אֵל גָּדוֹל יְיָ וּמֶלֶךְ גָּדוֹל עַל־כָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ ki el gadol Adonai umelekh gadol al-kal-elohimFor HaShem is a great G-d, and a great King above all gods; ד4 אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדוֹ מֶחְקְרֵי־אָרֶץ וְתוֹעֲפוֹת הָרִים לֽוֹ׃ asher beyado mechkrei-aretz vetoafot harim loIn whose hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are His also. ה5 אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ הַיָּם וְהוּא עָשָׂהוּ וְיַבֶּשֶׁת יָדָיו יָצָֽרוּ׃ asher-lo hayam vehu asahu veyabeshet yadayv yatzaruThe sea is His, and He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. ו6 בֹּאוּ נִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה וְנִכְרָעָה נִבְרְכָה לִֽפְנֵי־יְיָ עֹשֵֽׂנוּ׃ bou nishtachaveh venikhraah nivrkhah lifnei-Adonai osenuO come, let us bow down and bend the knee; let us kneel before HaShem our Maker; ז7 כִּי הוּא אֱלֹהֵינוּ וַאֲנַחְנוּ עַם מַרְעִיתוֹ וְצֹאן יָדוֹ הַיּוֹם אִֽם־בְּקֹלוֹ תִשְׁמָֽעוּ׃ ki hu eloheinu vaanachnu am marito vetzon yado hayom im-bekolo tishmauFor He is our G-d, and we are the people of His pasture, and the flock of His hand. To-day, if ye would but hearken to His voice! ח8 אַל־תַּקְשׁוּ לְבַבְכֶם כִּמְרִיבָה כְּיוֹם מַסָּה בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ al-takeshu levavkhem kimerivah keyom masah bamidebar'Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness; ט9 אֲשֶׁר נִסּוּנִי אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם בְּחָנוּנִי גַּם־רָאוּ פָעֳלִֽי׃ asher nisuni avoteikhem bechanuni gam-rau faoliWhen your fathers tried Me, proved Me, even though they saw My work. י10 אַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה ׀ אָקוּט בְּדוֹר וָאֹמַר עַם תֹּעֵי לֵבָב הֵם וְהֵם לֹא־יָדְעוּ דְרָכָֽי׃ arbaim shanah ׀ akut bedor vaomar am toei levav hem vehem lo-yadu derakhayFor forty years was I wearied with that generation, and said: It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known My ways; יא11 אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי בְאַפִּי אִם־יְבֹאוּן אֶל־מְנוּחָתִֽי׃ asher-nishbaeti veapi im-yevoun el-menuchatiWherefore I swore in My wrath, that they should not enter into My rest.'

א1 שִׁירוּ לַיהוָה שִׁיר חָדָשׁ שִׁירוּ לַיהוָה כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ shiru layhvah shir chadash shiru layhvah kal-haaretzO sing unto HaShem a new song; sing unto HaShem, all the earth. ב2 שִׁירוּ לַיהוָה בָּרֲכוּ שְׁמוֹ בַּשְּׂרוּ מִיּֽוֹם־לְיוֹם יְשׁוּעָתֽוֹ׃ shiru layhvah barakhu shemo baseru miyom-leyom yeshuatoSing unto HaShem, bless His name; proclaim His salvation from day to day. ג3 סַפְּרוּ בַגּוֹיִם כְּבוֹדוֹ בְּכָל־הָֽעַמִּים נִפְלְאוֹתָֽיו׃ sapru vagoyim kevodo bekhal-haamim niflotayvDeclare His glory among the nations, His marvellous works among all the peoples. ד4 כִּי גָדוֹל יְיָ וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד נוֹרָא הוּא עַל־כָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ ki gadol Adonai umhulal meod nora hu al-kal-elohimFor great is HaShem, and highly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. ה5 כִּי ׀ כָּל־אֱלֹהֵי הָעַמִּים אֱלִילִים וַֽיהוָה שָׁמַיִם עָשָֽׂה׃ ki ׀ kal-Elohei haamim elilim vayhvah shamayim asahFor all the gods of the peoples are things of nought; but HaShem made the heavens. ו6 הוֹד־וְהָדָר לְפָנָיו עֹז וְתִפְאֶרֶת בְּמִקְדָּשֽׁוֹ׃ hod-vehadar lefanayv oz vetiferet bemikdashoHonour and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. ז7 הָבוּ לַיהוָה מִשְׁפְּחוֹת עַמִּים הָבוּ לַיהוָה כָּבוֹד וָעֹֽז׃ havu layhvah mishpchot amim havu layhvah kavod vaozAscribe unto HaShem, ye kindreds of the peoples, ascribe unto HaShem glory and strength. ח8 הָבוּ לַיהוָה כְּבוֹד שְׁמוֹ שְׂאֽוּ־מִנְחָה וּבֹאוּ לְחַצְרוֹתָֽיו׃ havu layhvah kevod shemo seu-minchah uvou lechatzrotayvAscribe unto HaShem the glory due unto His name; bring an offering, and come into His courts. ט9 הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַיהוָה בְּהַדְרַת־קֹדֶשׁ חִילוּ מִפָּנָיו כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ hishtachavu layhvah behadrat-kodesh chilu mipanayv kal-haaretzO worship HaShem in the beauty of holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth. י10 אִמְרוּ בַגּוֹיִם ׀ יְיָ מָלָךְ אַף־תִּכּוֹן תֵּבֵל בַּל־תִּמּוֹט יָדִין עַמִּים בְּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ imru vagoyim ׀ Adonai malakh af-tikon tevel bal-timot yadin amim bemeisharimSay among the nations: 'The HaShem reigneth.' The world also is established that it cannot be moved; He will judge the peoples with equity. יא11 יִשְׂמְחוּ הַשָּׁמַיִם וְתָגֵל הָאָרֶץ יִֽרְעַם הַיָּם וּמְלֹאֽוֹ׃ yismchu hashamayim vetagel haaretz yiram hayam umlooLet the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; יב12 יַעֲלֹז שָׂדַי וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר־בּוֹ אָז יְרַנְּנוּ כָּל־עֲצֵי־יָֽעַר׃ yaaloz saday vekhal-asher-bo az yerannu kal-atzei-yaarLet the field exult; and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy; יג13 לִפְנֵי יְיָ ׀ כִּי בָא כִּי בָא לִשְׁפֹּט הָאָרֶץ יִשְׁפֹּֽט־תֵּבֵל בְּצֶדֶק וְעַמִּים בֶּאֱמוּנָתֽוֹ׃ lifnei Adonai ׀ ki va ki va lishpot haaretz yishpot-tevel betzedek veamim beemunatoBefore HaShem, for He is come; for He is come to judge the earth; He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples in His faithfulness.

א1 יְיָ מָלָךְ תָּגֵל הָאָרֶץ יִשְׂמְחוּ אִיִּים רַבִּֽים׃ Adonai malakh tagel haaretz yismchu iyim rabimHaShem reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad. ב2 עָנָן וַעֲרָפֶל סְבִיבָיו צֶדֶק וּמִשְׁפָּט מְכוֹן כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ anan vaarafel sevivayv tzedek umishpat mekhon kiseoClouds and darkness are round about Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. ג3 אֵשׁ לְפָנָיו תֵּלֵךְ וּתְלַהֵט סָבִיב צָרָֽיו׃ esh lefanayv telekh utlahet saviv tzarayvA fire goeth before Him, and burneth up His adversaries round about. ד4 הֵאִירוּ בְרָקָיו תֵּבֵל רָאֲתָה וַתָּחֵל הָאָֽרֶץ׃ heiru verakayv tevel raatah vatachel haaretzHis lightnings lighted up the world; the earth saw, and trembled. ה5 הָרִים כַּדּוֹנַג נָמַסּוּ מִלִּפְנֵי יְיָ מִלִּפְנֵי אֲדוֹן כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ harim kadonag namasu milifenei Adonai milifenei adon kal-haaretzThe mountains melted like wax at the presence of HaShem, at the presence of the L-rd of the whole earth. ו6 הִגִּידוּ הַשָּׁמַיִם צִדְקוֹ וְרָאוּ כָל־הָעַמִּים כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃ higidu hashamayim tzidko verau khal-haamim kevodoThe heavens declared His righteousness, and all the peoples saw His glory. ז7 יֵבֹשׁוּ ׀ כָּל־עֹבְדֵי פֶסֶל הַמִּֽתְהַלְלִים בָּאֱלִילִים הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־לוֹ כָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ yevoshu ׀ kal-ovdei fesel hamitehallim baelilim hishtachavu-lo kal-elohimAshamed be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of things of nought; bow down to Him, all ye gods. ח8 שָׁמְעָה וַתִּשְׂמַח ׀ צִיּוֹן וַתָּגֵלְנָה בְּנוֹת יְהוּדָה לְמַעַן מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ יְהוָֽה׃ shamah vatisemach ׀ tziyon vatagelnah benot yehudah lemaan mishpateikha AdonaiZion heard and was glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoiced; because of Thy judgments, O HaShem. ט9 כִּֽי־אַתָּה יְיָ עֶלְיוֹן עַל־כָּל־הָאָרֶץ מְאֹד נַעֲלֵיתָ עַל־כָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ ki-atah Adonai elyon al-kal-haaretz meod naaleita al-kal-elohimFor Thou, HaShem, art most high above all the earth; Thou art exalted far above all gods. י10 אֹהֲבֵי יְיָ שִׂנְאוּ רָע שֹׁמֵר נַפְשׁוֹת חֲסִידָיו מִיַּד רְשָׁעִים יַצִּילֵֽם׃ ohavei Adonai sinu ra shomer nafshot chasidayv miyad reshaim yatzilemO ye that love HaShem, hate evil; He preserveth the souls of His saints; He delivered them out of the hand of the wicked. יא11 אוֹר זָרֻעַ לַצַּדִּיק וּֽלְיִשְׁרֵי־לֵב שִׂמְחָֽה׃ or zarua latzadik ulyishrei-lev simchahLight is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. יב12 שִׂמְחוּ צַדִּיקִים בַּֽיהוָה וְהוֹדוּ לְזֵכֶר קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ simchu tzadikim bayhvah vehodu lezekher kadshoBe glad in HaShem, ye righteous; and give thanks to His holy name.

