A Psalm of David. ב2 חַלְּצֵנִי יְהוָה מֵאָדָם רָע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵֽנִי׃ chaltzeni Adonai meadam ra meish chamasim tinetzreniDeliver me, O HaShem, from the evil man; preserve me from the violent man; ג3 אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ רָעוֹת בְּלֵב כָּל־יוֹם יָגוּרוּ מִלְחָמֽוֹת׃ asher chashvu raot belev kal-yom yaguru milchamotWho devise evil things in their heart; every day do they stir up wars. ד4 שָֽׁנֲנוּ לְשׁוֹנָם כְּֽמוֹ־נָחָשׁ חֲמַת עַכְשׁוּב תַּחַת שְׂפָתֵימוֹ סֶֽלָה׃ shananu leshonam kemo-nachash chamat akhshuv tachat sefateimo selahThey have sharpened their tongue like a serpent; vipers' venom is under their lips. Selah ה5 שָׁמְרֵנִי יְהוָה ׀ מִידֵי רָשָׁע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ לִדְחוֹת פְּעָמָֽי׃ shamreni Adonai ׀ midei rasha meish chamasim tinetzreni asher chashvu lidchot peamayKeep me, O HaShem, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to make my steps slip. ו6 טָֽמְנֽוּ־גֵאִים ׀ פַּח לִי וַחֲבָלִים פָּרְשׂוּ רֶשֶׁת לְיַד־מַעְגָּל מֹקְשִׁים שָֽׁתוּ־לִי סֶֽלָה׃ tamnu-geim ׀ pach li vachavalim paresu reshet leyad-magal mokshim shatu-li selahThe proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah ז7 אָמַרְתִּי לַיהוָה אֵלִי אָתָּה הַאֲזִינָה יְהוָה קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃ amarti layhvah eli atah haazinah Adonai kol tachanunayI have said unto HaShem: 'Thou art my G-d'; give ear, O HaShem, unto the voice of my supplications. ח8 (יְהֹוִה) אֱלֹהִים אֲדֹנָי עֹז יְשׁוּעָתִי סַכֹּתָה לְרֹאשִׁי בְּיוֹם נָֽשֶׁק׃ Adonai Adonai oz yeshuati sakotah leroshi beyom nashekO GOD the L-rd, the strength of my salvation, who hast screened my head in the day of battle, ט9 אַל־תִּתֵּן יְהוָה מַאֲוַיֵּי רָשָׁע זְמָמוֹ אַל־תָּפֵק יָרוּמוּ סֶֽלָה׃ al-titen Adonai maavayei rasha zemamo al-tafek yarumu selahGrant not, O HaShem, the desires of the wicked; further not his evil device, so that they exalt themselves. Selah י10 רֹאשׁ מְסִבָּי עֲמַל שְׂפָתֵימוֹ יְכַסֵּימוֹ׃ rosh mesibay amal sefateimo ykhsvmvAs for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. יא11 יִמּוֹטוּ עֲלֵיהֶם גֶּֽחָלִים בָּאֵשׁ יַפִּלֵם בְּמַהֲמֹרוֹת בַּֽל־יָקֽוּמוּ׃ ymytv aleihem gechalim baesh yapilem bemahamorot bal-yakumuLet burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, that they rise not up again. יב12 אִישׁ לָשׁוֹן בַּל־יִכּוֹן בָּאָרֶץ אִישׁ־חָמָס רָע יְצוּדֶנּוּ לְמַדְחֵפֹֽת׃ ish lashon bal-yikon baaretz ish-chamas ra yetzudenu lemadchefotA slanderer shall not be established in the earth; the violent and evil man shall be hunted with thrust upon thrust. יג13 יָדַעְתִּי כִּֽי־יַעֲשֶׂה יְהוָה דִּין עָנִי מִשְׁפַּט אֶבְיֹנִֽים׃ ydt ki-yaaseh Adonai din ani mishpat evyonimI know that HaShem will maintain the cause of the poor, and the right of the needy. יד14 אַךְ צַדִּיקִים יוֹדוּ לִשְׁמֶךָ יֵשְׁבוּ יְשָׁרִים אֶת־פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ akh tzadikim yodu lishmekha yeshvu yesharim et-paneikhaSurely the righteous shall give thanks unto Thy name; the upright shall dwell in Thy presence.
