א1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַֽל־מָחֲלַת מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִֽד׃ lamnatzecha al-machalat maskil ledavidFor the Leader; upon Mahalath. Maschil of David. ב2 אָמַר נָבָל בְּלִבּוֹ אֵין אֱלֹהִים הִֽשְׁחִיתוּ וְהִֽתְעִיבוּ עָוֶל אֵין עֹֽשֵׂה־טֽוֹב׃ amar naval belibo ein Elohim hishchitu vehitivu avel ein oseh-tovThe fool hath said in his heart: 'There is no G-d'; they have dealt corruptly, and have done abominable iniquity; there is none that doeth good. ג3 אֱֽלֹהִים מִשָּׁמַיִם הִשְׁקִיף עַֽל־בְּנֵי אָדָם לִרְאוֹת הֲיֵשׁ מַשְׂכִּיל דֹּרֵשׁ אֶת־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ elohim mishamayim hishkif al-benei adam lirot hayesh maskil doresh et-elohimG-d looked forth from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any man of understanding, that did seek after G-d. ד4 כֻּלּוֹ סָג יַחְדָּו נֶאֱלָחוּ אֵין עֹֽשֵׂה־טוֹב אֵין גַּם־אֶחָֽד׃ kulo sag yachdav neelachu ein oseh-tov ein gam-echadEvery one of them is unclean, they are together become impure; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. ה5 הֲלֹא יָדְעוּ פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן אֹכְלֵי עַמִּי אָכְלוּ לֶחֶם אֱלֹהִים לֹא קָרָֽאוּ׃ halo yadu poalei aven okhlei ami akhlu lechem Elohim lo karau'Shall not the workers of iniquity know it, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and call not upon G-d?' ו6 שָׁם ׀ פָּֽחֲדוּ־פַחַד לֹא־הָיָה פָחַד כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים פִּזַּר עַצְמוֹת חֹנָךְ הֱבִשֹׁתָה כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִים מְאָסָֽם׃ sham ׀ pachadu-fachad lo-hayah fachad ki-Elohim pizar atzmot chonakh hevishotah ki-Elohim measamThere are they in great fear, where no fear was; for G-d hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee; Thou hast put them to shame, because G-d hath rejected them. ז7 מִי יִתֵּן מִצִּיּוֹן יְשֻׁעוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּשׁוּב אֱלֹהִים שְׁבוּת עַמּוֹ יָגֵל יַעֲקֹב יִשְׂמַח יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ mi yiten mitziyon yeshuot yisrael beshuv Elohim shevut amo yagel yaakov yismach yisraelOh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When G-d turneth the captivity of His people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