א1 מִזְמוֹר שִׁירוּ לַֽיהוָה ׀ שִׁיר חָדָשׁ כִּֽי־נִפְלָאוֹת עָשָׂה הוֹשִֽׁיעָה־לּוֹ יְמִינוֹ וּזְרוֹעַ קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ mizmor shiru layhvah ׀ shir chadash ki-niflaot asah hoshiyah-lo yemino uzroa kadshoA Psalm. O sing unto HaShem a new song; for He hath done marvellous things; His right hand, and His holy arm, hath wrought salvation for Him. ב2 הוֹדִיעַ יְיָ יְשׁוּעָתוֹ לְעֵינֵי הַגּוֹיִם גִּלָּה צִדְקָתֽוֹ׃ hodiya Adonai yeshuato leeinei hagoyim gilah tzidkatoHaShem hath made known His salvation; His righteousness hath He revealed in the sight of the nations. ג3 זָכַר חַסְדּוֹ ׀ וֶֽאֱֽמוּנָתוֹ לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל רָאוּ כָל־אַפְסֵי־אָרֶץ אֵת יְשׁוּעַת אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ zakhar chasdo ׀ veemunato leveit yisrael rau khal-afsei-aretz et yeshuat eloheinuHe hath remembered His mercy and His faithfulness toward the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our G-d. ד4 הָרִיעוּ לַֽיהוָה כָּל־הָאָרֶץ פִּצְחוּ וְרַנְּנוּ וְזַמֵּֽרוּ׃ hariyu layhvah kal-haaretz pitzechu verannu vezameruShout unto HaShem, all the earth; break forth and sing for joy, yea, sing praises. ה5 זַמְּרוּ לַיהוָה בְּכִנּוֹר בְּכִנּוֹר וְקוֹל זִמְרָֽה׃ zamru layhvah bekhinor bekhinor vekol zimrahSing praises unto HaShem with the harp; with the harp and the voice of melody. ו6 בַּחֲצֹצְרוֹת וְקוֹל שׁוֹפָר הָרִיעוּ לִפְנֵי ׀ הַמֶּלֶךְ יְהוָֽה׃ bachatzotzrot vekol shofar hariyu lifnei ׀ hamelekh AdonaiWith trumpets and sound of the horn shout ye before the King, HaShem. ז7 יִרְעַם הַיָּם וּמְלֹאוֹ תֵּבֵל וְיֹשְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ yiram hayam umloo tevel veyoshvei vahLet the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein; ח8 נְהָרוֹת יִמְחֲאוּ־כָף יַחַד הָרִים יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃ neharot yimchau-khaf yachad harim yeranenuLet the floods clap their hands; let the mountains sing for joy together; ט9 לִֽפְֽנֵי־יְיָ כִּי בָא לִשְׁפֹּט הָאָרֶץ יִשְׁפֹּֽט־תֵּבֵל בְּצֶדֶק וְעַמִּים בְּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ lifnei-Adonai ki va lishpot haaretz yishpot-tevel betzedek veamim bemeisharimBefore HaShem, for He is come to judge the earth; He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

א1 יְיָ מָלָךְ יִרְגְּזוּ עַמִּים יֹשֵׁב כְּרוּבִים תָּנוּט הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Adonai malakh yirgzu amim yoshev keruvim tanut haaretzHaShem reigneth; let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake. ב2 יְיָ בְּצִיּוֹן גָּדוֹל וְרָם הוּא עַל־כָּל־הָֽעַמִּֽים׃ Adonai betziyon gadol veram hu al-kal-haamimHaShem is great in Zion; and He is high above all the peoples. ג3 יוֹדוּ שִׁמְךָ גָּדוֹל וְנוֹרָא קָדוֹשׁ הֽוּא׃ yodu shimkha gadol venora kadosh huLet them praise Thy name as great and awful; Holy is He. ד4 וְעֹז מֶלֶךְ מִשְׁפָּט אָהֵב אַתָּה כּוֹנַנְתָּ מֵישָׁרִים מִשְׁפָּט וּצְדָקָה בְּיַעֲקֹב ׀ אַתָּה עָשִֽׂיתָ׃ veoz melekh mishpat ahev atah konanta meisharim mishpat utzdakah beyaakov ׀ atah asitaThe strength also of the king who loveth justice--Thou hast established equity, Thou hast executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. ה5 רֽוֹמְמוּ יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְֽהִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַהֲדֹם רַגְלָיו קָדוֹשׁ הֽוּא׃ rommu Adonai eloheinu vehishtachavu lahadom raglayv kadosh huExalt ye HaShem our G-d, and prostrate yourselves at His footstool; Holy is He. ו6 מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן ׀ בְּֽכֹהֲנָיו וּשְׁמוּאֵל בְּקֹרְאֵי שְׁמוֹ קֹרִאים אֶל־יְיָ וְהוּא יַעֲנֵֽם׃ mosheh veaharon ׀ bekhohanayv ushmuel bekorei shemo korim el-Adonai vehu yaanemMoses and Aaron among His priests, and Samuel among them that call upon His name, did call upon HaShem, and He answered them. ז7 בְּעַמּוּד עָנָן יְדַבֵּר אֲלֵיהֶם שָׁמְרוּ עֵדֹתָיו וְחֹק נָֽתַן־לָֽמוֹ׃ beamud anan yedaber aleihem shamru edotayv vechok natan-lamoHe spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies, and the statute that He gave them. ח8 יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ אַתָּה עֲנִיתָם אֵל נֹשֵׂא הָיִיתָ לָהֶם וְנֹקֵם עַל־עֲלִילוֹתָֽם׃ Adonai eloheinu atah anitam el nose hayita lahem venokem al-alilotamO HaShem our G-d, Thou didst answer them; a forgiving G-d wast Thou unto them, though Thou tookest vengeance of their misdeeds. ט9 רֽוֹמְמוּ יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְהַר קָדְשׁוֹ כִּֽי־קָדוֹשׁ יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ rommu Adonai eloheinu vehishtachavu lehar kadsho ki-kadosh Adonai eloheinuExalt ye HaShem our G-d, and worship at His holy hill; for HaShem our G-d is holy.

Shout unto HaShem, all the earth. ב2 עִבְדוּ אֶת־יְיָ בְּשִׂמְחָה בֹּאוּ לְפָנָיו בִּרְנָנָֽה׃ ivdu et-Adonai besimchah bou lefanayv birenanahServe HaShem with gladness; come before His presence with singing. ג3 דְּעוּ כִּֽי־יְיָ הוּא אֱלֹהִים הֽוּא־עָשָׂנוּ ולא אֲנַחְנוּ עַמּוֹ וְצֹאן מַרְעִיתֽוֹ׃ deu ki-Adonai hu Elohim hu-asanu vl anachnu amo vetzon maritoKnow ye that HaShem He is G-d; it is He that hath made us, and we our His, His people, and the flock of His pasture. ד4 בֹּאוּ שְׁעָרָיו ׀ בְּתוֹדָה חֲצֵרֹתָיו בִּתְהִלָּה הֽוֹדוּ־לוֹ בָּרֲכוּ שְׁמֽוֹ׃ bou shearayv ׀ betodah chatzerotayv bitehilah hodu-lo barakhu shemoEnter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; give thanks unto Him, and bless His name. ה5 כִּי־טוֹב יְהֹוָה לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ וְעַד־דֹּר וָדֹר אֱמוּנָתֽוֹ׃ ki-tov Adonai leolam chasdo vead-dor vador emunatoFor HaShem is good; His mercy endureth for ever; and His faithfulness unto all generations.