פרק קמ״אPsalm 141
א1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהוָה קְרָאתִיךָ חוּשָׁה לִּי הַאֲזִינָה קוֹלִי בְּקָרְאִי־לָֽךְ׃ mizmor ledavid Adonai keratikha chushah li haazinah koli bekari-lakhA Psalm of David. HaShem, I have called Thee; make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I call unto Thee. ב2 תִּכּוֹן תְּפִלָּתִי קְטֹרֶת לְפָנֶיךָ מַֽשְׂאַת כַּפַּי מִנְחַת־עָֽרֶב׃ tikon tefilati ketoret lefaneikha masat kapay minchat-arevLet my prayer be set forth as incense before Thee, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. ג3 שִׁיתָה יְהוָה שָׁמְרָה לְפִי נִצְּרָה עַל־דַּל שְׂפָתָֽי׃ shitah Adonai shamrah lefi nitzrah al-dal sefataySet a guard, O HaShem, to my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips. ד4 אַל־תַּט־לִבִּי לְדָבָר ׀ רָע לְהִתְעוֹלֵל עֲלִלוֹת ׀ בְּרֶשַׁע אֶת־אִישִׁים פֹּֽעֲלֵי־אָוֶן וּבַל־אֶלְחַם בְּמַנְעַמֵּיהֶֽם׃ al-tat-libi ledavar ׀ ra lehitolel alilot ׀ beresha et-ishim poalei-aven uval-elcham bemanameihemIncline not my heart to any evil thing, to be occupied in deeds of wickedness with men that work iniquity; and let me not eat of their dainties. ה5 יֶֽהֶלְמֵֽנִי־צַדִּיק ׀ חֶסֶד וְֽיוֹכִיחֵנִי שֶׁמֶן רֹאשׁ אַל־יָנִי רֹאשִׁי כִּי־עוֹד וּתְפִלָּתִי בְּרָעוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ yehelmeni-tzadik ׀ chesed veyokhicheni shemen rosh al-yani roshi ki-od utfilati beraoteihemLet the righteous smite me in kindness, and correct me; oil so choice let not my head refuse; for still is my prayer because of their wickedness. ו6 נִשְׁמְטוּ בִֽידֵי־סֶלַע שֹׁפְטֵיהֶם וְשָׁמְעוּ אֲמָרַי כִּי נָעֵֽמוּ׃ nishmtu videi-sela shofteihem veshamu amaray ki naemuTheir judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock; and they shall hear my words, that they are sweet. ז7 כְּמוֹ פֹלֵחַ וּבֹקֵעַ בָּאָרֶץ נִפְזְרוּ עֲצָמֵינוּ לְפִי שְׁאֽוֹל׃ kemo folecha uvokea baaretz nifzru atzameinu lefi sheolAs when one cleaveth and breaketh up the earth, our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth. ח8 כִּי אֵלֶיךָ ׀ (יְהֹוִה) אֱלֹהִים אֲדֹנָי עֵינָי בְּכָה חָסִיתִי אַל־תְּעַר נַפְשִֽׁי׃ ki eleikha ׀ Adonai Adonai einay bekhah chasiti al-tear nafshiFor mine eyes are unto Thee, O GOD the L-rd; in Thee have I taken refuge, O pour not out my soul. ט9 שָׁמְרֵנִי מִידֵי פַח יָקְשׁוּ לִי וּמֹקְשׁוֹת פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ shamreni midei fach yakshu li umokshot poalei avenKeep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and from the gins of the workers of iniquity. י10 יִפְּלוּ בְמַכְמֹרָיו רְשָׁעִים יַחַד אָנֹכִי עַֽד־אֶעֱבֽוֹר׃ yiplu vemakhmorayv reshaim yachad anokhi ad-eevorLet the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst I withal escape.

א1 מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִד בִּהְיוֹתוֹ בַמְּעָרָה תְפִלָּֽה׃ maskil ledavid biheyoto vamarah tefilahMaschil of David, when he was in the cave; a Prayer. ב2 קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהוָה אֶזְעָק קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהוָה אֶתְחַנָּֽן׃ koli el-Adonai ezak koli el-Adonai etchananWith my voice I cry unto HaShem; with my voice I make supplication unto HaShem. ג3 אֶשְׁפֹּךְ לְפָנָיו שִׂיחִי צָרָתִי לְפָנָיו אַגִּֽיד׃ eshpokhe lefanayv sichi tzarati lefanayv agidI pour out my complaint before Him, I declare before Him my trouble; ד4 בְּהִתְעַטֵּף עָלַי ׀ רוּחִי וְאַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ נְֽתִיבָתִי בְּאֹֽרַח־זוּ אֲהַלֵּךְ טָמְנוּ פַח לִֽי׃ behitatef alay ׀ ruchi veatah yadata netivati beorach-zu ahalekhe tamnu fach liWhen my spirit fainteth within me--Thou knowest my path--in the way wherein I walk have they hidden a snare for me. ה5 הַבֵּיט יָמִין ׀ וּרְאֵה וְאֵֽין־לִי מַכִּיר אָבַד מָנוֹס מִמֶּנִּי אֵין דּוֹרֵשׁ לְנַפְשִֽׁי׃ habeit yamin ׀ ureh veein-li makir avad manos mimeni ein doresh lenafshiLook on my right hand, and see, for there is no man that knoweth me; I have no way to flee; no man careth for my soul. ו6 זָעַקְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ יְהוָה אָמַרְתִּי אַתָּה מַחְסִי חֶלְקִי בְּאֶרֶץ הַֽחַיִּים׃ zaakti eleikha Adonai amarti atah machsi chelki beeretz hachayimI have cried unto Thee, O HaShem; I have said: 'Thou art my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.' ז7 הַקְשִׁיבָה ׀ אֶֽל־רִנָּתִי כִּֽי־דַלּוֹתִי מְאֹד הַצִּילֵנִי מֵרֹדְפַי כִּי אָמְצוּ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ hakshivah ׀ el-rinati ki-daloti meod hatzileni merodfay ki amtzu mimeniAttend unto my cry; for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors; for they are too strong for me. ח8 הוֹצִיאָה מִמַּסְגֵּר ׀ נַפְשִׁי לְהוֹדוֹת אֶת־שְׁמֶךָ בִּי יַכְתִּרוּ צַדִּיקִים כִּי תִגְמֹל עָלָֽי׃ hotziyah mimaseger ׀ nafshi lehodot et-shemekha bi yakhtiru tzadikim ki tigmol alayBring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks unto Thy name; the righteous shall crown themselves because of me; for Thou wilt deal bountifully with me.