I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart. ג3 לֹֽא־אָשִׁית ׀ לְנֶגֶד עֵינַי דְּֽבַר־בְּלִיָּעַל עֲשֹֽׂה־סֵטִים שָׂנֵאתִי לֹא יִדְבַּק בִּֽי׃ lo-ashit ׀ leneged einay devar-beliyaal asoh-setim saneti lo yidbak biI will set no base thing before mine eyes; I hate the doing of things crooked; it shall not cleave unto me. ד4 לֵבָב עִקֵּשׁ יָסוּר מִמֶּנִּי רָע לֹא אֵדָֽע׃ levav ikesh yasur mimeni ra lo edaA perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know no evil thing. ה5 מלושני בַסֵּתֶר ׀ רֵעֵהוּ אוֹתוֹ אַצְמִית גְּֽבַהּ־עֵינַיִם וּרְחַב לֵבָב אֹתוֹ לֹא אוּכָֽל׃ mlvshny vaseter ׀ reehu oto atzmit gevah-einayim urchav levav oto lo ukhalWhoso slandereth his neighbour in secret, him will I destroy; whoso is haughty of eye and proud of heart, him will I not suffer. ו6 עֵינַי ׀ בְּנֶֽאֶמְנֵי־אֶרֶץ לָשֶׁבֶת עִמָּדִי הֹלֵךְ בְּדֶרֶךְ תָּמִים הוּא יְשָׁרְתֵֽנִי׃ einay ׀ beneemnei-eretz lashevet imadi holekh bederekh tamim hu yesharteniMine eyes are upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he that walketh in a way of integrity, he shall minister unto me. ז7 לֹֽא־יֵשֵׁב ׀ בְּקֶרֶב בֵּיתִי עֹשֵׂה רְמִיָּה דֹּבֵר שְׁקָרִים לֹֽא־יִכּוֹן לְנֶגֶד עֵינָֽי׃ lo-yeshev ׀ bekerev beiti oseh remiyah dover shekarim lo-yikon leneged einayHe that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house; he that speaketh falsehood shall not be established before mine eyes. ח8 לַבְּקָרִים אַצְמִית כָּל־רִשְׁעֵי־אָרֶץ לְהַכְרִית מֵֽעִיר־יְיָ כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ labkarim atzmit kal-rishei-aretz lehakhrit meir-Adonai kal-poalei avenMorning by morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land; to cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of HaShem.

א1 תְּפִלָּה לְעָנִי כִֽי־יַעֲטֹף וְלִפְנֵי יְיָ יִשְׁפֹּךְ שִׂיחֽוֹ׃ tefilah leani khi-yaatof velifnei Adonai yishpokhe sichoA Prayer of the afflicted, when he fainteth, and poureth out his complaint before HaShem. ב2 יְיָ שִׁמְעָה תְפִלָּתִי וְשַׁוְעָתִי אֵלֶיךָ תָבֽוֹא׃ Adonai shimah tefilati veshavati eleikha tavoO HaShem, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto Thee. ג3 אַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ ׀ מִמֶּנִּי בְּיוֹם צַר לִי הַטֵּֽה־אֵלַי אָזְנֶךָ בְּיוֹם אֶקְרָא מַהֵר עֲנֵֽנִי׃ al-taseter paneikha ׀ mimeni beyom tzar li hateh-elay aznekha beyom ekra maher aneniHide not Thy face from me in the day of my distress; incline Thine ear unto me; in the day when I call answer me speedily. ד4 כִּֽי־כָלוּ בְעָשָׁן יָמָי וְעַצְמוֹתַי כְּמוֹ־קֵד נִחָֽרוּ׃ ki-khalu veashan yamay veatzmotay kemo-ked nicharuFor my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as a hearth. ה5 הוּכָּֽה־כָעֵשֶׂב וַיִּבַשׁ לִבִּי כִּֽי־שָׁכַחְתִּי מֵאֲכֹל לַחְמִֽי׃ hukah-khaesev vayivash libi ki-shakhachti meakhol lachmiMy heart is smitten like grass, and withered; for I forget to eat my bread. ו6 מִקּוֹל אַנְחָתִי דָּבְקָה עַצְמִי לִבְשָׂרִֽי׃ mikol anchati davekah atzmi livsariBy reason of the voice of my sighing my bones cleave to my flesh. ז7 דָּמִיתִי לִקְאַת מִדְבָּר הָיִיתִי כְּכוֹס חֳרָבֽוֹת׃ damiti likat midbar hayiti kekhos choravotI am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am become as an owl of the waste places. ח8 שָׁקַדְתִּי וָאֶֽהְיֶה כְּצִפּוֹר בּוֹדֵד עַל־גָּֽג׃ shakadti vaehyeh ketzipor boded al-gagI watch, and am become like a sparrow that is alone upon the housetop. ט9 כָּל־הַיּוֹם חֵרְפוּנִי אוֹיְבָי מְהוֹלָלַי בִּי נִשְׁבָּֽעוּ׃ kal-hayom cherfuni oyvay meholalay bi nishbauMine enemies taunt me all the day; they that are mad against me do curse by me. י10 כִּי־אֵפֶר כַּלֶּחֶם אָכָלְתִּי וְשִׁקֻּוַי בִּבְכִי מָסָֽכְתִּי׃ ki-efer kalechem akhalti veshikuvay bivekhi masakhtiFor I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, יא11 מִפְּנֵֽי־זַֽעַמְךָ וְקִצְפֶּךָ כִּי נְשָׂאתַנִי וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵֽנִי׃ mipnei-zaamkha vekitzpekha ki nesatani vatashelikheniBecause of Thine indignation and Thy wrath; for Thou hast taken me up, and cast me away. יב12 יָמַי כְּצֵל נָטוּי וַאֲנִי כָּעֵשֶׂב אִיבָֽשׁ׃ yamay ketzel natuy vaani kaesev ivashMy days are like a lengthening shadow; and I am withered like grass. יג13 וְאַתָּה יְיָ לְעוֹלָם תֵּשֵׁב וְזִכְרְךָ לְדֹר וָדֹֽר׃ veatah Adonai leolam teshev vezikhrkha ledor vadorBut Thou, O HaShem, sittest enthroned for ever; and Thy name is unto all generations. יד14 אַתָּה תָקוּם תְּרַחֵם צִיּוֹן כִּי־עֵת לְחֶֽנְנָהּ כִּי־בָא מוֹעֵֽד׃ atah takum terachem tziyon ki-et lechennah ki-va moedThou wilt arise, and have compassion upon Zion; for it is time to be gracious unto her, for the appointed time is come. טו15 כִּֽי־רָצוּ עֲבָדֶיךָ אֶת־אֲבָנֶיהָ וְֽאֶת־עֲפָרָהּ יְחֹנֵֽנוּ׃ ki-ratzu avadeikha et-avaneiha veet-afarah yechonenuFor Thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and love her dust. טז16 וְיִֽירְאוּ גוֹיִם אֶת־שֵׁם יְיָ וְֽכָל־מַלְכֵי הָאָרֶץ אֶת־כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ veyiru goyim et-shem Adonai vekhal-malkhei haaretz et-kevodekhaSo the nations will fear the name of HaShem, and all the kings of the earth Thy glory; יז17 כִּֽי־בָנָה יְיָ צִיּוֹן נִרְאָה בִּכְבוֹדֽוֹ׃ ki-vanah Adonai tziyon nirah bikhevodoWhen HaShem hath built up Zion, when He hath appeared in His glory; יח18 פָּנָה אֶל־תְּפִלַּת הָעַרְעָר וְלֹֽא־בָזָה אֶת־תְּפִלָּתָֽם׃ panah el-tefilat haarar velo-vazah et-tefilatamWhen He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute, and hath not despised their prayer. יט19 תִּכָּתֶב זֹאת לְדוֹר אַחֲרוֹן וְעַם נִבְרָא יְהַלֶּל־יָֽהּ׃ tikatev zot ledor acharon veam nivra yehalel-yahThis shall be written for the generation to come; and a people which shall be created shall praise HaShem. כ20 כִּֽי־הִשְׁקִיף מִמְּרוֹם קָדְשׁוֹ יְיָ מִשָּׁמַיִם ׀ אֶל־אֶרֶץ הִבִּֽיט׃ ki-hishkif mimrom kadsho Adonai mishamayim ׀ el-eretz hibitFor He hath looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven did HaShem behold the earth; כא21 לִשְׁמֹעַ אֶנְקַת אָסִיר לְפַתֵּחַ בְּנֵי תְמוּתָֽה׃ lishmoa enkat asir lefatecha benei temutahTo hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; כב22 לְסַפֵּר בְּצִיּוֹן שֵׁם יְיָ וּתְהִלָּתוֹ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ lesaper betziyon shem Adonai uthilato birushalaimThat men may tell of the name of HaShem in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem; כג23 בְּהִקָּבֵץ עַמִּים יַחְדָּו וּמַמְלָכוֹת לַעֲבֹד אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ behikavetz amim yachdav umamlakhot laavod et-AdonaiWhen the peoples are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve HaShem. כד24 עִנָּה בַדֶּרֶךְ כחו קִצַּר יָמָֽי׃ inah vaderekh khchv kitzar yamayHe weakened my strength in the way; He shortened my days. כה25 אֹמַר אֵלִי אַֽל־תַּעֲלֵנִי בַּחֲצִי יָמָי בְּדוֹר דּוֹרִים שְׁנוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ omar eli al-taaleni bachatzi yamay bedor dorim shenoteikhaI say: 'O my G-d, take me not away in the midst of my days, Thou whose years endure throughout all generations. כו26 לְפָנִים הָאָרֶץ יָסַדְתָּ וּֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ שָׁמָֽיִם׃ lefanim haaretz yasadta umaaseh yadeikha shamayimOf old Thou didst lay the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of Thy hands. כז27 הֵמָּה ׀ יֹאבֵדוּ וְאַתָּה תַעֲמֹד וְכֻלָּם כַּבֶּגֶד יִבְלוּ כַּלְּבוּשׁ תַּחֲלִיפֵם וְֽיַחֲלֹֽפוּ׃ hemah ׀ yovedu veatah taamod vekhulam kabeged yivlu kalevush tachalifem veyachalofuThey shall perish, but Thou shalt endure; yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt Thou change them, and they shall pass away; כח28 וְאַתָּה־הוּא וּשְׁנוֹתֶיךָ לֹא יִתָּֽמּוּ׃ veatah-hu ushnoteikha lo yitamuBut Thou art the selfsame, and Thy years shall have no end. כט29 בְּנֵֽי־עֲבָדֶיךָ יִשְׁכּוֹנוּ וְזַרְעָם לְפָנֶיךָ יִכּֽוֹן׃ benei-avadeikha yishkonu vezaram lefaneikha yikonThe children of Thy servants shall dwell securely, and their seed shall be established before Thee.'

א1 לְדָוִד ׀ בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְיָ וְכָל־קְרָבַי אֶת־שֵׁם קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ ledavid ׀ barakhi nafshi et-Adonai vekhal-keravay et-shem kadshoA Psalm of David. Bless HaShem, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name. ב2 בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְיָ וְאַל־תִּשְׁכְּחִי כָּל־גְּמוּלָֽיו׃ barakhi nafshi et-Adonai veal-tishekchi kal-gemulayvBless HaShem, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; ג3 הַסֹּלֵחַ לְכָל־עֲוֺנֵכִי הָרֹפֵא לְכָל־תַּחֲלֻאָֽיְכִי׃ hasolecha lekhal-aonekhi harofe lekhal-tachaluaykhiWho forgiveth all thine iniquity; who healeth all Thy diseases; ד4 הַגּוֹאֵל מִשַּׁחַת חַיָּיְכִי הַֽמְעַטְּרֵכִי חֶסֶד וְרַחֲמִֽים׃ hagoel mishachat chayayekhi hamatrekhi chesed verachamimWho redeemeth Thy life from the pit; who encompasseth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; ה5 הַמַּשְׂבִּיַע בַּטּוֹב עֶדְיֵךְ תִּתְחַדֵּשׁ כַּנֶּשֶׁר נְעוּרָֽיְכִי׃ hamasebiya batov edyekh titechadesh kanesher neuraykhiWho satisfieth thine old age with good things; so that Thy youth is renewed like the eagle. ו6 עֹשֵׂה צְדָקוֹת יְיָ וּמִשְׁפָּטִים לְכָל־עֲשׁוּקִֽים׃ oseh tzedakot Adonai umishpatim lekhal-ashukimHaShem executeth righteousness, and acts of justice for all that are oppressed. ז7 יוֹדִיעַ דְּרָכָיו לְמֹשֶׁה לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עֲלִילֽוֹתָיו׃ yodiya derakhayv lemosheh livnei yisrael alilotayvHe made known His ways unto Moses, His doings unto the children of Israel. ח8 רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן יְיָ אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם וְרַב־חָֽסֶד׃ rachum vechanun Adonai erekh apayim verav-chasedHaShem is full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. ט9 לֹֽא־לָנֶצַח יָרִיב וְלֹא לְעוֹלָם יִטּֽוֹר׃ lo-lanetzach yariv velo leolam yitorHe will not always contend; neither will He keep His anger for ever. י10 לֹא כַחֲטָאֵינוּ עָשָׂה לָנוּ וְלֹא כַעֲוֺנֹתֵינוּ גָּמַל עָלֵֽינוּ׃ lo khachataeinu asah lanu velo khaaonoteinu gamal aleinuHe hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor requited us according to our iniquities. יא11 כִּי כִגְבֹהַּ שָׁמַיִם עַל־הָאָרֶץ גָּבַר חַסְדּוֹ עַל־יְרֵאָֽיו׃ ki khigvoha shamayim al-haaretz gavar chasdo al-yereayvFor as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him. יב12 כִּרְחֹק מִזְרָח מִֽמַּֽעֲרָב הִֽרְחִיק מִמֶּנּוּ אֶת־פְּשָׁעֵֽינוּ׃ kirechok mizrach mimaarav hirchik mimenu et-peshaeinuAs far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us. יג13 כְּרַחֵם אָב עַל־בָּנִים רִחַם יְיָ עַל־יְרֵאָֽיו׃ kerachem av al-banim richam Adonai al-yereayvLike as a father hath compassion upon his children, so hath HaShem compassion upon them that fear Him. יד14 כִּי־הוּא יָדַע יִצְרֵנוּ זָכוּר כִּי־עָפָר אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃ ki-hu yada yitzrenu zakhur ki-afar anachnuFor He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust. טו15 אֱנוֹשׁ כֶּחָצִיר יָמָיו כְּצִיץ הַשָּׂדֶה כֵּן יָצִֽיץ׃ enosh kechatzir yamayv ketzitz hasadeh ken yatzitzAs for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. טז16 כִּי רוּחַ עָֽבְרָה־בּוֹ וְאֵינֶנּוּ וְלֹא־יַכִּירֶנּוּ עוֹד מְקוֹמֽוֹ׃ ki rucha avrah-bo veeinenu velo-yakirenu od mekomoFor the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof knoweth it no more. יז17 וְחֶסֶד יְיָ ׀ מֵעוֹלָם וְעַד־עוֹלָם עַל־יְרֵאָיו וְצִדְקָתוֹ לִבְנֵי בָנִֽים׃ vechesed Adonai ׀ meolam vead-olam al-yereayv vetzidkato livnei vanimBut the mercy of HaShem is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children; יח18 לְשֹׁמְרֵי בְרִיתוֹ וּלְזֹכְרֵי פִקֻּדָיו לַעֲשׂוֹתָֽם׃ leshomrei verito ulzokhrei fikudayv laasotamTo such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember His precepts to do them. יט19 יְֽהוָה בַּשָּׁמַיִם הֵכִין כִּסְאוֹ וּמַלְכוּתוֹ בַּכֹּל מָשָֽׁלָה׃ Adonai bashamayim hekhin kiseo umalkhuto bakol mashalahHaShem hath established His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all. כ20 בָּרֲכוּ יְיָ מַלְאָכָיו גִּבֹּרֵי כֹחַ עֹשֵׂי דְבָרוֹ לִשְׁמֹעַ בְּקוֹל דְּבָרֽוֹ׃ barakhu Adonai malakhayv giborei khocha osei devaro lishmoa bekol devaroBless HaShem, ye angels of His, ye mighty in strength, that fulfil His word, hearkening unto the voice of His word. כא21 בָּרֲכוּ יְיָ כָּל־צְבָאָיו מְשָׁרְתָיו עֹשֵׂי רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃ barakhu Adonai kal-tzevaayv meshartayv osei retzonoBless HaShem, all ye His hosts; ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure. כב22 בָּרֲכוּ יְיָ ׀ כָּֽל־מַעֲשָׂיו בְּכָל־מְקֹמוֹת מֶמְשַׁלְתּוֹ בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ barakhu Adonai ׀ kal-maasayv bekhal-mekomot memshalto barakhi nafshi et-AdonaiBless HaShem, all ye His works, in all places of His dominion; bless HaShem, O my soul.