א1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהוָה ׀ שְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה אֶל־תַּחֲנוּנַי בֶּאֱמֻנָתְךָ עֲנֵנִי בְּצִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ mizmor ledavid Adonai ׀ shema tefilati haazinah el-tachanunay beemunatkha aneni betzidkatekhaA Psalm of David. O HaShem, hear my prayer, give ear to my supplications; in Thy faithfulness answer me, and in Thy righteousness. ב2 וְאַל־תָּבוֹא בְמִשְׁפָּט אֶת־עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי לֹֽא־יִצְדַּק לְפָנֶיךָ כָל־חָֽי׃ veal-tavo vemishpat et-avdekha ki lo-yitzdak lefaneikha khal-chayAnd enter not into judgment with Thy servant; for in Thy sight shall no man living be justified. ג3 כִּי רָדַף אוֹיֵב ׀ נַפְשִׁי דִּכָּא לָאָרֶץ חַיָּתִי הוֹשִׁיבַנִי בְמַחֲשַׁכִּים כְּמֵתֵי עוֹלָֽם׃ ki radaf oyev ׀ nafshi dika laaretz chayati hoshivani vemachashakim kemetei olamFor the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath crushed my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. ד4 וַתִּתְעַטֵּף עָלַי רוּחִי בְּתוֹכִי יִשְׁתּוֹמֵם לִבִּֽי׃ vatiteatef alay ruchi betokhi yishtomem libiAnd my spirit fainteth within me; my heart within me is appalled. ה5 זָכַרְתִּי יָמִים ׀ מִקֶּדֶם הָגִיתִי בְכָל־פָּעֳלֶךָ בְּֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ אֲשׂוֹחֵֽחַ׃ zakharti yamim ׀ mikedem hagiti vekhal-paolekha bemaaseh yadeikha asochechaI remember the days of old; I meditate on all Thy doing; I muse on the work of Thy hands. ו6 פֵּרַשְׂתִּי יָדַי אֵלֶיךָ נַפְשִׁי ׀ כְּאֶֽרֶץ־עֲיֵפָה לְךָ סֶֽלָה׃ perasti yaday eleikha nafshi ׀ keeretz-ayefah lekha selahI spread forth my hands unto Thee; my soul thirsteth after Thee, as a weary land. Selah ז7 מַהֵר עֲנֵנִי ׀ יְהוָה כָּלְתָה רוּחִי אַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי וְנִמְשַׁלְתִּי עִם־יֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃ maher aneni ׀ Adonai kaletah ruchi al-taseter paneikha mimeni venimshalti im-yordei vorAnswer me speedily, O HaShem, my spirit faileth; hide not Thy face from me; lest I become like them that go down into the pit. ח8 הַשְׁמִיעֵנִי בַבֹּקֶר ׀ חַסְדֶּךָ כִּֽי־בְךָ בָטָחְתִּי הוֹדִיעֵנִי דֶּֽרֶךְ־זוּ אֵלֵךְ כִּֽי־אֵלֶיךָ נָשָׂאתִי נַפְשִֽׁי׃ hashmiyeni vaboker ׀ chasdekha ki-vekha vatachti hodiyeni derekh-zu elekh ki-eleikha nasati nafshiCause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning, for in Thee do I trust; cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for unto Thee have I lifted up my soul. ט9 הַצִּילֵנִי מֵאֹיְבַי ׀ יְהוָה אֵלֶיךָ כִסִּֽתִי׃ hatzileni meoyvay ׀ Adonai eleikha khisitiDeliver me from mine enemies, O HaShem; with Thee have I hidden myself. י10 לַמְּדֵנִי ׀ לַֽעֲשׂוֹת רְצוֹנֶךָ כִּֽי־אַתָּה אֱלוֹהָי רוּחֲךָ טוֹבָה תַּנְחֵנִי בְּאֶרֶץ מִישֽׁוֹר׃ lamdeni ׀ laasot retzonekha ki-atah elohay ruchakha tovah tanecheni beeretz mishorTeach me to do Thy will, for Thou art my G-d; let Thy good spirit lead me in an even land. יא11 לְמַֽעַן־שִׁמְךָ יְהוָה תְּחַיֵּנִי בְּצִדְקָתְךָ ׀ תוֹצִיא מִצָּרָה נַפְשִֽׁי׃ lemaan-shimkha Adonai techayeni betzidkatkha ׀ totzi mitzarah nafshiFor Thy name's sake, O HaShem, quicken me; in Thy righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. יב12 וּֽבְחַסְדְּךָ תַּצְמִית אֹיְבָי וְֽהַאֲבַדְתָּ כָּל־צֹרֲרֵי נַפְשִׁי כִּי אֲנִי עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ uvchasdkha tatzemit oyvay vehaavadta kal-tzorarei nafshi ki ani avdekhaAnd in Thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that harass my soul; for I am Thy servant.