O HaShem my G-d, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with glory and majesty. ב2 עֹֽטֶה־אוֹר כַּשַּׂלְמָה נוֹטֶה שָׁמַיִם כַּיְרִיעָֽה׃ oteh-or kasalemah noteh shamayim kayeriyahWho coverest Thyself with light as with a garment, who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain; ג3 הַמְקָרֶֽה בַמַּיִם עֲֽלִיּוֹתָיו הַשָּׂם־עָבִים רְכוּבוֹ הַֽמְהַלֵּךְ עַל־כַּנְפֵי־רֽוּחַ׃ hamkareh vamayim aliyotayv hasam-avim rekhuvo hamhalekhe al-kanefei-ruchaWho layest the beams of Thine upper chambers in the waters, who makest the clouds Thy chariot, who walkest upon the wings of the wind; ד4 עֹשֶׂה מַלְאָכָיו רוּחוֹת מְשָׁרְתָיו אֵשׁ לֹהֵֽט׃ oseh malakhayv ruchot meshartayv esh lohetWho makest winds Thy messengers, the flaming fire Thy ministers. ה5 יָֽסַד־אֶרֶץ עַל־מְכוֹנֶיהָ בַּל־תִּמּוֹט עוֹלָם וָעֶֽד׃ yasad-eretz al-mekhoneiha bal-timot olam vaedWho didst establish the earth upon its foundations, that it should not be moved for ever and ever; ו6 תְּהוֹם כַּלְּבוּשׁ כִּסִּיתוֹ עַל־הָרִים יַֽעַמְדוּ־מָֽיִם׃ tehom kalevush kisito al-harim yaamdu-mayimThou didst cover it with the deep as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains. ז7 מִן־גַּעֲרָתְךָ יְנוּסוּן מִן־קוֹל רַֽעַמְךָ יֵחָפֵזֽוּן׃ min-gaaratkha yenusun min-kol raamkha yechafezunAt Thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of Thy thunder they hasted away-- ח8 יַעֲלוּ הָרִים יֵרְדוּ בְקָעוֹת אֶל־מְקוֹם זֶה ׀ יָסַדְתָּ לָהֶֽם׃ yaalu harim yerdu vekaot el-mekom zeh ׀ yasadta lahemThe mountains rose, the valleys sank down--unto the place which Thou hadst founded for them; ט9 גְּֽבוּל־שַׂמְתָּ בַּל־יַֽעֲבֹרוּן בַּל־יְשׁוּבוּן לְכַסּוֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃ gevul-samta bal-yaavorun bal-yeshuvun lekhasot haaretzThou didst set a bound which they should not pass over, that they might not return to cover the earth. י10 הַֽמְשַׁלֵּחַ מַעְיָנִים בַּנְּחָלִים בֵּין הָרִים יְהַלֵּכֽוּן׃ hamshalecha mayanim banechalim bein harim yehalekhunWho sendest forth springs into the valleys; they run between the mountains; יא11 יַשְׁקוּ כָּל־חַיְתוֹ שָׂדָי יִשְׁבְּרוּ פְרָאִים צְמָאָֽם׃ yashku kal-chayto saday yishbru feraim tzemaamThey give drink to every beast of the field, the wild asses quench their thirst. יב12 עֲלֵיהֶם עוֹף־הַשָּׁמַיִם יִשְׁכּוֹן מִבֵּין עֳפָאיִם יִתְּנוּ־קֽוֹל׃ aleihem of-hashamayim yishkon mibein ofayim yitnu-kolBeside them dwell the fowl of the heaven, from among the branches they sing. יג13 מַשְׁקֶה הָרִים מֵעֲלִיּוֹתָיו מִפְּרִי מַעֲשֶׂיךָ תִּשְׂבַּע הָאָֽרֶץ׃ mashkeh harim mealiyotayv mipri maaseikha tiseba haaretzWho waterest the mountains from Thine upper chambers; the earth is full of the fruit of Thy works. יד14 מַצְמִיחַ חָצִיר ׀ לַבְּהֵמָה וְעֵשֶׂב לַעֲבֹדַת הָאָדָם לְהוֹצִיא לֶחֶם מִן־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ matzmicha chatzir ׀ labhemah veesev laavodat haadam lehotzi lechem min-haaretzWho causeth the grass to spring up for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; to bring forth bread out of the earth, טו15 וְיַיִן ׀ יְשַׂמַּח לְֽבַב־אֱנוֹשׁ לְהַצְהִיל פָּנִים מִשָּׁמֶן וְלֶחֶם לְֽבַב־אֱנוֹשׁ יִסְעָֽד׃ veyayin ׀ yesamach levav-enosh lehatzhil panim mishamen velechem levav-enosh yisadAnd wine that maketh glad the heart of man, making the face brighter than oil, and bread that stayeth man's heart. טז16 יִשְׂבְּעוּ עֲצֵי יְיָ אַֽרְזֵי לְבָנוֹן אֲשֶׁר נָטָֽע׃ yisbu atzei Adonai arzei levanon asher nataThe trees of HaShem have their fill, the cedars of Lebanon, which He hath planted; יז17 אֲשֶׁר־שָׁם צִפֳּרִים יְקַנֵּנוּ חֲסִידָה בְּרוֹשִׁים בֵּיתָֽהּ׃ asher-sham tziporim yekanenu chasidah beroshim beitahWherein the birds make their nests; as for the stork, the fir-trees are her house. יח18 הָרִים הַגְּבֹהִים לַיְּעֵלִים סְלָעִים מַחְסֶה לַֽשְׁפַנִּֽים׃ harim hagvohim layelim selaim machseh lashfanimThe high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the conies. יט19 עָשָׂה יָרֵחַ לְמוֹעֲדִים שֶׁמֶשׁ יָדַע מְבוֹאֽוֹ׃ asah yarecha lemoadim shemesh yada mevooWho appointedst the moon for seasons; the sun knoweth his going down. כ20 תָּֽשֶׁת־חֹשֶׁךְ וִיהִי לָיְלָה בּֽוֹ־תִרְמֹשׂ כָּל־חַיְתוֹ־יָֽעַר׃ tashet-choshekh vihi laylah bo-tirmos kal-chayto-yaarThou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth. כא21 הַכְּפִירִים שֹׁאֲגִים לַטָּרֶף וּלְבַקֵּשׁ מֵאֵל אָכְלָֽם׃ hakfirim shoagim lataref ulvakesh meel akhlamThe young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from G-d. כב22 תִּזְרַח הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יֵאָסֵפוּן וְאֶל־מְעוֹנֹתָם יִרְבָּצֽוּן׃ tizerach hashemesh yeasefun veel-meonotam yirbatzunThe sun ariseth, they slink away, and couch in their dens. כג23 יֵצֵא אָדָם לְפָעֳלוֹ וְֽלַעֲבֹדָתוֹ עֲדֵי־עָֽרֶב׃ yetze adam lefaolo velaavodato adei-arevMan goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening. כד24 מָֽה־רַבּוּ מַעֲשֶׂיךָ ׀ יְֽהוָה כֻּלָּם בְּחָכְמָה עָשִׂיתָ מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ קִנְיָנֶֽךָ׃ mah-rabu maaseikha ׀ Adonai kulam bechakhmah asita malah haaretz kinyanekhaHow manifold are Thy works, O HaShem! In wisdom hast Thou made them all; the earth is full of Thy creatures. כה25 זֶה ׀ הַיָּם גָּדוֹל וּרְחַב יָדָיִם שָֽׁם־רֶמֶשׂ וְאֵין מִסְפָּר חַיּוֹת קְטַנּוֹת עִם־גְּדֹלֽוֹת׃ zeh ׀ hayam gadol urchav yadayim sham-remes veein mispar chayot ketanot im-gedolotYonder sea, great and wide, therein are creeping things innumerable, living creatures, both small and great. כו26 שָׁם אֳנִיּוֹת יְהַלֵּכוּן לִוְיָתָן זֶֽה־יָצַרְתָּ לְשַֽׂחֶק־בּֽוֹ׃ sham oniyot yehalekhun livyatan zeh-yatzarta lesachek-boThere go the ships; there is leviathan, whom Thou hast formed to sport therein. כז27 כֻּלָּם אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּן לָתֵת אָכְלָם בְּעִתּֽוֹ׃ kulam eleikha yesaberun latet akhlam beitoAll of them wait for Thee, that Thou mayest give them their food in due season. כח28 תִּתֵּן לָהֶם יִלְקֹטוּן תִּפְתַּח יָֽדְךָ יִשְׂבְּעוּן טֽוֹב׃ titen lahem yilkotun tifetach yadkha yisbun tovThou givest it unto them, they gather it; Thou openest Thy hand, they are satisfied with good. כט29 תַּסְתִּיר פָּנֶיךָ יִֽבָּהֵלוּן תֹּסֵף רוּחָם יִגְוָעוּן וְֽאֶל־עֲפָרָם יְשׁוּבֽוּן׃ tasetir paneikha yibahelun tosef rucham yigvaun veel-afaram yeshuvunThou hidest Thy face, they vanish; Thou withdrawest their breath, they perish, and return to their dust. ל30 תְּשַׁלַּח רוּחֲךָ יִבָּרֵאוּן וּתְחַדֵּשׁ פְּנֵי אֲדָמָֽה׃ teshalach ruchakha yibareun utchadesh penei adamahThou sendest forth Thy spirit, they are created; and Thou renewest the face of the earth. לא31 יְהִי כְבוֹד יְיָ לְעוֹלָם יִשְׂמַח יְיָ בְּמַעֲשָֽׂיו׃ yehi khevod Adonai leolam yismach Adonai bemaasayvMay the glory of HaShem endure for ever; let HaShem rejoice in His works! לב32 הַמַּבִּיט לָאָרֶץ וַתִּרְעָד יִגַּע בֶּהָרִים וְֽיֶעֱשָֽׁנוּ׃ hamabit laaretz vatiread yiga beharim veyeeshanuWho looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; He toucheth the mountains, and they smoke. לג33 אָשִׁירָה לַיהוָה בְּחַיָּי אֲזַמְּרָה לֵאלֹהַי בְּעוֹדִֽי׃ ashirah layhvah bechayay azamrah lelohay beodiI will sing unto HaShem as long as I live; I will sing praise to my G-d while I have any being. לד34 יֶעֱרַב עָלָיו שִׂיחִי אָנֹכִי אֶשְׂמַח בַּיהוָֽה׃ yeerav alayv sichi anokhi esmach bayhvahLet my musing be sweet unto Him; as for me, I will rejoice in HaShem. לה35 יִתַּמּוּ חַטָּאִים ׀ מִן־הָאָרֶץ וּרְשָׁעִים ׀ עוֹד אֵינָם בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְיָ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ yitamu chataim ׀ min-haaretz urshaim ׀ od einam barakhi nafshi et-Adonai hallu-yahLet sinners cease out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. א1 הוֹדוּ לַיהוָה קִרְאוּ בִּשְׁמוֹ הוֹדִיעוּ בָעַמִּים עֲלִילוֹתָֽיו׃ hodu layhvah kiru bishemo hodiyu vaamim alilotayvO give thanks unto HaShem, call upon His name; make known His doings among the peoples. ב2 שִֽׁירוּ־לוֹ זַמְּרוּ־לוֹ שִׂיחוּ בְּכָל־נִפְלְאוֹתָֽיו׃ shiru-lo zamru-lo sichu bekhal-niflotayvSing unto Him, sing praises unto Him; speak ye of all His marvellous works. ג3 הִֽתְהַלְלוּ בְּשֵׁם קָדְשׁוֹ יִשְׂמַח לֵב ׀ מְבַקְשֵׁי יְהוָֽה׃ hithallu beshem kadsho yismach lev ׀ mevakshei AdonaiGlory ye in His holy name; let the heart of them rejoice that seek HaShem. ד4 דִּרְשׁוּ יְיָ וְעֻזּוֹ בַּקְּשׁוּ פָנָיו תָּמִֽיד׃ direshu Adonai veuzo bakeshu fanayv tamidSeek ye HaShem and His strength; seek His face continually. ה5 זִכְרוּ נִפְלְאוֹתָיו אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה מֹפְתָיו וּמִשְׁפְּטֵי־פִֽיו׃ zikhru niflotayv asher-asah moftayv umishptei-fivRemember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth; ו6 זֶרַע אַבְרָהָם עַבְדּוֹ בְּנֵי יַעֲקֹב בְּחִירָֽיו׃ zera avraham avdo benei yaakov bechirayvO ye seed of Abraham His servant, ye children of Jacob, His chosen ones. ז7 הוּא יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ בְּכָל־הָאָרֶץ מִשְׁפָּטָֽיו׃ hu Adonai eloheinu bekhal-haaretz mishpatayvHe is HaShem our G-d; His judgments are in all the earth. ח8 זָכַר לְעוֹלָם בְּרִיתוֹ דָּבָר צִוָּה לְאֶלֶף דּֽוֹר׃ zakhar leolam berito davar tzivah leelef dorHe hath remembered His covenant for ever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations; ט9 אֲשֶׁר כָּרַת אֶת־אַבְרָהָם וּשְׁבוּעָתוֹ לְיִשְׂחָֽק׃ asher karat et-avraham ushvuato leyischakThe covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath unto Isaac; י10 וַיַּֽעֲמִידֶהָ לְיַעֲקֹב לְחֹק לְיִשְׂרָאֵל בְּרִית עוֹלָֽם׃ vayaamideha leyaakov lechok leyisrael berit olamAnd He established it unto Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant; יא11 לֵאמֹר לְךָ אֶתֵּן אֶת־אֶֽרֶץ־כְּנָעַן חֶבֶל נַחֲלַתְכֶֽם׃ lemor lekha eten et-eretz-kenaan chevel nachalatkhemSaying: 'Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.' יב12 בִּֽהְיוֹתָם מְתֵי מִסְפָּר כִּמְעַט וְגָרִים בָּֽהּ׃ biheyotam metei mispar kimeat vegarim bahWhen they were but a few men in number. Yea, very few, and sojourners in it, יג13 וַֽיִּתְהַלְּכוּ מִגּוֹי אֶל־גּוֹי מִמַּמְלָכָה אֶל־עַם אַחֵֽר׃ vayitehalkhu migoy el-goy mimamelakhah el-am acherAnd when they went about from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, יד14 לֹֽא־הִנִּיחַ אָדָם לְעָשְׁקָם וַיּוֹכַח עֲלֵיהֶם מְלָכִֽים׃ lo-hinicha adam leashkam vayokhach aleihem melakhimHe suffered no man to do them wrong, yea, for their sake He reproved kings: טו15 אַֽל־תִּגְּעוּ בִמְשִׁיחָי וְלִנְבִיאַי אַל־תָּרֵֽעוּ׃ al-tigeu vimshichay velinviyay al-tareu'Touch not Mine anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.' טז16 וַיִּקְרָא רָעָב עַל־הָאָרֶץ כָּֽל־מַטֵּה־לֶחֶם שָׁבָֽר׃ vayikera raav al-haaretz kal-mateh-lechem shavarAnd He called a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread. יז17 שָׁלַח לִפְנֵיהֶם אִישׁ לְעֶבֶד נִמְכַּר יוֹסֵֽף׃ shalach lifneihem ish leeved nimkar yosefHe sent a man before them; Joseph was sold for a servant; יח18 עִנּוּ בַכֶּבֶל רגליו בַּרְזֶל בָּאָה נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ inu vakevel rglyv barezel baah nafshoHis feet they hurt with fetters, his person was laid in iron; יט19 עַד־עֵת בֹּֽא־דְבָרוֹ אִמְרַת יְיָ צְרָפָֽתְהוּ׃ ad-et bo-devaro imrat Adonai tzerafathuUntil the time that his word came to pass, the word of HaShem tested him. כ20 שָׁלַח מֶלֶךְ וַיַּתִּירֵהוּ מֹשֵׁל עַמִּים וַֽיְפַתְּחֵֽהוּ׃ shalach melekh vayatirehu moshel amim vayfatchehuThe king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the peoples, and set him free. כא21 שָׂמוֹ אָדוֹן לְבֵיתוֹ וּמֹשֵׁל בְּכָל־קִנְיָנֽוֹ׃ samo adon leveito umoshel bekhal-kinyanoHe made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possessions; כב22 לֶאְסֹר שָׂרָיו בְּנַפְשׁוֹ וּזְקֵנָיו יְחַכֵּֽם׃ lesor sarayv benafsho uzkenayv yechakemTo bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom. כג23 וַיָּבֹא יִשְׂרָאֵל מִצְרָיִם וְיַעֲקֹב גָּר בְּאֶֽרֶץ־חָֽם׃ vayavo yisrael mitzrayim veyaakov gar beeretz-chamIsrael also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. כד24 וַיֶּפֶר אֶת־עַמּוֹ מְאֹד וַיַּֽעֲצִמֵהוּ מִצָּרָֽיו׃ vayefer et-amo meod vayaatzimehu mitzarayvAnd He increased His people greatly, and made them too mighty for their adversaries. כה25 הָפַךְ לִבָּם לִשְׂנֹא עַמּוֹ לְהִתְנַכֵּל בַּעֲבָדָֽיו׃ hafakh libam lisno amo lehitnakel baavadayvHe turned their heart to hate His people, to deal craftily with His servants. כו26 שָׁלַח מֹשֶׁה עַבְדּוֹ אַהֲרֹן אֲשֶׁר בָּֽחַר־בּֽוֹ׃ shalach mosheh avdo aharon asher bachar-boHe sent Moses His servant, and Aaron whom He had chosen. כז27 שָֽׂמוּ־בָם דִּבְרֵי אֹתוֹתָיו וּמֹפְתִים בְּאֶרֶץ חָֽם׃ samu-vam diverei ototayv umoftim beeretz chamThey wrought among them His manifold signs, and wonders in the land of Ham. כח28 שָׁלַֽח חֹשֶׁךְ וַיַּחְשִׁךְ וְלֹֽא־מָרוּ אֶת־דברוו׃ shalach choshekh vayacheshikh velo-maru et-dvrvvHe sent darkness, and it was dark; and they rebelled not against His word. כט29 הָפַךְ אֶת־מֵימֵיהֶם לְדָם וַיָּמֶת אֶת־דְּגָתָֽם׃ hafakh et-meimeihem ledam vayamet et-degatamHe turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish. ל30 שָׁרַץ אַרְצָם צְפַרְדְּעִים בְּחַדְרֵי מַלְכֵיהֶֽם׃ sharatz artzam tzefardim bechadrei malkheihemTheir land swarmed with frogs, in the chambers of their kings. לא31 אָמַר וַיָּבֹא עָרֹב כִּנִּים בְּכָל־גְּבוּלָֽם׃ amar vayavo arov kinim bekhal-gevulamHe spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats in all their borders. לב32 