א1 לְדָוִד ׀ בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה ׀ צוּרִי הַֽמְלַמֵּד יָדַי לַקְרָב אֶצְבְּעוֹתַי לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ ledavid ׀ barukh Adonai ׀ tzuri hamlamed yaday lakrav etzbotay lamilechamahA Psalm of David. Blessed be HaShem my Rock, who traineth my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; ב2 חַסְדִּי וּמְצוּדָתִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי וּֽמְפַלְטִי לִי מָגִנִּי וּבוֹ חָסִיתִי הָרוֹדֵד עַמִּי תַחְתָּֽי׃ chasdi umtzudati misgabi umfalti li magini uvo chasiti haroded ami tachtayMy lovingkindness, and my fortress, my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and He in whom I take refuge; who subdueth my people under me. ג3 יְֽהוָה מָה־אָדָם וַתֵּדָעֵהוּ בֶּן־אֱנוֹשׁ וַֽתְּחַשְּׁבֵֽהוּ׃ Adonai mah-adam vatedaehu ben-enosh vatchashvehuHaShem, what is man, that Thou takest knowledge of him? or the son of man, that Thou makest account of him? ד4 אָדָם לַהֶבֶל דָּמָה יָמָיו כְּצֵל עוֹבֵֽר׃ adam lahevel damah yamayv ketzel overMan is like unto a breath; his days are as a shadow that passeth away. ה5 יְהוָה הַט־שָׁמֶיךָ וְתֵרֵד גַּע בֶּהָרִים וְֽיֶעֱשָֽׁנוּ׃ Adonai hat-shameikha vetered ga beharim veyeeshanuO HaShem, bow Thy heavens, and come down; touch the mountains, that they may smoke. ו6 בְּרוֹק בָּרָק וּתְפִיצֵם שְׁלַח חִצֶּיךָ וּתְהֻמֵּֽם׃ berok barak utfitzem shelach chitzeikha uthumemCast forth lightning, and scatter them; send out Thine arrows, and discomfit them. ז7 שְׁלַח יָדֶיךָ מִמָּרוֹם פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִמַּיִם רַבִּים מִיַּד בְּנֵי נֵכָֽר׃ shelach yadeikha mimarom petzeni vehatzileni mimayim rabim miyad benei nekharStretch forth Thy hands from on high; rescue me, and deliver me out of many waters, out of the hand of strangers; ח8 אֲשֶׁר פִּיהֶם דִּבֶּר־שָׁוְא וִֽימִינָם יְמִין שָֽׁקֶר׃ asher pihem diber-shav viminam yemin shakerWhose mouth speaketh falsehood, and their right hand is a right hand of lying. ט9 אֱֽלֹהִים שִׁיר חָדָשׁ אָשִׁירָה לָּךְ בְּנֵבֶל עָשׂוֹר אֲזַמְּרָה־לָּֽךְ׃ elohim shir chadash ashirah lakhe benevel asor azamrah-lakheO G-d, I will sing a new song unto Thee, upon a psaltery of ten strings will I sing praises unto Thee; י10 הַנּוֹתֵן תְּשׁוּעָה לַמְּלָכִים הַפּוֹצֶה אֶת־דָּוִד עַבְדּוֹ מֵחֶרֶב רָעָֽה׃ hanoten teshuah lamlakhim hapotzeh et-david avdo mecherev raahWho givest salvation unto kings, who rescuest David Thy servant from the hurtful sword. יא11 פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִיַּד בְּֽנֵי־נֵכָר אֲשֶׁר פִּיהֶם דִּבֶּר־שָׁוְא וִֽימִינָם יְמִין שָֽׁקֶר׃ petzeni vehatzileni miyad benei-nekhar asher pihem diber-shav viminam yemin shakerRescue me, and deliver me out of the hand of strangers, whose mouth speaketh falsehood, and their right hand is a right hand of lying. יב12 אֲשֶׁר בָּנֵינוּ ׀ כִּנְטִעִים מְגֻדָּלִים בִּֽנְעוּרֵיהֶם בְּנוֹתֵינוּ כְזָוִיֹּת מְחֻטָּבוֹת תַּבְנִית הֵיכָֽל׃ asher baneinu ׀ kinetiim megudalim bineureihem benoteinu khezaviyot mechutavot tavenit heikhalWe whose sons are as plants grown up in their youth; whose daughters are as corner-pillars carved after the fashion of a palace; יג13 מְזָוֵינוּ מְלֵאִים מְפִיקִים מִזַּן אֶל־זַן צֹאונֵנוּ מַאֲלִיפוֹת מְרֻבָּבוֹת בְּחוּצוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ mezaveinu meleim mefikim mizan el-zan tzovnenu maalifot merubavot bechutzoteinuWhose garners are full, affording all manner of store; whose sheep increase by thousands and ten thousands in our fields; יד14 אַלּוּפֵינוּ מְֽסֻבָּלִים אֵֽין־פֶּרֶץ וְאֵין יוֹצֵאת וְאֵין צְוָחָה בִּרְחֹבֹתֵֽינוּ׃ alufeinu mesubalim ein-peretz veein yotzet veein tzevachah birechovoteinuWhose oxen are well laden; with no breach, and no going forth, and no outcry in our broad places; טו15 אַשְׁרֵי הָעָם שֶׁכָּכָה לּוֹ אַֽשְׁרֵי הָעָם שֶׁיֲהוָה אֱלֹהָֽיו׃ ashrei haam shekakhah lo ashrei haam sheyahvah elohayvHappy is the people that is in such a case. Yea, happy is the people whose G-d is HaShem.

א1 תְּהִלָּה לְדָוִד אֲרוֹמִמְךָ אֱלוֹהַי הַמֶּלֶךְ וַאֲבָרֲכָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶֽד׃ tehilah ledavid aromimkha elohay hamelekh vaavarakhah shimkha leolam vaedA Psalm of praise; of David. I will extol Thee, my G-d, O King; and I will bless Thy name for ever and ever. ב2 בְּכָל־יוֹם אֲבָרֲכֶךָּ וַאֲהַלְלָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶֽד׃ bekhal-yom avarakheka vaahallah shimkha leolam vaedEvery day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name for ever and ever. ג3 גָּדוֹל יְהוָה וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד וְלִגְדֻלָּתוֹ אֵין חֵֽקֶר׃ gadol Adonai umhulal meod veligdulato ein chekerGreat is HaShem, and highly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. ד4 דּוֹר לְדוֹר יְשַׁבַּח מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וּגְבוּרֹתֶיךָ יַגִּֽידוּ׃ dor ledor yeshabach maaseikha ugvuroteikha yagiduOne generation shall laud Thy works to another, and shall declare Thy mighty acts. ה5 הֲדַר כְּבוֹד הוֹדֶךָ וְדִבְרֵי נִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ אָשִֽׂיחָה׃ hadar kevod hodekha vedivrei nifloteikha asichahThe glorious splendour of Thy majesty, and Thy wondrous works, will I rehearse. ו6 וֶעֱזוּז נוֹרְאֹתֶיךָ יֹאמֵרוּ וּגְדֻלָּתְךָ אֲסַפְּרֶֽנָּה׃ veezuz noroteikha yomeru vgdvltykh asaprenahAnd men shall speak of the might of Thy tremendous acts; and I will tell of Thy greatness. ז7 זֵכֶר רַב־טוּבְךָ יַבִּיעוּ וְצִדְקָתְךָ יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃ zekher rav-tuvkha yabiyu vetzidkatkha yeranenuThey shall utter the fame of Thy great goodness, and shall sing of Thy righteousness. ח8 חַנּוּן וְרַחוּם יְהוָה אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם וּגְדָל־חָֽסֶד׃ chanun verachum Adonai erekh apayim ugdal-chasedHaShem is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. ט9 טוֹב־יְהוָה לַכֹּל וְרַחֲמָיו עַל־כָּל־מַעֲשָֽׂיו׃ tov-Adonai lakol verachamayv al-kal-maasayvHaShem is good to all; and His tender mercies are over all His works. י10 יוֹדוּךָ יְהוָה כָּל־מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וַחֲסִידֶיךָ יְבָרֲכֽוּכָה׃ yodukha Adonai kal-maaseikha vachasideikha yevarakhukhahAll Thy works shall praise Thee, O HaShem; and Thy saints shall bless Thee. יא11 כְּבוֹד מַלְכוּתְךָ יֹאמֵרוּ וּגְבוּרָתְךָ יְדַבֵּֽרוּ׃ kevod malkhutkha yomeru ugvuratkha yedaberuThey shall speak of the glory of Thy kingdom, and talk of Thy might; יב12 לְהוֹדִיעַ ׀ לִבְנֵי הָאָדָם גְּבוּרֹתָיו וּכְבוֹד הֲדַר מַלְכוּתֽוֹ׃ lehodiya ׀ livnei haadam gevurotayv ukhvod hadar malkhutoTo make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, and the glory of the majesty of His kingdom. יג13 מַֽלְכוּתְךָ מַלְכוּת כָּל־עֹֽלָמִים וּמֶֽמְשֶׁלְתְּךָ בְּכָל־דּוֹר וָדֽוֹר׃ malkhutkha malkhut kal-olamim umemsheltkha bekhal-dor vadorThy kingdom is a kingdom for all ages, and Thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. יד14 סוֹמֵךְ יְהוָה לְכָל־הַנֹּפְלִים וְזוֹקֵף לְכָל־הַכְּפוּפִֽים׃ somekh Adonai lekhal-hanofelim vezokef lekhal-hakfufimHaShem upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that are bowed down. טו15 עֵֽינֵי־כֹל אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּ וְאַתָּה נֽוֹתֵן־לָהֶם אֶת־אָכְלָם בְּעִתּֽוֹ׃ einei-khol eleikha yesaberu veatah noten-lahem et-akhlam beitoThe eyes of all wait for Thee, and Thou givest them their food in due season. טז16 פּוֹתֵחַ אֶת־יָדֶךָ וּמַשְׂבִּיעַ לְכָל־חַי רָצֽוֹן׃ potecha et-yadekha umasbiya lekhal-chay ratzonThou openest Thy hand, and satisfiest every