נָתַן גִּשְׁמֵיהֶם בָּרָד אֵשׁ לֶהָבוֹת בְּאַרְצָֽם׃ natan gishemeihem barad esh lehavot beartzamHe gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land. לג33 וַיַּךְ גַּפְנָם וּתְאֵנָתָם וַיְשַׁבֵּר עֵץ גְּבוּלָֽם׃ vayakhe gafenam utenatam vayshaber etz gevulamHe smote their vines also and their fig-trees; and broke the trees of their borders. לד34 אָמַר וַיָּבֹא אַרְבֶּה וְיֶלֶק וְאֵין מִסְפָּֽר׃ amar vayavo arbeh veyelek veein misparHe spoke, and the locust came, and the canker-worm without number, לה35 וַיֹּאכַל כָּל־עֵשֶׂב בְּאַרְצָם וַיֹּאכַל פְּרִי אַדְמָתָֽם׃ vayokhal kal-esev beartzam vayokhal peri admatamAnd did eat up every herb in their land, and did eat up the fruit of their ground. לו36 וַיַּךְ כָּל־בְּכוֹר בְּאַרְצָם רֵאשִׁית לְכָל־אוֹנָֽם׃ vayakhe kal-bekhor beartzam reshit lekhal-onamHe smote also all the first-born in their land, the first-fruits of all their strength. לז37 וַֽיּוֹצִיאֵם בְּכֶסֶף וְזָהָב וְאֵין בִּשְׁבָטָיו כּוֹשֵֽׁל׃ vayotziyem bekhesef vezahav veein bishevatayv koshelAnd He brought them forth with silver and gold; and there was none that stumbled among His tribes. לח38 שָׂמַח מִצְרַיִם בְּצֵאתָם כִּֽי־נָפַל פַּחְדָּם עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ samach mitzrayim betzetam ki-nafal pachedam aleihemEgypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen upon them. לט39 פָּרַשׂ עָנָן לְמָסָךְ וְאֵשׁ לְהָאִיר לָֽיְלָה׃ paras anan lemasakh veesh lehair laylahHe spread a cloud for a screen; and fire to give light in the night. מ40 שָׁאַל וַיָּבֵא שְׂלָו וְלֶחֶם שָׁמַיִם יַשְׂבִּיעֵֽם׃ shaal vayave selav velechem shamayim yasbiyemThey asked, and He brought quails, and gave them in plenty the bread of heaven. מא41 פָּתַח צוּר וַיָּזוּבוּ מָיִם הָלְכוּ בַּצִּיּוֹת נָהָֽר׃ patach tzur vayazuvu mayim halkhu batziyot naharHe opened the rock, and waters gushed out; they ran, a river in the dry places. מב42 כִּֽי־זָכַר אֶת־דְּבַר קָדְשׁוֹ אֶֽת־אַבְרָהָם עַבְדּֽוֹ׃ ki-zakhar et-devar kadsho et-avraham avdoFor He remembered His holy word unto Abraham His servant; מג43 וַיּוֹצִא עַמּוֹ בְשָׂשׂוֹן בְּרִנָּה אֶת־בְּחִירָֽיו׃ vayotzi amo vesason berinah et-bechirayvAnd He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with singing. מד44 וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם אַרְצוֹת גּוֹיִם וַעֲמַל לְאֻמִּים יִירָֽשׁוּ׃ vayiten lahem artzot goyim vaamal leumim yirashuAnd He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took the labour of the peoples in possession; מה45 בַּעֲבוּר ׀ יִשְׁמְרוּ חֻקָּיו וְתוֹרֹתָיו יִנְצֹרוּ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ baavur ׀ yishmru chukayv vetorotayv yintzoru hallu-yahThat they might keep His statutes, and observe His laws. O give thanks unto HaShem; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever. ב2 מִי יְמַלֵּל גְּבוּרוֹת יְיָ יַשְׁמִיעַ כָּל־תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃ mi yemalel gevurot Adonai yashmiya kal-tehilatoWho can express the mighty acts of HaShem, or make all His praise to be heard? ג3 אַשְׁרֵי שֹׁמְרֵי מִשְׁפָּט עֹשֵׂה צְדָקָה בְכָל־עֵֽת׃ ashrei shomrei mishpat oseh tzedakah vekhal-etHappy are they that keep justice, that do righteousness at all times. ד4 זָכְרֵנִי יְיָ בִּרְצוֹן עַמֶּךָ פָּקְדֵנִי בִּישׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃ zakhreni Adonai biretzon amekha pakedeni bishuatekhaRemember me, O HaShem, when Thou favourest Thy people; O think of me at Thy salvation; ה5 לִרְאוֹת ׀ בְּטוֹבַת בְּחִירֶיךָ לִשְׂמֹחַ בְּשִׂמְחַת גּוֹיֶךָ לְהִתְהַלֵּל עִם־נַחֲלָתֶֽךָ׃ lirot ׀ betovat bechireikha lismocha besimchat goyekha lehithalel im-nachalatekhaThat I may behold the prosperity of Thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Thy nation, that I may glory with Thine inheritance. ו6 חָטָאנוּ עִם־אֲבוֹתֵינוּ הֶעֱוִינוּ הִרְשָֽׁעְנוּ׃ chatanu im-avoteinu heevinu hirshanuWe have sinned with our fathers, we have done iniquitously, we have dealt wickedly. ז7 אֲבוֹתֵינוּ בְמִצְרַיִם ׀ לֹא־הִשְׂכִּילוּ נִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ לֹא זָכְרוּ אֶת־רֹב חֲסָדֶיךָ וַיַּמְרוּ עַל־יָם בְּיַם־סֽוּף׃ avoteinu vemitzrayim ׀ lo-hiskilu nifloteikha lo zakhru et-rov chasadeikha vayameru al-yam beyam-sufOur fathers in Egypt gave no heed unto Thy wonders; they remembered not the multitude of Thy mercies; but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea. ח8 וַֽיּוֹשִׁיעֵם לְמַעַן שְׁמוֹ לְהוֹדִיעַ אֶת־גְּבוּרָתֽוֹ׃ vayoshiyem lemaan shemo lehodiya et-gevuratoNevertheless He saved them for His name's sake, that He might make His mighty power to be known. ט9 וַיִּגְעַר בְּיַם־סוּף וַֽיֶּחֱרָב וַיּוֹלִיכֵם בַּתְּהֹמוֹת כַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ vayigear beyam-suf vayecherav vayolikhem batehomot kamidebarAnd He rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up; and He led them through the depths, as through a wilderness. י10 וַֽיּוֹשִׁיעֵם מִיַּד שׂוֹנֵא וַיִּגְאָלֵם מִיַּד אוֹיֵֽב׃ vayoshiyem miyad sone vayigealem miyad oyevAnd He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. יא11 וַיְכַסּוּ־מַיִם צָרֵיהֶם אֶחָד מֵהֶם לֹא נוֹתָֽר׃ vaykhasu-mayim tzareihem echad mehem lo notarAnd the waters covered their adversaries; there was not one of them left. יב12 וַיַּאֲמִינוּ בִדְבָרָיו יָשִׁירוּ תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃ vayaaminu vidvarayv yashiru tehilatoThen believed they His words; they sang His praise. יג13 מִֽהֲרוּ שָׁכְחוּ מַעֲשָׂיו לֹֽא־חִכּוּ לַעֲצָתֽוֹ׃ miharu shakhchu maasayv lo-chiku laatzatoThey soon forgot His works; they waited not for His counsel; יד14 וַיִּתְאַוּוּ תַאֲוָה בַּמִּדְבָּר וַיְנַסּוּ־אֵל בִּֽישִׁימֽוֹן׃ vayiteauu taavah bamidebar vaynasu-el bishimonBut lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tried G-d in the desert. טו15 וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם שֶׁאֱלָתָם וַיְשַׁלַּח רָזוֹן בְּנַפְשָֽׁם׃ vayiten lahem sheelatam vayshalach razon benafshamAnd He gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. טז16 וַיְקַנְאוּ לְמֹשֶׁה בַּֽמַּחֲנֶה לְאַהֲרֹן קְדוֹשׁ יְהוָֽה׃ vaykanu lemosheh bamachaneh leaharon kedosh AdonaiThey were jealous also of Moses in the camp, and of Aaron the holy one of HaShem. יז17 תִּפְתַּח־אֶרֶץ וַתִּבְלַע דָּתָן וַתְּכַס עַל־עֲדַת אֲבִירָֽם׃ tifetach-eretz vativela datan vatkhas al-adat aviramThe earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. יח18 וַתִּבְעַר־אֵשׁ בַּעֲדָתָם לֶהָבָה תְּלַהֵט רְשָׁעִֽים׃ vativear-esh baadatam lehavah telahet reshaimAnd a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. יט19 יַעֲשׂוּ־עֵגֶל בְּחֹרֵב וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְמַסֵּכָֽה׃ yaasu-egel bechorev