living thing with favour. יז17 צַדִּיק יְהוָה בְּכָל־דְּרָכָיו וְחָסִיד בְּכָל־מַעֲשָֽׂיו׃ tzadik Adonai bekhal-derakhayv vechasid bekhal-maasayvHaShem is righteous in all His ways, and gracious in all His works. יח18 קָרוֹב יְהוָה לְכָל־קֹרְאָיו לְכֹל אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָאֻהוּ בֶאֱמֶֽת׃ karov Adonai lekhal-korayv lekhol asher yikrauhu veemetHaShem is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. יט19 רְצוֹן־יְרֵאָיו יַעֲשֶׂה וְֽאֶת־שַׁוְעָתָם יִשְׁמַע וְיוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃ retzon-yereayv yaaseh veet-shavatam yishma veyoshiyemHe will fulfil the desire of them that fear Him; He also will hear their cry, and will save them. כ20 שׁוֹמֵר יְהוָה אֶת־כָּל־אֹהֲבָיו וְאֵת כָּל־הָרְשָׁעִים יַשְׁמִֽיד׃ shomer Adonai et-kal-ohavayv veet kal-harshaim yashmidHaShem preserveth all them that love Him; but all the wicked will He destroy. כא21 תְּהִלַּת יְהוָה יְֽדַבֶּר־פִּי וִיבָרֵךְ כָּל־בָּשָׂר שֵׁם קָדְשׁוֹ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶֽד׃ tehilat Adonai yedaber-pi vivarekh kal-basar shem kadsho leolam vaedMy mouth shall speak the praise of HaShem; and let all flesh bless His holy name for ever and ever.

א1 הַֽלְלוּ־יָהּ הַלְלִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ hallu-yah halli nafshi et-AdonaiHallelujah. Praise HaShem, O my soul. ב2 אֲהַלְלָה יְהוָה בְּחַיָּי אֲזַמְּרָה לֵֽאלֹהַי בְּעוֹדִֽי׃ ahallah Adonai bechayay azamrah lelohay beodiI will praise HaShem while I live; I will sing praises unto my G-d while I have my being. ג3 אַל־תִּבְטְחוּ בִנְדִיבִים בְּבֶן־אָדָם ׀ שֶׁאֵֽין לוֹ תְשׁוּעָֽה׃ al-tivetchu vindivim beven-adam ׀ sheein lo teshuahPut not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. ד4 תֵּצֵא רוּחוֹ יָשֻׁב לְאַדְמָתוֹ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא אָבְדוּ עֶשְׁתֹּנֹתָֽיו׃ tetze rucho yashuv leadmato bayom hahu avdu eshtonotayvHis breath goeth forth, he returneth to his dust; in that very day his thoughts perish. ה5 אַשְׁרֵי שֶׁאֵל יַעֲקֹב בְּעֶזְרוֹ שִׂבְרוֹ עַל־יְהוָה אֱלֹהָֽיו׃ ashrei sheel yaakov beezro sivro al-Adonai elohayvHappy is he whose help is the G-d of Jacob, whose hope is in HaShem his G-d, ו6 עֹשֶׂה ׀ שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ אֶת־הַיָּם וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּם הַשֹּׁמֵר אֱמֶת לְעוֹלָֽם׃ oseh ׀ shamayim vaaretz et-hayam veet-kal-asher-bam hashomer emet leolamWho made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is; who keepeth truth for ever; ז7 עֹשֶׂה מִשְׁפָּט ׀ לָעֲשׁוּקִים נֹתֵן לֶחֶם לָרְעֵבִים יְהוָה מַתִּיר אֲסוּרִֽים׃ oseh mishpat ׀ laashukim noten lechem larevim Adonai matir asurimWho executeth justice for the oppressed; who giveth bread to the hungry. HaShem looseth the prisoners; ח8 יְהוָה ׀ פֹּקֵחַ עִוְרִים יְהוָה זֹקֵף כְּפוּפִים יְהוָה אֹהֵב צַדִּיקִֽים׃ Adonai ׀ pokecha ivrim Adonai zokef kefufim Adonai ohev tzadikimHaShem openeth the eyes of the blind; HaShem raiseth up them that are bowed down; HaShem loveth the righteous; ט9 יְהוָה ׀ שֹׁמֵר אֶת־גֵּרִים יָתוֹם וְאַלְמָנָה יְעוֹדֵד וְדֶרֶךְ רְשָׁעִים יְעַוֵּֽת׃ Adonai ׀ shomer et-gerim yatom vealmanah yeoded vederekh reshaim yeavetHaShem preserveth the strangers; He upholdeth the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked He maketh crooked. י10 יִמְלֹךְ יְהוָה ׀ לְעוֹלָם אֱלֹהַיִךְ צִיּוֹן לְדֹר וָדֹר הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ yimlokh Adonai ׀ leolam elohayikh tziyon ledor vador hallu-yahHaShem will reign for ever, Thy G-d, O Zion, unto all generations. א1 הַלְלוּ יָהּ ׀ כִּי־טוֹב זַמְּרָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ כִּֽי־נָעִים נָאוָה תְהִלָּֽה׃ hallu yah ׀ ki-tov zamrah eloheinu ki-naim navah tehilahHallelujah; for it is good to sing praises unto our G-d; for it is pleasant, and praise is comely. ב2 בּוֹנֵה יְרוּשָׁלִַם יְהוָה נִדְחֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יְכַנֵּֽס׃ boneh yerushalaim Adonai nidchei yisrael yekhanesHaShem doth build up Jerusalem, He gathereth together the dispersed of Israel; ג3 הָרֹפֵא לִשְׁבוּרֵי לֵב וּמְחַבֵּשׁ לְעַצְּבוֹתָֽם׃ harofe lishvurei lev umchabesh leatzvotamWho healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. ד4 מוֹנֶה מִסְפָּר לַכּוֹכָבִים לְכֻלָּם שֵׁמוֹת יִקְרָֽא׃ moneh mispar lakokhavim lekhulam shemot yikraHe counteth the number of the stars; He giveth them all their names. ה5 גָּדוֹל אֲדוֹנֵינוּ וְרַב־כֹּחַ לִתְבוּנָתוֹ אֵין מִסְפָּֽר׃ gadol adoneinu verav-kocha litvunato ein misparGreat is our L-rd, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. ו6 מְעוֹדֵד עֲנָוִים יְהוָה מַשְׁפִּיל רְשָׁעִים עֲדֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ meoded anavim Adonai mashpil reshaim adei-aretzHaShem upholdeth the humble; He bringeth the wicked down to the ground. ז7 עֱנוּ לַיהוָה בְּתוֹדָה זַמְּרוּ לֵאלֹהֵינוּ בְכִנּֽוֹר׃ enu layhvah betodah zamru leloheinu vekhinorSing unto HaShem with thanksgiving, sing praises upon the harp unto our G-d; ח8 הַֽמְכַסֶּה שָׁמַיִם ׀ בְּעָבִים הַמֵּכִין לָאָרֶץ מָטָר הַמַּצְמִיחַ הָרִים חָצִֽיר׃ hamkhaseh shamayim ׀ beavim hamekhin laaretz matar hamatzemicha harim chatzirWho covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh the mountains to spring with grass. ט9 נוֹתֵן לִבְהֵמָה לַחְמָהּ לִבְנֵי עֹרֵב אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָֽאוּ׃ noten livhemah lachmah livnei orev asher yikrauHe giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry. י10 לֹא בִגְבוּרַת הַסּוּס יֶחְפָּץ לֹֽא־בְשׁוֹקֵי הָאִישׁ יִרְצֶֽה׃ lo vigvurat hasus yechpatz lo-veshokei haish yirtzehHe delighteth not in the strength of the horse; He taketh no pleasure in the legs of a man. יא11 רוֹצֶה יְהוָה אֶת־יְרֵאָיו אֶת־הַֽמְיַחֲלִים לְחַסְדּֽוֹ׃ rotzeh Adonai et-yereayv et-hamyachalim lechasdoHaShem taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that wait for His mercy. יב12 שַׁבְּחִי יְרוּשָׁלִַם אֶת־יְהוָה הַֽלְלִי אֱלֹהַיִךְ צִיּֽוֹן׃ shabchi yerushalaim et-Adonai halli elohayikh tziyonGlorify HaShem, O Jerusalem; praise thy G-d, O Zion. יג13 כִּֽי־חִזַּק בְּרִיחֵי שְׁעָרָיִךְ בֵּרַךְ בָּנַיִךְ בְּקִרְבֵּֽךְ׃ ki-chizak berichei shearayikh berakh banayikh bekirbekheFor He hath made strong the bars of thy gates; He hath blessed thy children within thee. יד14 הַשָּׂם־גְּבוּלֵךְ שָׁלוֹם חֵלֶב חִטִּים יַשְׂבִּיעֵֽךְ׃ hasam-gevulekh shalom chelev chitim yasbiyekhHe maketh thy borders peace; He giveth thee in plenty the fat of wheat. טו15 הַשֹּׁלֵחַ אִמְרָתוֹ אָרֶץ עַד־מְהֵרָה יָרוּץ דְּבָרֽוֹ׃ hasholecha imrato aretz ad-meherah yarutz devaroHe sendeth out His commandment upon earth; His word runneth very swiftly. טז16 הַנֹּתֵן שֶׁלֶג כַּצָּמֶר כְּפוֹר כָּאֵפֶר יְפַזֵּֽר׃ hanoten sheleg katzamer kefor kaefer yefazerHe giveth snow like wool; He scattereth the hoar-frost like ashes. יז17 מַשְׁלִיךְ קַֽרְחוֹ כְפִתִּים לִפְנֵי קָרָתוֹ מִי יַעֲמֹֽד׃ mashlikh karcho khefitim lifnei karato mi yaamodHe casteth forth His ice like crumbs; who can stand before His cold? יח18 יִשְׁלַח דְּבָרוֹ וְיַמְסֵם יַשֵּׁב רוּחוֹ יִזְּלוּ־מָֽיִם׃ yishlach devaro veyamsem yashev rucho yizlu-mayimHe