vayishetachavu lemasekhahThey made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped a molten image. כ20 וַיָּמִירוּ אֶת־כְּבוֹדָם בְּתַבְנִית שׁוֹר אֹכֵל עֵֽשֶׂב׃ vayamiru et-kevodam betavnit shor okhel esevThus they exchanged their glory for the likeness of an ox that eateth grass. כא21 שָׁכְחוּ אֵל מוֹשִׁיעָם עֹשֶׂה גְדֹלוֹת בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃ shakhchu el moshiyam oseh gedolot bemitzrayimThey forgot G-d their saviour, who had done great things in Egypt; כב22 נִפְלָאוֹת בְּאֶרֶץ חָם נוֹרָאוֹת עַל־יַם־סֽוּף׃ niflaot beeretz cham noraot al-yam-sufWondrous works in the land of Ham, terrible things by the Red Sea. כג23 וַיֹּאמֶר לְֽהַשְׁמִידָם לוּלֵי מֹשֶׁה בְחִירוֹ עָמַד בַּפֶּרֶץ לְפָנָיו לְהָשִׁיב חֲמָתוֹ מֵֽהַשְׁחִֽית׃ vayomer lehashmidam lulei mosheh vechiro amad baperetz lefanayv lehashiv chamato mehashchitTherefore He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses His chosen stood before Him in the breach, to turn back His wrath, lest He should destroy them. כד24 וַֽיִּמְאֲסוּ בְּאֶרֶץ חֶמְדָּה לֹֽא־הֶאֱמִינוּ לִדְבָרֽוֹ׃ vayimeasu beeretz chemdah lo-heeminu lidvaroMoreover, they scorned the desirable land, they believed not His word; כה25 וַיֵּרָגְנוּ בְאָהֳלֵיהֶם לֹא שָׁמְעוּ בְּקוֹל יְהוָֽה׃ vayeragnu veaholeihem lo shamu bekol AdonaiAnd they murmured in their tents, they hearkened not unto the voice of HaShem. כו26 וַיִּשָּׂא יָדוֹ לָהֶם לְהַפִּיל אוֹתָם בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ vayisa yado lahem lehapil otam bamidebarTherefore He swore concerning them, that He would overthrow them in the wilderness; כז27 וּלְהַפִּיל זַרְעָם בַּגּוֹיִם וּלְזָרוֹתָם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ ulhapil zaram bagoyim ulzarotam baaratzotAnd that He would cast out their seed among the nations, and scatter them in the lands. כח28 וַיִּצָּמְדוּ לְבַעַל פְּעוֹר וַיֹּאכְלוּ זִבְחֵי מֵתִֽים׃ vayitzamedu levaal peor vayokhlu zivchei metimThey joined themselves also unto Baal of Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. כט29 וַיַּכְעִיסוּ בְּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶם וַתִּפְרָץ־בָּם מַגֵּפָֽה׃ vayakheisu bemaalleihem vatiferatz-bam magefahThus they provoked Him with their doings, and the plague broke in upon them. ל30 וַיַּעֲמֹד פִּֽינְחָס וַיְפַלֵּל וַתֵּעָצַר הַמַּגֵּפָֽה׃ vayaamod pinchas vayfalel vateatzar hamagefahThen stood up Phinehas, and wrought judgment, and so the plague was stayed. לא31 וַתֵּחָשֶׁב לוֹ לִצְדָקָה לְדֹר וָדֹר עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ vatechashev lo litzdakah ledor vador ad-olamAnd that was counted unto him for righteousness, unto all generations for ever. לב32 וַיַּקְצִיפוּ עַל־מֵי מְרִיבָה וַיֵּרַע לְמֹשֶׁה בַּעֲבוּרָֽם׃ vayaketzifu al-mei merivah vayera lemosheh baavuramThey angered Him also at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses because of them; לג33 כִּֽי־הִמְרוּ אֶת־רוּחוֹ וַיְבַטֵּא בִּשְׂפָתָֽיו׃ ki-himru et-rucho vayvate bisefatayvFor they embittered his spirit, and he spoke rashly with his lips. לד34 לֹֽא־הִשְׁמִידוּ אֶת־הָֽעַמִּים אֲשֶׁר אָמַר יְיָ לָהֶֽם׃ lo-hishmidu et-haamim asher amar Adonai lahemThey did not destroy the peoples, as HaShem commanded them; לה35 וַיִּתְעָרְבוּ בַגּוֹיִם וַֽיִּלְמְדוּ מַֽעֲשֵׂיהֶֽם׃ vayitearvu vagoyim vayilemdu maaseihemBut mingled themselves with the nations, and learned their works; לו36 וַיַּעַבְדוּ אֶת־עֲצַבֵּיהֶם וַיִּהְיוּ לָהֶם לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃ vayaavdu et-atzabeihem vayiheyu lahem lemokeshAnd they served their idols, which became a snare unto them; לז37 וַיִּזְבְּחוּ אֶת־בְּנֵיהֶם וְאֶת־בְּנֽוֹתֵיהֶם לַשֵּֽׁדִים׃ vayizebchu et-beneihem veet-benoteihem lashedimYea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons, לח38 וַיִּֽשְׁפְּכוּ דָם נָקִי דַּם־בְּנֵיהֶם וּֽבְנוֹתֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר זִבְּחוּ לַעֲצַבֵּי כְנָעַן וַתֶּחֱנַף הָאָרֶץ בַּדָּמִֽים׃ vayishepkhu dam naki dam-beneihem uvnoteihem asher zibchu laatzabei khenaan vatechenaf haaretz badamimAnd shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with blood. לט39 וַיִּטְמְאוּ בְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶם וַיִּזְנוּ בְּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ vayitemu vemaaseihem vayizenu bemaalleihemThus were they defiled with their works, and went astray in their doings. מ40 וַיִּֽחַר־אַף יְיָ בְּעַמּוֹ וַיְתָעֵב אֶת־נַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃ vayichar-af Adonai beamo vaytaev et-nachalatoTherefore was the wrath of HaShem kindled against His people, and He abhorred His inheritance. מא41 וַיִּתְּנֵם בְּיַד־גּוֹיִם וַֽיִּמְשְׁלוּ בָהֶם שֹׂנְאֵיהֶֽם׃ vayitenem beyad-goyim vayimeshlu vahem soneihemAnd He gave them into the hand of the nations; and they that hated them ruled over them. מב42 וַיִּלְחָצוּם אוֹיְבֵיהֶם וַיִּכָּנְעוּ תַּחַת יָדָֽם׃ vayilechatzum oyveihem vayikaneu tachat yadamTheir enemies also oppressed them, and they were subdued under their hand. מג43 פְּעָמִים רַבּוֹת יַצִּילֵם וְהֵמָּה יַמְרוּ בַעֲצָתָם וַיָּמֹכּוּ בַּעֲוֺנָֽם׃ peamim rabot yatzilem vehemah yamru vaatzatam vayamoku baaonamMany times did He deliver them; but they were rebellious in their counsel, and sank low through their iniquity. מד44 וַיַּרְא בַּצַּר לָהֶם בְּשָׁמְעוֹ אֶת־רִנָּתָֽם׃ vayare batzar lahem beshamo et-rinatamNevertheless He looked upon their distress, when He heard their cry; מה45 וַיִּזְכֹּר לָהֶם בְּרִיתוֹ וַיִּנָּחֵם כְּרֹב חסדו׃ vayizekor lahem berito vayinachem kerov chsdvAnd He remembered for them His covenant, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies. מו46 וַיִּתֵּן אוֹתָם לְרַחֲמִים לִפְנֵי כָּל־שׁוֹבֵיהֶֽם׃ vayiten otam lerachamim lifnei kal-shoveihemHe made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captive. מז47 הוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ ׀ יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְקַבְּצֵנוּ מִֽן־הַגּוֹיִם לְהֹדוֹת לְשֵׁם קָדְשֶׁךָ לְהִשְׁתַּבֵּחַ בִּתְהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ hoshiyenu ׀ Adonai eloheinu vekabtzenu min-hagoyim lehodot leshem kadshekha lehishtabecha bitehilatekhaSave us, O HaShem our G-d, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks unto Thy holy name, that we may triumph in Thy praise. מח48 בָּרוּךְ־יְיָ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִן־הָעוֹלָם ׀ וְעַד הָעוֹלָם וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ barukh-Adonai Elohei yisrael min-haolam ׀ vead haolam veamar kal-haam amen hallu-yahBlessed be HaShem, the G-d of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting, and let all the people say: 'Amen.'