sendeth forth His word, and melteth them; He causeth His wind to blow, and the waters flow. יט19 מַגִּיד דְּבָרָו לְיַעֲקֹב חֻקָּיו וּמִשְׁפָּטָיו לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ magid dvrv leyaakov chukayv umishpatayv leyisraelHe declareth His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances unto Israel. כ20 לֹא עָשָׂה כֵן ׀ לְכָל־גּוֹי וּמִשְׁפָּטִים בַּל־יְדָעוּם הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ lo asah khen ׀ lekhal-goy umishpatim bal-yedaum hallu-yahHe hath not dealt so with any nation; and as for His ordinances, they have not known them. א1 הַלְלוּ יָהּ ׀ שִׁירוּ לַֽיהוָה שִׁיר חָדָשׁ תְּהִלָּתוֹ בִּקְהַל חֲסִידִֽים׃ hallu yah ׀ shiru layhvah shir chadash tehilato bikehal chasidimHallelujah. Sing unto HaShem a new song, and His praise in the assembly of the saints. ב2 יִשְׂמַח יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּעֹשָׂיו בְּנֵֽי־צִיּוֹן יָגִילוּ בְמַלְכָּֽם׃ yismach yisrael beosayv benei-tziyon yagilu vemalkamLet Israel rejoice in his Maker; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. ג3 יְהַֽלְלוּ שְׁמוֹ בְמָחוֹל בְּתֹף וְכִנּוֹר יְזַמְּרוּ־לֽוֹ׃ yehallu shemo vemachol betof vekhinor yezamru-loLet them praise His name in the dance; let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and harp. ד4 כִּֽי־רוֹצֶה יְהוָה בְּעַמּוֹ יְפָאֵר עֲנָוִים בִּישׁוּעָֽה׃ ki-rotzeh Adonai beamo yefaer anavim bishuahFor HaShem taketh pleasure in His people; He adorneth the humble with salvation. ה5 יַעְלְזוּ חֲסִידִים בְּכָבוֹד יְרַנְּנוּ עַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָֽם׃ yalzu chasidim bekhavod yerannu al-mishkvotamLet the saints exult in glory; let them sing for joy upon their beds. ו6 רוֹמְמוֹת אֵל בִּגְרוֹנָם וְחֶרֶב פִּֽיפִיּוֹת בְּיָדָֽם׃ rommot el bigeronam vecherev pifiyot beyadamLet the high praises of G-d be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; ז7 לַעֲשׂוֹת נְקָמָה בַּגּוֹיִם תּֽוֹכֵחֹת בַּל־אֻמִּֽים׃ laasot nekamah bagoyim tokhechot bal-umimTo execute vengeance upon the nations, and chastisements upon the peoples; ח8 לֶאְסֹר מַלְכֵיהֶם בְּזִקִּים וְנִכְבְּדֵיהֶם בְּכַבְלֵי בַרְזֶֽל׃ lesor malkheihem bezikim venikhbdeihem bekhavlei varzelTo bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; ט9 לַעֲשׂוֹת בָּהֶם ׀ מִשְׁפָּט כָּתוּב הָדָר הוּא לְכָל־חֲסִידָיו הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ laasot bahem ׀ mishpat katuv hadar hu lekhal-chasidayv hallu-yahTo execute upon them the judgment written; He is the glory of all His saints. Praise G-d in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power. ב2 הַֽלְלוּהוּ בִגְבוּרֹתָיו הַֽלְלוּהוּ כְּרֹב גֻּדְלֽוֹ׃ halluhu vigvurotayv halluhu kerov gudeloPraise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His abundant greatness. ג3 הַֽלְלוּהוּ בְּתֵקַע שׁוֹפָר הַֽלְלוּהוּ בְּנֵבֶל וְכִנּֽוֹר׃ halluhu beteka shofar halluhu benevel vekhinorPraise Him with the blast of the horn; praise Him with the psaltery and harp. ד4 הַֽלְלוּהוּ בְתֹף וּמָחוֹל הַֽלְלוּהוּ בְּמִנִּים וְעוּגָֽב׃ halluhu vetof umachol halluhu beminim veugavPraise Him with the timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and the pipe. ה5 הַֽלְלוּהוּ בְצִלְצְלֵי־שָׁמַע הַֽלְלוּהוּ בְּֽצִלְצְלֵי תְרוּעָֽה׃ halluhu vetziltzlei-shama halluhu betziltzlei teruahPraise Him with the loud-sounding cymbals; praise Him with the clanging cymbals. ו6 כֹּל הַנְּשָׁמָה תְּהַלֵּל יָהּ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ kol hanshamah tehalel yah hallu-yahLet every thing that hath breath praise HaShem.
